Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). while the vehicle was stopped and attempting to make a left turn, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who referred the contact to don davis dodge chrysler jeep (1901 n collins st, arlington, tx 76011, (877) 870-0998). the dealer diagnosed that the driveshaft and shifter cable needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 58667462. no further assistance was provided. the failure mileage was 130,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Car was driven about 15 miles for an outing and once we arrived, car would not go into or out of park. after about 15 minutes attempting to secure vehicle, roadside assistance was called and car was towed to dealership. dealership indicated that the shift cable had an issue and a replacement would be ordered under or extended warranty. after researching the issue, it was determined that the car was under recall for this exact issue (v34) and when we contacted the dealership about the recall, they still insisted that we had to pay for the repair under our warranty and then file a claim for reimbursement. we were told the part being used for repair was not an upgrade in response to the recall, but just a standard cable replacement. we were informed that we either pay for the part or park the car until the recall was resolved. when asked about a loaner or rental, the response was no loaner would be made available and a rental was allowed for a period of 5 days only with the extended warranty. we were also informed that the recall could take weeks or months to resolve. so our choice is to either pay to have a known bad part installed or park the car for an indefinite period. we then contacted fca recall assistance and met the same result. pay for the part and then return the car once again after the recall was resolved, or park the car. there would be no loaner or rental reimbursement considered. so, we are forced to pay for a repair that will not fix the issue and send my wife back out onto the streets with a known safety issue that may result in harm or worse. the dealer claims this is not his responsibility and since he is an independent, we "take it or leave it". fca recall assistance was almost useless and a waste of time.

We were out shopping for my son a car and had stopped at a dealership left the car running out it in park once we tried to put it in drive the car would not go into gear on may 25th. had it towed to the dealer we purchased it from ( a chevy dealer) because we have a lifetime power train warranty. the following day we checked our mail and there was a recall on the transmission cable v34. the chevy dealer would not fix the problem cause the part is unavailable so we had to pay again for a tow to a dodge dealer for a temporary fix!!! we live in a rural area my daughter needs transportation to college but yet the dodge manufacturer will provide us with a rental until our car is fixed! the car is not drivable the dealer will kit have the temporary part for 3-5 business days!!! i have reached out to other non dodge dealers and they have stated that if it were their vehicle they would provide their customers with a rental until the car was repaired the gm dealer stated that. i'm assuming they appreciate their customers therefore i or any family members will be buying a jeep dodge etc product again!! and i will do whatever it takes to let others know of the poor customer service provided!! we are live paycheck to paycheck like most americans and can't afford a hard ship like this , we also have to pay for both tow bills and the temporary fix until your company releases a reliable part which states could be the end of august and that's when i'll be reimbursed!!! i know those of you making the decisions will laugh at a person like me and my family thinking this is silly but this is truly a hardship on us and you couldn't possibly understand the stress and financial strain it has caused!!!

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while attempting to park the vehicle, the transmission would not shift out of the reverse position. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 131,000.

I took my car in for a recall and as of may 13th i'm still without my vehicle and still having to make the payment plus insurance. i don't know when i will get my car but it has been in the shop enough times i filed for a breech of warranty but chrysler only offered me 4000 take away the 2000 for attorney fees so 2000 is what i would have walked away with. i did not accept the offer and now i'm trying to figure out what to do. my car doesn't have a remedy for the issue but it's had transmission problems since day 1 had new engine new turbo new starter new gaskets new radiator and much more and nothing has been because of neglect. i truly feel i have a lemon on my hands and need help getting into a safe car. the dealership won't do anything about it told me to get a lawyer so i did but unless we agreed on an amount they wouldn't proceed. my car is unsafe to drive and i'm trying to get a lawyer that can take care of this or help me get a safer car for me and my kids.*dt consumer stated pcm/tcm has been a recall in the past engine light being on is code p2096 which caused leak in one of the hoses.*jb *js

Clutch master cylinder failure.

When driving, the car would start to randomly go into neutral when it got up to higher rpms, the car would act like it had no power and once it got to a certain rpm it would rev up and not accelerate at all. the clutch would still shift into gears but could not have much power at all unless you went extremely slow and built up the speed after a long period of time. after that the car will not move at all. no matter what gear you put it into, it registers that it's in neutral all the time. the shifter physically shifts into a gear, but even after taking my foot off of the clutch in a gear it won't stall out, and won't move at all in any gear or reverse. it smelled burnt like the clutch was burnt out of it. my mother was driving when the car stopped registering gears, and was on a hill at the time. luckily she had enough momentum to get up the hill and pull over before she started coasting back down and injured her. the car will not move at all unless towed. the car has low miles and we've only owned it for a little over a year. we read up on whether this was a common problem, and called a local shop about recalls, to which they said the previous owners replaced the transmission, and the clutch had a recall that had not been replaced but was expired.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact stated that the transmission cable came undone while attempting to park the vehicle. the contact had to apply the emergency brake to stop the vehicle from rolling since it could not be placed in the park gear. the vehicle was towed to oxmoor chrysler dodge jeep ram (4520 shelbyville rd, louisville, ky 40207, (502) 895-4520) where it was diagnosed that they would have to replace the transmission cable. the manufacturer was not contacted. the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). the failure mileage was 153,000.

