We have classified the 435 complaints from 2013 Dodge Dart about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
Clutch went completely to the floor and had to veer car into a terrain in order to avoid being run over by dump truck directly behind. there was no warning and car is fairly new. (was purchased new). quick investigation, and there is a law suit with chrysler indicating they are aware of this defect but their dealerships are not and refused to repair without charging. insisted i take car to another place that really works on dodges (???). this lost of gear shifting is going to get someone killed! unfortunately it is hard to reach me by telephone but i would really like to have some details as to how to handle this issue. i had an independent dealer "who really works on dodges" to repair and they confirmed the clutch was defective and caused it to crash and burn. i'm not the only one who has experienced this. *tr
I have a 2013 dodge dart rallye. i bought it used in january 2015. it has the 1.4 multi air turbo with 6 spd manual transmission. my problem is just about every morning or after the car sets for a few hours when i try to start the car i push the clutch pedal in to start the car and i go to put the car in gear and it won't go in gear with my clutch pedal to the floor and the car trys to move when i try to put it in gear so i let off the clutch and it sticks half way to the floor so i have to pump it for about 2 minutes or until the car warms up just to put it in gear i did research on this and apairently alot of people with this car have been having this same problem and chrysler wants to charge me just to take a look at it because it is out of warranty this issue really needs to be looked into.
Purchased car brand new. have driven manual transmissions for 40 years and have never ruined a clutch or any part of the transmission. i was driving all the road and going up a hill and attempted to downshift to get up the steep hill. the clutch went down to the floor and the shifter wouldn't allow any shifting. i veered off the road and call tow truck. i had car towed to landmark dodge, morrow, ga 30260, and after weeks they say the entire transmission was burned up and broken into pieces?? well, 1st week they ordered wrong part, 3 week they said they had to remove the entire transmission and today (4 weeks later) they said they feel it is a case of customer abuse and want 1500.00 to repair. i told them up front a certified technician looked at the issue prior to me having pulled to them and he said, "this is defective". he also printed out info from the internet of other dodge dart 2012-2013 with the very same issue. clutch to the floor, and even a class action suit. i will have to get it fixed (but not at landmark). [xxx] @1-800-992-1997 chrysler, took [xxx] ' , service director, landmark dodge, word that it looks like i burned up the entire transmission and that i would need to have it towed, at my expense, to another dodge dealer because landmark wasn't certified to work on dodges. i keep thinking about the dump truck right on my rear who nearly ran me off the road due to loss in shifting power. this could have been lethal and others are having the same problem. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
I was at a stop light, when i attempted to put the car in 1st gear to go the shifter went all the way to reverse, i did not pull the reverse slide selector (not sure what it is officially called, normally you have to pull up on it to be able to access reverse gear). i was lucky to realize it before i started letting out the clutch as there was a car behind me. i was able to find first gear and start moving, i.e. get out of the way of the cars behind me. then as i was down shifting at the next light i couldn't find 2nd or first gear, however it would go into reverse, again, without pulling up the slide selector that should stop the shifter from going all the way over. i got the car home and popped the boot off the gear shift and there is a cable hanging free, it appears to be what should be controlling the reverse gear selector. the car is not under warranty. this is extremely dangerous, had i let the clutch out i would have hit the car behind me. if you are driving the car at highway speeds and attempt to downshift the car and end up in reverse you could easily cause an accident, or worse, kill someone. i intend to notify my dealer on monday, however as the car is not under warranty they are not obligated to do anything about it. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 dodge dart. while driving 35 mph, the check engine and service transmission warning lights illuminated and the transmission failed. the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. the contact stated that the software was updated, but the failure recurred twice. the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v542000 (power train) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 6,000. parts distribution disconnect.
