Takata recall, body paint horrible, rusted early, transmission went went, electrical system horrible, turns like a truck
Takata recall i received a letter from the ford motor company on july 2016 stating that the passenger frontal airbag inflator may rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment. a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. since this is alarming information i have called the ken grody dealer in buena park, ca on 7-30-16, 12-8-16 and 9-6-17 inquiring if the parts are available yet to fix my 2006 ford fusion. i was informed that the parts are not available yet. so my question is when will these parts be available from ford so the recall can be fulfilled? injury or death is not acceptable for a slow moving ford co. to respond to people that bought this car.

Takata recall a couple years ago, we began noticing the passenger dash beginning to bulge and separate. when we received the notice about the recall on the airbags in certain ford vehicles we connected the dots. over time and with heat the bulge became bigger and parts began to separate. when we were informed that a passenger should no longer be allowed to sit in the seat while driving, it put us in a very large predicament for our family to use our only vehicle. we made do hoping that the parts would come in this spring like we were told through the mail. we continued to call our ford dealership and after five attempts and only getting voicemails, we left messages each time with our name, question, and phone number. we have yet to have a return phone call from them and it has been months. we just want our vehicle safe to drive in so we can efficiently use it as a family and as our only means of transportation.
Ford still does not have a solution to my airbag recall and it has been a year from being notified.

Takata recall notified over a year ago that my car was under this recall. notified again july 2016 that i would be receiving a letter when my air bag became available and to notify my dealer. called dealer and he said probably by dec. 2016. now the dealer is telling me april 2017. this is totally unacceptable since my two granddaughters drive this car to college four days a week. your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated. no replacement for this airbag after 18 months is borderline criminal. *tr

