Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2008 Ford Edge

I bought this 08 ford edge sel awd with 74000 miles . ive had it less than a year and had the following problems. * stalling. * loud clunking in reverse and jumps into gear. * front driverside and passenger side window pillars are big blind spot. very dangerous almost hit pedestrians. * vehicle rolls back on small inclines. almost rolled into vehicle behind me. very dangerous. * vehicle struggles in reverse up small inclines. * driverside headlight was out for a month cause car needed software update. truck stalled again today this time i turned off and on wouldn't go in reverse instead drove forward almost hitting parked car... still have popping noise in front end clunking noise in reverse sometimes again.. im starting to get nervous cuz my daughter was in the car with me. - emailed to ford service center rep. oct. 1st. ford mechanics say there is nothing wrong with vehicle yet it has stalled 4x and has problems in reverse . car has been in the shop 6x for same issue . im tired of bringing it back and forth.

In august 2015 my wife was driving the vehicle at 45 mph on a four lane road when the vehicle came to a sudden crawl approx .10 mph. this was on a city street.she could barely get off the road with limited power. she called me to come to the scene and we had to have the vehicle towed to our mechanic. at the time, the vehicle had 61,000 miles on it. the mechanic called and stated the problem code showed it was the output speed sensor (oss) and it would need to be replaced along with the fluid. upon picking up the vehicle, it was repaired properly and was back to normal. it was repaired by a ase master mechanic. the delay in reporting this incident is two fold. since the august 2015 incident, i have since discovered checking on-line there are numerous cases of the 2007 & 2008 ford edge doing this. recently, i parked next to a lady loading her groceries in a 2008 ford edge. when i asked her how she liked her edge, you guessed it, they were on a family trip when the oss went out on hers. she stated hers was fixed under warranty . my repair cost $370.00 which was a fair price. it is my personal opinion, ford knows this is a major safety issue but the facts are enough people to not complain to nhtsa and this keeps from ford having to announce a recall on the 2007 & 2008 ford edge.

Most recent 8/14/2015, pulled out into traffic and the car lost power, but the engine was still running. rpm's will go up, but the car will not move. reverse works. took it to auto zone, no codes will come up. when i bought it off the lot (9 months ago) it was working just fine and has been going down ever since. since last november (11/2014) when i bought the car, when driving the cars speedometer will drop down to zero and a wrench light will come on with a few other lights and act like it is stuck in a high gear. after tuning the car completely off (key out of ignition and door opening and closing) and checking fluids i started the car back up and heard a loud clunk and when i put it into drive there was another clunk and after getting the car up to about 10mph (the car is still acting like its stuck in a high gear) there was another loud clunk and the transmission would catch and act like nothing happened. this process repeats ever single day unless i drive it with the over drive off, then it will still happen but about only twice a month. ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk3itic2-rs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=px3sc2ycmeo i have called ford corporate after googling the problem and seem there are 1000's of cases explaining the same thing and they will only tell me "that's odd seems like your car is the only one that's doing this". i have taken it to several dealership, none of which will do anything because they cannot find a code. even when the car has a wrench light on and will barley move. this problem needs to get resolved before a severe accident occurs. have i mentioned this is my only car? from what i have read it could be a couple different sensors and if this is not resolved this was the only and last ford i will ever own.

Vehicle began leaking lubricant from the power take-off unit onto the exhaust pipe ahead of the catalytic converter creating a potential fire hazard. dealership required replacing the ptu at a cost of $1845.40.

Takata recall - vehicle loses speed control power while driving. wrench light comes on indicating service needed. when vehicle shuts off, resets itself and able to drive 100-150 miles and then the wrench light comes on again. called dealership and was told that in order to identify the problem, the wrench light would have to be on for them to diagnose the issue. my sister does not drive much, so when it happened again, she happened to be close to an auto zone store and she stopped to have them to read the code in order to get the error reading. the code was p0715 - referring to turbine input speed shaft sensor. this is a safety issue and ford should recall this as it is a known issue. i purchased this vehicle for my sister 6 months ago. at the the time in which i bought this car for my sister, 2 weeks later she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and cannot drive. she has her son or daughter to drive her to her medical appointments and where ever she needs to go. the last thing i need is for her to be involved in an accident and potentially die from a defect in which the manufacturer could have prevented. ford needs to issue a recall on this before people are seriously injured or die. why wait until something bad happens before you fix the issue is beyond anything that i can comprehend.

