The car will pulsate and shake when driving, then the check engine light would come on. you can't accelerate, like there no accelerating in then the car cut off, which is danger. i have had this car for less then a year, i just payed close to 1,000 bucks getting it fix from having electrical problems that my warranty did not cover. i had to take to the shop for things that was or recalled., in now this. i think i was sell a lemon.

I purchased my ford while it was still under the warranty. i took it to a dealer because i was losing power while driving in a certain gear at a certain rpm after the engine was running for about 30 minutes. i was told it was a wiring issue which i had the dealer fix. by this time i was close to the warranty being up. it didnt fix the issue. the vehicle loses power intermittently or stutters. i get p0352 codes. i have been dealing with it because it is intermittent but recently the wiring harness melted on an ignition coil. i have replaced the ignition coils, the pig tail, the spark plugs, changed transmission fluid, rechecked all the cables, and once the dealer reprogrammed the pcm. it has to be the transmission but because it is intermittent the dealer cant find anything wrong. i actually lost power once at low speeds after the transmission slipped and dinged a poll causing a dent in my car. thankfully i only lost power once on the high way and no one hit me. since i am out of warranty i am forced to find the cause and fix it myself. i do not have 4 grand for a new transmission install. my research shows that ford has three issues with my year. 1. ignition coils over heating due to bad pcms or programming 2. transmission bubbles or tears forming in the rings 3. cable controls on the transmissions. i am out of options and dont know what to do so i figure i would warn off others. dont by a ford with the 6f35 transmission unless it is a later year. i hear the 2019 has it fixed and i wish i could have one of those but the best i can do is warn others. i am stuck. 2 years of my life wasted.

While driving on a california freeway, a foul sulfur smell filled up the cabin with my family inside. less than 12 hours later, the car battery was dead and there was leaked fluid all over the battery. the ford motorcraft battery has a 7/16 sticker, and we are in 9/18. there was no corrosion to the terminals. the smell that was released was hydrogen sulfide, very toxic and deadly. it is also flammable. because of the failed battery, we could not open the doors except for the driver side, which we opened from the outside using the hidden key inside the fob. the other doors and windows are still non-operational due to a dead battery. this leads me to my main concern. if the battery had caught on fire due to the leaking acid, my family would have been trapped inside the car because the power doors and windows would be non-operational. the only possible escape would be through the emergency trunk release however i am not sure of it's functionality without power.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving at low speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact was able to restart the vehicle however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to russell barnett ford of tullahoma located at 1106 e carroll st, tullahoma, tn 37388, (931)455-4564, to be diagnosed. the mechanic stated that the failure was related to the fuel pump. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 147,000.

Car has limited power and acceleration. hesitates when accelerating. when climbing a hill, transmission wont downshift properly. when maneuvering "s" curves you can feel resistance in the steering. there is a wrench light for the restraint system that cant be located.

I have lost ability to accelerate while driving on highway and vehicle would not go above 40 mph on i-20, a 70mph road system, car jolts or jumps even without foot on accelerator so that i have no control over the car's acceleration. gas gauge jumps wildly and randomly from 22 mpg to 99 mpg. brake lights and other lighting systems remain on when car is completely shut down and headlights and interior lights are turned to off position. additionally, after the car is in park and turned off, vehicle will jump forward several inches. several additional inconsistent light issues when car is turned on and off. passenger seatbelt does not work. problems began 2018 and continue to present day. local ford dealership unconcerned and unhelpful in prioritizing the repairs after multiple calls and direct discussion with service manager.

Steering assist fault light on. power steering went out while driving on city street . traction control and hill start fault light came. service advance trac light came on as well.

Car randomly loses complete power. this has happened mostly when starting for first time (when off for awhile) but has also happened at stop sign/light and even while in motion at high speed. there is a clicking noise when this happens (relay chatter). subsequent restart will yield same results until finally becomes stable and i am able to drive. only seems to happen during warmer summer months.

While the vehicle was in motion the fan speed on the climate control system without manipulation decreased to a fan speed of one while on a city street.

