Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2007 GMC Acadia

Transmission failure due to faulty factory issued wave plate. this should have been a recall as gm appears to be very aware of this problem in most early year model acadias. the price tag alone is $4,000+... not to mention a rental car and making payments on an undrivable vehicle while it sits for who knows how long since the transmission is on national back order because its such a common problem. *tr

We bought this car used. had it for less than a year and only put 8,000 miles on it. on a return business trip the transmission went out while going down the interstate. had to call for a tow and have had the worst experiences with the dealerships working on it. i'm absolutely over this gmc and the junky car they created in the acadia. *tr

On this particular day i was merging on to the freeway (which speeds of other traffic was upwards of 65 mph). i attempted to accelerate and in doing so was unable to switch gears. the vehicle "bogged down" and nearly caused an accident as i wasn't gaining speed. this issue repeatedly happened on my way home, traveling a distance of 60 miles. this malfunction according to some discussions on edmunds is well known by gm! it needs to be more than fixed, the transmissions need replacement. a bandaid isn't going to work in this case. *tr

Car will not accelerate, engine just revs and rpms increase to 5000+ when attampting to change from third to fourth gear. thankfully, i was on a road less traveled and did not get smashed in the back with my son in the back seat on the highway. what a safety hazard! *tr

No speed entering the freeway and then reverse shot the car forward into a front yard and almost into a house. i entered the freeway after picking my 4 year old up from pre-school with my 1 year old also in the car. the car would not gain speed and rpms spiking. nearly got in an accident merging onto the freeway, exited first offramp, pulled into neighborhood and turned into driveway to do a three point turn to park on the side of street. put the car in reverse lightly tapped the pedal, and instead it sped forward as though the gas pedal was pinned to the floor. we went deep into the front yard of house stopping just short of the house. aaa came and towed the car to the closest gm dealer. aaa driver tested reverse and it would only go forward. he said he had never seen anything like it. so grateful this didn't happen minutes before in the preschool parking lot which is a u shape where the parents line up and the teachers bring the kids out. the experience was terrifying. we parked next to an acadia yesterday and my 4 year old said "mommy we should tell them they have a bad car." called gm immediately and every day since (2 weeks) - no response, i am just shuffled between representatives. my car is still sitting in the dealer's lot. my car also had a purge value problem causing it not to start after getting gas, and a power steering problem. it is one thing for the transmission to fail at 64,000 miles and another for it to almost drive you through someone's house. gm does not seem to care. *tr

Would not go into reverse, would not exceed 20 mph in drive, rpm's spiked to 4000, check engine light comes on, erratic driving because of the condition, web search reveals numerous incidents of same type involving breaking wave plate failure. *tr

Bought with 58k miles on it, 9/2012. problems began the following april. sitting at red lights, the truck would stall out at acceleration, occasionally not restarting immediately. dealers couldn't replicate problem. problem briefly stopped, and now it has returned and is far worse. while driving, it shakes and jerks like a new driver learning to use a manual transmission. several times the truck has shut off completely on highways while cruising at or around 70mph or accelerating to pass someone, nearly causing accidents. this truck has been towed home 3 times this month from this issue, i refused to take it to a gmc dealer because i can't keep paying $109 for diagnosis and they say they don't find anything (twice already). i recently had the vehicle scanned independently and it's given me codes 7ea and 7e8. the second code doesn't give a diagnosis. in the last week it has failed to start 4 times and i've been keeping video blogs to record what it is or isn't doing. it is currently sitting in my drive way, not operable. gm customer service says there isn't enough evidence to support a recall, but everyone is having the same problems. twice it stranded my wife and children on interstates. on 10/30/13 (on our anniversary, out of town none the less) it shut off and we had to get pushed to the shoulder...very embarrassing! something must be done! everybody can't be telling the same lie! also, the "service airbags" notice just started showing. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate over 40 mph. in addition, the gear shifter could not be moved into reverse. the check engine warning light was also illuminated. the vehicle was taken to dealer for inspection and the contact was advised that the transmission needed to be replaced. the transmission was replaced. the manufacturer was not made aware of failure. the failure and current mileage was 87,400.