Driving straight on freeway at 70 mph and the dash suddenly displays odo error. wrench light, low tire pressure light, and air bag light come on. speedometer shows 0 mph but tach still works. after i stop the car and try to take off again it has no pickup. transmission seems to be stuck in 5th gear or overdrive. tach goes up to 2500 rpm but vehicle barely moves. when i shift from park to drive or reverse the engine/transmission makes a horrible clunking noise that makes me think it will come out of the body. the only way i can get the car driveable again is to disconnect battery for a few minutes then reconnect. everything resets and works but occurs again-sometimes a week later, sometimes a couple of months later.

Driving and a major road the car suddenly slowed down, it looked like someone put the brakes on, someone almost hit me from the back. after that, the car was jerking and shaking and made load noises. unable to drive the car in drive i put the car on low gear and drove to the dealer. i was told yesterday that it is a transmission problem the cost 5,200 dollars. in november 2014 the car was leaking transmission fluid and was told it was the ptu the car only had 62,000 miles.i was told that was not covered and cost me 1,800 dollars updated 09/08/15*lj updated 12/05/2017*cn

As i was driving, dash flashed "odo data error", then wrench light came on followed by airbag, tpm, engine light, basically all warning lights, odometer went to zero, loss of accelaration, pulled over and placed in park, car was revving high, turned car off and restarted, same, put on drive, stepped on gas, car revved but no movement. turned car off and waited couple minutes, restated, warning lights disappeared, odometer back to actual mileage. put on drive, step on gas, hesitation then loud transmission thump and car started moving again.

Vehicle often shifts hard. in the (7) years that we've had the 2008 ford edge, there have been (6) occasions that we have been travelling 60 to 70 mph and the speedometer will fall to zero, and the odometer will read "odometer data error". we can still travel at 60mph or so but the engine rpms climb to 3000 and you lose power. you can't climb a hill, except in reverse, and unless you're on level ground you can't move at all. the "wrench" lights up on the dash and the only way to get out of this situation is to stop the vehicle, turn off the ignition and wait for 5 to 10 minutes for everything to reset. i'm very concerned for my family's safety on the highways as they travel without me quite often.

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 ford edge. while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled independently. the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to operate. the contact had to jiggle the gear for the vehicle to operate normally. the failure recurred four times. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the cause of the failure was undetermined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 105,000. the vin was not provided.

While you start to drive from a stop light or stop sign, the car will not shift out of low and the engine will rev up and car will be at a crawl while trying to cross the intersection safely. while backing up, the transmission seems to slam it into reverse where you hear a loud bang and the car suddenly jerks as if you have hit something. while accelerating to get onto the freeway, the transmission shifts into low gear, stays in low and can't get up the speed to get on the freeway safely. the problem occurred at first sporadically, then when i would get home, turn off the car and then wait for a few minutes, it was as if the computer had reset and it worked find. as time went on, it occurred more frequently and turning off the vehicle was not an option. i have recently replaced the transmission and no more problems have occurred. mileage on my vehicle is approximately 102k miles, but the problem started occurring around 58k miles.

Vehicle transmission failed in highway speed traffic ,starting with large clunks and erratic shifting, total loss of acceleration ,leading to very unsafe travel on freeway. no shoulder on road, stopped with no power to transmission .state police cordoned off the area enough for tow 45 min. later . still having problems with erratic stopping and going, sometimes you have to go to 3000 rpm until trans mission catches and causes unsafe acceleration . only 50k on vehicle and ford does not acknowledge a problem ,many other complaints and video found on the web you-tube and such . how many complaints or injury's before a recall? please respond. thank you!

Gradual problems with transmission while driving, occurred on freeway, surging, electrical problems with panel, no speedometer, airbag light on, tire pressure monitor inop. transmission slipping, and had bang in reverse. parked and turned off. when turned back on, transmission in complete failure. had transmission rebuilt through firestone, $4300.00.

