My 2014 dodge journey was parked in my garage, i tried to start up the car and it did not want to turn on. on the dash the following appeared and flashed several times before turning off: a red lightning bolt and airbag. the transmission light also flashed in yellow however it did stay on. i tried again several times. it kept giving me the message to service park assist. . i read some forums online as more people have experienced this issue with their dodge journey?s (ranging from 2009-2016 models) two gentlemen stated if you place the car in neutral and then start the vehicle it would crank up however my car did not. the brake pedal seems stuck and extremely hard to press down as well but that?s usually like that for me on any given day to start my car. i attempted to start up the vehicle again and the dash then stated it did not detect the key but the key was inside the car with me, again all lights turning on, flashing and then turning off. i am aware there are some previous and more recent recalls with this vehicle. also when i open ...

While cleaning my vehicle in my drive way i noticed a compartment under my steering wheel showing. i then took it too a dodge dealership for a recall that i received in the mail and i also asked about the cloth like material showing under my steering wheel. the young man notified me that it was the airbag coming out from under the steering wheel as well as a sensor/electrical problem. i am a new mom to be and having a newborn in this vehicle is unexceptionable. this vehicle is only a few years old with so many recalls. im so disappointed

Problem started with 2014 didge journey sxt going into limp mode. code that appeared were throttle body sensor, changed that. it went into limp mode immediately after and code was throttle body, changed that. it went into limp mode immediately again. same codes. sent to shop they said it was the transmission, $220 for an overhaul of that. 2 to 3 weeks after, limp mode again. same codes. brought it to dodge dealership and the diagnosis it saying i need a new pcm and wire harness. those items were replaced. 2 to 3 weeks after that work. car goes into limp mode again while on the hwy. car is currently at dodge dealership again, now they're saying it's the starter causing the problem. this issue has been since july 2019 and is still ongoing, last limp mode was sunday december 15, 2019. i have tons of documentation of the work that has been done please advise if you should need any

The radio will randomly turn stations and just completely go black. the a/c turns itself on and off. the airbag lights keep randomly coming up and then go away.this all happens rather i'm driving fast, slow, or stopped at a light and has happened since purchasing the car a year ago. i'm also having an issue with the check engine light coming on with it being the p0420. i only use mid grade gas and only from exxon or chevron. i also make sure the gas cap is on tightly. the check engine light will be on one day and not the next.

My 2014 dodge journey was parked in my drive way, i tried to start up the car and it did not want to turn on. on the dash the following appeared and flashed several times before turning off: a red lightning bolt and airbag. the transmission light also flashed in yellow however it did stay on. i originally thought it needed a battery replacement so with battery jumper cables we attempted to get the journey to start and it refused to start even after leaving the cars connected for several minutes. i read some forums online as more people have experienced this issue with their dodge journey's (ranging from 2009-2016 models) two gentlemen stated if you place the car in neutral and then start the vehicle it would crank up however my car did not. the brake pedal seems stuck and extremely hard to press down as well but that's usually like that for me on any given day to start my car. i attempted to start up the vehicle again without using jumper cables and the dash then stated it did not detect the key but the key was inside the car with me, again all lights turning on, ...

The back up camera is intermittent and does not work. the outside temperature gauge is off by 20 degrees the tire pressure gauge does not work. this all happens when the vehicle is started. the back up camera does not work when i put it in reverse.

My cruise control quit working and the traction control light came on and it wouldn't turn off. the doors started locking and unlocking by themselves. i went to church and stopped at food city afterwards. i started the vehicle and put it in reverse and i can smell something weird and it was like the brake was stuck and it was holding back. i proceeded because i was in traffic and needed to move. acceleration was limited but i made it home which was less than a mile. when stopped there was smoke rolling out from under the front passenger side area and there was fluids running all over the ground. this was a very dangerous situation because i had my children in the car. there is a scrubbing and pecking noise but it sounds like it's coming from the rear end. i have had nothing but problems with this vehicle. check engine light is on but it's been on. i've had it checked and shows nothing wrong and had it turned off and it continues to come on. alternator has been replaced as well as new battery. it seems to have electrical issues with the doors locking ...

Dashboard lights, cabin lights and radio constantly going off and on while driving. this happens while highway driving and on the street.

About three weeks ago, the abs and check light came on, i researched recalls and took car to schlossmann's dodge city. i was advised that due to weather and water leaking into wire harness that it was corroded. in which this is the basis of the r61 recall. however, since my issue is with left wheel sensor and not the front right, it is not covered. i am wondering what the difference is - if the result and cause is the same - why would it not be covered? i have also noticed that the cruise control no longer works - is this related?

The wiring harness at the hatch area is breaking causing the rear lights to fail.

The rear window defrost dash control keeps blinking and with that i have no control over the hvac system. it is constantly on low '1' blow power and it isn't only blowing cold. in the north east in winter (today was 6 degrees and tha ksfiving day where all auto shops are closed) it is not safe. there is a crunching sound in the dash, as though something is trying to turn. anyone else have this issue?

There are more problems with the car. there have been nothing but problems with this car since i bought it when it was brand new. it's only 4 years old. it leaks oil now too! i feel very unsafe driving this car with my children in it. there have been 9 recalls and now i see there are 2 that i haven't had done. this should be a lemon. this car is unsafe and i am still paying on this car. a car that has nothing but steering, electrical, air bag, engine and other numerous problems. i should be able to give this car back and walk away from it. this car is not safe! no one should be driving it! i had my oil changed and the next day it said i needed my oil changed. the driver window screeches, the steering wheel locks up, the car lags when i go to break. when i try to accelerate the car stalls and revs super high. the engine smells as if it were on fire. it's not safe. i'm very upset. i have 3 little children. i need my car to be safe and reliable. this car is neither. there ...

Car shuts off in the middle of driving. power steering and breaks go out. very dangerous, without any warning the car just turns off. it has happened at all different speeds and while turning. i was driving the car on the freeway with my kids and car suddenly shut off.

Wife got into car to go to store told me done lights would not go off. i tried every switch in the car but nothing would turn them off. i sent her to store anyway knowing that battery would not die in that amount of time. wife returned from grocery store stating something smells hot. i looked in car again and i also smelled burnt wiring. i looked at the middle seat light and saw smoke. i quickly popped the lens off the dome light and saw dripping melting plastic. i disconnected the light and tossed it out in the lawn. dodge sent an inspector to look at the event and i received a letter stating that any done light will become hot if left on. i asked them if they were supposed to smoke, melt and almost drip on a 3 year old child's head. even the harness melted. they don't think this is a big deal but i believe (and other people have looked at it ) believe it is. very dangerous! i've left a dome light on in many cars over the years and none started melting. i've tried to relay this to dodge but ...