There is a problem with the transmission on these vehicles. i was told so by the technician that replaced mine. our transmission gave out and left my wife and child stranded on the side of the road. the tech who worked on my vehicle said that the wave plate in this transmission blows apart. the ones that are being issued to rebuild are better. if there is an issue with these transmissions leaving people on the side of the road why hasn't there been a recall? *tr

After spending $370.51 at my local gmc dealer for stabilitrak errors resulting in low fuel input into the engine, with a maximum speed allowable at 35 mph, my 2007 gmc acadia is once again experiencing stabilitrak errors. they generally occur when i roll to a stop at a stopsign or stoplight, but i am very concerned that the transmission will reduce speed when i travel the interstate. my local gmc dealer claimed this problem was caused by a "cam exhaust position sensor fault" and replaced the "cam exhaust position sensor" on 3-20-13 for $370.51. for one week this repair worked and there were no stabilitrak errors. ten days later, my 2007 gmc acadia fwd is worse than ever, endangering me at night by shifting suddenly into "stabilitrak error, low fuel input" mode. i am terrified that my gmc dealer will charge me more money to pretend-fix this problem, as they have me coming in for $400-$1,100 repairs every other month now since they want to sell me a new car. *tr

No previous symptoms. could not get the vehicle to go in reverse. got towed to the dealer. diagnosis - wave plate fracture. found many many 2007 gmc acadia's had this problem, there should have been a recall. this happened 1 year after the warranty expired, but only 74419 miles, and never driven in extreme conditions and never towed. *tr

Engine light on vehicle, the vehicle will not shift into gear - happened three times had to pull off side of road to not get hit from other vehicles and 5 year old was also in car with me. had to shut off the car multiple times to get started again and for it to finally shift into gears. took car to dealer and they replaced transmission control module valve. on 4/1/13 car would not go into reverse on incline. had to drive forward and reverse on flat area, dealer now says they found broken wave plate and burned 3-5 reverse clutch. also found internal defect park of valve body. car is only 5 years old and has only 55 thousand miles on it. saw other issues on this database all with broken wave plates on 07 acadias. paid thousands of dollars to get this fixed. *tr

I was driving to the store, going down hill on the right side of the road. mid-way down a message appeared on the computer saying "engine failure, power off" and the car just shut down with out warning. no matter how hard i pressed on the gas the car was shut off. the steering went out as well and i had to stand in the seat to use all my power to turn the wheel. previous to this, the check engine light had not been on, no advance warning of this. i had both of my children in the car at the time. luckily there was a bp gas station with garage at the bottom of the hill, i was able to coast the car into the gas station where they ran diagnostic testing and repaired my car and reset the sensors. nine months later i was driving with both of my children again, in north east washington dc when out of no where the same message appeared. i was able to pull the car over to the side of the road and restart the engine one time. i turned around to go home and on the drive home the same thing happened on a less of an incline of a hill. the car shut down completely towards the top of the hill going down. same as before, no gas and no steering ability. i was too scared to leave the car on the side as cars coming over the hill would not have time to stop before hitting us. i put the car in neutral and tried to glide down the hill to the shell station. the car cut out completely and lost all momentum so i had to push the car into the gas station and wait 3 hours for the tow truck to arrive. it went back to the bp station from february and had a new battery and several other items replaced. i bought this car new in 2007 and have had countless breakdowns and replacements- two transmissions within the first 3 years and repairs. i keep up with car maintenance regularly and do no neglect anything. *tr

Trans went out shortly after purchase, alternator went out shortly after purchase, needed new wave plate, needed new alternator, sun roofs leak water through the interior lighting and down both a-posts. continues to run after shut off and key removed. slips gears, will not upshift. *tr

The first issue was the water pump, replaced it and 2 months later out went the power steering pump. at that time of replacing the power steering pump the dealership also replaced the rack and pinion and timing chain. now, it's the transmission. going rounds with gm to get them to take care of the issue in its entirety. this vehicle doesn't even have 63k miles on it! this vehicle is defective in every which way. i'm worried about what will go out next. i was looking for something reliable and safe and this acadia has been everything but that. i have several friends that are also experiencing the same issues. let the game begin. i have never had a vehicle that i feel is so unsafe and unreliable. i am a hard working woman who drove the same car for 13 years and had none of the issues that i am having with this acadia that i paid twice as much for! so, to anyone wanting to purchase an acadia, do reconsider, even as dependable as you feel your dealership may be...it will be a lemon in the long run. be prepared to get your gloves on in the ring with gmc as i'm currently doing...as i'm driving a dealership loaner, for 2 days now...good luck! *tr

