I filled up the car with gas and after driving about half a mile the engine stalled while in traffic. the car started and stalled repeatedly five or six times for about four blocks. at a certain point the problem stopped and the car was drivable. i took the car to a nearby auto shop and they found no error codes in the system. after leaving the auto shop the car continued to drive without stalling. several weeks later i filled up with gas again and the problem repeated itself after driving about half a mile. the engine stalled about five times. it was more difficult to turn the engine over this time but it eventually started and drove fine. *tr
Our chrysler 300c had begun to stall out while driving with more than 3/4 tank of gas. we began to limit the amount of gas to never fill more than 3/4 tank. this lasted for approximately 6 months. in dec, 2013 the vehicle began to stall at other times. i had between 1/4 to 1/2 in the tank when we were driving at approx 45mph when the vehicle began to stall then restart at first. then it stalled entirely several times that evening as we tried to make it home. i had my 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters with me at the time. the next morning i took the vehicle to local dlr, lee chrysler, were i purchased the vehicle. the vehicle stalled on me 3 times while i was trying to make it the 3 miles. the dealer had the car until 12-16-2013 when they advised that the proportional valve/purge vale needed replaced and that all of the updates to the system needed to be made. the total of this attempt to repair was $379.45. the car immediately began to stall again so i returned it. they kept the car for approximately two weeks with their computer hooked up to it then advised that the pcm needed replaced this repair cost a total of $1,018.61. the car was on empty so he offered to stop for gas. he filled the tank up then pulled out to 5 lanes of traffic and stalled. the vehicle would not restart for several attempts. i called the dealer and they wrecker after the vehicle. they had the car for one night and called us to pick up and run the gas out to 1/4tank. we were told it would not stall again because they had disconnected the emissions system. while i was driving the car on a very busy 7 lane hwy with my daughter and 3 month old granddaughter the car came to a dead stop in 40mph traffic. i was terrified but was able to get the vehicle to the center lane. they have now called and advised another sensor must be replaced. someone is going to get injured or killed in this car. *tr
Stalled several times while driving after filled up with gas. *tr
Electrical problem has been happening since purchase in december 2005. sometimes power windows will not go up or down, lights on temp gauges and dash have burned out and heated seats occasionally get super hot. headlights have gone out while driving even after replacing the switch and all the trouble lights have come on while driving down the road. have taken to many different dealers and none have found any problems they say. *tr
In january i filed a safety complaint on this web site regarding the stalling of my chrysler 300c after filling the gas tank (odi # 10561779). over the last two and a half months the problem has persisted, with the only way to avoid the problem was to only fill the gas tank to 3/4 full. on 2/24/14 i saw the abc news report that stated "us ends probe of chrysler engine stalling" and the article states they investigated 1200 complaints and found 299 in which the fuel system allowed the gas tank to be over-filled. it also stated that "chrysler updated the part in new cars and guaranteed it for life in cars now on the road." when my chrysler dealer (who has been taking care of my chrysler since i bought it there new in 2/2006) was contacted, he stated that only certain vin numbers were being covered. he told me i could call chrysler and speak to them. i called the 1-800-992-1997 chrysler customer service this morning. i explained about the stalling and that i had filed a complain back in december 2013 regarding the consistent stalling when the tank is filled. i explained my chrysler dealer stated my car was not on their list, and to call chrysler. the representative informed me that they were only fixing certain cars and mine was not one of them and that i could take it to the dealer and pay to have it fixed. when i asked if it turned out to be the exact same part that was being replaced, would they cover it, i was informed they would not. i am unsure what factors guided chrysler on which cars to fix, but it appears that they have left out at least my car which has exactly the same described problem i have seen on the complaint web site. *tr
Last month, i filled my 300c with mid grade gas, which is what i have always used since i bought it new in 2006, and then directly entered the turnpike. travel speed was 70 mph. approximately 1 hour later, exited into a turnpike plaza. there is a left hand turn into the parking area about 500 feet after you exit the highway. as i slowed then coasted around the turn, the engine stalled and the oil light came on. i coasted a short distance until i stopped. i was able to get the car started again, after several tries. this was the first time this had ever happened. i had bought gas and entered the turnpike at that same location many times in the past. i had no further problems getting home. however, last week, i filled up tank and exited my local gas station, which sits on the corner of a main road and a side street. as i turned to get on the side road, the street light turned red, as i slowed to stop, the engine died. i got the car restarted and when the light turned green i stated to go and it stalled again. i got it started drove the 2 miles home and as i pulled into my housing development it stalled a third time. i am not sure what is happening in the engine. this car has had all its maintenance performed at the dealer, including oil changes and has been a great car. i have never had any problems before these stallings started happening. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c. the contact stated that after refueling, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the failure and current mileage was 81,010.
