Problems with 2015 Chrysler 200 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The car stalls and shuts down with no warning at all. has been in the shop for the last 3 weeks. it was bought used from drivetime in duluth georgia. i was told by national tire and battery that they were not going to touch when i took it there for repair, they recommend that i take it to a chrysler dealer, at that time it would randomly stall but would start back up so i went to work the next day and they car stalled again and got really sluggish i was able to make over to chrysler dealership in buford georgia. they said it needed a tire sensor after they put the tire sensor on it stalled out on them again so they then said it needed a abs modular once they installed the abs modular took it for a test drive and it stalled on them again then they said they found some loose wires near the transmission the fixed and the car was running. i had the car for 2 days and it stalled out again. drivetime then sent a tow truck over to take the car back to chrysler in buford now they are saying the car needs a wiring harness at this point to me the car is unsafe and not reliable at all. i pick my grandkids up daily and i can not afford to have them in the back seat and the cars stalls and we get hit. obviously they don't know what wrong and they are speculating. i have only had this car 4 month on february 12th 2020 and it's been in the shop for the last 3 weeks and chrysler can't even repair a chrysler... this is a huge problem. drivetime is paying for everything so far except our funerals god forbid something awful should happen. this all happened on highway 78 in snellville georgia and they car was in motion when it stalled out. this is unsafe, we could have been rammed the car just shuts down in the middle of accelerating, slowing down for a turn, going downhill, in the intersection it has shut down but that time it started right back up

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. the contact stated that while the air condition or heater was in operation, the vehicle vibrated abnormally. additionally, on several occasions the rear back up camera activated while the vehicle was in a forward gear. the contact also stated that the radio was inoperable and also that the fan remained in operation constantly. the contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated and remained illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the peterson chrysler/jeep/ram, 4395 fayetteville rd, lumberton, nc 28358, where battery was replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

The other day i just driving down a hill and my car just shut off, which was very scary , i push the start button a few times and it starts and drives fine, til today i'm taking my kids to school and it shuts down in the middle of traffic, and i had til sit for a couple cause it wouldn't start, finally after pushing the start button it started and then a few hours later i stop at the store and the car shuts down once again as i'm parking my car. this is a server hazardous driving this car

Engine tends to stall out when making sharp right turns. has happened 2 times now, luckily i was near a vacant parking lot to stop the vehicle and restart. once stopped and in park, engine hesitates to start then drives as if nothing has happened. no engine codes, warning lights, or auras to give sight to a potential problem.

Within 10 minutes of leaving my house the dash lights started flashing saying "engine temp high" and then "service electronic throttle control" but the bars that light up to show the engine temp were gone. before the warnings came on the car showed 2 bars in the temp panel (fully heated up is normally 4 bars). i pulled over and shut the car off for 15 minutes and nothing came on when i started it. the engine light came on a few days ago and when it was read on the computer it said something about the temperature. i've checked online forums and found at least 30 other cars, same year make and model, having the same problem.

My car recently just started to just turn off while i was driving. i just bought a new battery at autozone with a 2 year warranty and i'm sure the battery isn't the issue. in 2016 i had to have the engine replaced at my own cost because they said there was an issue with the engine. i was so angry because i had just leased the car. i don't know why my car just turns off. i do the oil changes every 4 montha

My 2015 chrysler 200 is saying it can't detect the fob. the fob is in the car with me. now i have to start my car by putting the fob at the vent near the steer column. the brakes was hard and would not release when i push start to start the car.

The light to get airbag serviced keeps coming on and going off. it has started stalling randomly while driving or coming to a stop. noticed that it didn't do it as bad once car was warmed up, but then it dropped power while we were in traffic on a bridge overpass and we had to limp it home. looked up the warning light meanings and it said we should not drive it as it will either lose power without warning and have to be limped or it will accelerate and we would have no way to stop it. so i have a car that cannot be driven and i had seen that there were recalls for similar problems however, when i put my vin number in, it said there were no unrepaired recalls for this vin number.*dt consumer's husband and son-in-law repaired the vehicle.*jb

I got my car back in may of 2018 and a couple months after getting it i ended up needing to get a new battery i understand that batteries are normal wear and tear for any vehicle but i just recently had to get another new battery on jan 2, 2020 i was told that most 'new' batteries last about 3-5 years so i find it pretty odd that i've only had my car for a year and it has had two brand new batteries.