Driving vehical lost power steering, dash board lit up,steering assist fault, service advance track, hill start assist not available,i now have to drive my car to work with no power steering, dealer said cant look at it till wendsday, warranty ran out 2000nd miles ago.this car only has 57000nd miles on it:dont know what to do:

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. while the contact's daughter was driving 35 mph, the steering wheel seized. the contact's daughter had to use excessive strength to turn the steering wheel. the vehicle was turned off and would not restart and "power assist fault" appeared on the instrument panel. the vehicle was towed by the contact's father and taken to tyler ford (2626 s sw loop 323, tyler, tx 75701, (800) 788-7876). the vehicle was currently being diagnosed and may be repaired if the failure was under warranty. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. the failure mileage was 130,000.

When my right or left blinker is on, my headlights flicker making it hard to see at night.

Three times in a three week time frame the car has flashed the message, transmission not in park, while in drive and then completely shut off. twice i have that on the highway once heading southbound on 95,banother on 128north and the 3rd on a side street. i've been able to saftley make it over to either bd late or side of street . however the problem/ concern has yet to be rectified with kelly ford beverly where i bought vehicle

Drivers side door will not lock. anyone can open my door and break into my car, even if i happen to be in there while at a stop light.

In the summer of last year 2018 i was in a store shopping came out cranked my car, the air would not come on and the windows would not roll down. it was in the 90's that day and even hotter inside my car! the vehicle was stationary at the time in the parking lot. it had this problem the rest of the summer while the temperatures outside was hot. it is april 2019 and just a few days ago we had a warm day around 75 degrees. i left for work stopped at the end of my driveway had the car in park and left my door open while i got the mail. got back in and again did not have air and could not roll the windows down. every time this happens the radio will not work either. last year during the time the air and windows were not working my battery was dead when i was going to go to work one morning. took it out and went and had it tested at local auto parts store. they said they had never seen a battery that they couldn't read like that before. it's like the battery was fried. along with those problems last year my car was stationary at home in my driveway and i went to get in my car and my doors were locked i tried the remote and the keyless entry and nothing would unlock my doors. so i had no access to get into my car. a few days later i tried again and it unlocked. i've also came home a couple times at night in the past week and noticed the inside lights where the air/heat & radio controls are is flashing on and off and the outside ground lights under the mirrors on the driver and passenger door are on. i had to unhook battery. no keys in ignition and car is stationary in my driveway. i think this is a major safety issue when you have no air and you can't roll down your windows in hot weather and also when you get locked out of your car. the car is definitely not drivable in hot weather! unknown cause, may possibly be something in the computer or wiring of the car.

Car accelerates and decelerates sometimes sputters bad when in reverse. wrench icon comes on. ford replaced the wire harness and pigtail for an expensive cost to me but now its doing the same thing again. all this happens while driving down city streets.

Takata recall- steering wheel controls are not working, including turn signals and windshield wipers; bluetooth not functioning properly. phone connects, but there is no connection when playing music from device

March 7 2019 i turned my car on noticed my heat was not on and my seat did not move, turned my car off and on still wasn't working, touch screen wasn't working, passenger side windows didn't work the driver side did, there wasn't anything showing that there was anything wrong. drove home without any heat, when i got home i turned it off and on, then everything worked fine. march 10, i was driving no warning lights, my car just shut off driving through my apartment on the way to store then it turned back on. then i drove for a couple hours went to another store left my daughter in the car with the dog and some music then it said that it was going to shut down to conserve battery, my car was dead couldn't turn over i had to get a jump to get it to start. took it to a shop march 11 they said there was nothing wrong with my car and there was no codes.

The problem began in february 2019 when the described car began to stall while in drive, reverse and/or park. car shakes violently and then dies stating 'press brake to start'. after the car is put in park, turned off and back on, car resumes normal function. after first taking in the car, the turbocharger was found to be the culprit. after getting a very expensive repair done, the problem returned shortly after. traveling across the country, the problem happened again. after returning home and having more work done, the problem continued to happen. when on city roads, in the driveway or parking lots, the stalling continued. in only nine months, the new spark plugs needed to be replaced and two engine coils had failed. then after this work was completed, the problem continued but no engine light had come on. then in december 2019 the car was taken to a ford dealership in kansas to be diagnosed. after claiming the transmission needed work or even worse possible replacement, i was faced with the question of whether or not to keep the car. after the car was finished at the dealership with no repair done other than a recall, the engine light came on and the problem became worse: more frequent and more intense shaking. after multiple calls made to the dealership to inquire about after market warranty coverage on the repair, the dealership has not called back.