Car stalls after fill-up. will stall even without topping off tank. this will happen when pulling out into traffic. will stall multiple times and buck while driving for a time. can not fill up tank. *tr
In august of 2012 my vehicle had around 76,000 miles and it was the first time i experience my vehicle stalling out and turning off while driving at around 30mphs, i pulled over and tried restarting my vehicle and notice there was loss of power and engine was behaving abnormal. i turned it off and restarted after a few minutes and that's when i hard a loud metallic engine noise. i had my car towed to puente hills chrysler dealer and they told me i had no compression in a few cylinders, due to their bad customer service i had my vehicle towed to an independent shop that told me this was a common issue with all chrysler and dodge vehicle's with the 5.7l engines. after diagnosing and taking the valve covers off they found the valve seats had dropped and bent the valves. total cost was $3,500. now, november 28, 2013 with 100,995 miles on my vehicle, same thing happened again, vehicle stalled at around 10mphs and once again when trying to restart heard the metallic noise coming from the engine area. this time they are charging me $4,000 to have it fix. *tr
After refueling the car, i was entering the main road from a side street, when the car started to buck and bounce. it eventually shut off. i started the car again and while pulling to the side of the road, the bucking and bouncing started again. i shut the engine off myself. i waited approx. 3-5 minutes and restarted the vehicle and drove it to the chrysler dealership. this stalling/bucking has happened three times and each time the vehicle has been returned to the dealership. *tr
The below are inserts from my contact and correspondence with chrysler corporation, and the chrysler dealership i purchased my vehicle from about the issue with stalling after filling with my 2006 chrysler 300 srt8. there is sufficient evidence listed and documented all over the blogs to chrysler corporation?s online forum to indicate that this problem is well known by your organization and the dealerships who service our vehicles, and if you want to really won't to assist me in ensuring that this matter is corrected you can instruct and authorize airpark chrysler jeep to resolved my problem without further delay or the need to continue with further consumer complaints. as i stated above, this issue is well documented and falls on the responsibility of the chrysler corporation and the local dealerships to rectify without all the run-around i am receiving at the moment to get this accomplished. my vehicle needs a new gas tank installed to rectify the problem and you can assist in getting this done by providing that replacement and contacting the dealership that needs to do it. sincerely, subject: chrysler update case#:[xxx] *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)
Within a minute or so of refueling, the engine stalled and, consequently, the power steering and power brakes failed. the car would re-start with little difficulty only to stall again very shortly thereafter. eventually, after perhaps 10 minutes of starts/stalls, and re-starts, operation would return to normal. at the time of the first occurrence, i had no reason to believe that this problem was related to refueling. however, the problem has since recurred with every refueling (at least 4 refuelings so far), resulting in numerous engine stalls in traffic. apart from these refueling-related incidents the car runs perfectly, and my local mechanic has said that "the car's computer" indicates all systems are normal. a google search on my problem, however, suggests that the problem is extremely common in chrysler 300cs of a similar vintage. *tr
This issue has been happening for the last year or so. my car stalls for no reason it happens when i am backing out of parking spot, stopped at a light, entering or exiting the freeway, while i am driving on surface streets and when i am driving on the freeway. if i am driving on surface streets or freeway the car does not stall but momentarily dies (for a half second). my engine light flashes and all the gauges on the dashboard go to 0. the car will then come back to life and continue to operate normally but can "die" again a few moments later or not at all for days or months. it feels like an electronic issue but it is very difficult to say has there is no common characteristic between each incident and there does not appear to be any common environmental issue that causes it. the issue is intermittent does not happen often but happens often enough that it is a concern. some days it will happen repeatedly then not happen for months. lately it has been happening more frequently i have taken my car into the dealership twice. the first time they found no codes and could not determine there was an issue as the issue is intermittent. the second time i had a engine light and they found a code for tcm sensor but stated that was not the problem. they said i had too much transmission fluid that caused a sensor to malfunction, they removed the excess fluid but the issue has still persisted. the most recent incident did not trigger any codes. *tr
