2013 dodge dart. consumer writes in regards to transmission shift cable bushing safety recall. *ld *js

My shifting cable disconnected from transmission again when i shifted from park.

I was driving to get my son pulled into parking spot put car in park well i thought it was i start to get out and car keeps going even after key was turned off. my car is was stuck in drive position the shifter cable came completely off! it happened three-four more times after i got the piece back on. which one time was very dangerous and couldn't have been bad. especially since i was driving with a child one out of four of the times

The 2013 dodge dart has a recall since april 2019. the shifter cable bushing on the transmission end of the shifter cable which can deteriorate and become detached from the transmission. this condition can result in the inability of the driver to actually shift the transmission, even though the driver may move the shifter handle. check engine light goes on every few months. vehicle is trying to go into park but the shift gets stuck. i have been calling the chrysler dodge dealer since april 2019 but they do not have the parts to do the recall.

I continue to have a service airbag error on my dashboard. i have reported to it to the dodge dealership and they are unable to assist unless a fee for diagnostics and a fee to fix the issue when it's clearly a safety matter. today i had a repair at the dealership due to a recall (v34) transmission shift cable. i am still experiencing issues with the shifting of my gears. i researched recalls on 2013 dodge darts and saw recalls reported regarding the powertrain as well as airbags. i would greatly appreciate a response asap. thank you and enjoy your day.

The cars bushing for the shifter cable broke. i was out and everything we fine but when i got back in the car take drive off i was unable to move from park.

I went to get a recall fixed for my vehicle and i was told that the bushing you're fix the recall is on back order for over a month. i then explained that the part has already failed and that this car is the only car that i have to get to and from work, to drop my wife off at work, and to make sure my daughter gets where she needs to go. i told them that i have no other means of transportation and my car currently won't run because of the safety recall that i was trying to get fixed. perkins motors in colorado springs told me that there was nothing they could do and told me to take my car with me which i had towed there. my complaint is that they failed to help me get my problem resolved in a timely manner and they offered no other advice to try to get my car up and running again.

I was driving my brother to work tonight 10/22/19 at 11:50pm. i pushed the clutch pedal in to down shift because we saw a deer in front of us and it came back out. then as soon as it came out it slowly got sucked to the floor. it is still stuck to the floor. i can pull it back but as soon i push o. it it just gets sucked back to the floor. i tried uploading a picture but it wouldn't allow me to.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving approximately 65 mph, the rpms continued to randomly increase and decrease as the manual clutch became stuck to the floorboard while attempting to switch gears. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the manufacturer and local dealer (shiverly motors of chambersburg, 801 lincoln way west, chambersburg, pa) were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. the failure mileage was 60,000.

After 5 months of my car being in the shop at cummins dodge in weatherford ok they brought it to me today stating it was ready and fixed. they were suppose to fix the recall it had. i noticed the shifter knob did not indicate what gear it was in so i called steve at cummins and asked him why it was not showing what gear it was in. steve stated he would have to get back with the technician and get back with me and did not call back. i had doug gray technician come take a look and he stated they did not fix the recall and also stated that it was a very serious safety hazard right now because since they did not fix it the shifter knob can be engaged into gear without keys being in the vehicle. he said for example if your daughter was to go to the car to get something and accidentally hit the shifter knob iit would go into gear and roll away. he stated that he can put it in gear without turning car on which is very dangerous. they brought me my car today because i refused to drive it home and had no intentions of driving it until i get answers.

I have a recall for my transmission bushing and i have called multiple dealerships to try to get it fixed but they all say they dont have the parts available! i have to manually put the transmission cable on the arm to be able to switch gears, this is a huge safety concern that is not in any hurry to be fixed. i strongly demand this issue getting resolved in a more timley mannor as my inspection needs to be passed and it is unable to because of this problem. seatbelts light keeps coming on when seatbelts are worn and off when the arnt

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. when shifting gears to drive, the vehicle hesitated. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact received a notice for manufacturer campaign number: v50 (reprogram pcm). the vehicle was taken to elmwood chrysler dodge jeep ram (located at 625 taunton ave, east providence, ri 02914, (401) 438-0400), but the power train control module was unable to be reprogrammed due to the data link connector failure. the manufacturer was informed of the failure. the failure mileage was 65,000.