Airbags did not deploy during car accident. airbags recalled by takata are far more dangerous, basically dead airbags. the vehicle was in motion, another recall with the carpets being recalled as well, resulting in excessive speed from the carpet pressing on the gas peddle, causing the accident.
The dashboard is bulging/buckling against the passenger side airbag. the bubble appears to be caused by the dash material surrounding the airbag becoming detached or unglued. the position of this bulging and separation cause concern that the airbag may malfunction upon deployment. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 ford fusion. the contact stated that the passenger side dashboard was separating which could possibly expose the air bag. the contact mentioned that the passenger side air bag light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the entire dashboard needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 53,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 ford fusion. the contact noticed a protrusion on the passenger side dashboard where the air bag was located. it appeared as if the air bag would deploy at any moment. the vehicle was taken to two mechanics who both stated that the protrusion was not caused by the air bag. the vehicle was taken to a body shop and the mechanic stretched the material to repair the dashboard and closed the opening that was created. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 62,000. updated 09/15/14*lj
When driving on the highway and roadway, such as bridges this summer, my vehicle stalled several times, lost power coming almost to a complete stop, putting my family and i at risk. when i pressed on the gas to accelerate, the engine begin to race, causing the "check engine light" to come on. it also jerked and skidded as i tried to maneuver the steering. to avoid accidents on these occasions, the vehicle had to be pulled over and subsequently, parked. highway driving was also avoided most of the summer for safety and concern. there is also an issue with the front driver side airbag, as recent as this summer, the seal became distorted, twisted and cracked in the dashboard. lastly, about 2 weeks ago, the rear door lock on the driver side no longer works, the door must be opened manually from the inside of the car. these are valid vehicle defects and safety issues and ford must step up and do the right thing for all parties of interest. *tr
The dashboard is separating from the passenger air bag area and seems to be stretched by something, unsure as to cause as nothing is apparent. also the front left defroster air vent near the windshield started to detach from the dashboard as if it was under spring pressure to do so. the local dealer says there is no fix for this to his knowledge , except to replace the entire dashboard. the dashboard does not appear to be made of material that stands up to uv lighting as to wear and now appears to be either poor quality materials or was factory installed improperly. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 ford fusion. the contact stated that while sitting idle, the front passenger side air bag erroneously deployed. the contact was startled, as there was no impact to the vehicle to warrant air bag deployment. the dealer was made aware of the failure and declined to assist. the manufacturer was also made aware of the failure but provided no assistance due to the age of the vehicle. the vehicle was not replaced. the failure mileage was 25,167.
Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2006 ford fusion. the contact stated that the air bag indicator remained illuminated. jim hudson ford (1201 w main st, lexington, sc 29072, (803) 359-4114) was contacted, but the part was not available for nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags). the vehicle was not repaired and was traded-in for a 2014 ford fusion. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was not available. parts distribution disconnect.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 ford fusion. the contact stated that while traveling 45 mph, the vehicle was involved in a crash with another vehicle. upon impact, the air bags did not deploy, which caused the contact's chest to strike the steering wheel. the contact sustained back, neck, hip and chest injuries. the vehicle was destroyed. the manufacturer had not been contacted. the failure and current mileages were unknown.
I was sent a letter about the passenger airbag needing replaced. i had this done september 2012 because the warning light was on. do i get a refund since i already had to take care of it.
Passenger side air bag bulging out of the console afraid it is going to discharge at anytime and hurt myself or passenger this is dangerous. also front driver side lock decided to break and only way to exit is to roll down window also has potential to be dangerous. why is there not a recall on all these dangerous items that seem to reappear on every complaints listed. *tr
2006 ford fusion: two safety issues 1. the dashboard on the passenger side near the air bag is warped/bulged. the air bag indicator flashes on every once in awhile. i am concerned the air bag will deploy causing harm. this is a major safety concern. 2. complaint: cracking and popping in my front suspension when turning or going over bumps. about two years ago i took my car to a ford dealership and they stated there was a technical service bulletin and a "sub frame assembly kit" needed installed. ford wouldn't cover the repairs but i bargained they ended up covering the cost of the part and i paid labor. problem seemed to stop for awhile but is now back. my concern is if the subframe breaks it will cause an accident. i drive 25 miles to work monday thru friday, 90% is highway. *tr
Car collision with another vehicle. the front end of my car hit the back end of the other vehicle. my rate of speed was approx. 40mph none of my airbags deployed. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 ford fusion. while driving less than 30 mph, the driver crashed into the front end of an approaching vehicle. the driver sustained injuries to her knee, back, neck, and hand. the driver of the other vehicle was injured and removed from the scene by an ambulance. at the time of the crash, the air bags failed to deploy; however, the air bags deployed in the other vehicle. the manufacturer was unable to explain the failure. the current and failure mileages were less than 34,100.
Exiting the freeway at 40mph the brakes failed and my wife hit the barriers and the air bags never deployed. *tr
I bought this car new in 2006 and still have been told that i'll have to wait for new air bag recall to be installed
I was proceeding through an intersection to turn left. a car that was supposed to stop ran the red light and t-boned me directly in the driver's side. his airbag deployed (front). my 2006 ford fusion is equipped with front and side airbags. none of them deployed. i was transported to the hospital with fractured ribs and ultimately, needed pt to restore my neck and left arm rotator cuff to full use and back to normal position. progressive insurance insisted on repairing the car - total over $17,000 damage to vehicle. no one checked out airbag system and all assume it is working properly. i disagree. the door post where the sensors are located was smashed in, driver's door would not open, cut and rebuilt floor of car. *tr
Takata recall - see attached letter - still no parts available for a "high risk" vehicle. the delay in addressing this serious and dangerous problem is ridiculous.
Takata recalled airbag
I almost killed in a near fatal collision on january 15, 2007. i was in a 2006 ford fusion sel with front and side airbags. my car was demolished and but for the grace of god i survived despite my failed airbags. i informed ford as you can see they started to deploy and stick out a little. the photos prove they failed. ford is making it difficult to follow through and i have the car being held so it can be inspected. i am afraid they are defective and will result in the death of someone. i was flown by helicopter with severe head injuries and from the pictures, you can see the blood spot where my head cracked the side panel directly below where the airbag should have come out. the impact zones on the car are with out question worthy of making the airbag deploy. please contact me, as i am tired of trying to work with ford because of my concern for the lives of others, and all they want to do is be obstructive. *jb
This vehicle has an air bag safety recall and the passenger air bag light is on. i can't have a passenger ride in my car due to this danger recall 16s26/nhtsa recall 16v-384and this vehicle is 12 years old and parts are still not available. what good is a vehicle that can't have a passenger due to a danger recall!! i must have this repaired, this car should be considered a lemon law!!! please advise what my next procedure can be to get this part installed or take the car back!!!
Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle was in an accident at 55 mph into a sand dune. the car rolled over four times and the air bags did not deploy. there was no air bag warning light illuminated prior to or after the incident. the vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company and has not been taken to a service dealer.*ak