As i entered onto the freeway, my car turned off. lights began to blink repeatedly. i lost total control of steering. i could not pull over or stop immediately. all this while still in drive. i was able to put the car in park. i attempted to atart the engine, it took several seconds but started. i was terrified.

The car be stalling and if i don't let it warm up and i take off it will cut off and i will have to get a jump because it kills battery. the car now needs a jump every time you cut it off and all of a sudden now the car want go in no gear. the dashboard has service transmission and brake system.

When stopped or slowing down from barnes road that crosses powers one of the busy roads in colorado springs, the car shoots forward real fast almost shooting me into on coming traffic. this has happened several times now, but my foot is on the break.. then when you let your foot off the break it wont move like it has slipped out of gear, i push the gas pedal a couple of times and then it goes into gear. at times when you put it in reverse all of a sudden the e break engages and it jolts you to a dead stop,i have to push the button a couple of times for it to release. i'm starting to wish i never bought this car,

I've only had my car for less than 2 months now and the car is not switching gears properly, the car also will not start sometimes the message displays that it is not in park and will not start for a while. on 11/22/2019 the car would not start and it also would not turn off, it was stuck in acc and on mode, it took about 3 hours to get the car to completely shut down. also, while i'm driving when it actually moves it acts like it wants to cut off while driving on the streets.

Service air bag system notice comes on, as well with the vehicle driving groggy. does not have proper throttle response, engine shudders and vibrates as well with stalling at a red light. all happens while driving and sitting stationary.

The headlights will cut out as im driving.. sometimes one side first then both.. or both st the same time.. as im driving the air bag light comes on and off on its own my tpms light will come on and some days it won't show the psi in the tire on the dash

All kinds of things chrysler 200 . my car has 31000 miles and there's alot of things wrong with it . if it doesn't heat up for 15 to 20 min the car will sputter and due every time i slow down , sometimes it goes into limp mode . also sometimes it does shift right and the oil pressure light comes on and off when i slow down to go around corners and it gets to sputter and due out . i've had a couple occasions that i have been driving 35 to 40 mph and the car just dies on the road while driving.

Changed battery in car it wouldn't go in but one gear n that was neutral had to take it to the shop n that doesn't make any since just changed the battery

****note - need more information. contacted consumer 12/12/19**** tl the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. the contact stated that all the warning indicators were illuminated when the vehicle was in use. in addition, the gear became stuck in neutral and required the contact to manually release the gear out of neutral. afterwards, the vehicle would only travel in reverse. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that an electrical failure occurred and suggested the vehicle be taken to a dealer. dodge country (1902 e central texas expy, killeen, tx 76541, (254) 200-3900) was contacted and a diagnostic appointment was scheduled. the vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train). the failure mileage was approximately 87,000. the vin was unknown.

The car starts fine, but will die when idling or at a decline in speed. will shut off have you place the car back in park to try and restart. sometime it will start after 5 seconds after shut off and others will take a few minutes. its a hard restart when it does start, and drives rough for the first 5 miles or so, and returns to driving fine. my car has done this mulitple times at red lights and while turning onto a exit ramp durning the deceleration onto a highway.

My 2015 chrysler 200 will just die while being driven. i started the car drove less than a mile when it turned off and coasted to a stop. i tried to restart the car but it just kept making noises, as i kept trying to get it to start it caused the battery to drain so low i had to call aaa . this seems to be a big problem as there are a ton of other people that have had this same issue!

The service transmission and the service parking break both went off after no use for about 7 hours then went to drive and popped up for no apparent reason.