2013 dodge dart equipped with a 1.4-liter engine and dual-clutch transmission had 3 incidents on 2 different days - safety hazard! faulty mechanics! *tr 1/13 - vehicle stalled when turning right onto on-ramp at interstate going 35mph, took several tries to get vehicle restarted 1/14 - vehicle stalled when turning right onto outer road going 45mph, almost got rear-ended! 1/14 - vehicle stalled after turning right from on-ramp at interstate going 70mph, almost got hit! we researched issues and found there is a recall for this exact problem, but i wasn't notified as my vin wasn't on the recall list. what?! i encountered two close calls and when calling chrysler was told there was nothing they could do if my vin was not on the recall list. i don' get it, i thought the manufacturer or nhtsa could put a vin on the recall list. what do i have to do to get my vehicle on this list? do i need a lawyer to do this? please advise as to what my next steps are to get my vin on the recall list. seriously dissatisfied *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving at 65 mph, the vehicle shifted into neutral without warning and caused the vehicle to decelerate. the failure recurred twice. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 27,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact stated the vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 15v542000 (power train). the contact stated while driving 5 mph, the service transmission warning light illuminated. the accelerator pedal was depressed however the vehicle failed to respond. the contact stated tht the gear shift lever was shifted from neutral to reverse to drive for the vehicle to operate as designed. the contact stated that the vehicle still hesitated while driving. the vehicle was taken to (sleepy hollow chrysler dodge jeep, inc. located at 1310 n main st, viroqua, wi 54665), where it was diagnosed. the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the contact stated he able to restart the computer on his own but continued to experience the failure. the vehicle was also taken to local (bergstrom chrysler dodge jeep ram of oshkosh located at 3650 jackson drive rd, oshkosh, wi 54901-1216, where it was suggested that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer had been informed of failure. the failure mileage was 32,000.
Car consumes 1qt of oil every 1000 miles. the valvetrain is hydraulic and when low the car stutters and stalls.
While traveling at a steady 45 mph with the transmission in "drive", the vehicle sounded an audible alert. the dashboard displayed a message that said "service transmission" and the check engine light came on. at this point, i found that the vehicle was no longer under power and was acting as though it had shifted to neutral. i pulled from the roadway. while stopped, i shifted the vehicle to park. the dashboard display advised me to shift the car to neutral and then to drive or reverse. initially, when attempting to complete this step, i received an alert saying "gear not available". after completing this process several times over 10 minutes, i got my gears back and i was able to get the vehicle to the dealership where they performed troubleshooting. the codes reported by the dealership indicated "neutral engagement" and "multiple gear selection" but the dealer could not replicate the problem so no fix was attempted. they cleared the codes and returned the car to me. the vehicle is the 1.4l turbo engine with the dual dry clutch transmission. a review of this issue online indicates that in addition to multiple complaints to nhtsa there are a number of blog entries and forums on the topic. in fact, the problem occurred during a test drive by car reviewer for yahoo. this problem creates a significant danger to not only myself but other vehicles around me. had the transmission failed under acceleration into traffic it could have been quite dangerous. i feel like i got lucky in this situation that it happened while traveling in an area where it was safe to pull off without power. *tr
While driving, the car sounds an audible alert, the check engine light goes on, and displays "service transmission" on the car's dash/display. when this happens, the car drops into neutral and i do not have access to any gears. attempting to shift into neutral and back into drive displays a "gear not available" message on the car's dash/display. the car had to be towed to the dealer, or if i power the car down and start it back up, i can get the gears back, but the check engine light remains on and the car does not shift properly and the car is sluggish. this car is the 1.4l turbo with a dual dry clutch transmission. this problem has happened three times now within the last 1.5 months. the first time, the dealer did a "refresh" on the computer and stated that the computer had to "relearn" the transmission. the second time (12/09/2014) the dealer said the transmission control module needed to be replaced. the third time occurred today (12/16/2014) and it is at the dealer now waiting on someone to look at it. today when this happened, it was very difficult to get my car across three lanes of traffic and onto the shoulder of a major highway in new jersey. this almost caused an accident which would have resulted in serious injury as it would have involved a motor vehicle accident with an 18-wheeler semi-truck. *tr