I was driving between 40-45 mph on a main road just after 12 am when the dashboard lit up. the check engine/wrench & airbag lights came on, the odometer displayed an 'odo data error' message (no mileage), & the speedometer needle dropped to 0 mph despite still traveling at 40-45 mph (i relied on my cell phone's gps for my traveling speed). the vehicle was responsive, braking, accelerating, & decelerating normally, as i looked for somewhere to pull over. i came to a full stop at a red light & when the light turned green, i pushed down on the gas pedal but the vehicle was nearly unresponsive. i fully pushed down on the gas pedal but the car only gained enough speed to crawl through the intersection. i pulled into a parking lot just past the intersection, put the car in park, shut it off, & waited 5 minutes before turning it back on. the warning lights were off & the odometer message was gone but when i shifted into drive, there was a loud, wrenching sound & the entire car jerked...still barely able to accelerate & the speedometer staying at 0, unresponsive to the gas pedal. i shifted into reverse with the same results. after a few unsuccessful attempts with the same results, i called for a ride & left the car in the parking lot, arranging a tow to the ford dealer where it was purchased. the ford service department did a test drive in their lot & the vehicle was operating normally but pulled computer error codes indicating faulty sensors (the output speed sensor & turbine speed sensor, which weren't 'communicating properly'). i took the vehicle to a local shop for repair since it had just run out of warranty. i'm lucky bethis could have been a much more dangerous situation if it had happened on a busy road or a road with a higher speed limit and fewer stops.

I have a 2008 ford edge. i have been putting up with many issues until the last one i experienced last year. my usual problems have been when on an incline & trying to go forward, the car will go backwards causing you to have your foot on the brake and the gas at the same time so you will not hit the car behind you. also the transmission shifts very hard. when driving the vehicle will jerk for no apparent reason. but the last problem that caused me to park the vehicle was when it just stopped accelerating in the middle of traffic. i was fortunate to be able to coast to a nearby parking lot. i am afraid to drive this vehicle now. i cannot afford to take it to a dealership to have repairs right now.

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 ford edge. while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate and felt as if it would stall. the vehicle jerked when attempting to accelerate. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 77,000.

This has been an ongoing problem for a while now (years). what is happening is my transmission is struggling to shift into gear, but more often when traveling at approximately 15-25 mph. at this speed, it will shift but oftentimes when it shifts there is a thud and hard jerk, almost seeming as my transmission is going to drop right out of my car. when i first had this diagnosed, the dealership thought perhaps my pcm needed recalibrated. shortly after the recalibration, the entire pcm fried and it needed replaced. luckily, it was covered under an 80,000 mile warranty (my car had about 75,000 miles on it...phew). needless to say, after the entire pcm replacement, my car still struggles to shift and, unfortunately, it seems like i am not the only one having this problem. *tr

While traveling at a high rate of speed the car dropped into a lower gear. the dashboard displayed several error messages including the check powertrain symbol (lighted wrench) and a odp speed warning. little to no power being transferred to the wheels. *tr

1st occurrence: the vehicle's speedometer went to 0 and warning lights came on. as the vehicle slowed and i tried to accelerate out of traffic, the vehicle would not move. it seemed to be stuck in a high gear. i sat on the side of the road and was almost robbed while i was waiting on my husband to arrive for help. after my husband arrived and the car had been off for about 30 minutes, he started it and it drove like normal. 2nd occurrence: about 1 month later, the same thing happened with the vehicle, fortunately i was closer to home. my husband ran through the same process of allowing the car to cool off and restarting it. after some investigation online, this issue seems to be a common problem with the ford edge. it appears to be a pair of sensors, called the turbine sensor and transmission speed sensor. it also appears that these sensors cost about $800 to replace. if this is such a common problem, why has there not been a recall from ford? *tr

Sometimes the transmission will not drive the car after a stop or if changing from drive to reverse or reverse to drive. rpm will go very high and only move the car very slowly. at other times there will be a bad shift or a strange sound. this can happen any time, when first starting out for the day, after running for a time, after a long drive or after stopping for a turn, red light, stop sign or just slowing down. the dealer says there is nothing wrong. also noise coming from the rear while in motion. i believe the sensors are intermittent as i had a similar problem with my dodge caravan which went away after i replaced the sensors myself because the repair station told me there was nothing wrong after 3 attempts to have the problem rectified. you are all supposed to be professional experts so fix the problem.