For the past several months, every time i fill up with gas, my car dies several times before i get home, which is about 5 miles from the gas station. sometimes it will speed up without me pushing the accelerator just before it dies. it dies before i get out of the gas station, sometimes. other times it dies as i pull to a stop at the light 1,000 feet from the gas station. the most recent occurrence was 2 days ago. i've had it to the dealership service department twice for this, but they can't find anything wrong. the fill up before this last one, i only filled the tank half full, and it didn't die, so it must be something to do with filling it all the way up. i don't top the tank off, either. *tr
I had just made a left hand turn onto an access road going approximately 35mph. i noticed my car was bucking and seemed to sputter. first the oil light came on followed by the engine light along with all the dashboard lights. once the lights went off, i had lost all power. the steering wheel was very difficult to turn but i managed to turn off onto a side street and get out of traffic. thankfully i had not yet made it onto the expressway, which by the way was during 5 o'clock rush hour traffic! i sat there for a minute and then tried to restart the car. it started up and was drivable. it still sputtered some on the way home. i am hopeful i can make it back into town and take it to an auto repair shop. my car is a one owner car that my late husband bought for me. i love this car. although it is beginning to have issues and i don't know how much more money i can keep putting into repairs. i have had to have to replace the water pump on two occasions. the latest one was replaced in april, 2013. i have had the module front control & ignition switch both replaced at the dealership @ 83,918 miles 5/31/2013. i have it scheduled for a tune up and fuel injector tune up ironically tomorrow morning before the stalling issue happened. i have felt the car sputter and buck before and i thought it was due for a tune up. however, now i believe this is all together a separate issue. hopefully chrysler will step up to the plate and recall these vehicles to be repaired at no expense to the owner. *tr
After refueling the vehicle it stalls. the vehicle looses steering power. this has happened numerous times. i have tried to not let the fuel get to low and have tried filling the tank at different levels with no luck. *tr
My husband filled up the tank on 110413 (already had 1/4 tank). i drove to and from work, but once i backed into the yard the vehicle would not crank again. as i revved the engine the car would act like it would continue running after the initial start up, but as soon as i took my foot off of the accelerator the car cut off. i had to have the car towed to a chrysler dealership, but no one mentioned the issues that customers have been having with this specific vehicle (2006 300c with hemi). vehicle is currently in the shop and the mechanic mentioned it might be the engine... oh really!!!!! *tr
The engine abruptly stalls shutting down power steering and brakes while in traffic and oil pressure is reading 0. turn ignition switch off and car restarts perfectly with nl oil pressures. this has happened twice nearly causing accidents. would probably be fatal if on interstate. there is absolutely no warning. there was also no error codes stored in the cars computer. *tr
After fueling car, it stalls out. after restart will run and may or may not stall again. not a very good thing to happen. could become the cause of an accident. dealership says no recalls on car. *tr
After filling up with gas i went about 2-3 miles on us1 in wake forest, after stopping at the light at us1a i proceeded to turn onto us1a and my car stalled. i was in the middle of a lot of traffic and i had to manage to turn onto the side of the road and restart the car to continue to proceed. after traveling about another 1 to 2 miles it stalled again. this is the second time after filling the gas tank that this has happened and when the vehicle stalls i lose power steering which makes it very difficult to drive. *tr