When the vehicle is in neutral is sputters and the electrical flickers. i replaced the battery and it is still doing it. the rpms randomly fluctuate and it's not consistent. i feel like the vehicle is just going to stall out as i'm driving down the freeway. also the ignition button i have to hold on and cannot just push the start button. it's just not running properly.

The car stalled out and completely shut off as i was driving 30 mph. it was extremely dangerous and could've caused a accident. it wouldn't turn back on for about a minute. this has happened twice in the past week. i looked up other people who have had same issue and it shows there was a recall for the vehicle. a lot of others had the same issue. the recall number was s09. i need to know what i should do with my vehicle as soon as possible. it's too dangerous to drive. this happened with my kids in the car.

While driving my vehicle stalls out and gives me a message on the cluster to, "shift to park to start". when i stop the vehicle and shift to park i press the button to start and it hesitates and sometimes have to press 3 or 4 times before it starts. then i press on the gas while in park and it is a very slow climb in the rpms. after a few attempts at pressing the gas it seems to be ok. i then shift into drive and it moves a few feet and does the same stalling out and error message on the cluster. this has happened several times while on the highway, city streets and sometimes turning. i am scared to drive this vehicle and seeing that there are recalls but none for my vin # and alot of the descriptions are similar to what i am experiencing.

Check engine light came on. had vehicle check and got a code. u1504 implausible message data length received from steering angle sensor. airbag clockspring needs to be replace because airbad may not doploy during an accident. was told to contact the dealership to see if there was a recall. there is not at this time. this is a defective part of the saftey system on the car and they do not want to cover it.

Driving 55 mph engine stalls ,battery light came on,transmission shifting info center coming on,stall and setting still

After reaching 75,000 miles, my car started to stall and turn off by itself while driving. i performed an oil change, made sure all the maintenance was up to date, etc. it has a new battery less than a year old, new tires, etc. eventually it stalled and shut off on its own while stopped and would not turn back on. every time i try to turn it back on, it stalls and shuts off but the shifter lights blink repeatedly. i have a code that appeared on a mechanic's code reader which was u1504. he could not diagnose it. chrysler would not look at it and wanted $125 just to do diagnostics. i just wanted to know if this was one of the recalled issues as i know they have been having engine and transmission issues.

Once i tried starting my car i got no key fob detected. when i placed my key fob next to the start button everything would power up but wouldn't crank. the air would turn on the nuetral would flash on the gears shaft but still wouldn't crank. it then wouldn't turn off from run. the car eventually wouldn't show any power so i had it towed to the dealership. they said it was the battery which they replace a year prior so it wouldn't be no cost. pulis they did an oil change. i called and they said my car was ready. when i picked up my car i noticed the air wasn't turning on and the check engine light on. i went back and spoke with a sales person whom said to bring it back the next day cause the mechanics was gone. i brung it back know they saying the body and transmission needs to be reprogrammed and want to charge me a fee of $700. i'm trying to figure how it went from just a dead battery to know my air don't work and the car needing to be reprogrammed. this is total unfair to me and i've seen several others going through the same problems. if my battery wouldn't have died after only a year i wouldn't need my car reprogrammed and have to spend almost $700. last year i had an issue with the car cutting off while driving that i had to have fixed now this

Takata recall. to begin, my car wouldn't accelerate, i'd be driving and it would hesitate then take off reallty hard as to even jerk. did this a couple of times before i took it in to the dealership, one place told me it was nothing wrong, took it to another dealership because it kept stalling as i was on the highway and they said it was an electrical issue. then another issue occurred with the dash illuminating telling me my airbags alert displaying on my dash (2x)took it back to dealership, though they kept it for a week, they said it was because someone kicked the wiring loose under my passenger seat. no one has ever sat in my back seat. now my car is in the shop because at first the malfunction light illuminated, drove my car to work, returned to my car and it wouldn't start, had roadside jumpstart it, and it started, went back out later and it wouldn't start, as i tried to get out, my dash lit up and i had to push the button for it to turn off, as i'm walking away, my car literally tries to accelerate on its own, as if i hit my remote start. had it taken into the dealership. they diagnosed my car as having a faulty climate control module ( first off, i drive 17 miles to and from work everyday, my climate control has been beyond functional, i literally have to turn it off because it gets so cold in my car) and they also said my car stalled because of a bad battery, and said the burning i smelled on the passenger door was a faulty wire and thats why its not functioning properly, which they're repairing, but charging me for it. i have had so many issues with this car since i purchased it. when i'm driving and turn the wheel to the left, it sounds like something is going to break, also my breaks will lock up on me if it's raining and i'll slide ( really)?? this car has been nothing less then a lemon.