Was driving on freeway about to exit and transmission sounded as if it got stuck on 2nd gear. engine sounded loud at high rpms and my speed dropped. i got the vehicle towed to my well trusted mechanic and he concluded that my transmission needs to be replace. vehicle only has 65,500 miles. *tr

The transmission (automatic) will not go out of the first gears. there was a loud thud noise and then the car wouldn't shift, i had to put it in neutral and then back into drive to get it to work several times. *tr

Traveling at highway speed, dashboard lights up with check engine light, airbag light, get odometer failure, speedometer stops working, followed by a tire pressure sensor failure. transmission stops shifting properly including a loss of power especially when resuming from a stop. *tr

I just been told by koons that i would have to pay 1,300 to fix a throttle issue on my 2008 ford edge, which i purchased as a used vehicle labor day special 2014. the car stalls, stops, acceleration is affected. ford knows the throttles are faulty and instead of recalling, they did a customer satisfaction and agreed to repair affected edge from 2009-2014. this is bogus i have 2008, which that has this issue. i refuse to pay this and don't have the money to invest in junk. koons told me because of my hesitation i was investigating in a car that has valued equity & would offer great trade. they knew..they yet put me in another dangerous car. i had accident as well, driving ca lost speed & stalled while crossing over in parking lot. *tr

I have a 2008 ford edge and in the past i have had it at the dealer for the transmission slamming as i slowed and excelerated on state and township roads. also for the vehicle reving high and moving slow from a stop. lately i've been having the same issues and on saturday 1/16/2016 i noticed a grease like substance under my car. upon contacting a mechanic he stated that the leak was from the ptu and that the ford edge is known for this problem and that it would cost between $1700 and $2400 to replace the ptu. i purchased this vehicle new in january 2009 and had the extended warranty until 2015. the excelleration issue is as i travel on highways and the vehicle doesn't excelerate. i have to slow down or stop andturn off the vehicle to correct the problem. i feel these issues may cause an accident while traveling on major highway (i-95, rt 202, rt263) that i travel frequently. i feel that with the complaints in regard to this matter, that it should be checked by ford and repair or replace the defective parts.

This has happened twice in the last two weeks. once at 45 mph, once at 60 mph. speedometer goes to zero despite maintaining speed. display shows od data error. airbag, tire pressure, and wrench lights come on. pull over, turn off engine. restart. reset button. transmission feels like it is in a higher gear, shifts hard little acceleration power.. once you get it to shift up to a high gear seems to shift/drive normal. *tr

I have a 2008 ford edge, i have been noticing over the past few months that at random times the car will lurch forward when accelerating as if it suddenly received a burst of speed. one day i was at a stop light and i took my foot off the brake so that i could drive and the car wouldn't move and when i pressed harder on the accelerator there was a loud bang noise that sounded like the car suddenly clicked into drive. it has been happening more and more often where it lags and sticks and lurches forward when it finally wants to go. today, it had serious issues where i was trying to accelerate and the car was instead slowing down and lurching forward with the sound of the engine straining and making noise. i had to pull over because the cars behind me had to go around me. i was extremely nervous that the car would stall in the middle of the road or cause an accident. when i pulled over and turned the car off and then turned it back on the problem seemed to lessen i only drove at a low speed to avoid an accident. i have two children and this car is unsafe to drive. i will take it to the dealership asap. it also rolls backward on an incline. ford needs to do a recall on this vehicle because i have done some online research today and see that many many people have experienced the same problems. this is an extremely dangerous issue and needs to be addressed.

My husband was driving with me and our 2 children on the highway at 70 mph. all gauges (fuel, speedometer, odometer, etc.) stopped working and the odometer read "odo data error". we had a gps that we were using and displayed our speed, so we kept going the 5 miles to our planned stop along the way home. when we restarted the car, the gauges were back up but it made a loud thumping sound when changing gears. it reversed fine (but we were on a slope), then thumped again as we switched to drive. the car only revved and did not move. we reversed again to situate ourselves so the slope was in our favor when we switched to drive. it was a tough start, but it did go. i called the dealership to report (this was on a saturday) and was told that i could bring it in, but they wouldn't be able to look at it until tuesday. we made it home (another hour drive), but i'm not using the car again until i drive it to the dealership. the car is not accelerating properly. *tr

Driving along the freeway, when all of a sudden i noticed the dimming of lights in my car, and then the speedometer and engine odometer (revs) all dropped to 0, along with the wrench signal coming on, along with the airbag signal coming on, and then eventually the tire pressure signal coming on. the car lost acceleration and i was able to get off the freeway at the next exit. i tried to put my foot on the accelerator, i could hear the engine revving but the car only moving at 10 miles an hour, wouldn't go any faster, although i could hear it, it wouldn't click over, or accept the change in gear. *tr