Vehicle stalls when driving. randomly stalls even when attempting to break. can increase the likelihood of a car accident occurring. makes it difficult to go faster because then car stalls a lot and causes break light to flash on and off. this mainly happens when the car is on drive although sometimes the car can feel jittery when being on park.

The parking brake has failed on two occasions, once while stationary when it was at the dealership. it crashed into a car in their parking lot in 2016. the vehicle has been in and out of the dealership over the last four years. it was in the dealership in 2015-2016 thirteen times for oil leaks and the engine either dying or almost seizing while in motion. this resulted in my vehicle starting on fire in late 2016 early 2017. the repair for the fire damage was covered by my insurance company and it was subsequently fixed by a different dealership after that. more recently, it was in my driveway and rolled into my truck and damaged the front of the vehicle's bumper while stationary with the parking brake was engaged. the symptoms with the engine have also started to reappear while in motion in 3rd or 4th gear... it starts to act like it's going to completely die. needless to say, i have it back in the dealership for diagnostics. some of the recalls listed on this website sound like things i have experienced, please let me know if there is anything i can do. my time is the main thing i care about at this point and don't want to spend another 2 years endlessly in and out of the dealership. i just want a car that operates normally.

I have a 2013 dodge dart aero 6 speed manual, dual dry clutch, multi air turbo. i purchased vehicle in february 2017. 4 months later i had brought my vehicle into carsense for an oil change. meanwhile i asked them to check the brakes also due to braking issues and my ebrake was not working properly and had a mind of it's own. it worked when it wanted to, but yet everything is in "great condition" says carsence.mind you that i had just purchased this vehicle in february and it was recently inspected in january 2017. service dept. inspected my brakes and gave me the current measurements of existing brake pads left. about june 2018 i was coming up to a stop sign in a 25 mph side street with light traffic. i had trouble slowing down to a complete stop. when i managed to come to a complete stop i heard a loud bang. here my driver's side rear rotor was severely smoking and i noticed my rotor was redhot. my rotor snapped completely in half. my shifter would randomly pop out of gear or the clutch would lightly stick, smelling exhaust odor i'm now pushing 62, 000 miles and what do you know. i am coming home into my development. i'm in second gear turning onto my lane and doing maybe 10 mph well it decides to pop out of gear and accelerates, redlining second gear(i'm assuming it thinks it's in second) and all dashboard lights are flashing steering wheel it locked. car is now doing 80 mph in a 15 mph zone. my brakes are not working at all brake pedal is harder than hard. i have no control of this vehicle!! engine finally cuts out after i removed the key from the ignition. comes to a screeching halt. thank god. it wont start still to this day..oil in turbo and up the hose. battery plays dead along with my instrument panel and my transmission needs a computer upgrade that's not even available for the 1.4l turbo engine...it needs a tcm, new master cylinder.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. when attempting to drive, the gear shifter failed to shift out of gear. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the shift cable detached and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer were notified of the failure. after receiving email about recall as recommended by the representative. contact did not call the dealer since she to get repair the vehicle the day of the incident. the approximate failure mileage was 88,000. *tt*jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving 55 mph, the vehicle failed to shift into second gear, and went from first to third gear. the vehicle was taken to cullman chrysler dodge jeep ram (located at 300 benchmark way, cullman, al 35057, (256) 615-2563) where it was awaiting diagnostic testing. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 64,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). the contact stated that manahawkin chrysler dodge jeep ram (500 new jersey 72 west, manahawkin, nj 08050, (866) 834-5922) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the part was not available for the repair. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.

I put my car in reverse to back out of my parking space and it switched into neutral and is now stuck there. my key will not come out of the ignition due to it being stuck in neutral.

The clutch gets stuck on the floor and i'm unable to shift gears. this happens on a daily basis. i've been stuck in my drive way because i can't get the gear into the reverse position. same this has happened in traffic where i'm stuck because i can get the gear into first to move the car forward. once i do get the gear to go the car shoots forward dangerously. there is also a significant loss of power. when trying to drive up a hill the car can barely move and the rpms go higher yet there's no power.

