The tire began making a squishing noise as it rotated. over time it became worse. then one morning we found it flat. we took it off to put the spare tire on. at that time we observed 9 separations of the sidewall of the tire, one with cord showing through it. during its life, the tire was rotated routinely and was always kept at the vehicle manufacturers recommended pressure. it was manufactured in february of 2011.

The tread is separating from the tire on all four tires. there is about 30k on the tires which have a 70k mile warranty. the same tire although different size are recalled for the same issue.
I purchased a new set of pirelli tires for my 2010 ford expedition in feb. 2015 & they cost me $1,800.00. i thought i was paying for a a better set of tires. in aug.,6 mth. later, my family went on a trip to nc in the expedition & on our way home my front passenger tire completely came apart from the inside out on the interstate. my tire sensor light had come on maybe 10 minutes at most prior to the tire exploding, we should've had time to make it to a gas station. i brought my car to sarasota ford the next day & was told i should have immediately put a spare on my car & brought the tire in because most likely the valve stem was leaking & they would've covered the tire. jimmy said that i ruined the tire because of driving on it with low tire pressure. i paid the $225.because i still had a spare tire on my car & i wasn't comfortable with it & i wasn't getting anywhere trying to tell him that i didn't believe you can be given a 10 min.warning to get your tire ...

Bought truck used,with pirelli scorpion tires. they cracked 360 degrees , 1 inch from the rim, inside surface, on all 4 tires! this was noted on a oil change.. dealer agreed to change all tires. *js these tires (new) after a short time, failed in a similar manner, again all 4 tires.
While traveling at 60 mph, right rear tire failed to hold together. a "thumping" sound was head just prior to the tire exploding. diver maintained control after hitting the retaining wall along the freeway. vehile impacted rataining wall once, then spun and inpacted it again totaling the vehicle after airbags deployed. upon the on scene inspection, it has been determined that the tire separated and lost all tread. no deaths happened as a result of the driver not panicing and maintaining what control she was able to. tire was a continental contitrac suv. *tr
My 2012 ford expedition suffered a catastrophic tire failure while travelling at 65mph on the freeway. the tire was only 11 months old with approximately 9000 miles. the tire was inflated properly and had no external signs of wear. slightly before the tire sidewall separated i heard a slapping sound from the left front and eased off the gas. the tire then popped loudly and caused the vehicle to become hard to control. i was able to slow down and get to the side of the road to replace it with the spare. the tire was a goodyear wrangler sr-a. fortunately no one was hurt but the tread caused some minor damage in the wheel well area. this was a very dangerous situation caused by an unreliable tire. *tr
