Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while driving 25 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine indicator illuminated. the contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and restart the engine. the dealer (autonation ford amherst, 8000 leavitt rd, amherst, oh 44001) was contacted and advised the contact to bring the vehicle in to be diagnosed. the vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 80,600. the vin was not available.

Coolant loss/leak that grew over time to a large leak/fire risk now. over the past year coolant level would fall and need to be added every few months. the water pump has now failed at 76k miles causing a large coolant leak covering the engine/underside of the vehicle in coolant. it has never overheated but there is a risk of fire from the coolant loss on the hot engine/exhaust parts. the vehicle has already been reprogrammed on a previous recall for the reduced power mode if temp rises/coolant loss when the turbocharger was replaced under warranty for a leak. called local ford dealer ship (grapevine ford in tx) and was told no open recalls on the vehicle. they performed the warranty replacement of the turbocharger for leaks and performed pcm update for temp/reduced power limiter.

Engine coolant pours out of system. reservoir does not hold coolant longer than 2 days.

Coolant leaked into the engine and cracked the engine blocks back in july of 2017. the engine was replaced. march 5th 2018 the check engine light came on again. this time, the code is for a coolant bypass valve that they're not covering under warranty. we missed the recall by 10 days production date. this part was recalled for a reason and our car should be incorporated into that recall despite the production date.

Experiencing the same exact issues as nhtsa campaign number: 15v813000. ford keeps looking into this problem but say nothing is wrong with the car. car stalled several times in live traffic and almost caused a crash. engine shuts off unexpectedly when driving. the map sensor finally threw a code p0106 and after replacement it ran fine for a day and stalled again which points to the harness. the incidents where it almost caused a crash where when i was on i75 and the car in front of me slowed down, i pressed the breaks and my car lost complete engine power which was very scary.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the contact was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road and powered off the engine. the vehicle was restarted and was able to be driven to the contact's residence. the vehicle was later taken to gulf coast ford (located at 3000 state hwy 288, angleton, tx 77515, (713) 422-7200) where it was diagnosed that the map sensor failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to seth wadley ford lincoln (located at 333 n, butler road, pauls valley, ok 73075, (877) 710-2709) where they wiggled some wires and the check engine warning indicator turned off; however, the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failures and provided case number: 17452552. the failure mileage was 39,572. *tt consumer stated vehicle would stop in the middle of traffic randomly. *jb

The vehicle is having engine cooling problems. first, the engine coolant dropped so low the air conditioner stopped working while on vacation (summer 2017). got the coolant refilled and then the level started dropping again. took it to the dealership and water pump was replaced (fall 2017). now the engine coolant light is on again; they say it has to do with hoses connecting the cooling system to the engine. they believe the car is not safe to drive but it will be 4-6 weeks before they can replace the hoses. they will let me rent a car from them (winter 2018).

Car stalled while driving and will not start back up

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. when the vehicle was started, the contact noticed a strong burning odor coming from the vents. the vehicle was driven to (j c lewis ford in savannah, georgia) where it was diagnosed that there was a cracked head between cylinders two and three. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 116,000.

Car battery or alternator light came on red light in bottom right of console, then immediately exclamation point came on with message engine overheating stop safely. when i had only driven 1 1/2 on a city street. the message came on when i slowed down to stop at a stop light. i pulled into a parking lot and as soon as i slowed down to stop steering wheel locked and it turned off. even 3 hours of sitting when i turn the key to accessory overheat light and message appeared as well as when the tow truck dropped it off at the ford dealership. there is a recall on 2013 ford escape 1.6 se for this problem but they tell me mine isn't part of the recall.

Car says engine overheating and completely disables the cars engine to where it will stop you mid driving. i was going 70 mph got the warning and immediately the car dropped my speed to 5mph in the middle of the highway and would no longer accelerate. had to dodge and weave to get to the side of the road and still was mid way in the middle of the emergency and right lane of the highway.

Constantly loses coolant fluid and engine stalls at times, i understand ford has recalled this year and model for this, but they keep telling me our vin# is not on recall list, but it is doing what they have recalled other same year same models for

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle decelerated and the engine warning indicator illuminated. in addition, the vehicle started to overheat. the contact coasted to the side of the road, powered off the engine, restarted the vehicle, and was able to continue driving. the failure recurred a few times. the vehicle was taken to glenn ford lincoln (4080 lexington rd, nicholasville, ky 40356, (859) 587-9020) where it was diagnosed that the coolant was leaking and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v551000 (engine and engine cooling). the manufacturer informed the contact that the vin was not included in a recall. no further assistance was provided. the approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

Car always sputters after filling gas tank!! faulty evap valve

1. engine standpipe faulty, which causes the ford escape sel to go into crawl mode and then you have to stop and leaves you stranded. the dashboard engine thermometer reads fully hot. this happened in motion on my way to work during winter in erie pa, the snow headquarters. 2. battery goes dead intermittently and leaves you stranded.