On 12/16/2014 the vehicle flashed a "service transmission" indicator upon turning the car off the car would not start and the gear indicators all turned red showing no available gears. after a short time with the vehicle off the vehicle started again but the "check engine" light was on. it was taken to a local service center where they stated that it needed some reprogramming. on 01/22/2015 the same issue occurred and the vehicle was taken back in for service. upon looking at the car i was informed no indicators were showing and their were no diagnostic codes (somehow the car mysteriously lost them). 01/25/2015 the issue occurred again and is presently awaiting service. *tr
To add to a long list of issues with this vehicle we now have a very serious one that chrysler does not cover in the powertrain warranty. on thanksgiving when getting ready to leave a store my wife put the vehicle into what she thought was 1st only to begin going into reverse. thankfully there was nothing behind at the time. we discovered that you can put the vehicle into reverse at any speed or anytime without the use of the shift release. upon taking the vehicle to the dealer they stated that the shifter needs replaced as the cable broke free. they also discover that the reverse shift sensor had gone bad as well which may have been causing the traction control light to come on and the cruise control to stop working. this is but another issue that there where no warning lights, bells or whistles yet everything is ok because the computer says it is. this vehicle is a death trap, they will not fix even though it is a known issue since 2012 when they first release the vehicle. apparently someone needs to die for it to be a serious enough issue.. chrysler needs to be made to step up and take responsibility for their shoddy products. our heater core is leaking, turbo intermittent, engine surges (rpm's) etc. *tr
When trying to lift up the metal ring on the gear shift to put the car in reverse, i heard a snap, and could not engage reverse. luckily i was backing out of a parking space that was on a slight incline. the metal ring is now loose and the car will not go in reverse. *tr
The first time my vehicle didn't go into reverse was when i was leaving work. i attempted to back out of my parking spot and the shift mechanism to engage the reverse in my car would not come up like it has to for reverse to take hold. i tried twice and turned my car off. i waited about 5 minutes and tried again and the car engaged reverse like normal. for about two weeks the car shifted fine until on 11/23/2014 after starting my car and letting it warm up, i attempted to place my car in reverse and halfway through the shift into reverse on my manual car i heard a pop and my car jerked. i then let go of my shifter knob and it returned into the neutral position. then i tried to put it in to reverse once more and the shifter knob was limp and returned to neutral by its self. i turned my car off and since i am mechanically inclined i removed the leather cover from the shifter knob to see my reverse cable had snapped close to the base of the housing. *tr
On the interstate driving 80mph, went to accelerate and the car just revved up to 7500rpm, like it was in neutral. checked the gear shift and tried again with only getting the car to rev. pulled over to the side of the road and turned the car off for about 10 minutes, turned it back on it acted like the transmission wasn't catching. not once did it show any check engine light or any other warnings. had it towed to the dealership where it took them 2 days to replicate the problem and then it finally turned on the check engine light. it has been being repaired for over a week now because no one seems to know what exactly is wrong with it even though it had a check engine light for the transmission control module. *tr
I have been having the same issue and a burning smell happening. in october the dealer replaced the tcm at 33,000 miles and stated i was lucky to be under warranty since it would cost $600+ out of pocket. now on christmas morning i had the check engine light, service transmission message, and autostick not available message display. i was able to limp home to have r, n, d show gear not available. after waiting i turned the car on and the messages cleared. then 2 days later i was an hour late to work since the messages and shifting problem occurred on the highway. during traffic stoppages i could not get up to speed fast enough and almost caused an accident. the message and issue cleared again when i left work and i drove home but now it shifts at 5,000+ rpm when accelerating after a stop sign. burning smell is back and car is sluggish. seems like chrysler is waiting for enough people to die before addressing the issue. currently have 39,000 miles on car. before the issue in october there was also a "software update" for this after i had it about a week with 500-600 miles around mid august 2013. i purchased this car new to have reliable transportation for work. now it seems i have an unreliable car with loan payments and dealer service costs since chrysler doesn't cover transmission problems with the power train warranty apparently. *tr
