No engine light on or warning.. lost power will driving. will stutter then shut off while driving. dealership won't do anything because the engine light isn't on and they don't have a code. i have read many others ford fusions having this same exact issue. it is very scary and makes me terrified to drive my car anywhere. it's does this a few times now!
Driver side door opened while driving on a city street and it wouldn't latched or closed. i had to tie a rope to drive it to dealership.
Purge valve not functioning properly. check engine light luminated. safety recall for sputtering requested as the car could become inoperable until replaced.
While driving the car will shut off and prompt a message that says transmission not in park. i had to coast my car to the side of the road put my car in park, turn the ignition off then turn it back on and make sure each gear was shifting.
While driving on a california freeway, a foul sulfur smell filled up the cabin with my family inside. less than 12 hours later, the car battery was dead and there was leaked fluid all over the battery. the ford motorcraft battery has a 7/16 sticker, and we are in 9/18. there was no corrosion to the terminals. the smell that was released was hydrogen sulfide, very toxic and deadly. it is also flammable. because of the failed battery, we could not open the doors except for the driver side, which we opened from the outside using the hidden key inside the fob. the other doors and windows are still non-operational due to a dead battery. this leads me to my main concern. if the battery had caught on fire due to the leaking acid, my family would have been trapped inside the car because the power doors and windows would be non-operational. the only possible escape would be through the emergency trunk release however i am not sure of it's functionality without power.
The vehicle was sitting about 24 hours and i go to get in it to go to work and it doesn't immediately start like it normally does, once it started the service brake light was now on along with the maintenance wrench and my brakes were practically non existent since i don't live far i drove it to the dealer with a escort vehicle just in case and the dealer replaced the battery retested and is now being sent to the manufacturer dealer to have something with the hybrid system serviced will update with more detail when received.
Both door latches on driver side have broken preventing the door from latching. they have had to be replaced. found recalls on similar vehicles but this was exempt. believe the issue to be broader than the recall detailed.
While driving car down highway at approx 70 mph, suddenly the brakes stop functioning normaly making it almost impossible to stop vehicle without using emergency brake. also experience extreme loss of power making it difficult to reach a speed of 35 mph with pedal pushed to floor. ford dealership diagnosed as vacuum pump. ford vacuum pump purchased and replaced. within 3 weeks exact same issue again on interstate. brakes nearly useless to bring car to a stop, loss of power. had to have vehicle towed to get it home. called to question warranty on ford vacuum pump - informed vacuum pump is on "national backorder" and can't even be given an approximate date as to when a new part will be available. maybe it's time for a recall???
Got in my car and turned on the car with the driver door not closing, had to drive home while holding the door. driver door latch not locking or going up.
Recall # 19s16, the gear shift cable disconnected as i parked my car in the garage and my vehicle ([xxx] ford fusion 2014) kept moving forward, stopping with the wall, after i released my foot from the break pedal. ford is saying they have recall #19s16 but a remedy is not available, they advised me not to drive it, phone call reference #[xxx]. on the website it says: the remedy for this recall is still under development. the recall is expected to begin may 28, 2019. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt
Water leak from the sunroof, causing water stains over the passenger visor down, down the door frame, into the passenger floor. the dealership was unable to fix or locate the problem, leaks every time it rains.
A piece of window molding disintegrated . and allowed water to permeate the insulation in the dash as well as the rest of the car. this was not apparent until an odor was detected. neither ford or the dealer will offer any compensation. the cost for repairs is $4,500 and was told book value is $,9,000
I've had my vehicle since october 2015, my vehicle takes to long to stop while driving. the distance between car can be far but car still won't stop. i have had 2 accidents in this vehicle because of this. it's like the car is glides and you have to put excessive force on brake to get vehicle to stop. you can also be completely stopped at a light and the car will lightly glide but to the point u don't notice the car is moving. the 1st accident the airbag deployed i wasn't even doing 2 mph. i was sitting in traffic with foot on brake and car glided. miles at time was less than 50,000.