I have owned this car for about a year and since i have owned it have had nothing but problems. first the struts were blown, the dash lights would go from bright to dim, the steering wheel made a clicking noise, the windows leak...this car only has 41,000 miles i mean come on! now the transmission has completely failed and after reading other websites it sounds like i will be paying $4,000 dollars. i am a new mom and have 3 step kids. i can't feel safe in my car because i'm worried about it breaking down constantly. now i have to dump all this money that i don't have into it. i really just want to cut my losses, but is that really the best thing to do? i'm stuck with this junker car and i couldn't feel more sorry for all these other people having the same issues. i'm absolutely miserable. thanks gmc you suck. *tr

The transmission on our '07 acadia went out after only 67,000 miles. we had to pay over $3,000 out of our own pockets to get it repaired because it was over the five year warranty period even though it was still well under the mileage limit. when you pay over $30,000 for a vehicle you expect it to last longer than ours did without having to pay thousands more to keep it operational. a few months after getting the drive train repaired we are experiencing camshaft/crankshaft issues. the vehicle is functioning at about 60% of its original power. we can only assume that this will entail another costly repair. *tr

Vehicle has about 50,000 miles but a few months out of warranty and started giving me problem shifting gear. researched the problem and found a lot of similar complaints out there but gm is refusing to take responsibility and making owners pay to fix the problem. transmission is defective. *tr

I bought this vehicle june 2012. i started having transmission problems last week. the transmission would stick when stepping on the gas or when going in reverse into my garage. i found over 200 complaints about the transmission. this should be a recall item. i was driving on the highway trying to get up a hill when the car started to do this. i luckily was not far from my exit and made it to a gas station when the car just stopped. *tr

Prior to having the transmission break down the vehicle had been shifting hard from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. starting up a small grade from a stand still the transmission suddenly began slipping at about 20mph. the vehicle would not shift and the engine light came on. i was only about 1 mile from home so i drove it home at about 25mph. at home i put it in reverse and it would not go into reverse. took it to a transmission shop the next day, they called me back later that day and told me it needed a new transmission. they are doing the job for $3200. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate to accelerate and operate sluggishly. the timing chain was replaced by the dealer however, the failure late recurred with the illumination of the check engine warning light. an engine flush was performed on the vehicle and the failure subsided for three weeks before recurring. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who advised that there was a seized solenoid in the transmission, which would require replacing. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 120,000 and the current mileage was 130,000. *tr

Started shifting weird, then rpm's would spike as car was shifting. car then would not go into any gear and left stranded on side of road. had to have vehicle towed to dealership where it was found to have a broken wave plate, damaging numerous gears and torque converter. pressure control module which is part of the valve body was bad. had to replace entire transmission, all seals, gaskets. also found out when replacing that the thermostat housing was leaking coolant, so had to have that replaced at same time. this at a cost to us of over $3500.00. have read online that this is a very common issue with this vehicle. we were 7 months out of our 5 year/100,000 mile warranty and gm would not help in the least. *tr

The vehicle would not shift out of 2nd gear going down the highway. the check engine light came on, and there are now four codes all for internal transmission issues. the car is 4 months past the 5 year warranty, but only 64000 miles. this is a huge safety issue. if this transmission fails while on an interstate highway, and it will not go over 20 mph, the results could be deadly. by researching this issue i have found a considerable amount of complaints about 2007 gmc acadias between 50000 and 80000 miles having transmission failures, but yet no recalls. this is an issue that gmc is well aware of, through their own admissions. why is there such a delay waiting for a recall? are all of the complaints going to have to wait for a fatality before gmc admits there needs to be corrective actions? *tr