Ongoing clutch/hydraulic problems have caused me to be in several unsafe situations. first safety concern was due to car stalling when attempting to accelerate from a stop. there were several times that improper clutch engagement caused the car to jerk and die at a stop. second concern was from difficulty shifting gears in stop and go traffic due to clutch not engaging fully. third concern was from total system failure (19426 miles): exited interstate highway and depressed clutch to shift to neutral. while depressing the clutch i heard a loud pop/clunk sound and the clutch instantly dropped to the floor. i then started smelling the clutch burning and had no ability to shift or engage gears. i was left in the middle of the roadway and had to push my vehicle to a safe location on the shoulder of the road thanks to the help of some people that stopped. after towing the vehicle to the dealership for repair, i was told the flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch needed to be replaced (19,426 miles). fourth concern was a failure of the clutch (approx 34,735 miles): after backing out of a driveway the clutch stuck to the floor and would not return to the normal position causing the inability to shift. after restarting vehicle i had to lift clutch by hand and pump clutch to regain hydraulic pressure. i was told clutch had failed and was blamed for failure from riding clutch mileage problems first reported (i continued to mention problems on later visits): 1555 - noise releasing clutch 2072 - resistance and engagement changing in the clutch mileage/repairs made: 5905 - master cylinder/actuator replaced 19426 - clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel replaced 34747 - clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and slave cylinder replaced (awaiting amended repair order) after latest repair the car is back in shop due to returned hydraulic pressure variance
My foot was on my clutch and brake i then stared the car....the car lunge forward into some bushes .. after that the clutch stayed on the floor unable to shift in reverse till i pumped brake and clutch i actually lifted the clutch up with my foot to use it to shift. *tr
While traveling at highway speed, vehicle suddenly went into neutral, "service transmission" appeared on lcd, then "gear not available". after turning car off and on, "gear not available" appears again if in drive or reverse. after another reboot, only occurs in drive. after an additional reboot, functions in all gears. dodge attempted to repair 3 times, with the car in the shop for approximately 30 days. final replacement part was "clutch actuator". *tr
Car sounds like struts and shocks are already going out. car lunges forward sometimes when stopped. it changes rom auto transmission to manual transmission on its own which causes the car to stall service people just look at you like your a idiot when you complain about issues and the loud popping noise is horrible.
My 2013 dodge dart (limited, 1.4l turbo, ddct automatic transmission) suffered from a tipm (totally integrated power module) failure causing the following problems: - randomly unable to shift out of park - audo system failure - handsfree system failure - odometer blinking (as opposed to a check engine light blinking - digital readout odo) i was informed there is a petition to investigate tipm failures in chrysler vehicles and wanted to make my incident aware. i also work with a [xxx], who also had his 2013 dodge dart replaced (collateral swap) due to the same component failing just last week. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
On 4 separate occasions, the automatic transmission has disengaged accompanied by check engine light and warnings on instrument panel (service transmission, blind spot indicator disabled, and automatic high beams off). on all occasions, the car was undrivable (as if in neutral) until the engine was turned off and restarted. at that point, the shift points were completely off and vehicle would often nearly stall out. on 2 occasions, the car would not start after multiple attempts, but would inexplicably start later and drive acceptably for a short period of time. dealer has performed flash updates and examined all connections. other reports on dodge dart forum explain multiple similar issues and various unsuccessful dealer attempts to identify and fix the problem. *tr
I was sitting at a red light while my 2013 dodge dart was in drive on august 14, 2014. the light turned green so the car in front of me went. i attempted to drive and the car acted as if it were in neutral. the rpm's of the car climbed to 6000 and the car went nowhere. i put my foot on the brake because the car was in drive and the rpm's were still high. the rpm's lowered and around 2500 rpm's the car lunged forward as if it caught gear. i drove the vehicle home and parked it. i drove it the next day to the dealership and the transmission was making a clicking noise when it shifted. the dealership kept the car for four days. they said they could not duplicate the issue. i picked my car up on august 18, 2014. i drove the car home. on august 19, 2014 i took the dodge dart back to the dealership because it sounded as if the clicking in and out when changing gears was happening. i left the car at the dealership once again because i do not feel safe driving a car with transmission issues. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving various speeds, the transmission failed to respond without warning. the vehicle was turned off. after awaiting ten minutes, the tcm had reset. the contact was able to resume normal operation. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the tcm was replaced. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 13,000.
