Problems with 2015 Chrysler 200 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. when the vehicle was stopped at a stop light, the vehicle stalled and lost power. the contact would have to depress the brake pedal for the vehicle to power back on and accelerate forward. the contact took the vehicle to don franklin campbellsville (located at 200 n bypass rd, campbellsville, ky, 42718, 877-702-2230) where it was diagnosed that the battery voltage circuit, control module, and front driver's side speed sensor failed. the vehicle was repaired, but the vehicle began to exhibit the same failure. the contact had to jumpstart the vehicle in order to drive. the contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who stated that diagnostic code: (tipm module u0001) appeared. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

While excellerating the car will hesitate. sometimes this causes the car to jerk very hard, other times the car acts like its stuck in between gears i have almost been hit a few times because of this. when i am stopped and go to take off it will almost stop and them jump forward real fast. other times it just jerks a few times and takes off. when i first bought my car it shifted into neutral on it's own a few times. this stopped once an update was done. my check engine light used to come on and go off. now it stays on. we have taken it to advance auto and the scan tool will not read any codes. the radio, touch screen and steering wheel controls will randomly stop working. i had an alert pop up saying the engine temp hot and service electronic throttle control. the car has been nothing but a headache. my basic warranty has expired. i don't know what to do.

After using cruise control the idiot tells me the elec. throttle needs servicing. in addition, the service airbag system light keeps coming on. i had the "service airbag system" warning checked at dealership (09/2018) however after 5 months it is back on.

While driving the vehicle stalls and shuts off, no lights on dash. 5 days later same stall issue now engine light and electrical light are coming on too.

Takata recall i have had my chrysler 2015 200 for 3 years and since i've had my car it has always had an issue with accelerating on its on. it accelerates when you tap the breaks and it will accelerate on its on taking it off cruise control as well. so last week my car was being driven on the highway and the car was put on cruise control going about 60-65 mph then once the brake was tapped to slow down the car began to lock up and accelerate up to 90 mph. then after the car picked up speed the whole car locked up steering wheel would not turn or anything and the car ended up hitting a wall. the state of what cause the issue is unknown, however i think this issue should be taken further for an investigation.

Note this did not all happen in the same day you are separate occurrences. first issue car shift itself in the park when i was at a red light on a city street would not shift back into. second airbag light keeps coming on telling me to service airbag system comes on and off. 3rd i lose all power to electrical components. i was driving at night on the highway i lost all power to my headlights interior lights radio everything electrical.

The car has shuts off while driving. i bought the car used last year in march 2018. it had issues w/jerking between gears and "hopping", but several months ago, just shut off while driving 75 mph on a highway (twice in 15 mins). dealership attempted to fix. but, its back to same problem. it shut off tuesday while out of town at a hotel while pulling out onto a 5 lane road. supposedly fixed, and then shut off on interstate 695 around baltimore last night while two lanes of traffic over. shutting off with -0- warning while traveling on busy interstates is extremely dangerous and possible life threatening. per research, this seems to be a major issue for this car, not sure why nhtsa has not recalled it yet.

The car dies in the middle of the road while driving. the engine stops, all the lights on the dash go out and there is no power steering or brakes. after about 5 minutes the car was able to start again.

Often while driving the car down a city street it will stall out in the middle of the street. thus resulting to trying several times to get it restarted. before it will actually restart when the ignition button is pressed it makes a winning noise. ignition button must be pushed again to stop the noise. then try restarting again.

I have had my the car completely cut of several times without warning. recently as i was backing out of the drive way the car turned off while in motion and all lights went out. after about 5 minutes the car was able to start and i moved it back into the driveway. it is like it lost all power because the clock was no longer set to the correct time. that was on monday 1/28/2019. today as approaching a stop sign the same thing happened again. without warning and no lights on the dash board. i have noticed that other cars within the same year have been recalled for similar issues but i have not received any notification. i would like my car looked at free of charge as this is a potentially dangerous situation. if i am in heavy traffic and the car just decides to turn off while in motion i can be seriously injured or killed. this is also not the first time i have filled this form out..