Engline light comes on due to coolant leak. leak has been fixed and continues to overheat the engine. most of the coolant container, valves and everything else has been fixed still it continues. something is very wrong. the car is stationery, just after starting it says coolant is low and engine light is on. i have poured money into this car for coolant issues for the past year, and it is still happening.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. the contact took the vehicle to avis ford (29200 telegraph rd, southfield, mi 48034, (248) 355-7500) for routine service. the technician noticed oil leaking into the coolant system. the technician informed the contact that the gasket became loose and caused oil to leak into the coolant system. the gasket needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. in addition, the oil warning indicator illuminated before the vehicle was taken in for service. the manufacturer was contacted and opened case number: cas-14212661. the approximate failure mileage was 129,096.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. the contact stated that the coolant warning indicator illuminated intermittently; however, no leak was found when the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. over time, the mechanic discovered a coolant leak. the contact discovered nhtsa campaign number: 12v431000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the vehicle was not included in the recall. the contact took the vehicle to tindol ford (1901 e franklin blvd, gastonia, nc 28054, (704) 867-8341) and coolant was purchased; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was 65,000.

I have had this vehicle for 3 years with no issues until this month. it first started with the car leaking coolant. come to find out, the entire water pump needed to be replaced due to a crack. once that was replaced, there was still a leak in one of the hoses; that was replaced. then the car is stalling. after a couple of hours of diagnostic testing, a sensor had burnt because of the overheating from the coolant issues previous to the car stalling. the sensor was fixed and i had the car back a week, and the car started stalling again, hesitating to accelerate on the highway, and has a very rough idle where the car shakes. i took it back and no engine code or failures showed up on the computer when the car would stall out. this car stalls if it is sitting for an extended period of time running, or when it is started and i go to accelerate and leave a parking spot or driveway. the battery is brand new, the alternator is providing enough electrical current to power the vehicle, there is currently no explanation to why this car is stalling out. i called ford customer service because there are recalls out for this make, model and engine type, but they told me that because my vin comes back clean, there is nothing they can do. further into my research, there are recalls out for the date my car was manufactured and the plant it was manufactured at but ford is not willing to listen to my concerns/complaints.

I have a ford escape 13 and is always over heating on me,i have had it looked at 5 times , .and they can not fine the problem with it, i go out to get in the car and it gets hot right now ,when i try to drive it, this has been happening ever sense i but the car 12/17

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. the contact observed fluid leaking from the front of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer (ford fairfield, 3050 auto mall ct, fairfield, ca 94534) where it was diagnosed that the engine coolant valve needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic where the coolant was topped off. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a local dealer. the failure mileage was 85,000. the vin was not available.

The water heater hose on my 2013 ford escape has a leak in it. i cannot drive the car unless i fill up the water constantly which is not possible with how far i drive daily. it is part number cv6z-18472-s i took my car in on january 29, 2018 and was told there were 162 on back order and i would receive it by january 27, 2018. today is feb 1 and i was told the part won't be ready till march 7, 2018 and i have to just wait. now there are about 3200 of this part back ordered. why can i not drive my car for a month and a half? if there are over 3k back-ordered why is there not a recall?

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while driving at an unknown speed, the contact noticed that the vehicle began to overheat. the contact referenced an unknown recall regarding a coolant leak and the possibility of the engine head cracking, if not repaired. the contact had the recall repaired in october of 2014. in april of 2016, the vehicle experienced the same failure and drove the vehicle to the dealer (gary ford, 1 beal pkwy nw, fort walton beach, fl 32548) where the technician informed the contact that the failure was caused by a hose that needed to be replaced. the failure was repaired by the dealer. after the vehicle was repaired, the failure continued. the vehicle was driven back to the dealer a few months later where it was diagnosed with an oil leak, a crack in the long block, and coolant in the cylinder. the contact stated that this was the same failure as mentioned in the recall in 2014, which was supposed to be repaired. the manufacturer was notified and stated that only the dealer would be able to assist due to the information on their end stating that the recall had been repaired. the failure mileage was 35,000.