After filling up the fuel tank from a start of 1/8 th to full tank, the car stalled after leaving the service station about 200 feet down the road while stopped at a light. after getting the vehicle restarted i began to accelerate from the stopped position but driving power train was fairly erratic as the car attempted to lurch forward or accelerate unpredictably then would pull back by nearly stalling. this continued for several miles before reaching my driveway. the car while in neutral loped substantially from 2000 rpm to 100rpm several times before stalling. attempting to start the car after stalling was successful. leaving the car parked and off for 60 minutes had no beneficial effect. after returning the starting was very difficult and the instrument panel gauges were not lit until the car started again. the car continues to be idle erratically both while in park and in drive and at slow speeds. *tr
Going around a rotary in everett, mass. the car just shut itself off. *tr
If vehicle is filled up with gas until full car will stall shortly after fill-up. *tr
I was pulling into a parking lot when my car stalled . i was able to restart and continue. but this happened again about a week later . after that i drove it for about a month and half , no problem ! i read a lot of the complaints and several people indicated that it happens when they refill. well i kind of agree with that. now its 11/01/13 and today i turned right into a parking lot and it stalled that was on friday. since then it has stalled several times but restarts ! i took it to the chrysler to dealer on monday. $700.00 at end of day , was told the pc needed to be updated. and needed a tuneup.. tue it stalled again. problem not solved. well today 11/05/13 its at dealer again. they don't know what's wrong with it. i love this car and i have taken very good care of it, its like new.help????? *tr
i was on the way to a doctors appt with my pregnant daughter on 264 heading towards chesapeake, va. i was doing 55 mph and the tank was on 1/8 th of a tank. as we were driving, about 15 min later, the car lurched, a ding was heard, the etc light flashed, the rpms dropped to 0, then resumed a second later causing the lurching forward. about 3 to 4 minutes and intermittently over the next 15 min later, it did the same thing, but also stalled at the stop lights on the way there. no codes came up when diagnostics were put on it. the throttle control unit was replaced and a relearn was done, this did nothing. same thing happened. i have read many other reports of this happening and no one has an exact fix for this. also, may have nothing to do with this, but about 2 weeks prior to this happening, i was filling up with gas and the tank overflowed. no problems occurred through the next 3 or 4 fill ups, the tank was on an 1/8 when the first hesitation and stalling occurred. *tr
After refueling, car stalls. this happens after driving approximately 2 to 3 minutes after leaving gas station. the stall has taken place at intersections, while at a complete stop and while driving no more than 5 -10mph after leaving the gas station.. car restarts after several attempts in neutral. when each incident occurs, the oil icon comes on, however the oil level is not low. on one occasion after having backed into a parking space with the car gear shift still in reverse and my foot on the brake, the car lurched. the tires could be heard spinning. that was very scary because my car could have rolled into a busy highway. once the fuel level indicates approximately a half a tank, no stalling incidents take place. car was taken to the dealership with this concerned. service advisor was aware of chyrsler 300c stalls after refueling. fuel injection system was serviced/cleaned. this has not resolved the problem. car still stalling. really afraid to drive the car, however i am taking it back to the dealership to let them know of the still ongoing problem. *tr
Car stalls after filling up gas tank has happened a dozen times or more. i have almost been hit on two occassions if the other driver hadn't ran into a ditch we both could have been killed this time. i know it's going to stall after i fill it up. i now get gas close to a large department store with access to there parking lot where i can drive till it finishes it's 3 to 4 times of stalling on fill up. someone is going to get killed over this issue.