Car slipped in nuetral and stuck in nuetral

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while the vehicle was parked with the key in the ignition, the "auto stick unavailable" message appeared, which then changed to "service transmission". the vehicle failed to start after several attempts. also, the check engine warning indicator flashed. when the contact attempted to shift into reverse, "gear not available" appeared on the instrument panel. the contact stated that the failures occurred at least five times per week for the past five months. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 48,000.

I got in my parked car, started it up and tried to put the car in reverse but there was no tension when i lifted the lever on the shifter. the lever moved up and down and i could shift into any gear except reverse. lifted shifter boot and found the reverse lockout cable was snapped. a month or so after, i was leaving my house and it was snowing. the roads were slick and as i got closer to the stop sign at the end of my street here in town, my car was sliding. tried to use my emergency brake to get some traction so i could stop but, just like the reverse lockout cable lever, as i lifted the brake there wasn't any tension and the lever moved up and down freely. luckily there weren't any oncoming cars in the intersection as i slid through. in both cases there wasn't a reason for these parts to suddenly stop working. neither were used forcefully, my car has never been in an accident and i have 20 years experience driving manual transmissions. my car had less than 100k miles and neither were used excessively. basically, the reason both of the parts just stopped working suddenly is unknown. i searched online for a replacement reverse lockout cable, i found that the whole shifter assembly has to be replaced as there was a difference in the length to correct a defect with the lockout cable (? yet no recall?) now i can't even find a replacement part. i contacted mopar to ask if any other darts had recalls related to my issues but i was told my parts have already been tested and cleared by the nhtsa and there was nothing more to do. regardless, i feel reverse and the emergency brake are both critical and could easily pose substantial risk if defective.

The check engine light periodically comes on and then the transmission doesn't work. the message given on the dash is that the gear box isn't available. when you put the car in gear, the indicator light flashes and the car won't move. the car sits for a couple of days, then it starts working again for a few weeks. it is asinine that there are so many complaints about the exact same thing, but nothing has been done about it by the manufacturer. thank goodness this hasn't happened while driving on the streets, but it will eventually. when i backed it out of the driveway the other morning it stopped working and the engine just revved. i would rather junk this car than fix it, but we still owe on it. we've only had the stupid thing for 6 months and there was only one owner prior to us. this is two for two for crap dodge cars. i will never own another!

I have felt slips in the transmission lately but yesterday i was driving on a city street and it just went to neutral and would not go in drive or reverse. the dash displayed words saying service needed on transmission. i shut the vehicle off and wited a few minutes. when i started it again, it went into drive and i parked it in my driveway which was a block away. i researched online and saw where there is a recall for this problem. am i covered on this?

I was driving to my local albertsons and when pulling into my parking space in the car lot i went to shift my transmission into park but when i moved the stick up from drive to park i noticed that the stick felt too smooth as if it didnt catch. sure enough when i checked the light still read "d" for drive instead of "p" for park at this point i had a vehicle that i couldn't normally shift so maintaining my foot on the break i was able to power off the engine but my keys were still stuck inside as thats a feature of the car if the car is not set on park. i put on my emergency hand brake and luckly the car wasn't moving on its own. after calling aaa to tow my car the mechanic said that the shift cable bushing had broke. he said i was lucky to be in a situation where i was able to stop in the safe area to address this as had this happened if i was reversing on a hill or attempting park downhill and it broke then it could have led to a collision.

The shift cable has been coming out. it will jump off while driving.

I have had so many issues with this car, my life has been put in danger on countless occasions. the 2013 dodge dart should not be on the road, it is a danger to others and to its drivers. i bought my car in 2013 and from day one i always felt that there was something wrong with the way it shifted. it is now 2019 and for the past four years the car has been in and out of the shop for transmission issues even after the car was taken in for the transmission control module recall. the car has revved up to 80 mph on its own while i was at a complete stop, if i had taken my foot off the brake i would have driven in to the intersection. the cars rpms have gone up to 7,000 while i was at 50 mph, the car has problems shifting back down while coming to a slower speed on the freeway, the car has stalled out in cold temperatures and shut off completely, the car has lost all boost while stepping on the gas driving on city streets, the car is 6 years old 67,000 miles and needs the entire transmission replaced one week after my 6 year warranty ended. this car is defective and unpredictable, not only has this car been a financial burden but it has put mine and my child's life in danger and the dealer can not fix the reoccurring problems.

When shifting car from park to reverse or reverse to drive vehicle move to neutral. while driving car shifts going 30mph into neutral. current vin number not under recall but other makes and model of this vehicle are on recall for this

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving approximately 5 mph, the transmission erroneously shifted into neutral. in addition, the vehicle would not accelerate and could not be turned off immediately. the vehicle was taken to hendrick dodge (81 mcknan dr, cary, nc) where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module was faulty and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified, but no assistance was offered. the contact was informed that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v542000 (power train). the contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. the failure mileage was 51,000.