While at a stop sign on a small sloped road, my vehicle rolled backwards when i let go of the brake to accelerate from a stopped position. there were children walking behind me and i almost rolled into them. in addition, while parked in a forward position on a small sloped driveway, i was unable to drive out of the driveway without applying my foot to the brake and the gas at the same time. i almost hit the car in front of me. i brought it to the ford dealership and was told this is how the ford edge is designed and this is normal. essentially, i need to hit the brake and gas when on a slight slope. this is very disturbing and dangerous. *tr

I was driving down the highway when my speedometer and odometer stopped working. then it told me i had a error and a fault in my tire pressure system. my airbag light came on, indicating that it was off. i pulled over and turned off the vehicle. when i started it back up all the error messages cleared, but when i went to put my car into drive it sounded as if the transmission had dropped. i tried driving only to rev the engine up to 3000 rpm with barely any movement. when ever shifting from drive or reverse it made that loud popping noise. i took it to a dealership to be told it stopped doing it but they didn't fix it. they made no repairs. they are letting me pick the car up and drive it again with out any actual resolution, but they did charge me money to "look at the car". do people actually have to die for someone to issue a recall? i am reading thousands of reviews about the edge that experiences the same problems. lets issue a recall and develop some accountability! *tr

While preparing to stop at a light, seemed to have lost all power. speedometer dropped to zero, airbag light came on and odometer was blank with a readout in its place that said something like odo failure also the wrench icon lit up. shifted to park and the car jumped and jerked and loud grinding noises came from transmission. was able to creep to a side street. turned off engine . waited several minutes , restarted car and the instrument panel returned to normal. drove home about 3 miles. took it to shop and they said it was a shaft seal. they replaced it for $182.00 the part was $12. got home and it leaks very badly it has leaked about a cup of fluid in 4 hours.(this was parked / not running) i am taking it back to the shop and hoping they can fix it right. i have been driving for over 30 years and never had this kind of problem. *tr

I was getting into the exit lane about 50 mph when my car comes to a sudden slow down of about 5 mph. lucky i was already slowing down.could have been a bad situation had i not been exiting the freeway. *tr

Driving around 45 mph in stop and go traffic, hit the brakes then the gas to no power at all i was barely moving in bumper to bumper traffic and when the traffic started moving again i was caught in the middle of 4 lanes of traffic barely at a crawl. i could have been killed just trying to get to the shoulder ! this problem is just as life threatening as the latest recall because of the bad key/starter issue. are they going to wait to recall till we're killed driving our ford edge? am i the only one that has noticed all the complaints just this year involving the 2008 ford edge for this same issue? please recall. *tr

I sent an email to the ford company , we have a 2008 ford edge we bought new we have always had an issue with the transmission and the car not moving unless you stop and restart it, the issue was so sporadic from the 1st year that we have had in the dealership several times and they cant seem to find a problem, the car would have the air bag, wrench and low tire light on and the odometer would be all dashes, you could floor it and the tach will move but the speedometer would not move and the car would barely move, lately the issue has become an everyday thing yet still the dealership cant find the problem,i was checking online and found that many people are having the same issue with their edge, many videos showing the exact problem ,my ford dealer is looking at it again. we can not be the only one having this issue. *tr

Kept loosing transmission fluid. dealer told me power train at a price of 1400 + this is a fault of the edge model with awd. *tr

I have only had my edge a month, had it checked bumper to bumper before purchase (i work at an auto shop) and read reviews online. i wish i had seen these complaints about the transmission and hard shifting/revving before purchase!! as soon as i bought it, within a few days when i would leave work and try to accelerate it hesitates, clunks loudly, then finally catches and takes off.. i've already had new plugs/boots/coils done, new belts and flushes done. yesterday was the worst - i was taking off from a red light and as i was pressing the pedal it revved and jerked and banged. so glad i haven't even made my first payment yet and seeing these complaints, already know i'm going to be sinking massive money into this vehicle! please recall ford!!! i've driven crappy cars my entire life, i finally get something that looks nice i see is just another money pit lemon! *tr

Drove the car to work without any issue. after work, i drove to a nearby convenience store by my house and had no issue. i left the store and stopped at a red light. when the light turned green, i stepped on the gas pedal but the car barely moved and was laboring. i checked to make sure i wasn't on the l gear but it wasn't because i was on d. i kept pressing on the gas and noticed a wrench light on in the dashboard. i made it home at less than 10 miles per hour which was the fastest that the car would go. *tr

Driving through parking lot when shift between gears becomes very rough. engine revs- but car has no forward movement. we were able to get the car in reverse, and back in to a parking space. we shut the car off- turned the car back on and the issue was resolved- still shifted a little hard. *tr