Driving down road car engine will cut out may restart some times , or stall and have to restart manually, check engine light came on took to local dealership put on computer said that it just sent basic code have had car for over 3 month returned car said there was nothing wrong next day driving car did same thing 4 times more on me engine light on again said same code now have had car for another month saying that they can not duplicate problem. *tr
Vehicle stalled twice after filling up the gas tank, once exiting the gas station waiting for the light to turn green and another 3 minutes later at another light on the feeder road of the highway. i have never had any other issues as car is well maintained: oil changes with synthetic, air filter, transmission service, spark plugs, ect. i also only use 89 octane fuel as recommended in the owners manual. *tr
5 minutes after filling up my 06 chrysler 300c srt-8 6.1l at a gas station i was crossing over traffic to make a left turn and my car died in the middle of oncoming traffic. it took several minutes to restart then lurched forward after put into gear. this is the second time right after filling my tank this has occurred. the time before it stalled merging onto interstate on ramp. *tr
After filling up with fuel, the engine stalled shortly after. this has occurred on a regular basis when filling the fuel tank using regular unleaded gas. several complaints duplicate this occurrence. *tr
After refueling, my car suddenly stalled as my children and i were leaving the gas station. i was able to restart the car and continue driving. as i was driving, the car started losing acceleration and would "jump" around. the check engine light and eps light came on. i pulled over, turned the car off, and manually turned the eps light off. the car started, the eps light went off, but on occasion on it would lose power. the check engine light has been on ever since. i took the car to the dealership the next day and i have been told that the crankshaft sensor needs replacing but can't guarantee that is what's wrong with the car since he keeps getting different codes each time he does diagnostic. *jb
Purchased car used and within 24 hours had car stall on me totaling about 6 times now within 2 weeks. it has stalled everywhere from highway speeds to idling and while in reverse. car starts back up without problem if put in neutral or park. have had fuel injectors cleaned, new spark plugs ( manufacturer suggested copper) and all new ignition coils. dealership said the stalling was caused by old spark plugs and worn ignition coils but continues to stall after all of these were replaced. it doesn't seem to matter what speed i am going, but seems to stall more when i reach around a quarter tank of gas. the car has stalled on me several times in traffic and while entering and exiting highway. i do not feel it is safe to drive especially with kids and family in the car, there is no warning of stall and is very unpredictable.
Vehicle stalled at major intersection shortly after refueling and would not restart and stay running. had to be pushed out of intersection and off roadway by police. no codes appeared. numerous restarts and stalls before car was drivable. brought to mechanic who computer scanned for diagnosis. no codes. problem has now recurred 2 more times immediately after last 2 fill ups. most recent was reentering rte 23s near wayne nj after filling up. car stalled and created a serious hazard for me and passengers trying to avoid rear end collision while pulling to shoulder with no power. very busy road with 50-60 mph traffic. car would not restart and stay running - requiring 5-7 restart/stalls before it was drivable. brought to mechanic for diagnosis again. no codes on scanner. very dangerous situation. *tr
After filling up with gas, the engine has stalled without any warning, at very low speed limit, this occurred three times, after a few gallons of gas were used the problem went away. this particular incident has happened on three separate times before. i am concerned i could be involved in rear end accident if the engine stalls in traffic. *tr
While driving on a main road in my city the engine stalled 3 times in a 5 mile range finally shutting off again in a parking spot at my local gym this is very concerning, because this puts me at risk of being rear ended. this is a safety issue, i was lucky this time but might not be the next. *jb
The car has been stalling out after being started. now it is almost shutting off or becoming unresponsive mid acceleration from a stop sign. the car will at random stall. the engine does not need to be restarted so far while driving. it will "die" for a few seconds and then comes back again just short of complete engine shut down. rear window on passenger side is also non responsive. it has only worked once since i have had the car. *tr