Takata recall. hi i have a 2013 dodge dart limited with 118,000 miles on it. i was at a 4 way stop sign i went to go and all of a sudden my car would not do anything. my gears would not work. drive, reverse and neutral all do not work. i've been told it's the transmission.there should have been a recall on this transmission. it's a automix 1.4 turbo transmission. this should be on your guys to recall and relace my transmission.

I have taken this vehicle into elk grove dodge 4 times for the transmission safety recall. each time the transmission goes out. june 15, 2018 was the last time the transmission went out. elk grove dodge replaced the transmission.with approximately 59,893 miles on the car. approximately 1.5 months ago 6 months later i was on the free way and all of a sudden the vehicle jumped out of gear and went into neutral. i then lost power to the engine and almost crashed into the center divide. i contacted elk grove dodge when i finally got home with the vehicle. the service manager advised me that they were not going to honor their warranty even if it was under safety recall. i contacted dodge resolutions dept. spoke to a guy by the name of chance. this guy is taking his dear sweet time in helping me. this vehicle is a lemon and chrysler is starting to refuse to do anything about this problem.

While driving on the highway to work the car will stall and begin to jerk. the engine light will begin to flash while in motion and the car will slow down in speed and then pick back up after a while. after cranking the car it will shut off while still parked. the car will also shut off when slowing down to turn onto another street.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. while driving 15 mph, the gear shifted out of drive and into neutral on its own. also, the transmission service and check engine indicators illuminated. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 37,000.

It appears there is an alarming noise coming from the engine when i start the car at degrees lower than 40. this is an intermittent issue but when it occurs i loose power while driving down the road resulting in my rpm's to jump higher than normal accompanied by vibration and rataling coming from under the hood or tire (its hard to tell) . from my research, the cold start issue was a recall for 2013 dodge dart but it is not showing for my vin. could someone please reach out to me reguarding this complaint??

I got in my car, started in, placed it in drive and pulled out of my driveway. i got no more than 4 feet and the transmission shifted into neutral on its own from drive and then stop moving. i put the brake on, moved the gear stick into park and attempted to restart the car. it would not turn over. i looked down at the gear shift and realized it was still in drive and said the same on the dash. repeated tries proved to be fruitless. the car is now engaged in drive and prevents me from removing my key from the ignition.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact stated that there had been multiple failures pertaining to the emergency brake and turbos. also, the vehicle misfired and failed to start several times. while on an incline, the vehicle reversed when the emergency brake was applied. the dealer (baxter chrysler dodge jeep ram omaha (17950 burt st, omaha, ne 68118, (402) 800-1230) was notified of the failures and diagnosed that the emergency brake needed to be replaced a third time because a porcelain piece surrounding the center electrode fractured and a plug came out of a piston top associated with the cylinder walls, which damaged the catalytic converter, the turbo, and the long block. the dealer replaced the parts. the contact was uncertain if the oem parts that were replaced caused the failures because, after the repairs, the failures continued. the manufacturer was notified of the failures and did not assist. the manufacturer recommended that the vehicle be taken to the dealer. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

When turning into my driveway to park my car. the gear shifted to neutral when i thought i parked my car i tried to put it in drive, reverse, and park but it would not shift to another gear. also my key is stuck in the ignition because it's stuck in neutral.

I purchased the car july 2017 and has been at the dealer 5 times due to problems. i had a reoccurring issue with the battery light coming up, the dealer found no issues with the battery. march 2018 the battery sign lit up followed by a slew of other signals, including a power steering lock signal, the car started shaking and the power steering locked. i was at the light making a left when this happened. i was able to pull the steering wheel hard enough to make the left and luckily found a parking lot where i could park since i was in a heavily transited area. attached is a picture i took after i was able to safely park the car. the car was towed to the dealership and they found no issues with the car, i had to pay $250+ for this. november 2018, the bluetooth does not connect, the odometer is blinking continuously and the car shakes when at a stop. the dealership has had the car for three weeks and turns out to be that the bluetooth console needed to be changed ($900+ cost), a tune up was needed 'badly' ($400+) and there was believed to be a problem with a piece of the transmission that was causing the car to shake. the powertrain warranty would cover the cost of this last issue if it was found to be that this was the problem. if it was found that the transmission part was not causing the shaking, we would need to cover the $600+ cost for the labor. we are in process of dealing this matter with a manager at the dealership, since we do not want to keep this car.

Was driving the car down the freeway when all the warning lights on the dash lit up. the car lost power steering and started to shut down. i had to fight to get it off the road since the power steering was gone. all the lights remained lit up. i believe it's the pcm do to other recall but my car is a manual and the recall is for automatics only.