I've had multiple issues. first, my car stalled as i was driving down main streets, the first time i took it to the dealership, they said they couldn't find a problem with it. second dealership i took it to said it was an electrical issue my car was having, kept it for a week, repaired the issue.second time i took it in was because my airbag alert illuminated on the dash, again, they said it was a wiring issue, someone had kicked the wiring loose under the passenger seat.then i had it towed in because it completely stopped on me while i was driving it .now it's in the shop because the malfunction came on, i still attempted to drive it to work,but when i went back out for lunch, it wouldn't start. roadside jumpstarted it, and it started. went back out when i got off work and it wouldn't start... however, while i was getting out, the dash lit up as and kept beeping as if the car was running, so i actually had to push the start button to turn it off , weird, right! but then as i'm walking away from the car, it's trying to accelerate on its own, as if i was trying to remote start it. had it towed to dealership. they're diagnostic explanation for my car - my climate control module doesn't work, and i need a new battery, and yes my door panel had some faulty wires and they're waiting for the parts to repair this, but it's something i have to pay for. when i turn my car to the left, it sounds like something is going to break. my tires slide when it's raining, even though i purchased new ones. also, my climate control has been beyond functioning. i drive 17 miles to and from work, and i have to turn it down because it's freezing sometimes. it's sad to know i purchased a lemon and that they cannot be honest about their recalls and making sure my safety comes before their negligence., and stop trying to coverup their screwups in manufacturing a total lemon.

Vehicle will not start up, all lights will come on dash but will not turn on or crank. vehicle displayed "service shifter" as well as "service transmission" signs and then would not accelerate over 34 mph. check engine lights comes on but then turns off by itself. i just purchased the car and haven't had it for 15 days.

Push button start requires foot on brake, car in park and press of button/ignition. when doing so, the engine will not start. lights, radio, open door warning bells ding, but car will not start. fuses and battery have been checked and are good. car must be boosted off to start. chrysler will not fix this on their dime even though there are recalls for this on other vehicles of the same make and model as mine. service and recall team was very rude and refused to offer any help.

My car has shut off while driving i was pulling off of a stop sign this is a huge saftey hazard

Changed the battery out and my entire climate control shut down. fan or defrost won't work, heat or air. dealership said the climate panel needs to be replaced because the computer is fried.

As i am driving this car was shut off and then i will have to put the car in park restart the car sometimes it will stall before we starting but other times it will restart and then i continue on and this may happen three to four times especially in the morning this is very dangerous for the car to stop while i'm driving without warning it's a hazard and can lead to a bad accident.

The car was parked in a parking lot and went to start the car and it wouldn't start. it made some unusual noises and all kinds of lights flashing. the instrument panel was flickering off and on. many warnings popped up. the brake pedal was very hard to push, there was a lot of resistance. even said car fob not detected and both fobs were in the car and have new batteries. when we got out and locked the car and tried to get back in the car, we couldn't get it to unlock. then tried to unlock it a couple of hours later and was able to get it to unlock but car still wouldn't start.

Takata recall you had published on july 28, 2015 of an intermittent connection c4 connector & pdc recall for chrysler cars. the purpose of this recall was due to intermittent loss of power to electrical components causing vehicle to stall without warning. we have a 2015 chrysler 200 and it has the same issue that was outlined in the recall. i called the hotline and spoke to a lady that stated that not all cars that are affected by the recall; are recalled. our vehicle has within the past 3-4 weeks stalled on the highway 2-3 times and even pulling into our own driveway. please look into this and issue a recall so we will not be part of a vehicle accident.