Feels funny when you shift gears

The transmission has gone out after the gasket was replaced at the dodge dealer as a recall. it will not change gears and tries to start out in 4th gear. when you do get it to pull itself the rpm's are 3.5. the dealer ships say's that they could not have caused the issue but it ran fine before the transmission had the recall replacement of the transmission cable. the cruise control works only if you set it as soon s you start the car, if you don't it will not engage or come on. there is a check engine light that comes on and even when it is on the dealership cannot find any trouble codes. this is gt and i love the car but it does not run 80% of the time.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact stated that the gear shifter failed to shift out of reverse. an independent mechanic came to the contact's residence and manually slid the shifter cable onto the transmission, which enabled the contact to drive the vehicle. the independent mechanic mentioned that the bushing that was connected to the shifter cable was corroded and detached from the transmission. the independent mechanic contacted weeks in benton (1627 n main st, benton, il 62812) to purchase the part needed for the repair and was informed that the failure was associated with nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). the mechanic was informed to bring the vehicle to the dealer. the contact was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact stated that the dealer refused to order the part or service the vehicle. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. the approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

Took my vehicle in to have the shifter cable replace due to a current recall. my car would not come out of park because of this, the dealership said that it was fixed but a day later it happened again. i took it back and they had it a day and a half, they finally called to tell me that now my transmission shifter solenoid was bad and that it would be $800 to fix. i took the car immediately to another mechanic because the dealership said that it wasn't part of the recall and i didn't want to pay that amount if i didn't have to. the other mechanic told me to take it back to the dealership after he looked at it because more than likely they caused the damage when they were replacing the bushing. i called and spoke to the manager and he told me that the tech said they didn't damage it and that the recall was all they were told to fix and that they weren't told to fix the issue with the car not coming out of park. i have the paper work that states why the car was there and it states that, that was the reason i brought it in. i've never had so much trouble with a car before. dodge should have never sold these vehicles. in 2015 they had to replace my entire transmission due to a recall and my vehicle randomly stopping while driving. this vehicle is extremely unsafe. the cruise control has worked intermittently since i bought it new in 2013 and i took back and they said it was fine. my check engine light comes on every other time i get gas telling me that there's a problem with the cap which there isn't, i had it checked.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while the vehicle was at a stop, an unknown warning indicator illuminated and flashed. the contact stated that the vehicle jolted forward and stalled. the contact pulled the vehicle over and noticed transmission fluid leaking. the vehicle was towed to koons tysons chrysler dodge jeep ram (2050 chain bridge rd, vienna, va 22182, 703-790-0900) where it was diagnosed that the nsa disk and the dual clutch were defective and needed to be repaired. the manufacturer was notified and did not assist. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 103,000.

The hydraulic shift actuator will fail - oftentimes/seemingly in the heat & sun after prolonged exposure. this causes the vehicle to a. if it is not driving, you will get the "service transmission error" and the vehicle will not turn on; b. if you are driving, shifting becomes dangerous and erratic. note: this isn't covered under your warranty because it has likely expired. if you have a third party warranty, you will need to "prove the failure". with that being said, this appears to happen towards the afternoon/evening in my case (when it's the hottest and has sat in the sun all day). it has shifted erratically on me multiple over the last few weeks - i am highly suspect that this part may become a future recall part. my vehicle is under 47,000 miles, so this should not be an issue. considering other transmission problems, i would be aware. it has almost caused multiple accidents for me (i have a clean mvr). the erratic shifting will happen at all speeds.

