I have an automatic 2012 ford fiesta, a model that is infamous for its transmission issues. i had the clutch and seal kits replaced at approx 72k miles on 10/5/2017 under technical service bulletin 14m01; immediately after this repair, the vehicle had to go back into the shop for a high idle and continued shuddering. since then, i have continued to have problems with the vehicle studdering on takeoff, hesitating and then jumping when accelerating, and ultimately with the transmission slipping from drive to neutral. in mid-july 2019, while leaving my suburban neighborhood and making a left turn onto the main road at approximately 20mph, my vehicle slipped from drive into neutral and i lost all power and was unable to brake effectively or speed the vehicle up effectively. thankfully this happened early in the morning with no cross traffic and i was able to pull into a parking lot safely. the same incident happened again 7 months later in late-january 2020. i took the vehicle back to the ford for an inspection on 2/7/2020 (which they charged me for). they stated that there was transmission fluid between the bell housing and the ...

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while driving at 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the gear shifter failed to shift from neutral. all the instrument cluster warning lights were illuminated. the vehicle was towed to bill hood ford (1500 n morrison blvd, hammond, la 70401 (985) 205-8157) but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 108,130.

Transmission kicks in and out of gear when starting out. seems to be dangerous at an intersection.

I just bought a used 2012 ford fiesta and i realized after buying it that the odometer isn't working at all. the transmission also isn't working properly. when i start the car, the 1rt gear won't go into shift so the car stutters and shakes. i took the car to a ford dealer but they insisted that the car doesn't have a recall for the transmission. i know that there is a consumer class action suit against ford due to faulty transmissions built into these make and model. i have contacted a lawyer and i am waiting to hear from him. i would like to file a formal complaint. thank you. p.s: i do not know what type of photos or documents you would like me to upload do please contact me with more information with this regard.

My vehicle while stopped at an intersection lurched forward almost hitting another vehicle. i was stationary with my foot fully compressing the brake. then out of nowhere my engine area started making a strange noise and i lurched forward several feet almost colliding with a vehicle in the intersection. this was on a country road in an intersection. i believe this may be due to the recent transmission issues ford has admitted to.

I have experienced repeated and frequent problems with my vehicle: shuts off for no reason daily, often at a traffic light or just after i begin accelerating; the transmission is faulty (has already been replaced once at 97,000 miles at great expense) and simply stops working at unexpected times (e.g. while driving down the road it slips into neutral and won't move, shudders, etc. i have to turn my fiesta off and restart to get it to move).. this is a very dangerous vehicle and i cannot afford to replace it. i read that ford has been aware of these issues from date of manufacture, and has not publicly acknowledged. it is my understanding that engineers of the fiesta are now going public. when is something going to be done? why do i have to wait until i have been seriously injured, or worse, to get redress for what ford motor company was aware of, and covered up, even while these vehicles were being manufactured? this is a continuing issue, not a single or even a 20 time occurance.

Car will stop at times you have to let it sit for an hour, vibrates, sound like plastic moving around when car is on, hard to go up hill no acceleration, jerks. i was on a city street it stopped in traffic so i'm only able to go to the store i have to leave it at a friends home scared to drive it home as we live into different counties were you have to get on the highway not safe. i was actually looking up transmission cost when this appeared i was told by a mechanic that is the issue and it needs to be replaced.

Just bought the car. next day the transmission started acting up while in stop and go traffic. jerking, bucking like a wild bronco, smelled hot. took it in to ford and discovered i need to replace clutch. it will be the 3rd clutch on a car with 79,000 miles.

I was driving and attempting a turn. the transmission shuddered and stopped moving. like i was in neutral. i nearly got hit. i stopped the car restarted it and drove away.

I recently purchased this one from local dealer he said all is good. but transmission is not good at all

The transmissions does not shift correctly, the car shutters and does not accelerate correctly.

Transmission balks on acceleration. when entering expressway on ramps the transmission slips and causes trouble merging with the up to speed traffic. from a stop it often operates flawlessly but sometimes will not accelerate without surges forward and backward. this unpredictability is dangerous. i will not let my wife or daughter drive this car. it is downright dangerous.

Transmission slipping had to pay $4000 dollars to replace picked up 7/16/2019 ford dealer told me was not covered under extended warranty. car was making noise as rpms was increasing.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while driving and making a turn, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was towed to beechmont ford (600 ohio pike, cincinnati, oh 45245, (513) 752-6611) where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module and dual clutch needed to be replaced. the transmission control was repaired; however, the dual clutch was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: cas22261423. no further assistance was provided. the failure mileage was 140,000.

My 2012 ford fiesta's transmission has been shuttering, slipping in and out of gear, and stalling on hills or in intersections on busy highways or city streets. i've taken it to the dealership numerous times and i get the same response, (there is nothing wrong sir) is what they tell me. i love the car, love the fuel economy, but every time i drive it it makes me worry about breaking down in the middle of busy traffic and leaving me stranded, with no other way to get to work. i feel like if ford would do a recall to replace these faulty transmissions, then there would be a world of difference on the way that car makes me feel while driving.