In the summer of last year 2018 i was in a store shopping came out cranked my car, the air would not come on and the windows would not roll down. it was in the 90's that day and even hotter inside my car! the vehicle was stationary at the time in the parking lot. it had this problem the rest of the summer while the temperatures outside was hot. it is april 2019 and just a few days ago we had a warm day around 75 degrees. i left for work stopped at the end of my driveway had the car in park and left my door open while i got the mail. got back in and again did not have air and could not roll the windows down. every time this happens the radio will not work either. last year during the time the air and windows were not working my battery was dead when i was going to go to work one morning. took it out and went and had it tested at local auto parts store. they said they had never seen a battery that they couldn't read like that before. it's like the battery was fried. along with those problems last year my car was stationary at home in my driveway and i went to get in my car and my doors were locked i tried the remote and the keyless entry and nothing would unlock my doors. so i had no access to get into my car. a few days later i tried again and it unlocked. i've also came home a couple times at night in the past week and noticed the inside lights where the air/heat & radio controls are is flashing on and off and the outside ground lights under the mirrors on the driver and passenger door are on. i had to unhook battery. no keys in ignition and car is stationary in my driveway. i think this is a major safety issue when you have no air and you can't roll down your windows in hot weather and also when you get locked out of your car. the car is definitely not drivable in hot weather! unknown cause, may possibly be something in the computer or wiring of the car.
Ford as well as pat milliken ford in redford michigan allowed me to unsafely drive a vehicle that had an open recall for a shift cable bushing due to the fact soemone in there department 'mistakenly' marked my vehicle recall as repaired on february 13th, 2019 total safety issue that needs to be addressed!
Shift cable off transmission cable bushing. parked at work, shifted to park and took foot off brake and began rolling. shifter was stuck in the park position but car was in drive. used e-brake avoid rolling into vehicle ahead of me. bob allen ford in overland park, ks completed the repairs and noted "c/s the car will not start it thinks it is in drive found shift cable off transmission replaced cable bushing and adjusted cable, verified operation. this is known recall on 2013 and 2014 ford fusions manufactured at the hermosillo mexico plant, but my car manufactured in december of 2013, does not fall within the dates on the recall so i was required to pay for repairs, parts, labor, and a tow to the service center totaling $447.12. advised by bob allen ford to file a complaint and/or contact ford about the issue and request a refund.
My trunk is randomly opening while i'm driving down the road. i've checked the latches and doesn't appear to be any damage. i rarely use my trunk. i'm thinking it could be an electrical issue?
Several weeks ago i noticed that the front passenger door was not opening when the inside handle was initially pulled i was able however to try again and it would work. unfortunately now i am completely unable to open the passenger side door at all from the inside. i have contacted my local dealership in regards to the repair they are advising that it will cost over $400 to have a fully functioning door. this issue is a massive safety issue which has myself and my family concerned in regards to this matter.
I was parked filling my car with gas. when i started the vehicle again, it would not go into drive. the reason i was given after having the car inspected was as follows: the shifter cable bushing at the transmission failed and was copletely gone. found shifter cable bushing worn to the point that it seperated from the shift cable. there is a recall for this exact problem but not for the model of my fusion. the recall number for other fusion models is 18v471000 with a recall date of 7/16/2018. ford's number for this recall is listed as 18s20. because this recall is for the exact problem i had with my fusion, i believe my model needs to be included in the recall.
Has rattle under passenger floor when fuel tank is 3/4 to full in park or in gear at complete stop or just creeping below 5 mph and have read online about the baffles breaking in the fuel tank causing this issue also read it causes air in fuel line which could be a safety issue while traveling down highway if engine cuts out due to this issue,, also drivers door doesn't always latch 100 % sometimes have to open and close door several times to shut completely and has started doing this since october of 2018 also transmission shifts funny when cold going from park to reverse has very harsh engagement and 3rd shifts very firm when going in
Car stalls and cuts off while vehicle in in operation. i took it to the dealership when it first began to happen, they stated that it was put on the machine and nothing lit up so they couldn't find anything wrong with it. this kept happening, for weeks it would drive normal and then just start cutting off again while i'm driving. i took it back to the dealership and they stated that they found the problem. it cost almost $300 dollars for the repair. we got the car back and three days later it was cutting off again. we took it back to the car dealership and this time they stated it was something different and that the part was covered. after we were told the part was covered the dealership called us back and stated that it was not covered. i googled this particular car and noticed that many people have been having the same issues with the car and also given the run around about not knowing what the problem is. why isnt the whole car recalled and why haven't this problem been listed under the recall. this is a serious road and safety hazard for the driver of the vehicle as well as others on the road.
We just purchased this car. when we start out driving slow the car stalls. pulling out into traffic from parking lots parking spots. it happens daily. yesterday a car had to swerve not to hit us afterwe stalled and it did not start up rightaway.