Driving steady state on normal state highway road surface in dry daylight conditions, the vehicle began chiming and displaying a long sequence of error messages and mils. after a few seconds, speedometer zeroed and cluster lost power. center stack then lost power. the vehicle had no exterior lights, no horn. vehicle "believes" ignition is off, therefore no airbags. after pulling over and a key off/ key on, vehicle was normal for a couple minutes, then repeated this problem. vehicle has been to 2 different dealers for this intermittent issue. first issue was with vehicle under warranty and dealer found no problem other than long list of codes. 2nd dealer in dec 2018 performed repair detailed on tsb to wrap chaffed wire. problem occurred again jan 23 and 26, 2019. additionally today vehicle will not start.

I currently have a safety recall for a failed thermistor on my charging cable for my 2014 ford fusion energi plugin hybrid. safety recall states that there is a chance of fire when plugging in the car to my home outlet using the charging cable that comes with the vehicle. my ford dealership is aware and i have reached out multiple times about a replacement but there are none in stock. so at this time i do not feel it is safe to charge my vehicle until a new charging cable that meets the safety requirements with new thermistor is provided. Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced electrical failures, which affected the air conditioning, windows, heater, door locks, and defroster. the contact had to disconnect the battery after parking the vehicle because the headlights remained illuminated. the dealer (prime ford auburn, 780 washington st, auburn, ma 01501, (508) 832-6261) diagnosed that one of the computer modules may be defective. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was 55,000.

Ac controls, window controls, door locks not working.. getting "temporarily lost communication with the climate system" error... a/c wont work, i'm unable to open windows, unable to lock doors, or control radio functions...

Its been a year or so that the car been acting up its displays on the screen (temporary lost of communications with climate system) windows dont go down ac doesnt nothing works on front controls i have 2 kids and it worry me because it could happen when im driving or even when i parked or stop what i do notice it usually happens when it's hot dealer also seems to find nothing wrong with it

So i have a 2014 fusion, bought pre-owned currently with about 16,000 miles. i recently noticed that my car when accelerating pauses to accelerate. this is especially noticeable trying to go from 0-60 as fast as possible. also after slowing down and hitting the gas pedal it almost feels like no power is being applied to the engine momentarily. i was stationary, then in motion below 10mph crossing an intersection on a city street and to my right a vehicle was doing 40+ in a 25 and flew over a hill and almost hit me. when i went to accelerate to get out of his way, this is when i noticed the problem, i slammed the gas and didn't move until a literal second later, luckily he slammed his brakes and nothing happened. reason unknown, however after experimenting in a safe environment some more, i noticed that it only really happens in drive, not sport. although it is an automatic, they split up these sections and probably different "chips" that dictate these controls. it could be a delay between pressing the pedal and receiving power. unfortunately, i cannot drive the vehicle and record at the same time as i don't have a safe way of doing so, and it looks like you don't allow video to be uploaded anyway. the vehicle currently has 27,000, model se, 2.5l engine, semi-automatic transmission. again, does delay in acceleration in drive, not sport.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. in 90 degree temperature or higher, the "failure to communicate with climate control" warning indicator illuminated and the windows were inoperable. the dealer (mt. orab ford, 1-937-444-2551) was called and stated that they never heard of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer advised the contact to file a complaint with nhtsa. the failure mileage was approximately 51,550. the vin was not available.

April 13th, 2018 approximately 4:45pm. picked up my kids from school get back into my car, start ignition and start driving home from school. air conditioner stops working, locks lock, windows won't go down. there is no way to get air into the car.i took the car to peoria ford on april 16, 2018 and they had the car 2 weeks and 1 day and replaced the electronic board. i received the car back on tuesday may 1st. i drove the car on sunday may 6th to take my kids to their fathers house. the air conditioning once again went out while driving, doors automatically locked and windows wouldn't roll down. the temperature was 101 when this happened. i drove it home and it sat in my driveway until monday, may 7th. it had to be towed to the dealership as it was to hot to drive that day and the air conditioning would not work, windows wouldn't roll down and doors would lock upon driving. the radio also gets stuck into high volume so you have to turn the blue tooth on to get silence. this also happened early august 2017 and the engine was replaced in september/october 2017. this is a dangerous situation as the only way to get air to me and my children is to stop the car and get out. this does not work when you are in highway traffic. this happens both stationary and driving.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle shut off and restarted without warning. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was taken to ford lincoln of franklin (615-800-6500, located at 1129 murfreesboro rd, franklin, tn 37064) to be diagnosed, but no failure was found. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

While attempting to charge the parked vehicle in my garage, i plugged in the 110-volt charger that came with the car into the wall before plugging it into the vehicle. it sparked and nearly caused a fire. upon inspection, it was clear the plug was overheating over time and caused a short in the wiring adjacent to the plug. the oem of the unit was made by clipper creek. i reported this issue to clipper creek as well.