There has been a recall on my vehicle for about 2 years. i have been contacting the dealer (and manufacturerer) since i was notified and they still "don't have the part" and i continue to be on the "call list". in fact i broke down (due to the transmission failure) in another state, paid for a rental the entire week it took to replace the transmission (before the recall) and get home to work. i ended up laying out over $800 for the rental while they repaired their error. the transmission failed and kept revving up the engine and the clutch did not engage or it slipped. racing the engine and not propelling the car when the gas was stepped on.the manufacturer refused to acknowledge the recall and pay for the rental. anyway i am driving an unsafe vehicle for over a year and a half getting no repair from local companies (the company called for another local dealer to have the part and never found one). *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into reverse. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 17,000. the vin was not available.
I have had my dart for almost 2 1/2 years and it has been a problem from the start. i have had my tcm replaced, transmission, 2 clutches, numerous codes and speakers, gas cap, and multiple recalls. it has been in the shop over a dozen times and for over 30 days. i have had problems the entire time i have owned the car and am currently in my second time of dealing with chrysler to buy back my vehicle and they still are not doing a thing about it. with the vehicle not shifting right and losing power and now my defroster is going out also the recalls on it but they have no fix for i refuse to let my newborn son be in my vehicle and chrysler definitely knows about it yet wont do anything about it even tho it is a lemon.
I had just gotten off the freeway on my way home, when my vehicle reached rpms of over 7500 and then died. i lost all power, electronics, motor...everything. my steering wheel locked up but i was able to get the vehicle off the road. i tried restarting, but the vehicle showed no signs of power. after about 20 minutes, i was able to get the vehicle running and drove it to the dealership immediately. the dealership has been very good to me. but after replacing the transmission control module twice, they are now replacing the transmission. i still am concerned that the vehicle is unsafe. the dealership is telling me that the tcm caused the other electronics on the vehicle to fail, but as i understand it, the tcm was not faulty, the transmission is. needless, i do not feel safe driving this vehicle and believe that dodge should step up and replace it. the vehicle is a year old and has been in the shop numerous times for the transmission issues. last week, the vehicle became a safety liability for dodge as it failed while it was being driven. *tr
I have a new dodge dart that for the past month have been fighting with arrigo dodge service dept regards to my concerns with issues. my calls went unanswered and was given the blow off. this past friday my ac quit working was when i took the car in they were forced to address my concerns... when i asked for a rental i was refused... *js
The clutch pedal stuck to the floor preventing me from being able to shift out of gear or disengage the engine from the transmission. because i am a mechanic i was able to avoid a crash. this is a complex issue and most consumers will freak out if they can not put there vehicle in neutral and the engine stalls from them trying to use the brakes. *tr
I was accelerating from a stopped position and was shifting into fourth gear when the clutch pedal stayed depressed to the floor. i have had this car back from the dealer 10 days. it was in the service department to correct the same problem. this is the third time this car has done this. the case numbers for the first two are 10542516 and 10607620. like the second episode, i was left in a vulnerable situation in which i was almost hit. the lanes taper from two down to one and i was in the inside lane coming out of the taper. a truck coming up from behind was unaware to the slow speed of my car and i was not able to accelerate. he was able to swerve across the no passing lines into another lane and avoid hitting the back of my car. i was able to coast to next cross road and just make it off the state highway. my vehicle was towed back to the dealership. *js

I have filed a complaint in sept. 2013 the incident number was 10542516. i my vehicle was towed to the nearest dealership for repair. the clutch pedal would not return once depressed. it was determined that it was the slave cylinder. that was replaced, taking over a week. the remedied the problem until the end of june 2014 when the car began displaying the same problem. i was getting on the interstate and went to shift from 2nd to 3rd and the clutch pedal remained depressed once again. not having power at this key point of acceleration was dangerous and i was almost rear ended by a semi. i took the car to a dealership once again and it was determined the slave cylinder was the problem once again. i think this really needs to be examined as it creates a serious potential for injury. *tr