I was driving in stop and go rush hour traffic on the freeway. my clutch seemed soft when i downshifted as traffic was slowing from 65 mph. the next time i shifted the clutch went to the floor and the transmission was disengaged. i couldn't shift. i was able to coast to the shoulder and wait for a tow.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while attempting to park and drive in reverse, the gear shift failed to shift into drive. the contact engaged the emergency brake and had the vehicle towed home. the contact stated that the vehicle was powered off, but the reverse lights were still illuminated, including all the warning indicators on the instrument panel. in addition, the transmission cable was disconnected. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train), but the part needed for the repair was not available. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the following day, the vehicle was taken to auto grupo chrysler (1102 calle juan pea reyes, san juan, pr 00924) where it was determined that the part was not available. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

While driving and shifting through an intersection i was no longer able to shift into gear. i was stuck in gear. 2 weeks prior my parking break would not engage, as the break caliper was stuck open

This is for recall v34. which was issued early in the year. my wife was driving down the highway, 1 near robinson illinois to be exact and the car just stopped driving forcing her to steer onto the side of a very busy highway! this could have been very bad!!!! i find it insane that chrysler is dragging their feet on this part! my wife could have been killed!!!!! not too mention if my daughter and i were in the car when this happened. chrysler knows this part and these cars are unsafe but are not willing to do anything about it! on top of everything you want me to dish out the money to put another recalled part on my car, no thanks!! do something about this.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while traveling 70 mph, the vehicle jerked and lost acceleration. in addition, the message "gear shift not available, shift to neutral, engage in reverse" appeared on the message center. afterwards, the vehicle operated normally. the contact stated that the failure started approximately two weeks ago and was getting worse. the contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). garavel jeep/chrysler/dodge (300 westport ave, norwalk, ct 06851) confirmed that parts were not available to perform the recall repairs. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 105,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

I was pulling out of my driveway and went to shift from reverse to drive. my shift would move, but my car was stuck in neutral. i had to push my car out of the road and since it was not in park, could not completely turn it off and remove my key. i set the emergency brake and had to disconnect battery since accessories would not turn off. car was towed to dealership on 08/09/2019. per recall, the recall covers dodge dart compact cars from 2013 through 2016 with six-speed automatic transmissions. the company says a bushing can fail, causing the shifter cable to come loose from the transmission. that means when a driver shifts to park or another gear, the gear may not change and the car could roll away. parts for recall will not be available until september. dealership cannot fix at this time and manufacturer offered no assistance.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving, the traction control warning indicator illuminated and the rearview camera was working intermittently. the vehicle was taken to smith haven chrysler jeep dodge ram (794 jericho turnpike, st james, ny 11780, (631) 863-2000). the contact informed the dealer that she received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). the contact asked if the recall repair could be performed since she was already present; however, she was informed that the part was unavailable for the recall repair. three hours after leaving the dealer, the contact attempted a u-turn, but had to back the vehicle up to complete the turn. when the vehicle was placed back in drive, it would not go forward. the contact waited until the traffic slowed down and then drove in reverse to get the vehicle onto the side of the road. the vehicle failed to turn off. the contact stated that the gear shifter could shift to other gears; however, the vehicle still drove in reverse. after three hours, the driver was able to power off the engine. the vehicle was towed back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the recall. the dealer stated that there was a temporary remedy, but it was on backorder. the manufacturer was notified multiple times of the failure and provided case number: 59500279. the approximate failure mileage was 67,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

My vehicle has had an active recall that i have been contacting the dealership about for months to get repaired and i was continually told that i would be contacted and i never was. today, on august 1, 2019 as i was backing out of a parking spot in a parking lot, my transmission shifter cable failed and caused my car to get stuck in reverse and i was not able to shift to place my car in drive. i had to remove the battery cables under the hood and the gear cover from inside the car and manually switch my car to neutral and have my car pushed home. i then called mopar to ask what the remedy was for fixing the recall issue and i was informed that i would need to pay out of pocket to have my car repaired and that i would later get reimbursed. this is not possible for me now due to my finances and i was under the impression that an active recall was to be fixed free of charge. i'm not understanding why i will need to pay out of pocket for this issue.

Dodge dart shifter cable safety recall has not yet been fixed nor is there a remedy for it yet. it has been quite a few months and i haven't been able to drive my car. there hasn't been an incident but i have been months without a car that i need to be able to drive and am paying for.

I have a recall warning that the dodge dart shifting cable may break and this did happen on my vehicle. the dodge dart is at the dodge dealer and they tell me i have to pay to replace the shifting cable because there is no permanent fix yet. i should not have to pay anything for dodge to fix the problem regardless if there is no permanent fix to the problem yet.