Vehicle is trying to stall out while driving and in sitting position.always happens right after i re-fuel. it starts jerking, sometimes it is a slight jerk but today it jerked very hard that it really scared me. also when starting the vehicle it struggles to start up. it will continue to not drive right for a little bit of time and then it goes back to driving fine until i re-fuel again. it started about a month ago and has never stopped since then. i have looked up recalls for this issue and it shows i don't have one. this really needs to be checked out and become a recall

Leaving for work this morning and vehicle chute off as making a right turn. upon arriving to work the engine shut in the middle of an intersection. sounded like a weak turn over but battery is fine and alternator is ok as well and this poses a safety issue this has happened before.

I purchaesd a 2015 chrysler 200 with low miles on it. i have had it for a couple months and it has started shutting off while i am driving (in motion). this is very concerning as i live in a state where we have snowy icy conditions. most importantly a baby. it has happened a couple of times but like i said i have only had it a couple months. a couple times too many.

Takata recall my car won't start unless i let it idle for a while and will fall dead several times when driving.

2 codes come up; right side door electrical wiring along with right side air bag unit problem. vehicle has staled several times.

12/20/18 car won't start, used 3 newly model vehicles to jump still nothing. basic mechanical work was preformed still nothing. car accelerates but no physical mobility, i can drive vehicle with all doors open this model doesn't allow that because of a safety sensor. car has over 13 codes you tube shows more.

South shore dealer in inwood ny performed a recall s55 but problem still exists car drops into neutral while driving, wanted a second opinion at garden city dealer they wouldnt even look at it to do a diagnosis to see if recall was actually done. all i want is the recall done and done properly

I started financing this vehical 3 mobths ago when i test drove it nothing was wrong. a week later after coming to sign the paper work and pick up the car i was informed tge keyfob no longer workered properly.then a week and a half ago it has a problem turning on on whenever it feels like then last night getting off work and picking up my wife and son anything that was electrical would icker to stay alive (head lights, stereo,heater,windows, ect.) but what scares me is the transmission in this vehical is fully electric so that presents immediate danger because of the fact the transmission can shut off in middrive. completly unsafe

A couple of weeks ago my temperature gauge was going up oddly fast and then i would get to alerts simultaneously 'engine temperature hot' and 'service elec. throttle control' i turn off the car for a few minutes and the gauge would go down. i'm not sure how concerned i should be or if this is a common error.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was able to restart, but the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. the vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic who stated that the vram system needed to be updated. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the contact called progressive chrysler jeep dodge ram at (330) 461-9514 (located at 7966 hills and dales rd ne, massillon, ohio 44646) and was informed that they were unaware of the failure. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 45,000. the vin was not provided.

Car will not start when pushing the button. replaced batteries key fob. still not c ok ming on with ignition push button. all lights, windows, dash lights are working so battery is not dead. have found hundreds of people online with some issue from this year make and model!!!

I have a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving my car will just stall in the middle of traffic and not move, air bag light continues to come on repeatedly. i've had this issue looked at twice by the dealership. they charge me and swear it's fixed. this is the third time this has occurred and i get no one with the dealership. the situation is horrifying and unsafe. i decide to place a review seeing i'm getting nowhere with my local dealership. i just need the issue resolved.

My airbag light stays on permanently. it used to come on intermittently. i have had the problem fixed twice by a chrysler repair facility. i was told not to worry it's just a wiring harness problem. i'm scared because i've seen airbag recalls and i don't know why my car hasn't been recalled yet. my car also seems to be jerking more frequently. it jerks sometimes when i'm accelerating. i was told this was normal because of the type of engine. i inquired about this not long after i bought the car in 2015. the jerking seems to be getting worse. my check engine light stays on. i can provide info that my airbag sensor problem was fixed twice.

Takata recall: where do i start. i have been having many issue with this car the latest issue which just happened my car wouldn't turn on and all the lights on the dash board would turn on the 'service transmission' 'serivce brakes' will turn and they would start flashing. when i would try to change gears my nobe would stay on park but the nobe would be turning! i would have to turn my car off and attempt to turn it back on then it would work. now my brake is hard and my nobe will not turn my car stayed on neutral and now won't even turn on. also before that the brakes system alert would go off from time to time. other times my car would turn off out of nowhere. overall my experience with this car has been bad.

My car is sometimes trying to stall out on the highway and rural roads, it looses a good bit of its power. it also makes jerking movements when my foot is steady holding the gas at an even level. kinda like it would if you were tapping the gas and letting off the gas very quickly.