The car hesitates sometimes when pressing the gas, mostly from the stopped position. for instance i've been driving and stop at a stop sign, check for oncoming traffic on the cross street(which does not have a stop sign/signal), when it is safe to proceed i press the gas to cross the intersection and the car slowly rolls out into the intersection and then finally after rolling for a few seconds will pick up and go. this happens while i'm pressing down on the gas pedal all the way. it's very dangerous while trying to cross a street with oncoming traffic. i've tried lifting my foot and pressing back down when the car doesn't move like it's supposed to and it doesn't work. it's only started doing this in the last year or so maybe and it doesn't happen every time, but very scary when it does happen, especially when i have my kids in the car. i've also had it happen when i've been on the freeway and have had to slow down from taking an exit onto another freeway and when trying to get back up to speed and it like it takes it a minute for the car to realize it's supposed to be accelerating.

1/20/18 -driving vehicle to store with heater on, engine light came on, car temperature start going up as if it was over heating, and car started sputtering as if it was going to turn off. made it home, checked coolant, and coolant was full. drove car to ford dealership, this is a known issue; however, my specific vin was not part of the recall so now i am out of pocket $500. service dept. stated that if i did not correct issue asap then coolant could get on engine and start a fire. part that needs to be replaced is the coolant bypass valve. ford needs to extend this recall to all 2013 ford escapes since the issue is bigger than they first expected.

I have been smelling a burning smell when i run my a/c and then a month later it froze up while driving to kansas. then winter time came and now my heater is not heating properly. well i took it to one of the ford dealerships and they said it was fine even though they cleaned up coolant. i was also smelling coolant in my garage and under my hood of my escape. so today i took it to another ford dealership and they said the heater hose is broke. and it's on back order. i could of lost my car due to negligence. there has been a lot of recalls/work already on the cooling system in it. there needs to be a recall on these cars. it's not safe. it sends up red flags since the part is on back order.

In reference to recall number 13s12 back in 2013 with 2013 ford escapes low coolant sensor. my ford escape was "fixed" per this recall 6/3/14 by bomritto ford in hazlewood mo. 3 1/2 years later the exsact part used to fixed the original recall has now become faulty and caused my vehcile to go into limp mode. ford is refusing to replace this part and saying it is the customer responsibility for us to replace a part that was faulty originally and 3 1/2 years later faulty again. i have already replaced my vehicles transmission and computer module in the past year and spent over 3 grand in replacement and labor and this is putting me over the edge. this company does not replace their faulty parts even though they stand behind them. how am i supposed to believe these parts were validly replaced and are not made to last. the engine codes that we are getting are caused from the recall kit that was used to replace the faulty product originally. this kit costs 759 to the consumer and that does not include labor. ford refuses to sell the parts to fix the problem and makes the customer purchase the entire kit. this issue needs to be handled properly because innocent customers are being taken advantage of. my vehicle only has 100k miles and i have already replaced the transmission which was 2700! now this, which was a recall 4 years ago. the issue began on 1/16/2018 out of nowhere. no warning, no light i was driving on a busy road and my car went into overheat mode and i was told by the computer screen to stop my vehicle immediately which i did. i then had to have the car towed to a trusted mechanic that was able to diagnose the vehicle directly to the recall from 2013 as the same exact issue these ford's were having in 2013 which is a fire hazard. ford did not handle this properly, i was hung up on multiple times, i was ignored.

I just bought a 2013 ford escape with 1.6.i purchased this on december 31,2017.the suv was doing great until yesterday and it stalled on me in a parking lot but it started right back up and ran fine.got off work heading home stopped got food and got back in started fine.i was at intersection at light and without warning it lost power shutter and then died.it started right back but light had changed as i waited it start losing power again i jumped into turning lane and as i turned it died again.it did this 6 more times and it finally stayed running to get home.i have only had this escape two weeks and now seeing all these problems i just want this corrected cause i almost got hit in the back due to this stalling.ford needs to take care of this

My 2013 ford escape has been randomly shutting down reading "high engine temperature stop safely", this has occurred 6 times in the past 4 months. the upper heater hose was replaced at the dealership on 12/27/17 for the same issue. however, today when i was going 40 mph i had the same issue occur on the highway. this time smoke was pouring out of the engine and coolant was obviously leaking out of the car. i was on the side of the road with my 4 year old daughter fearing that the car would catch on fire. this car has had 14 recalls, 3 of which are related to engine/coolant problems but ford has explained that they do not understand why my car keeps doing this.

1/11/18 - throughout the driving of our vehicle as a rideshare vehicle, the engine stopped over 20 different occasions while in the drive gear, going down the street, or when trying to pull into traffic. this is becoming an extreme safety issue to all passengers in my vehicle. please do something regarding this issue. the check engine light never comes on, therefore no diagnostic test is able to "recreate" the issue will someone need to die because of this constant stalling before ford will fix the problem? we are extremely frustrated with the non-acknowledgement of there being an issue, when there clearly is, and no one has a solution to fix the constant stalling issues. we are ready to find an attorney an sue, prior to this being a wrongful death suit.