After returning home from work, i noticed a knocking/grinding sound coming from my engine. i have taken the car to a chrysler dealer and they told me that there is internal engine damage, most likely the lifter push rod part of the engine. i was informed by chrysler customer service that there were some vehicles of this class that had been covered under a recall for the lifter problem, but that the recall was vin specific. when i asked how the determination was made as to which vehicles were covered and how the coverage was extended, i could not get a answer. it is not right that a vehicle of the same class as mine is subject to a recall and my vehicle was not. neither do i understand why i could not be told by chrysler if they had attempted to contact the owner of the vehicle at the time the recall took place. that in order that when the vehicle was sold, that pertinent information could be transmitted during the sale. absent this information, whom do i as a buyer, unknowning place responsibility? *js
My 300c stalled out on the freeway while accelerating during a traffic jam. it took a couple tries to restart the engine. *tr
On 8/29, i picked my car up from the dealership for a repair to the body. when i attempted to start the vehicle, it turned over but would not start. after several attempts, i went back inside and made the service manager aware. he came out and after a few tries, it started. they told me they didn't know what was wrong with it but that it seemed to be fine so i could take it. i started the vehicle with no issue and took it to a nearby gas station to fill it up. after filling it up, it would not start. the vehicle was towed back to the dealership. it was at the dealership from 8/29 to 9/26. during that time, the battery was changed, the evap canister was replaced and the gas tank was replaced. when i went to pick the vehicle up on 9/26, it would not start. after several attempts and pumping the gas while turning the ignition, the vehicle started. i am now only able to start the vehicle if the gas pedal an pumped while the key is being turned. the vehicle has also attempted to stall several times since i got it back and doesn't have the power it had when i bought it. i have also smelled gas while driving immediately after accelerating. my check engine light is now on also. the dealer has requested that i bring the vehicle back to them and i fear that it will be there another 4 weeks and return to me in the same or even worse condition! *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning while driving at low speeds. the failure was recurring. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where a diagnostic was performed however, the dealer was unable to locate a failure code. the dealer reprogrammed the main computer system but the failure was not corrected. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure and current mileage was 66,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c. the contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where the failure was unable to be replicated. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure and current mileage was 90,000.
After a fill-up (not topped off) on august 5, 2013 as i merged onto the freeway the engine stalled and there was a complete loss of power. i was extremely frightened because my grandson was in the back in his carseat and it was peak traffic time. additionally without power i was having a hard time maneuvering the car to the side of the freeway to a spot where there was enough room to stop. i was able to restart the engine but the engine was not running smoothly. at the first off ramp i pulled off the fwy but the engine kept stalling whenever i had to slow down or at a stoplight. this was another safety issue for my grandson and me. it was a miracle that we were not involved in an accident. when i took the car to a chrysler service center the outcome was that they could not recreate the problem. the next morning i received a call from a service rep and was told that he researched the problem and that the gas tank needed to be replaced. i asked if chrysler took ownership of this problem and was told no'. for overall safety i had the tank replaced. ($1200.00) i also contacted chrysler corp to relate the engine stall incident so that they would be aware and investigate for safetys sake. essentially i was told that chrysler was not aware of any other complaints and they would not accept responsibility for the need to replace the fuel tank. i first experienced an engine stall after a fill up on october 12, 2012. i had the car towed to the chrysler service center and after checking the car the invoice stated road test vehicle, did not die at stops or while driving, no codes in pcm. transmission fluid, engine oil full. there was limited driving of the car. my vin is not covered under the recent extended warranty even though i have the same problem as other car owners. chrysler needs to accept full ownership before there is a serious accident. *js