My airbag light comes on and off, most of the time it stays on though. also, the car will die after driving and will stall while driving. it also appears that there are some sort of electrical issues with the car and the gears shift strange, sometimes throwing me forward while driving.

There's been an issue with my electrical systems for about the last two years. it's been giving a couple of signals of what's wrong with the vehicle but there hasn't been anything related to that issue( airbag service needed, steering sensor) and it has been draining my battery down and my battery is not even a year old. it had to be replaced last year because of that, luckily it was under warranty. but i've heard of these issues from the past that it's a possible recall.

Upon starting car' airbag light may or may not be on. light turns on and off without warning and has been ongoing. seems to be rough idle' when i place the car in gear it jerks. during normal driving the car stalls causing a safety concern for rear end impact while airbag light may be on that may cause injury or death. this matter should be investigated and corrective measures taken. after reading testimonials about other 2015 chrysler 200 owners' there obviously is a pattern with safety concerns.

My car is doing a lot of weird stuff that i'm getting tired of. it's been giving me issues starting and reving when my foot is off of the gas. the cars engine lights keeps coming on and going off and traction control came on and went of. this car is giving me issues and i'm tired of this lemon. regret so much buying this car and never will i ever again by another chrysler.

Twice in one week my car stalled and quite once while driving on a main road with mild/moderate traffic. the second time was while stationary in a parking lot attempting to put my car in reverse. the service engine light will pop on and off periodically and the service parking break light and the transmission light will come on. this has happened several times before during the first recall for the electrical system. the car will stall and i have to turn it off to put it in park. it doesn't happen every time i crank the car, but often enough for my concern.

When i try to start my car, which is a push to start, the dash read key fob not detected. the lights on the dash board, external and internal lights come on. i replaced the key fob battery, the car battery, and my o2 sensor and i still have this problem. my car hasn't started in 3 days

The car will not shut off, it say it is not in park

I replaced the transmission axle harness back iin 2016 when i got the car. but not all of a sudden the abs sensor keeps going out and it comes on and off after replacing it. i replaced it the car was fine then boom its back on. the car speeds up when i just be going 10 miles an hour and i have to slam on my brakes to keep it from going out of control. i almost had two accidents with this issue. and the dealership keeps telling me that recall was fixed but i dont believe it was. my car keeps trying to speed up with me just even pulling off from a parking spot. its a chrysler 200 s 2015 . i think this car is horrible and i am stuck with this lemon

Takata recall, while in motion the car battery voltage goes up and down, it jumps from 14.2 to 14.0 to 13.9 back to 14.0 than to 11.9, 10.9 that back up to 14.0 had battery checked by advanced auto, advised battery voltage is good. dashboard goes in an out while in motion without warning, i purchased the car used a year ago and now experiencing problem and fearful to drive, called a dealership service unable to get an appointment, they are book for the next 3 weeks, called every dealership within a 20 miles ratio all are book, need to know why this vehicle is not included in the electrical recall.

When i turn my car off at night, my dash backlighting remains on 4 hours if not indefinitely. also, the car will occasionally go from a normal reading to overheating on the instrument panel and it will remain overheating only on the panel for a few minutes before going back to normal again. the car has no other indications that it is overheating. there is no smell of antifreeze. the heat continues to work normally. there is no visible steam or other indication that the car actually does overheat. it appears to be a electrical anomaly. lastly, the top half of my rear window defrost is no longer working. my car has 48000 miles on it and has been garage its whole life.

Air bag light fails to turn off even after its been serviced . middle console and screen constantly getting stuck/ frozen while driving.. also it accelerates by itself sometimes!

Occupant classification module in the passenger seat fails unexpectedly causing airbag light on and shut down of the entire vehicle airbag system. similar to the s09/nhtsa 16v-114, but vehicle was not part of that recall campaign.

While driving at about 25 mph, my car lost power with no warning. all of a sudden, i saw the error message "shift to park to start". when attempting to restart, it hesitated in doing so.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off without warning. the vehicle was taken to larry h. miller chrysler (10101 papago freeway, avondale, az) where it was diagnosed that the power distribution center electrical connector was faulty and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v470000 (electrical system). the contact indicated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. the failure mileage was 43,000.

The air compressor and seat belt harness has gone bad and the vehicle is less than 5 years old. the a/c died in 2018; i decided to wait until 2019 to replace what i thought was the freon.