Have had transmission issues since have the car 2/13. on 6/21 300 miles from home cars transmission just stopped working while driving. felt like car was in neutral. cost me 1000.00 to town/rent a car etc.they said transmission module failed. car just stopped very dangerous. chrysler said my responsibility to pick up car 220 miles away and drive home. i ask them to have someone drive to my local dealer they said no. drove 4 hours this morning picked up car drove about 10 miles same thing happened today. no service tech to look at. had to rent another car and drove home. drove 10 hours 500 miles today for no reason. someone's going to get killed and i don't want it to be me or my family. i googled this issue and there are others out there with the same problem. *tr
Vehicle threw an error message on the led dashboard about servicing the transmission. unable to place car in reverse or drive. after messing with it for a while (shutting vehicle off and turning back on, pausing for a few minutes) the vehicle would finally work again. this seemed to happen during the middle of the year and towards winter with the recall eventually taking place. (2014). i argued with the dealership to provide something for transportation since i had no other options. after arguing and finally getting a rental they offered to pay 3 days. it took them multiple days to look into the issue and they found low transmission fluid. there was a software update to take care of the recall as well. this year almost 6 months since the last incident the same issues are occurring. about two weeks ago i came across the same issues. it took a week to get an appointment with the local dealer and i had to borrow a vehicle since the car has trouble accelerating with these issues. they performed a software update and it seemed to work for a week. today the engine wouldn't start but the cars computers turned on. after testing different steps the car finally turned on but the acceleration is clunky and doesn't shift appropriately.
The service airbag light on the dashboard is continuously on. has been that way since i purchased the used car in may of 2014. received a recall notice and took to dealership, fixed and a few months later the light was back on. in may of 2018 took vehicle to another dealership to fix the passenger seat belt sensor that kept stating no passenger seat belt even if the person in the passenger seat had already buckled in, as well as the shift cable bushing because it became detached and could not shift anymore and also let them know about the service airbag light. dealership fixed all and a few months later the service airbag light came back on and has been that way ever since.
Issues with transmission, gears and power. after parking my car and attempting to restart the car would not turn on, multiple lights came on the dash board, and message read that my car did not recognize the gear. was not able to start car. it was towed to the dealership. on another occasion, i was driving about 30 mph and my car stop working, lost all power and it took about 5 minutes before i was able to use the gears. on multiple occasions the car wont recognize the gears used and it will act as though it is in neutral. i have also experienced a decline of power while driving as well as back firing in the engine when cylinders misfire. heated seats don't always work and the key fobs don't always work. *tr
I have been complaining since i bought this vehicle there is such a huge pause in the throttle when u anytime from start to go especially when going on the highway i have almost got killed a few times there are so many people complaining about it and they say it's normal yet aftermarket parts are available to buy to fix this issue could someone please contact me before i get killed. *tr
On the morning of may 17th, 2014, the check engine light appeared after restarting the vehicle while in line at the dealer service department. error messages appeared on driver information center ("park assist off, side blind zone alert off, automatic high-beams off"), gear selection was unavailable and vehicle would not start. the vehicle was started after five minutes of rest with the "vehicle is not in park" error message displayed. the service adviser found codes for transmission and body control modules with multiple communication errors. the transmission control module was replaced on may 18th. on the morning of may 27th, the vehicle was brought back for cosmetic warranty repairs. the vehicle exhibited the same transmission problems after the engine was restarted at the dealer service department. the transmission control module was replaced again on may 29, 2014. *tr