I drove to the post office and put my car in park but the car didn't shift into park it made it from drive to neutral and stuck there. the actual gear shift was in the park position but the car itself was in neutral. i pulled my ebrake on so i could exit the car my car wouldn't roll. what happened was the dorman that is on the gear shift under my hood had chipped away, causing the gear shift arm to pop off. i replaced the dorman, and everything has been fine for about a month.. a week ago it popped off again as i attempt to shift gears and has popped off everyday, several times a day, almost every trip i make but this time the small cream piece that helps engage it is there, intact, and not worn at all. this is very frustrating to have to pull my ebrake to park my car, get out and pop the hood and readjust the arm and gear shift and reattach it so that i can get my car into the gear i need it in.

Air conditioning clutch fell off compressor while driving on highway. bolt fell out allowing clutch to fall off. could have hit another vehicle on the road. only didn't because it got caught in the engine splash pan. after searching this is a common problem not only on the ford fuson, but also on f series trucks, and the ford mustang.
I haven't even had my car a whole year yet and i have already replaced a transmission and now having to do the steering wheel/bearing/hub assembly i thought ford was okay until now i've spent so much money trying to repair this car.
I put car in park. when i restarted the car i could not move the shifter. looked at car display and it said 'car not in gear'. the digital read out showed car in park. i had it towed to dealership for repair. they said gear cable was broken. cost me $585 to repair. gear on the radio that trucks and suv being recalled for same issue at no cost. why was the fusion left offf this recall?
I purchased a new-to-me 2014 ford fusion from germain ford in columbus ohio on 2/2/18. on the 2nd day i had the car there was a light snow storm, a few inches, i am a wonderful driver with a clean record. i went to pull out of my street and i lost control of the car. i thought it was ice until i stopped at a light & my wheels started spinning and i could hardly maintain control. i felt like the steering wheel was taking over and i was fighting it as i kept sliding. this went on the entire two miles to work. i'd never been more terrified. i've driven in snow and ice for 20 years and this is my 6th ford and i had never been so afraid of a car. i thought maybe it was a one time issue, maybe it really was just a strange one time thing? but on sunday 3/25/18 it was raining here in columbus and i was driving about 40-45 mph on a wet road and my car started acting like it did in the snow, but this time i lost total control of the car tc came on and once again i could not control my car and the wheel jerked to the right causing us to spin out of control. the back passenger tire hit a curb, we spun around and the front passenger side hit the curb and we went into a grassy area coming pretty close to a pole and an apartment bldg. i ended up with a flat tire, bent rim, i needed an alignment, the paint is scratched under my car, and i need a new baring on the front drivers side. also - i found out there was around 5 inches of water in my trunk due to a broken seal. i had the car towed to the dealer & i begged them to figure out what's wrong. right now they claim nothing is wrong but they are fixing the leak & the damage. i paid for a new tire. i am beyond terrified to drive the car again. i have never lost control of a car before and now i have in this car - twice in less than a month. something is very very wrong. thank you for any help or suggestions. i just want a safe car.
My vehicle keep stalling and cutting off mid driving. its happened on tbe expressway and mid motion on the regular street.after i restart the car, it stalls but start back up. sometimes it drives perfectly fine, other times it shuts down in the mist of driving, some days the engine light comes on and other times there is no warning lights on. this has been happening off and on for months. its been hard to get a diagnosis since the engine light comes and go. my back middle seatbelt is stuck. it appears to be locked underneath the seat.

My husband and i were getting ready to leave town for a friends wedding, dropped our son off at school, went to a gas station to fill up, started the car up and went to leave and couldn't move the car out of park. called a tow truck, come to find out my 3 year old cars transmission cable snapped. i had to pay $700 to fix it. when i looked online, this isn't something new for these cars. it needs to be recalled.
Starting in october 2017, immediately after i updated the sync software in my car, the integration between my iphone and my car stopped working. previously i could say "hey, siri!" and the car would activate my car's microphone so that the phone could hear my commands. after the update i cannot talk to my phone because the car does not activate its mic and the phone mic is covered by the cradle. when i contacted ford recently i was told that ford has removed this feature because "the car has its own voice recognition system" (sync) and that ford does not support reverting to the previous version of the sync firmware. clearly ford wants to "own" the customer buy removing integration with phone voice features. this is a safety issue because i cannot no longer access phone features not supported by sync hands-free. cars with advanced electronics are already known to be a safety hazard and this makes it worse. this change was done without my knowledge or consent, which is a separate issue, which i will pursue with the ftc.