It all started when i put in on drive and it told me to put it on park and i did and it started to fail it?s keeps turning off and on running and all the lights turn off it was late at night when it shut off and my wife had my car with my kids on the freeway it could of been worse

My 2015 chrysler 200 limited would not start and the brake was extremely tight. i was glad i was parked in my garage and not driving only to have it stall. the lights and radio came on at first. i thought maybe my key fob battery was low so i used another key fob with a fresh battery. well it still didn't start. so went to work. luckily i have an old car i could use. when i came home to see if the car would start it was completely dead. no lights, no dashboard lights, trunk won't open, doors won't lock and unlock. just completely dead. i have had the car for four years now and it has given me a couple of problems but this is the worst. i wish i had never bought this vehicle. it is a total waste of money. now i will have to take it to the dealer again!

When hitting the breaks sometimes the vehicle stalls out in the middle of traffic having to put in park position and try to restart the car. sometimes take a minute to even restart and it doesn't always let me shift it into drive right away. this in result could cause someone to rear end me. i am noticing there is a recall called r24 which seams to be what is happening to my vehicle.

Won't start

Transmission issues for almost a year. i have explained them to the dealership who refuses to document. i purchased this car new the summer of 2015. it had sealants misssing from the manufacture and so it had a leak that resulted in the dealership having my car for 2 months and me having to force them to replace my carpeting they let sit in the sun for 2 weeks and mold and to replace parts in my car that they broke the clips on trying to find the leak. several times they called me to come and get my car with mold in it and parts still hanging. i had to get managers involved. i came to get an oil change once and they sent me out onto the street without tightening the lugs and i was wobbling down the street and they lied and said the pressure was off balance. once my car shut off with no oil it. they said it's likely the engine. my tire pressure has been saying its low since about a week after purchasing the car. soon as i put air in, less than 24 hours its low. the windshield wipers have always sounded extremely loud. i had a thermometer go out before 3 yrs old. i barely have 30,000 miles on my car right now. now my car wouldn't stay on when i tried to take it out of park in my driveway thurs. it stalled for a second to start up then it wouldn't come back on. i tried several times until it cranked up like normal, but then it refused to switch gears saying check transmission and park sense and to put back in park then shift gears. after that i had to have my battery charged to crank. the next day i had to get a boost. my battery and alternator tested good, but the check engine light is now on mentioning a throttle sensor and watchdog performance. dealership claims my battery is bad. i again told them my transmission wasn't sensing correcrtly and switching gears cuts my car off sometimes. the technician says i need to pay $428 to have them replace my "bad" battery first.

The car gets stuck in park. the emergency parking brake comes on at random. the service transmission indicator comes on's daily. and the car stop accelerating constantly.

Air bag sensor, cooling thermostat and hosing. shocks headlight issues electrical. i have put two thermostat and changed hosing twice. there are sever recalls listed on the same make year and model and under my vin there's no recalls yet i'm experiencing the same issues that were recalled on the same year make and model. this does not make since why isn't my car covered for the recalls. i took my car to chrysler dealer and called cooperate and they said my car isn't covered but there's recalls with the same issues for the same year make and model.

Lots of electrical issues. certain days will not 'detect' key fob. car will stall and turn off while driving. stalled on me while on entrance ramp to highway. lots of electrical issues and throttle system. will completely shut my car off and ask for 'anti theft pin'. (i bought used from dealership but never given a pin). i will have to turn the car off, get out of the vehicle, lock it, unlock it and restart to get the anti theft code

Car intermittently shuts off without warning. loses all electrical and engine power, then after a few minutes will regain power. normally occurs while idling at a stop light. i believe it is the same issue it was recalled for in 2015, faulty pdc (power distribution center) connector. nhsta campaign number: 15v470000.

While in motion, the chrysler 200 will shut off completely causing near death accidents. electronic system will cause lights to flicker and causing the transmission not to engage. the vehicle occasionally will not exceed 20 mph. i no longer feel safe in the vehicle and should be addressed