Everytime i put my car in gear, either reverse or drive, the gas tank door will open up. the gas tank button doesn't work and neither does the ev button for pure electric drive. the only way to open the gas tank door is to put the car in gear.

The wiring to the digital screen has shorted out somehow now i have to go spend a lot of money on a 3 year old car with 72,000 miles on it

2014 ford fusion. consumer writes in regards to emergency brake intermittently disengages while vehicle manual transmission idles in neutral. *smd the consumer stated the driver's side seat warmer power on by it's self. the navigation system dash display failed to allow data entry. *js

I purchased a new-to-me 2014 ford fusion from germain ford in columbus ohio on 2/2/18. on the 2nd day i had the car there was a light snow storm, a few inches, i am a wonderful driver with a clean record. i went to pull out of my street and i lost control of the car. i thought it was ice until i stopped at a light & my wheels started spinning and i could hardly maintain control. i felt like the steering wheel was taking over and i was fighting it as i kept sliding. this went on the entire two miles to work. i'd never been more terrified. i've driven in snow and ice for 20 years and this is my 6th ford and i had never been so afraid of a car. i thought maybe it was a one time issue, maybe it really was just a strange one time thing? but on sunday 3/25/18 it was raining here in columbus and i was driving about 40-45 mph on a wet road and my car started acting like it did in the snow, but this time i lost total control of the car tc came on and once again i could not control my car and the wheel jerked to the right causing us to spin out of control. the back passenger tire hit a curb, we spun around and the front passenger side hit the curb and we went into a grassy area coming pretty close to a pole and an apartment bldg. i ended up with a flat tire, bent rim, i needed an alignment, the paint is scratched under my car, and i need a new baring on the front drivers side. also - i found out there was around 5 inches of water in my trunk due to a broken seal. i had the car towed to the dealer & i begged them to figure out what's wrong. right now they claim nothing is wrong but they are fixing the leak & the damage. i paid for a new tire. i am beyond terrified to drive the car again. i have never lost control of a car before and now i have in this car - twice in less than a month. something is very very wrong. thank you for any help or suggestions. i just want a safe car.

This car just fell apart at 130000 miles. the purge valve failed 3 times. the abs speed sensor pigtail failed. the entire pcm unit board shorted un repairable. the map sensor failed. ford has charged me 3 times for diagnosis as failures were less then 4 days apart so towed back each time. a pcm complete failure on a car not even 4 years old with only 130000 miles is an issue as they want around $1000 for replacement when it should not be failing. add in all the previous recalls this car has been a lemon from the start. i am a long time ford buyer but this has soured me. the abs pig tail triggered all safety lights drops power steering and poor braking.

My 2014 fusion had about 47,000 miles when it suddenly lost power to all but the ignition and lights. after attempting to find the reason at 2 dealerships it was found that the wiring harness that leads to the bcm module was improperly installed and it basically broke. the wiring harness was on back order over 35 days since apparently there are many more of these problems on the 2014 fusion assembled at this plant. the repair for this ford-built issue was $2,655.03 and ford basically told me to stick it when asked for a rental or loaner car while my car was immobilized for 40 days. auto rental was another $1,000 for the month. ford cs reps in dearborn basically scoffed at any attempt to have mercy on me and increased the part price since it was hard to find. i'm sure there are many more immobilized fusion's, or many that soon will be. the car also has an alignment issue that cannot be corrected even though the car has never been struck. it "feathers" the rear tires quickly and i've gone through 2 sets of 50,000 mile tires in 30,000 miles. never would i tell anyone to own such a fine vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. while driving 30 mph, the traction control, power steering fail assist service required, and hill start assist not available warning indicators illuminated. the local dealer was not contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 103,000.