While traveling at 45 mph, and with no warning (weird shifting, etc) the transmission completely failed. after being lied to by the dealership and gm, i did my own research and found that this is a common problem with this model year, so much so that gm has created a special program to fund part of the repair if the vehicle is out of warranty. (wave plate failure in the transmission). this vehicle should be recalled with a mandatory replacement of the wave plate. *tr

My 2007 gmc acadia's first started having transmission problems in december of 2012. the vehicle started having issues while trying to merge onto the highway or depressing the gas pedal for a passing and/or merging purposes, this would somehow revert into a neutral position, having the rpms rev up and no forward motion , until it's sort of caught up itself by backing off on the accelerator. the other issue involved putting the automobile into reverse ,not only at times it wouldn't go into reverse but instead would revert to a neutral position, until you started all over again with the process of putting it back into park and then back into reverse. never was there a light nor a warning by the cars sensors or any other symptoms that would give an owner a warning that there would be a problem coming soon. in any event, after having the symptoms described above the car somehow dropped into first gear and cannot shift from that position and finally, the transmission light came on. at the moment, i am in the process of filing a complaint with gm and at the advice of the gm representative, they advise me to have the dealership look into the situation. in my opinion, this is a very dangerous situation. seeing all the same complaints on the internet leads me to believe that there should be a further discussion on the transmission of the 2007 gmc acadia. thank you *tr

3 months past the 5 year 100k warranty with only 55000 miles on the car and both the water pump and transmission went out. gm paid for half of the costs still 1253.05 out of pocket when it should all have been covered. this is a consistent problem with the acadia and gm knows it but refuses to step up. the day the transmission went out we almost got thrown through the windshield definitely a safety issue. *tr

We were leaving my sons basketball game tonight and when we went to enter the interstate the tachometer went to 5000 rpm's and the vehicle was not moving. as i am setting along the interstate with vehicles hammering by me at 75mps i tried to go again. to no aval the vehcle would not move. i called a tow truck, moved my wife, 11 year old son and 16 year old son over the guard rail to safety. the transmission is bad, along with all the others posted on the internet. what gives? this vehicle has 88,000 miles on it and im told gm wont fix it because th 5 years is up on the warranty. what does 5 years have to do with anything when this is happening everywhere to this particular vehicle?? *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the transmission failed and the vehicle would not accelerate any further. the vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified but provided no assistance .the failure mileage was 73,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact received an unknown notification from the manufacturer that indicated that the power steering and transmission would be repaired for free if the failure occurred under the accepted warranted mileage. the contact mentioned that the transmission was repaired, but the gear shift failure recurred intermittently. in addition, while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. the dealer did not repair the vehicle. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 112,000.

I have a 2007 gmc acadia the transmission is slipping. the dealer told me is a valve body inside transmission, need to replaced whole transmission don't have warranty so the amount is 2600.00 just the transmission no labor. now i was reading and there's many cases like this they are saying the parts they used to build trans are made in china that's why there slipping and having trouble with it. need u guys to check on this power train problem before some one gets hurt while driving it is dangerous. my wife was driving with my boys inside every single one of them got scared and say that they don't like this truck no more thank you. *tr

While traveling down the highway with family the check engine light came on and the vehicle began shake and jerk violently. i pulled to the side of the road and the vehicle would not go into reverse and forward made a terrible grinding noise and could not go over 10 miles an hour which is very dangerous driving at dusk. got the car home and took to the dealer the next morning. we were 2 months past our 100 k 5 year power train warranty and gm would only give a small discount on a transmission rebuild. not once did they ask about our safety. *tr

Manufacturer defect to transmission. *tr

My wife and my son was driving to work on the expressway 826;at the exit ;making a turn; the car pull hard the wheel and it keep the defect . i had to pay the mechanic for change the pump but car has a noise and the wheel hard in interval. *tr

Transmission went completely out while driving on i-79 4 hours from home, while driving the speed limit of 60-65mph, had to push car out of road, towed car to a dealership that we did not know, was told the transmission was completely gone and had to be replaced at a replacement cost of $3600. had to rent a car to get back home in which cost $275.00, went looking into this matter found over 90 pages of complaints on edmunds.com. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph the vehicle started to slow down without any warning and after a few minutes it started to speed back up. the vehicle was later towed to a dealer for diagnosis. after diagnosis they advised her that the transmission has failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle has not been repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. the failure and current mileage was approximately 86,000. the vin was unavailable.