Tl-contact owns a 2013 ford escape ----- contact tried to file a complaint online and complaint would not go through---- vehicle is leaking coolant and ford stated there is nothing wrong with vehicle --- vehicle has been in and out of repair shop numerous times for a coolant leak that dealership cannot find- 76000 miles on vehicle . 0 recalls on vehicle

Tl-contact owns a 2013 ford escape se ----- december 2017 -- error message came up on dash stating pull over unsafe engine temperature ---- contact went online and saw there is a recall on the 2013 escape ---- called ford dealership and they took vehicle in to replace water pump due to being under warranty . dealership stated engine and hoses are no longer under warranty. vehicle has 38000 miles on it---- contact was told her vehicle is not included in recall---- ford manufacturer was recalled ....

I just bought this car used after a week of driving i say a check engine light it was an engine misfire on #3 so i bought spark plugs and a new coil, i installed it, and it drove home fine. then i took it to the dealer for an oil change, who missed it was low on coolant, a message came up saying low coolant the next day. i then kept going between low coolant and check engine until white smoke came out the tail pipe and the car started cutting off. fyi bought all my parts from the dealer spark plugs, coil, coolant, and i tried to address everything right away.

Stalling risk / engine overheating /fire - our 2013 ford escape is currently "grounded" per the dealership because the part we need to repair it is not available indefinitely. it is currently back ordered indefinitely due to a recall of other 2013 ford escapes (safety recall 12s41) that are experiencing the same issue but we are being told that our vehicle is not being covered because of the vin & date of assembly yet it is experiencing the same issue as other 2014 ford escapes. my 17 year old son was driving the vehicle when it powered down and started to overheat. the part in question is 7m5z12a648b sender-asy. i am irate to think that this is a known problem and ford is not covering this under a recall just because of the date and location our vehicle was assembled does not match the current recall. if my 17 year old son was hurt or killed then they would have to step up to the issue. i need help asap. this is a safety hazard and i am paying for it! do we need someone to be killed to identify this as an issue!

Was driving down road and low coolent light came on.car went into safety mode it would not go over 5 miles per hour.got it to auto store added small amount of coolent and it started back up with the check engine light on took it to dealer.january 5 got the car back after need hoses, valve, drove for one day and low coolent light came back on.haven't received the vehicle back yet, called ford called dealer but still with out vehicle millage is 89000

In the summer when i run the a/c we smell burning smell and the dealership that we bought it from told me to just let it catch fire and then they will look at it, and now that i'm running the heater it starts leaking oil. it smells like oil in my garage now. sometimes while pressing on the gas pedal it doesn't go. friday my engine coolant light came on and then went off and then came back on. i'm not sure what's going on but i want a good look at everything.

Was driving on a cold snowy day temp gauge went from c to hot in five seconds then the car check engine light cam on and car limped at about 5 miles hour to side of road engine was cold . checked coolent it was 2 ozs low started up call garage ran codes came up 1299 ford said that normal it's okay to drive took it home every four days had to add coolent took it back. had a part put on the coolent system threw more codes had to have wiring harness put on still leaked coolent ordered hose clamps through ford suppose to be here 1/19/18. now they are saying middle of febury so still with out car.

The vehicle is loosing coolant. start runs and after a couple miles shuts off. will start back up and drive. ford recalled the 2013 ford escapes made up to august 31,2012. mine was made in august 2012. ticking coming from the engine. smokes white smoke when first started.

Engine is suddenly saying high temp engine stop slowly then check engine light wil come on and low coolant fluid. been doing it on and off for a year. takeit to ford dealer and it will not do it for them. fluid is full.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. while driving various speeds, the engine coolant warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to determine the cause of the failure. the contact called pennington ford polaris (807 s van buren st, newton, il 62448) and was informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact also stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v4310000 (engine and engine cooling). the manufacturer was not contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 99,000.

Loses coolant on a regular basis. i've been to the dealership about 10 times in the past 14 months for this issue. they found a leak once but ever since then they "can't find any leaks". my vehicle is now out of warranty and they won't help me anymore but it's still an issue and was before the warranty ran out, so in my opinion it should still be covered. it's been a consistent issue since i purchased the vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford escape. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of engine power and the "vehicle overheating" warning indicator illuminated, while driving at 40 mph. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the coolant leaked out, which resulted in the failure. the vehicle was taken to town and country ford nashville dealer located at 101 anderson ln, madison, tn, but the failure could not be replicated. the manufacturer was notified and transferred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
