Car accelerates to 7000 rpms while attempting to pull out of a stop car doesn't move. it has happened 4 times at different intersections almost got hit from behind. dealer cant duplicate error my fear is an accident.
Automatic trans shift linkage bushing has failed. leaving car unservicable. dealer states to order bushing they don't have any. 2013 50k
Car wouldn't start then when it did the gear indicator lights turned red and shifts really hard then you can shut car off and wiggle the shifter and it will start back up and run fine for a while then when sitting at a light it might go back to the red lights and start shifting hard again was told its the tcm (transmission control module) you really never know when its going to do this has done it in the middle of turns when it starts or just sitting in place
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving 20 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate as if it were in neutral. while in traffic, the service transmission warning indicator illuminated. the contact powered off the engine and waited fifteen minutes. once the vehicle was restarted, it operated normally. the vehicle was taken to sheets chrysler jeep dodge ram (located at 250 auto plaza drive, beckley, wv 25801, (304) 252-4555) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. the contact stated that the vehicle was recently repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 15v542000 (power train), but it did not correct the failure. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 53,000.
The clutch cable became disconnected just as i was pulling into a gas station
Shifting stick is stuck, the car appears to be stuck in reverse but actually is stuck in neutral, the key is stuck in the ignition and car won't turn on. day prior to this car was park all day, later in the evening it was driven for about 3-5 miles and parked without an issue. nothing was out of the ordinary until the next day when i tried to drive it again.
I am experiencing issues with my transmission. while driving on the highway i will get a notification to "service transmission." after that notification comes up my car becomes slow to respond to shifting gears. i will also not be able to use "reverse" as it will state that the gear is unavailable. driving in 1st and 2nd gear are difficult as the car takes forever to hit a certain rpm. car will sometimes not turn on after this happens and will remain undriveable.
After backing out of a parking spot at my apartment, i put car in drive but it went into neutral and locked in, leaving the car inoperable. cannot get out of neutral and cannot cut car off fully and remove key.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving at unknown speeds in reverse, the gear shifter failed to move and the key failed to release from the ignition. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and the battery was disconnected. the local dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 80,000.
The powertrain control module was reprogrammed and the transmission control module was reprogrammed under warranty on august 29, 2013. march 13, 2015 the check engine light was coming on and the dealership had noted that several modules have stored code for lost communications with tcm module u0101-00. pcm needed flash update which was done. tcm was replaced and reprogrammed. on saturday, august 25, 2018. we then had problems with the car shifting into gear when leaving parked position. could not reverse or go forward. we could physically put it into gear but the car itself would not shift properly. it then went into limp mode. on sunday, august 26 it happened again while parked. we drove it to crowfoot dodge on monday, august 27. as we were bringing it in the car went to limp mode as driving. so we left it where it stopped. we called the dodge mechanic and he told us that he thought the problem was the transmission control module. they needed to order the part but it should be fixed on wednesday. the part was not there on wednesday nor thursday. we then called on friday and was told that they replaced the transmission control module and the car still had some internal transmission problem. on the statement they wrote that the actuator for 1 clutch and 3 was faulty and because it was integrated into the transmission the whole transmission needs to replaced for $11,000. this car's warranty expired on june 29, 2018 and 140,000 km's current read. as the transmission control module has been a problem previously while we were still in warranty.
While stopped behind another car, my rpms went into the red while my foot was still on the brake. it was as if my car were in neutral and i had hit the gas. i didnt go anywhere but my rpms jumped to 7. i know there used to be a recall on my car for the control module and i've had my car serviced for the recall. the dealer i took my car to states my car did have this issue. after having the recall corrected the same thing should not be happening.
While driving on an interstate highway the engine rpm increased and the car began to slow down. moved to the side of the road to be out of traffic. the car would not move with the selector shift in the drive position but would move when manual selected in 1st gear. recall r42 has been preformed that addressed the shiftier module. information from the chrysler dealership service shop stated that the shiftier module would have to be replaced. it appears that this module is a design problem that presents a safety issue while driving as in my case being on an interstate highway at high speed when the car began slowing.
When you put on reverse gear the gear gives jerk and will not hold,,,car has to be restarted and put in reverse gear again...all the lights indication on gear turns red...dodge don't resolve this issue...they just say it is sensor...but it is transmission issue...
