My 2012 ford fiesta se has the powershift 6 speed automatic transmission. in less that a year, the transmission shuddering problems started. you can feel and hear the shuddering in first, second and now sometimes third gear. the transmission has been in for software upgrades 3 times, has had one transmission rebuild, and i'm now three weeks waiting on my third new clutch to try to fix the problem. ford motor company has obviously been fielding complaints about the powershift transmission for several years, yet other than extending the warranty, has done nothing to actually fix the problem. i bought the car new and was hoping to get 200k miles from it, i don't see that happening. it's time for a national recall on these cars / transmissions!

I leased a 2012 ford fiesta in march 2012. shortly after, i contacted my dealers service department about grinding/knocking noises when i accelerate. they told me it was normal for the "new" transmission in the fiestas. the noises got louder and more frequent so i took it in. they heard noises and said there was nothing they could do. multiple trips to service, had parts changed with no change in noises. on one appointment, found they had to pull my transmission for multiple leaks, new seals, etc. car was ok for a little while, but concerns back with noises, jolting, jerking, lack of acceleration. dealership would take it out and say they experienced what i had been saying, but nothing they could do. according to ford, it was operating within normal parameters. after some time, they would not take the car back again for service so i began going elsewhere. after multiple service visits for the same reasons, i was finally into september 2014 and finding they had to order me my 3rd clutch. i waited months, with no answers or explanation from ford, and part finally arrived 1/25/15...5 months after ordering!!!! repeated calls to ford that car was stalling, severe jerking, lack of acceleration, etc. and all they would say is work with service, nothing they could do. i have read many reviews and stories of people with same issues, poorly functioning transmissions in the fiestas and other model fords. ford refuses to take responsibility of fixing, they just extend the warranty which is not fixing the immediate problems or keep from happening again. i am in the process of trying to terminate my lease. *tr

Feels like it strains as it shifts, feels like something in the transmission is not right. i am made to feel like its nothing and i know it is. i barely drive it over 25 miles per hour unless i go off the island and ofcourse there have been tire issues, kumho solus tires, tire size 185/60/15. i nearly had a deadly crash with a semi. i have filed a complaint about that also. the sync system seems to mess up alot also and gets worse with time. *tr

I bought my car in 2011, and since 2012 my air conditioner only blows hot air. i have had it replaced multiple times, but it continues to break. my transmission, after several recalls, has continued to slip and mess up. now, in the 4th year of me having my new car, i cannot pump gas at any station. when the nozzle is in the fuel tank, it continues to cut off, causing me to take 10x the amount to pump gas as it used it.

This is a brand new car ,purchased at fuller ford in cincinnati ohio, two days in my possession, the transmission locked up and starting burning, the car would not move at all , in the middle of the road , this could have caused a serious accident or even deaths, ford knows about these transmissions being bad and should not be selling these cars . now they think i should keep driving it and breaking down until the lemon law can be enacted, i am not driving this car at all , ever again. it is dangerous, other people have bought these and had the same type of problems. i called ford credit and told them to cancel the loan , i will not pay a penny for this car! *tr

After purchasing in december of '12, the first problem arose after only 15 000 miles. the car was making a s noise from the transmission. i had to take it to the dealer twice, first time they didn't want to even acknowledge the problem. then at 30000 i noticed fluid leaking from the vehicle. turns out it is the oil leaking into the bell-housing, causing the car jerking, stalling on hills and freeways-very unsafe to drive it. sometimes it takes up to 4 seconds after pressing the gas pedal for cat to react(very dangerous when merge on freeway or changing lanes) and the dealer won't be able to get me in until next december because there is no necessary parts. and stated "well it should be fine until then." i've heard that one person already won the lemon law case against ford regarding this vehicle. online forums and reviews are full of complaints on ford fiesta 2012 transmission. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph uphill, the vehicle began to independently roll away in reverse. the vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 200.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the transmission hesitated to shift when a right turn was made. the failure recurred on several occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be duplicated. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 10,171.

This is to add to the many complaints about the ford fiesta transmission clutch shudder. i bought my car new, it began shuddering in a few months. i've brought it in to dealer for repairs 4 times in 4 years. the last time i was told there is a long, long wait for replacement of a faulty clutch with another faulty clutch. the ford company has extended a useless warranty up to 150,000 miles, which strongly suggests the company is going to wait out the functional life of the car . the danger, in this case, is the financial loss incurred when trading in a car with a known fault for which the manufacturer is to blame, and receiving full value for a faultless trade-in.