I was in a parking spot in neutral and went to shift into reverse and the cord on the reverse popped.

In the mornings when i first start the car my clutch pedal sticks down and i hqve to pull it up using my foot/hand. i have done some research and this is a well known issue for manual transmission darts. hundreds of people have called chrysler abiut the issue and they refuse to do anything about it. for the people who have paid out of pocket say that it is a slave/ master cylinder issue and if nothing is done during early stages like starting your car in the morning. it does start to happen while driving down the road and does cause further damage. i feel that this is a huge saftey concern that they should fix.

This recall in not avilable in mexico and my car has failed, has failed, exactly as the recall says manufacturer recall numberv34 nhtsa recall number19v-293 i dial mopar mexico but they dont even now about this recall

I bought a dodge dart 2013 limited edition (or was talked into it by your salespeople) i wanted this to be my last car and i actually really liked it. then i started having transmission problems with the car shifting into neutral randomly. i took it to a dodge dealer but the problem persisted. this happened three times and they said they did everything they could. a lemon law firm contacted me and said they could replace the car if i had 3 occurrences with receipts which i submitted to them. they said chrysler was giving me $3900. i was confused because i thought they were giving me enough to replace the car. they explained chrysler didn't want to do that. i actually forgot about it (that was 2016) and thought the issue had been fixed so i was happy. now this past july 4th 2019 my transmission problems have returned. my car has 48,000 only and not even the dodge extended warranty (which i wanted to now purchase) do not cover 2013 models. that speaks volumes to me. they know they sold me a lemon and one that is not safe. i can't afford a new car and have now learned that lemons are bought and sold back to the public. i will never buy or speak well about chrysler again. you are a fraudulent company. i wanted a honda originally but was talked out of it by neighbors who work for chrysler. i will be calling deena centofanti from channel 2 fox to tell her i was sold an unsafe car and i am stuck with it. they already know that chrysler knew the system design was faulty in 2012 but released the 2013 anyway. shameful.

Car will shift into neutral and then turn itself off when coasting or switching gears with my automatic transmission vehicle.

The battery light and engine light started flickering on and off, and the vehicle started idling and decreasing in speed for no reason. when trying to accelerate it did not want to do so, and again the lights and power started flickering turning on and off intermittently. upon pulling to the side of the road i turned the engine off, at which trying to restart, the engine did not turn over only clicking noises. instead still what seemed like a surging of power with all random lights flickering and stereo turning on and off. this issue had not only happened once but now twice, and i am currently left car less as the issue cannot be fixed or found. a tune up was done on my car, wires replaced, the battery replaced twice, and a module replaced due to the fan for air conditioning intermittently turning off and on on it's own for no rhyme or reason. i have receipts for all stated above replacements. however, i have kept them in my car recently due to have to replace multiple parts within only a couple months of the part being replaced. no one seems to be able to figure out what is taking place, and i am certainly tired of paying for parts to replace the problem when they have not helped in any way shape or form. it seems to me it is more of a manufacturing issue than a maintenance issue. more over the first time this issue occurred i was on the highway and could've been severely injured due to cars driving at high speeds and not paying attention. this issue is really dangerous and could be life threatening if not handled appropriately. i would highly suggest someone looking into these faults before it costs a life.

Transmission has stopped working correctly, took it to be looked at and was told there was a hole in the transmission despite never having been damaged or hitting anything with the cat. also told transmission mount needed replacing. car makes awful noise when driving in low gears abs had trouble shifting, when in traffic sms having top go down speed and then up speed tee car stutters and clunks.

My car's transmission shift cable bushing broke. i had it towed in by a friend. dodge did have the parts in stock and won't get them until june10, 2019, so in order to get to work i had to get a rental. chrysler doesn't want to refund my money for rental car only refund repair work for the car to be fixed.

My car will hesitate to speed up, and feels like the transmission jumps randomly while driving. last year, it got stuck in neutral when i parked - wouldn't go into drive although i could move the gear shifter. ongoing electrical issues with backup camera and uconnect.