Car says it's iverheating and it was stationary for hours before.

The ford fusion on multiple occasions in the last 2 months has suddenly, without warning, lost full throttle power while driving (radio remains on), i.e., gas stops flowing into engine despite attempting acceleration, and the car will on its own come to a stop. so far, have been able to pull over without incident, but obviously it's very scary! this generally occurs shortly after the car has had ignition turned on while driving on road generally at low speed - don't want to ever experience this happening on a highway! then i turn engine off a few seconds and attempt to restart - it often takes scarily longer after this power loss to restart, but it does restart. could lead to life-threatening situations obviously!

Steering pulls opposite direction and tire pressure light is faulty

1) steering wheel is loose and getting looser. this happened on the freeway at 65mph. almost lost control of the car. 2) car still thinks it is plugged in when unplugged. will not allow vehicle to start without a new visual prompt confirming that the car is indeed unplugged.

When turning on the car and actually taking off driving the car will stop/ shut off all by itself and i have to restart it, while driving. the steering wheel will pull or jerk while driving. i have had my car looked at twice. changed the battery and still can't figure out why it does it.

I've had my car one year and it has 50k miles on it. the power steering randomly went out and now my entire eps has to be replaced.

I tried entering my car after church and the windows would not go down, radio would not turn on, locks would not work (car was just unlocked even though i used my key prior to lock it), and the air/heat controls would not work. the last couple of days in michigan have been quite hot but this day it was close to 93 degrees and it felt like a sauna in my car. i have two young kids that i transport in my car and with the hot weather and no ability for windows to go down or air to be turned on we could basically suffocate. i even waited until the next day (06/12/2017) and the car issues are still present: locks not working, windows not working, radio not working, air not working, and all dash controls not working, and today my key controls (lock, unlock, and alarm) would not work. even when i started the car this morning to take the kids to school nothing worked so we were in a hot car for about 20 minutes to get them to school before the real hot weather starts.

I picked my daughter up and started the car. the radio was blasting. i couldn't turn it down. the air conditioner wouldn't come on. there was a message on the display panel warning of "temporarily lost communication with the climate system". when this happens the check engine light comes on, the air conditioning stops working, the windows will not roll down, the touch screen does not work, and the radio cannot be adjusted. locks on doors are also frozen. seats will not adjust. we are basically trapped inside the car with no air. it was 95 degrees outside and there was no air flow. this is very dangerous. both my kids were with me. this happens when car was stationary and in motion.

2014 ford fusion se, the trunk will open its' own, usually when i unlock the vehicle via the integrated keypad and, occasionally when using the key fob remote. the vehicle has also popped the trunk while unattended, while no effort to unlock the trunk was being made, by any means. this means that the vehicle is rendered unsecured, by its' own defect.

Car repeatedly over a period of 18+ months experiences intermittent electrical failure that results in windows, locks, radio, fans, dash lights to stop working. there is no pattern to the failures. i have been stuck in 90 degree weather on the highway unable to even roll down a window and no moving air due to fans being out. car has been in to 2 different ford dealerships and kept there for weeks at a time with no resolution.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. the contact stated that the sync my ride system in the vehicle had been illegally hacked and caused the traction control and transmission to malfunction. also, the contact indicated that the vehicle failed to accelerate when depressing the accelerator pedal. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who reset the sync my ride feature, but the failures continued. the dealer indicated that the hacker overrode the administrator password in order to hack into the system. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 32,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. after starting the engine and removing the key from the ignition switch, the vehicle continued to operate normally. the cause of the failure was not diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v736000 (electrical system). the contact indicated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. the failure mileage was 61,426.

Complete electrical power failure due to persistent drain on battery. after jumpstart, car was operational; however, there is intermittent failure when the car is not in use for 24 hours. intermittent hard fault with dtc p0887 in sobdmc (secondary on board diagnostics model c). below are a subset of dtc codes: dtc module b10d7:87 bcm b1287:11 bcm p0887:00 sobdm-c p1934:87 bcm p1a10:00 bcm u0140:00 pscm u3001:00 becm u3003:13 pscm u3003:16 becm u3003:16 bcm there is limited coverage by the manufacture (post 36k miles) and the consumer is responsible for the extensive diagnostics and repair. the complexity of the plug in hybrid car and the current service model are inconsistent. this is a bigger problem than most recognize.