The car randomly stalls out and sometimes while driving at highway speeds all the lights will briefly flash on in the dash, immediate loss of power and violent bucking. this is ridiculous! it happens all the time. this is not the full fuel tank stalling issue. i already had the tank replaced. this happens at wot or at idle or in between. this car is unsafe to drive. i have no confidence in the car anymore. i still love this car, but i'm considering going on a crusade against chrysler unless they do something immediately to fix this. read the forums - many people are having the same issues with the 6.1l and 5.7l engines. no one knows what to do. please help!!! *tr
My 2006 chrysler 300c (hemi 5.7) will stall at low speeds or when stopped at a traffic light. the car does restart. at higher speeds (e.g,, 60mph), the vehicle will exhibit a sudden loss of power (drop in rpms, followed by a chime sound) as if the engine is about to stall, before reaccelerating again. the stalling/loss of power issue does not occur all the time. sometimes, the car will operate as long as a day or two without incident. the dealer performed a complete system diagnostic - retrieved code po700 - related to loss of communication with pcm to multiple modules. (they may have been old stored codes.) then, they cleared the codes, road tested the car, but could not replicate the problem. the dealer returned the car and asked me to monitor it. they indicated that if the issue re-occurs, the vehicle will possibly need a pcm or ignition switch. my impression is that they are guessing at what the issue may be. the day after the car was returned to me, the same sudden stalling/loss of power issues recurred although the engine diagnostic light has not come on. i will be returning the car to the dealer, even though they have not been able to pinpoint the problem to date. i am very concerned about the sudden stalling and loss of power. this is a very serious safety issue that can result in an accident. i am married with a 9 month old baby. *tr
My husband filled the car with gas and drove it approx. 2 miles to our home. an hour later when i took the car out to go shopping, it hesitated/jerked forward twice as i was making 2 left turns leaving the subdivision. then the engine stalled and would not restart. after calling my husband, he was able to get the car started. he immediately took the car to the dealership and because there were no warning lights, they said they had no way to diagnose the problem. i felt extremely lucky that i was not on a busy street or in traffic when the car stalled. my husband let me know this morning, that the car has stalled several times after he pulls out of the gas station onto the street, when getting fuel. now it is nearly every time he fills the tank with gas and he feels it is getting worse. this is a very dangerous situation! many people are complaining about this same issue online. a recall needs to be issued to repair the problem before people are killed when the car stalls in traffic! *tr
Every time i fill up my chrysler 300c it stalls out several times. the first few times this occurred i was almost killed in a wreck due to the fact it stalled in a major intersection. this is not safe and very frustrating. chrysler is doing nothing to help. i read several complaints online and it just seems like a recall should be in affect. i trusted chrysler when i purchased this vehicle to provide me with a quality product that they would stand behind but yet they won't. please help they victims of chrysler. *tr
The engine stalled as i was approaching an intersection with a red light and would not start back up. the dealer diagnosed it as valve seat failure with no compression in one cylinder, of which i have found many similar complaints on the internet. they and several other mechanics suggested that the only way to go forward was to completely replace the engine. at 7 years old the car is no longer functional, but the fact that the engine died while i was driving it could have been very dangerous. while gm is recalling cars for stalling, their cause was much more minor and they finally acknowledged it - chrysler refuses to acknowledge it and i constantly hear from the dealer about how they've never heard of that happening before when even their mechanics acknowledge it happens a lot. *tr
On 4 occasions since december 2012 (i purchased it 6/2012), my car has stalled after fill up, on one of the three occasions the car would not restart for several minutes. all four times that the car stalled, it was while i was in traffic and turning. the first time i was turning on to a major highway in daytona beach, and the car would not restart. i do not overfill my tank, i only fill it until the pump shuts itself off. i have had my engine codes checked and there is not indication of any reason for the stall. i have two codes, one for an ambient air temperature sensor, and one for an oil pressure sensor. neither of those should have cause a random stall with no warning. my car is well maintained, and babied. *tr
After refueling my 2006 chrysler 300c it would shut off at highway speed. the car would shut off at a stop light or stop sign this happens only when the car is refueled. this has caused many safety issues because of the oncoming traffic and the car stalling in the intersection. *tr