I pulled out of my driveway and everything was fine. i pulled out of my neighborhood and as soon as i gave it any good amount of gas it starting driving really rough and shaking and the a/c went out you could hear the misfire on the cylinders and the transmission was revving high before it would shift gears. no check engine lights or anything at this point. i turned back around and took my car back home turned it off and then turned it back on and that's when the check engine light came on. we pulled the code and it was p0352 (ignition coil 2 or pcm) so we bought and changed all spark plugs and coil 2. this still didn't fix the problem. so i took it in to the dealership and $3000 later they had to replace my pcm (the main computer that run the car) all 6 coils and spark plugs. i did a lot of research about my car having this problem and it seems like a lot of people are having the same issue. please recall this. my computer should not have gone out when i do regular maintenance on my car. *tr

I was driving under normal conditions at about 35 mph when the transmission seemed to be slipping and the wrench came on the dash and the car lost all power . i came to a stop and shut the car off and checked the transmission fluid and it was good. i started the car again and it would rev high but barely move. i got home slowly and parked it and when i came back out later and tried it, all the power was back and the wrench was gone and it didn't clunk into gears like it was earlier. i think by shutting it off and taking out the key for a couple hours reset a computer glitch in this car. i have heard many stories just like mine and speaking for many 08 edge owners we want this recalled. this could result in tons of mechanic bills and unanswered issues for owners. *tr

Vehicle lost all power while driving in traffic and steering locked when turning the corner at intersection causing loss of control of vehicle. this has happened on several occasions under random conditions. weather conditions, vehicle temperature, speed, direction, braking or acceleration does not have any factors when this happens. the vehicle shuts off randomly and power is lost. no codes or warning of any kind. ford factory has investigated, wiring harness to the mass airflow sensor has been replaced but still continues to have the same problem. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 ford edge. the contact stated while driving approximately 25 mph, an extremely strong burning odor emitted inside of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis, who informed that the power train would need to be replaced. the vehicle had not been repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the issue. the approximate failure mileage was 44,243.

Hello, my 2008 ford edge is having a lot of transmission fricking issues !!!! shifting hard into reverse and from 1st to 2nd !!! *tr

The vehicle revs up but doesn't go anywhere then jerks into gear. *tr

Bought my 2008 ford edge 3 years ago with no problems. had some work done after a wreck year and a half ago. after the repair, it began jerking whether i was on the highway or city streets. i noticed that when it jerks, i lose rpms at the same time. i have to hit the gas to get it to accelerate. feels like the gears are slipping and it doesn't happen t consistent speeds. some days are worse than others and some days doesn't occur at all. it will also idle rough and had before jerked when going from reverse to drive. also, april 2014, i was backing into a parking spot when the car completely died. i turned the ignition off and then started the car again. it started right up. that is the only time that has happened. *tr

I backed up into the street leaving my driveway, i put it in drive to move forward and went about 50 feet and the car jerked and would not move anymore, i tried to press on the accelerator and the car would not go. this is not an acceptable issue, i feel that if my wife was in the car on the freeway this would have been bad. *tr

My family and i were coming home from a nice day out, we stopped at the stop light and when the light turned green we went to accelerate and there was no power, my dash lit up with a low tire pressure code, a wrench code " awd/powertrain issue" and a air bag code my odometer stopped working and the digital mileage only displayed dashes. once we were able to make it thru the light "barely" we pulled to the side of the road where we could safely check out the vehicle. once we determined no flat tire we tried to move forward but the vehicle would only crawl and this was putting the gas pedal all the way down. we were finally able to make it home we shut the vehicle off and when we restarted and put into gear we heard a loud clunk and the vehicle shook and rattled. i researched online i found this has happened frequently to many other ford edge owners with no safety recall from ford ???? this is crazy someone is going to get hurt because of this issue . *tr

After exiting hwy i was slowing down at a stop light. at about 25 mph my dash lights lit up. wrench, tire pressure and air bag lights are lit. speed-o was not working. after light turned green the car would not accelerate without pushing gas to the floor and rpm's reached 5000rpm's as i was going through a very busy 4 way intersection. i pulled off tue side of the road and put car in park. while shifting back into drive the transmission did a very loud clunk as it shifted through reverse and neutral to drive. after turning car off and letting set for many minutes it never reset or resolved it's self. this is a very serious situation and needs to be resolved by ford asap. *tr