I was driving my car when all of a sudden it wouldn't accelerate above (20mph?). i was forced to park it at an apartment complex and get it towed to the dealer. now less than 6 months after paying out of pocket for that repair, i am having the same problem. *tr

Transmission failure causing car to go to 1st gear and dramatically reduce speed in traffic. seems to be transmission wave plate. *tr

9/27 as i was driving in a residential neighborhood to take my daughter to school i was approaching a green light at a four way and started to accelerate to 35 mph from a complete stop to cross four lanes of traffic. the vehicle reached 35 mph and although the speedometer stated 35mph the vehicle stopped moving and stalled and started making a churning noise coming from the engine. at this point my front end was in traffic under the light that was now turning red so i had to think quick and put on my flashers to alert the other drivers that i was having difficulties as i couldn't get the truck to move. when i pressed the gas pedal the engine just roared but no movement. once other drivers were alerted i had to coast backwards from the incline at the light and maneuver onto the side of the road. i turned the truck back on and it came on and miraculously i was able to drive it 5ft off the road before it stalled again. i had to be towed to a dealer as of today i was told it was the transmission but the dealer had to contact gmc to report all major engine failure before proceeding with any work. last year in dec. my truck started making whining noise and i immediately took it to the dealer to find out that the camshaft had went bad and spit metal in my motor causing me to have the engine replaced. because i was the second owner of the vehicle gm didn't want to pay for the total bill under the powertrain warranty and the fact that i was 3000 miles over the powertrain warranty itself. they did pay a third of a $5000 bill and i had to pay the rest only to have them place a recall on the camshaft and to reimburse me half of what i paid. this situation with the transmission reminds me of the rollover with the firestone tire ford had years back but the difference is that ford and firestone took responsibility. please make gm responsible before someone is killed. *tr

My transmission went out after 58,000 miles and 5 years and 5 months. so i am over my warranty by 5 months and am out $3300. in doing some research, there seems be an abnormally high incident of transmission failures on the 2007 gmc acadia. some bloggers indicate that the acadia models have big issues before the 2010 model. is there a systematic issue that gmc needs to address or am i just unlucky? *tr

10/27/2014 - 2007 gmc acadia transmission slips continually until it had a complete failure at 111,000. i called gm and opened claim. google acadia transmission problems, why has this transmission not been recalled? gm failed to harden these wave plates in the 2007 & 2008 gmc acadia . there are documented failures out there as soon as 25,000 miles. this transmission is such a piece of junk. the local transmission shop works on this transmission more than any other. please help us the bill for transmittion to be fixed is almost $4500

Transmission went on vehicle with daughter behind the wheel. *tr

My computers and cell phones were hacked and the harassment didn't stop until i disconnected onstar . i never had a account to this . transmission went out during the harassment they knew and heard everything i did.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc acadia. the contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the transmission failed and the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled. also, the contact mentioned that he had to disconnect the battery and reconnected it in order to reset the system. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 71,000.

The transmission wave plate fails causing highly erratic shifting and abrupt vehicle speed control. rapid deceleration while underway in traffic. very dangerous. *tr

The vehicle started over revving while changing from 1st to 2nd gear, slowing down in busy traffic. there were many in traffic who were blowing their horns and swerving to avoid my vehicle, which at the time contained my wife and three small children. the following day, the vehicle would not go into any gear. fortunately when the transmission failed, i was on a private road with minimal traffic. *tr

Transmission failed to shift into 3rd gear from 2nd gear. has done this a lot of times for no reason at all. became a hazard when we were accelerating onto a freeway and the car would not go into gear properly. *tr