I took my dodge dart into a dealership after it said service transmission they said nothing was wrong with it so i drove it some more and now it said service transmission,no reverse, and engine temp to hot so i called crystler and they said that there is nothing they can do about it since it's out of warranty i have only had this car since january 24th of this year i shouldnt be having this problem with it and the hun i look the vin up it says it's a dodge dart sxt when it's a rallye so something don't make since i don't feel like i should be screwed over and have to pay 8,000$ for a broken car
My car is ticking on the passenger side. in researching everyone with the same year and model is having the same issue having to replace the cv joint on the passenger side. super frustrating there has not been a recall on this as it is a known issue. when trying to purchase the passenger cv joint everyone is selling used cv joints for drivers side and there is not options for passenger side.
My 2013 dodge dart inattentionally shifted to neutral and would not change out of neutral while driving. car had to be towed to dodge dealer for repair.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving 75 mph, the engine started revving, but the vehicle could not accelerate. the vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder and shut off. the contact had to wait an hour before the vehicle would restart. the vehicle was driven back home and later to an independent mechanic where it was initially diagnosed that the transmission failed. the vehicle was then taken to the dealer (crown chrysler jeep dodge ram dublin, 6350 perimeter loop rd, dublin, oh 43017, (888) 739-0282) where it was diagnosed that the electronic control module (ecm) failed. the part was ordered and the repairs were made, but the failure occurred while driving on the highway again. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ecm burned out the hydraulic actuator and the clutch, which caused slipping. the contact was informed that the actuator and the clutch needed to be replaced. the contact was waiting to hear back from the dealer and the manufacturer. the first repairs were covered under the federal emissions warranty. the contact was waiting to find out if the latest repairs would be covered. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 63,861.
Possible tcm/pcm recall. drove 2013 dodge dart 27 miles without issue. after being parked for 3 hours, i went to leave and car would not start with error messages reading " autostick unavailable service required," followed by "service transmission"
Clutch sticks down and has to be pulled back up manually. at times it is difficult to switch gears as it doesn't seem to fully disengage. happens regardless of driving situations or temperature. have seen multiple complaints on dodge forums describing the same issue.
I recently purchased the veh last year 3/2017, just started having clutch stuck to the floor issues recently. just last week as a matter or fact, 6 days ago today (7/25/2018). issues began 7/19 as i recall and have a text where i notified my spouse of the issue. the veh gets stuck w clutch to the ground unable to change gears therefor unable to take off, veh is currently parked at starbucks. called dealership, it has 70100 miles, they said it's out of warranty. not sure what to do but i have been doing some reading and i am not alone. many and many other dodge dart owners are going and have gone thru same thing. my problem is i am not original owner and seems my warranty expired a few months ago before the issue began. i need direction or advise how to proceed. dodge was well aware and replaced many master cylinders and are aware of the issue. i am just barely out of warranty and it's the same issue, not sure why it is not covered!!! Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving at any speed, the transmission shifted into neutral. when this occurred, the vehicle would sometimes decelerate. the contact attempted to restart the vehicle after a while and "service transmission" appeared on the instrument panel. the contact called marino park dodge chrysler (5133 w irving park rd, chicago, il 60641, (773) 777-2000) and was informed that there was no remedy available for the failure. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that new spark plugs needed to be installed. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that they did not have a remedy. the contact was placed on an email list. the failure mileage was 83,000.
I pulled my 2013 dodge dart in to a parking spot and went to put it in park but it would not shift, i could not get the key out either, when i went to see what was wrong the transmission link cable was disconnected upon further investigation the pin the connects it fell out the car. i was able to shif the car into drive and take it to the dealership. i see this yet another common issue with this car. and a serious safety issue. why hasn't dodge been force to recall this and fox the problems.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving 50 mph, the vehicle inadvertently switched into neutral and the transmission and engine warning indicators illuminated. also, when shifting the gear into first or second, it switched back to neutral. the contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned the vehicle off. after the vehicle was restarted, it failed to operate correctly. the vehicle was towed to the mall of georgia chrysler dodge jeep (4345 buford dr, buford, ga 30518, (888) 342-2969) where the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures. the failure mileage was 106,312.
Takata recall my car has been saying service transmission at least 2 or 3 times a week and it will happen as i'm driving so it'll say service transmission and then i'll feel like a pull and as i start pressing on the break the engine will rev and then when i park it and turn it off and try turning it back on it won't turn back on for at least a day so it leaves me stranded 2-3 times a week or i've been on the highway and it'll do that and i try to keep going and press on the gas and it won't work it just revs so i'll be going less then speed limit while everyone else goes speed limit and has almost caused me to get in an accident at least twice. it's super dangerous for me to drive this car around and i've taken it to the dodge dealership and all they have told me was it's a safety feature my car has and they don't know why it's doing that.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and the transmission warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and it was diagnosed that the transmission module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 63,280.