I tried entering my car after church and the windows would not go down, radio would not turn on, locks would not work (car was just unlocked even though i used my key prior to lock it), and the air/heat controls would not work. the last couple of days in michigan have been quite hot but this day it was close to 93 degrees and it felt like a sauna in my car. i have two young kids that i transport in my car and with the hot weather and no ability for windows to go down or air to be turned on we could basically suffocate. i even waited until the next day (06/12/2017) and the car issues are still present: locks not working, windows not working, radio not working, air not working, and all dash controls not working, and today my key controls (lock, unlock, and alarm) would not work. even when i started the car this morning to take the kids to school nothing worked so we were in a hot car for about 20 minutes to get them to school before the real hot weather starts.
There has been a recall outstanding since last year (recall 15s16- door latch replacement, nhtsa campaign number: 15v246000). i have tried several ford dealers and they all tell me the parts are not available. i do not want to wait for a fix for such a potentially dangerous defect.
Took my car out of town didn't have any problems on the way, smooth ride. the next day i noticed my a/c went out in my car and was blowing hot air, i thought i just needed to recharge my air. once we popped the hood to recharge we noticed something towards the bottom of my hood beneath one of the belts. turned out the bolt holding the a/c clutch plate vibrated off resulting in my clutch plate to land on the bottom of the hood.
2014 ford fusion se, the trunk will open its' own, usually when i unlock the vehicle via the integrated keypad and, occasionally when using the key fob remote. the vehicle has also popped the trunk while unattended, while no effort to unlock the trunk was being made, by any means. this means that the vehicle is rendered unsecured, by its' own defect.
I can hear "water" sloshing when starting, stopping and turning corner. when i slow down the heater blower cools. when i stop, the drivers side cools more and the passenger side is like having vents open in winter. there are not dual air temperature controls. the radiator fluid is completely full.
I had leased a 2014 ford fusion back in 2014, had every intention in purchasing the vehicle, a couple weeks before my lease was to end i was experiencing electrical/defect issues in september 2016, all my locks, air/heat, windows would shut off as i was driving and it was slowly draining my battery. i made dozens and dozens of phone calls to ford corporation/customer service asking for help, and informing them the vehicle was not safe to drive (mailed them evidence of my issues). took it to the dealership at tom holzer ford, after many attempts made to repair my vehicle they still could not repair my vehicle properly, i spent $400.00 to repair my vehicle and i was still left with the same issues listed above. when i arrived at the dealership for the third time they tried to change their story and claim i had a new problem to avoid paying to have my vehicle fixed and avoid using the "good will warranty". instead i was left draining my savings to repair my vehicle and miss work since my vehicle was unsafe to drive. i also noticed other customers who had a 2014 ford fusion had the same issues as i did, and instead of contacting national highway traffic safety administration , they went on carcomplaints.com. please view my attached documents relating to the issues that i had with my 2014 ford fusion. if possible i would like a investigation made for a possible recall, and fines and penalties imposed if needed. lastly, ford had sold my 2014 ford fusion to another buyer, i had no idea if the buyer was disclosed of my issues that i had. on myvehiclehistory.com, it states that "no problems" were reported which is false, since i submitted all my evidence to ford corporation and nothing was done. *js
The car stalls out ,like it wants to stop when you are taking off and stalls when you are trying to go up hills small hills ,.i feel like my granddaughter is in great danger.this has been going on since she bought it .we take it to dealer they say it is the way she drives.i am 68 i am a great driver i got in it today to go to store parked it it is so bad.it was shacking so bad .
Engine randomly stalls while driving in low and high speeds. the car is under 40,000 miles and have been faithfully serviced. no engine light present.
Door latch not working. opened passenger door to put purchase in floor board and door would not secure. i had to tie the door shut to return to my property. took the vehicle in to ford dealership and was informed of no recall. paid for repairs and one week after repairs ford issues a recall for door latches the same issue i took the vehicle. called dealership and ford service and am informed no recall issued for my vin number.
Headliner falling. the headliner is falling at the edge of the doors and all around the sunroof. it sagged so badly behind the sunroof that it detached from the roof and was blocking my rear view in the mirror. worried that it could fall away from roof completely and cause an accident. from online searches it is a common issue.
While driving i could smell wires burning i stopped the car raised the hood nothing found got back in the car and the wires going to the rear view mirror were on fire quickly i grabbed a glove and smothered it out or the car would have burned.