While driving, the vehicle started skipping/catching while accelerating and the temperature gauge started to creep up. i entered a left turn lane in order to pull over. when traffic cleared i attempted to accelerate to make it into the parking lot. warning bells started going off "shut off engine" "shut off a/c" "enging overheat" and the truck shut off. i had picked up enough momentum as i had begun my turn but it was still literally a coast into the parking lot, narrowly avoiding a t-bone situation with an oncoming mini van. it was so close the mini-van laid on the horn and slammed on her brakes. i coasted into the parking lot but was unable to make it into a spot. i took out my keys and opened my door to get out. the alarms continued even without keys in it. there was antifreeze pouring out from underneath the vehicle. i had to turn on and off the car no less than three times to stop the warning bells. i called a local shop and had it towed. they replaced the water pump and a/c belt. got my vehicle back two days later. drove to work in the morning with no issues, however coming home it started to catch/skip again. (i live only 5 miles away from work). i had my husband drive it back up to the shop to have it looked at. when he got into it he was unable to reverse it; reverse just simply stopped working. he had to turn around in our yard - on the way to the shop (6 miles away) the vehicle would not go over 30 mph and again shut off on him while trying to turn into the auto shop. the diagnosis now is that it needs a new transmission. upon further online research i have found thousands of other owners of the same model/make and year with the exact same issues occurring roughly around the same mileage/time frame. there are three other acadias alone at our local gm dealership waiting to be fixed with the exact same issues. *tr

Basically bottom line is this is the 4th major thing i've had my acadia in the shop for. this repair of a rebuilt transmission is costing me 3500.00 out of my pocket. supposedly the gm customer rep does not think there is anything they can do for me because my car is 5 years old and 131000 miles.. that is just bs!!!!! i spent 40,000.00 on this car to drive it longer than this and for all the things to start nickel and dimming me is ridiculous. the mechanic at the gm certified garage told me that gm used a prt in the transmission on the 07-10 models of the acadia that cost them 1.69 and that they know they should have used a part that cost them 39.00, so this is the part that is breaking in the transmissions and making them junk and having to be rebuilt or new ones put it.. gm didn't want to recall the 07-10 models because it would have affected millions of cars, so they are just letting the owners suffer for their stupidity and lack of responsibility. my biggest complaint after the money is the fact the my child was driving my vehicle when this happened, he was panicked as he could not go over 30mph on a very busy road and the vehicle started to shut down on him!! he is very lucky the vehicle made it to a safe place and he was not rear ended as the car just stopped on him!!! really gm when are you going to recall these models and make it right for all of us that have to encounter such a high expense?? i really can not afford another vehicle or the $3500.00 to repair this one, but that is my only choice!!!! *tr

My transmission has to be replaced at 131,000 miles and a cost of over $3400.00 out of my pocket. well here i am again... this is the third major thing that has happened to my 2007 acadia.. i had to have all new timing chains put on 103,000 miles, had to have my service tire sensor fixed at 112,000 miles, i have done all the re-calls for the sun-roof leak, the heated windshield fluid, and whatever else hs been re-called on this vehicle!!! my 17 year old son was driving my car in heavy traffic on a major highway when the car just stopped and then he could only get it to go 30 mph. he is lucky he was not rear ended. i took it to the dealer, it will not go over 30 mph and reverse. i spoke with the head mechanic at the gm garage that is putting a new transmission in my acadia at the cost of 3400.00 to me, and he told me that all the 2007-2010 acadia's have a part in the transmission that cost gm $1.69 instead of using the part they should have used that would have cost them $39.00. he said gm know they should have recalled all the 2070-2010 acadia's but chose not too because it would have been millions of vehicles involved, so instead "thank you gm" for screwing all of us and now we have to pay for your mistake and cut backs.... *tr

While accelerating vehicle started to shake between 30-40 mph. shaking subsides at around 45 mph. this started around may 2012 with 99,000 miles on the car. took the car to the dealer to have it checked out because i though it was the transmission. they thought the tires needed to be rotated and balanced, which did not fix the problem. by 106,000 miles it was so bad that the vehicle could not be driven safely. this time the dealership said it was the motor mounts, which did not fix the problem. i had them keep the car until they found the problem. after 2 weeks they determined that it was the transmission! after the transmission was replaced the vehicle drives great. i have read hundreds of complaints on the acadia transmission and there are likely tens of thousands of cases just like mine. there should be a recall for the transmission on this vehicle. *tr