Rolling up to a stop sign and my clutch petal dropped to the floor and stayed there. could not put it into gear.
Clutch is sticking in the 1.4l turbo dart while stationary. car wouldn't start right away but did eventually. hard to get into gear while stationary. emergency brake has failed and is not working. airbag light is on, on the dash.
I was driving my 2013 dodge dart on the highway when all of a sudden it would not go over 45 mph. this has happened before 3 weeks prior, but after turning the car off and back on it went away. i made it to my house pulled into my driveway and went to put it into park, but the gear shift would not go into gear. the key is now stuck in the ignition. i tried disconnecting the battery, but that did nothing. also the service engine light has constantly been coming on periodically since i've bought the car in 2013. yet the dealership and 2 other mechanics have never given me a reason why. i called the dealership and they wanted $150 to hook it up to a diagnostic. i do not have it so i'm still trying to figure out what to do.
I parked the car on the side of the street. an hour later, after starting the car and placing the gear in drive, i could not switch gears to reverse or park, and could not shut the car off and remove the key. the gear shift was stuck in drive, and would not disengage even when the battery was disconnected. the car had to be towed. mobile technician found that the gear shift cable was broken.
The 2013 dodge dart with the 1.4l turbo engine was a vehicle made that was made in murphy's law (everything that could go wrong, will go wrong). since purchasing this used vehicle in 2016 with 43,000 miles on the engine i have had multiple occurrences of mechanical problems. the first issue i have had was the turbo. i had to have the turbo replaced under warranty (common issue). then, multiple instrument gauge failures. next, several clutch problems (clutch sticking to the floor even when driving). this issue was not fixed as the dealer does not believe this to be an issue. if researched it will show that this is a common problem thousands have with this vehicle. then, next set of issues began with multiple caliper seizings. the car was taken to a mechanic other than the dealership. they determined that these parts were faulty and suffered from a recall that effected several cars. when calling customer care for dodge. they refused to do anything because my vin was not involved with that specific group of cars. i paid for the repair out of pocket and then suffered through two additional caliper failures. all repairs out of my own pocket. this is also another common issue. now, i am currently going through a valve cover gasket failure on a vehicle that has been maintained at 75,000 miles (common issue). now that i am out of warranty on a 5 year/100,000 mile warranty. dodge claims to have started the warranty in 2012 on a 2013 year vehicle. this vehicle should be listed as one of the most dangerous, expensive, and poorly made vehicles to exist. all of these issues have occurred while driving on a highway almost causing me to crash several times. through dodge-dart.org you will see several dangerous and negligible choices made by fiat chrysler and how dangerous this car can be to the public. i believe dodge should offer an extended warranty up to 10 year/200,000 miles.
Drove the vehicle to a store and was unable to place it in park and remove the key from the ignition or turn off the car, subsequently discovered the shift linkage grommet, that maintains connection had failed, ended up having to replace the entire linkage and replace grommet
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. when the vehicle was started and engaged in drive, the vehicle shifted back to neutral on its own. the contact attempted to shift back to drive unsuccessfully. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the dealer and independent mechanic were not contacted for diagnostic testing or repairs. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 101,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). the parts to do the repair were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. weaver dodge (2174 w market st, pottsville, pa 17901, (866) 639-1309) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. after reversing and attempting to shift the gear shifter to drive, it failed to shift and the gear shifter was stuck in neutral. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact had to manually turn the gears to make the vehicle operable. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer (don davis dodge chrysler jeep, 1901 n collins st, arlington, tx 76011, (888) 746-5421) where it was diagnosed that there was a gear shift malfunction and the gear shift needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 66,000.
'takata recall' have had my car almost 2 months now and never had a problem. drove smooth. this morning on the way to work still no problems what so ever. not even the slightest to make me think there was one. then when i left to get lunch and stuck in reverse it jumped. i brushed it off thinking it wasn't major since it was one time deal. then as driving i could feel the transmission starting to slip. so i had to turn back and park it as is.