As we were crossing a large bridge in new york city, the engine light came on. within a minute after the light came on, the engine light started blinking, and the car began to run very roughly. smoke began to come from the vents, the car began to shake and overheat. after another minute, the car lost all power and became more difficult to control. we stopped at the closest area to pull off. chrysler roadside assistance had us wait for two hours before notifying us that our car was located 100ft shy of being able to be towed. we managed to fudge the car another 100ft, and reached a side street where we needed to wait another two hours to be towed. this was may 11th. the verdict from the local dealer is that the entire bottom end fell off after just over one year of typical use (less than 17000 miles), and the engine must be rebuilt (crankshaft, engine block, everything). we still have not received an estimated time of completion, and only estimates of when the engine will be in (over a month later) detachment or partial detachment of these components is extraordinarily dangerous, particularly at the speed that we were moving, and we were very fortunate not to be injured, or be in an accident. we were even lucky to get off of the bridge. *tr
Went to start my car and the clutch pedal went straight to the floor almost like it had no fluid in the master cylinder after i started the car i had to sit there and pump it to find feeling before i felt comfortable driving it. this was strange as i park inside a climate controlled garage and there is not any fluid leaking on the ground. *js
Turbo malfunctioned and car would decelerate on hills. clutch pedal kept getting stuck in position and would not disengage.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle failed to respond to deceleration attempts. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. the failure mileage was 3,500.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving approximately 20 mph, the transmission shifted into neutral independently. the gear lever was shifted back into the drive position and the brake pedal was depressed. the failure recurred three times. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v542000 (power train); however, the part needed to perform the repair was unavailable. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 1,700. vin tool confirms parts not available.
I went and attempted to start the car. car would not start. it was like the clutch would not engage. released the clutch and re-engaged, and it started. during shifts, it didnt want to go into 3 or 6th gears. it was like the clutch is not engaging once again. took the car back to where i purchased it, performance dodge, and they told me that chrysler knows of the issue but chrysler star will not fix it. i asked how can they know that the clutch has issues, but they are not going to fix it. the employee informed me that they all are like this. chrysler knows of the clutch issues due to all the complaints, but they still risk the lives of the individuals who purchased the vehicle by not replacing the clutch. i have also had issues with my windows not rolling up or down and the radio keeps resetting itself. they do updates, but it does not fix the radio issue. the last time i took it for the update, the update wouldnt even load to fix the issue. how can a company know of issues but refuse to fix them?
Brand new 2013 dodge dart, six speed manual transmission. began smelling and smoking when teaching my son how to start on a hill. smoke was coming from front right side of transmission. smelled like a burning clutch. this occurred after a short period of time on the hill (less than five minutes). took car back to dealership today (3-24-14), and was told there is a sticker on the transmission that burns (it was removed today, and has been removed on other darts they have worked on for the same problem), and the smell and smoke were also coming from the clutch. they test drove the car over some hills near the dealership and were able to reproduce the same smell, but said it is likely caused by the new clutch and should be driven 1500-2000 miles before being concerned about this issue. i have never experienced clutch burning like this, especially after such a short period of time on the hill, and i've driven many manual cars/trucks over many years. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving, the transmission malfunctioned and shifted gears. the failure occurred intermittently during the change of seasons. the failure occurred originally when the vehicle was first purchased. the vehicle was taken to huntington jeep chrysler dodge ram (1220 e jericho turnpike, huntington, ny 11743, (631) 993-3300) where the transmission was reprogrammed. when the vehicle was purchased, the contact suspected there was an issue because the dealer was attempting to repair a defective part. the vehicle was also brought back at the time of purchase for overconsumption of oil. the contact had to pay for an oil consumption test, which was still an ongoing issue with the vehicle. the vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic who referred the contact back to the manufacturer. the manufacturer stated that there were no recalls and advised the contact to call nhtsa. the failure mileage was 10,000.