purchased my fiesta in march 2012. shortly after purchase started having problems with the shuttering and hesitating issue due to this new clutch design. the vehicle has been in to the service department where i purchased it the first time the clutch issue was repaired the second time they installed a part of the clutch system. the third time it was in to the service department there was no repair done. the warranty guidelines required the failure to rate at a 270 my failure was a 250. i have contacted a lawyer to get me released from this "death trap". on march 6, 2015, i went to turn left across two lanes of on coming traffic and it shuttered at acceleration and nearly stalled. keep in mind this is automatic. i was nearly broad sided. i made arrangements for a vehicle because i was told that they did not have a loaner for me to drive while they repaired mine. so on, march 10, 2015, i took the fiesta to another local ford service center and upon their inspection was told that the clutch had to be replaced again. the wonderful news to this story is the part is back ordered from the factory and it will take eight weeks for them to receive in the part needed to repair my vehicle. i refuse to drive this vehicle. the ford fiesta is not a vehicle that should have the safety recommendations that it has. it isn't safe for consumer use.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of power, lack of acceleration, and shuddered. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch failed and needed to be replaced. the contact stated that the failure occurred five times and the clutch was replaced four times. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated while the vehicle was in drive gear, she removed her foot from the brake pedal and it moved in reverse independently. the contact stated while driving the vehicle also sputtered as if it was changing gears in a manual transmission. the vehicle was equipped with an automatic transmission. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who reprogrammed the computer and the failure ceased. the failure recurred twice. the failure was reported to the manufacturer. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 112. the current mileage was 15,000.

Shutters at 20 mph....jerking sometimes till it reaches 30mph.. have brought it to the service department 4 times....they said the car has to learn my driving habits. once they told me that my rim was dented....i fixed that at a tune of 200.000...it made no difference. going back to the dealership again in two weeks.

As i accelerated, the gears began making a grinding noise. this cause the entire vehicle to vibrate and shake uncontrollably. this occurs 80% of the time when i press on the accelerator and start accelerating. also, when i try to drive the vehicle at slower speeds between 30-45 mph, the gears grind constantly and the vehicle will sometimes vibrate uncontrollably. when i first got the vehicle, it was very minimal vibration and/or gear grinding. i have had the vehicle almost 2 years now and it now has 40k miles on it. the grinding noise is now very very loud and the vehicle shakes even worse than before when accelerating. if i had the rate the vibrations/shaking of the vehicle out of 10, i would rate it a 9. when i first took it to the dealer i bought it from back in april 2012, i was told that this was the way the vehicle drives because of the type of engine/transmission. i was told the vehicle has a manual transmission and the gears are shifted by a computer. so, i took their statement at face value. now, after owning the vehicle for almost 2 years, i have been doing a lot of research and finding that several other owners are experiencing this problem. this, i believe, is definitely a safety issue because the vehicle is not performing properly and it vibrates so strongly that the entire vehicle shakes and in my opinion, this could cause loss of control of the vehicle. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle excessively shuttered and shook when attempting to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the power train software needed to be reprogrammed and the clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired but the failures persisted. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 10,000.

When the brake is released while in drive the car rolls backward at times. ford service explained that it is due to the double clutch transmisson. the driver has 3 seconds to press the accelerator before the brake releases. *tr

Car makes a grinding noise at low speed acceleration. *tr

Vehicle has a powershift automatic transmission that acts like a manual: roll back assist not working properly: vehicle jerking: vehicle lurching at stops: 2nd incident may 2013: same issues added car losing power: november 2014: same issues: transmission drivability issues: roll back issues loss of power issues. march 2015, all same issues: all issues and check engine light on this last time due to transmission circut issue reported continue to fix transmission: continues to break down. the vehcile has never ran "good" always transmission issues: loud noises, car losing power while driving, lurching at stops accelerating at stops, no response to acceleration. four times in three years in for fixes that do not work. car is unsafe as the loss of power is now more frequent.

I bought my 2012 fiesta in sept 2011. within less than 1 month, we noticed that it would get stuck and unable to put in reverse, then would make an awful grinding noise when it would finally go in. brought it to the dealer several times and they said they found no issue. now, at 80k miles, that problem continues but is now losing power when upshifting and jumping when taking foot off the gas. headed back to the mechanic tomorrow but so far ford service has been pisspoor and far too many transmission issues. *tr

This car is a 2012 ford fiesta. i first started noticing problems before i even hit 15,000 miles on it. the car shudders and jumps with acceleration and turning. i have gone in numerous times to have it fixed and the problem is never fixed. there have also been numerous times when the car hesitates when i need to make a speedy decision putting me in danger because the car doesn't react the way its supposed to. now my engine over heated and i have no idea how that happened. i cannot believe this is happening to my 2 year old car. i am seriously thinking of just trying to sell it and get a new car. something needs to be done about this make and model. i think the entire line should be recalled and people should get there money back. *tr