Before starting vehicle, clutch pedal goes straight to floor and has to be pulled back up into position. problem occurs multiple times a week. after clutch is pumped a few times, it regains pressure and is able to be driven. vehicle has less than 35,000 miles but is over the 5 year warranty. extended warranty will cover it with a $100 deductible. dealership advised that i will probably have to pay for a clutch replacement even though there is an extended warranty/ known issue on the master cylinder and hydraulic fluid leaking throughout clutch components. also had the turbo and exhaust manifold gasket replaced at 20,000 miles after check engine light kept coming on and vehicle lost power. at one point the check engine light came on and the vehicle lost almost all power while trying to merge onto i-95 in washington dc, almost causing me to be rear ended by another vehicle. it took 4 trips to the dealership for the problem to be recreated and eventually fixed under warranty. the emergency brake stopped working at about 15,000 miles but i was told that my vehicle was not one affected by the caliper recall. paid for caliper replacement out of pocket. lots of problems with this car, but dealership keeps telling me they "cannot replicate the issue".
Over three times while driving my autostick not available and service transmission light has come on. car sputters and comes to a stop. once it happened on a 23 mile bridge where i was almost in an accident because of it. dealership has had car over 5 times and the second transmission failed same day i got my car back. i still do not have my car back *tt *tr
Ive had the transmission replace 4 times still doing the same issue. it will give me a signal that the gears are not available at this time and then it would be like the rpm die down to a lower gear. it would then rev high in 1st gear not wanting to go into second but would catch as the rpm goes down. 2 gear would start under the 1000 rpm and struggle to get to the third gear.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while attempting to shift from drive to park, the transmission switched to neutral. the contact was able to the move the shifter, but the transmission remained in neutral. the vehicle was towed to century dodge (13500 veterans memorial pkwy, wentzville, mo), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 120,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while the vehicle was idling at a drive thru, the contact noticed that the lights on the gear lever failed and she heard metal rubbing together from the transmission. the service transmission warning indicator illuminated before and during the failure. the dealer was not contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 111,000.
For years my cars traction light will randomly come on and sometimes my gear would stick, every time the dealership would say they could not find anything and the light would turn off. now my car keeps slipping into neutral well i'm on the freeway going abouy 75/80 mpg. now it's doing it constantly. this has been going on since i bought the vehicle brand new in 2014.
While driving 25 mph on the expressway, the service transmission message appeared and the he car started to decrease speed ad would not accelerate. when pulled over, the car would not move when gears were changed.
61,500miles, sputtering between 2nd and 4th gear around 2200-2700 rpms when shifting up trying to speed up. dealership advised out of warranty for this. changed all sparks and coils, no luck. now getting this oil burning smell to go along w it...no help given. pls help somebody!! i am 2nd owner, hence why out of warranty, just bought less than a year ago! reach out to me w advise!! Start car and the engine light came on and a message says no gear available shift to neutral then reverse or drive. car won't go into drive or reverse.
When trying to accelerate it is very hesitant to go, then it will over rev and the rpms will go up but it will not go any faster. it will only happen it second and third gear
2013 dodge dart with 2 liter motor auto transmission. the car won't start. on the shifter all letters on gear indicator shows red (p,r,n,d) engine light on. car will. it start in any gear. this is the third shifter assembly i had to purchase to fix the problem . vehical was stationary when it wouldn't start , when it was running the gear indicator light went red car shifted hard. also wouldn't indicat what gear it was in on the dash. now car won't start at all.
This is a breif summary. there's more details concerning this car that room here doesn't provide. the dual dry clutch shifting failures and hill start assist are addressed here: the car does not immediately move forward when you apply the throttle it can take from 2-4 seconds to go forward when you step on the gas. not 'turbo lag'. that adds to the time to go forward. pulling out into traffic or changing lanes can get you killed because it delays throttle response until the computer decides to go. sometimes turbo, sometimes not at the same throttle position. when coming off the brakes then pressing the throttle, delay and sometimes inappropriate gear selection causes erratic driving behavior. in turns the car comes out of gear on its own with no indication. step on the gas and the engine revs high in neutral. now it's coasting through the turn before it will engage in [a] gear. you can seldom 'drive through a turn'. this happens around a normal street corners, and in sweeping turns when you're traveling at 40 mph out of gear. engaging gears at this point is unpredictable as to which gear the car will select. the 'hill start assist' (hsa) braking program; when stopped pointing uphill, this 'feature' is intended to hold the brakes on for 3 seconds preventing the car from rolling backwards when you move your foot from the brake peddle to the gas peddle. if the hsa fails you have no control over when, or if, the clutch engages into gear. the hsa program in this car randomly fails to hold on a hill. when this happens the ddc also fails to engage in gear. the car totally fails to move forward and rolls backwards revving in neutral toward the cars coming up behind you. you have pressed the gas to go forward and now you're going backward revving in neutral. i now refuse to drive this car. it will sit unused until resolution of this issue. this car needs to be crushed. *js
