On average, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 43 955 miles.

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The transmission began shifting oddly and more sudden than normal and was not getting enough power unless the accelerator was pressed really hard. while my car was under warranty (<60,000 miles), the dealership, lafferty chevy, indicated the shifting was a result of an adaptive transmission that learns my driving habits and it was normal. now, the problem is worse 6 months later, and the car is out of power-train warranty (65k miles), and they inspected it further and have told me the transmission needs to be fully replaced. the transmission and power train made it very safe to drive these past few months and gm knows this is an issue and the dealer said nothing about this until the problem got much worse and is now out of warranty.

My transmission went out. i was driving down the highway and i could feel it slipping. i managed do make it to my street and it locked up and skidded to a halt as if was thrown into park even though it was in drive. revers would not engage nor would drive. the truck would roll in neutral. the truck is only a 2014 and has 130000 miles. most hwy miles. it is currently in shop javing transmission rebuilt. this event happened yesterday morning july 15th 2019.

While driving the truck started making a weird noise and then would almost feel like u ran over rumble strips. within a couple weeks the truck will now no longer switch gears. there are shavings in tranny fluid. almost had an accident because the truck just wouldn't shift or go while on the interstate. chevy has put faulty torque converters in these trucks and they need to be held responsible for fixing this problem. there are thousands of other people that have the same exact thing happen to them. failure was at only 120,000 miles and our truck is very well taken care of, maintenance done, and was never ever drove hard.

Takata recall the vehicle i had for about maybe 6 months while driving on a city street we all of the sudden heard a pop we thought it was a tire so we pulled to the side and seen that oil started leaking from the bottom and smoke came out from the hood and now it will not turn on we believe is the engine that broke by husband looked down and saw there was a piece broken of the motor as seen on the description of recall number 14v152000

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. the contact stated that the vehicle shook and the rpms increased while driving. the contact took the vehicle to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that the torque converter failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 112,000.

14192a transfer case shifts out of gear while driving, causing loss of power, that could result in a crash.

I started my truck and while in a parked position the dashboard displays a message regarding power-steering has been reduced, please drive with caution. i googled it and notice that my particular model has a known issue and re-called. i called chevrolet customer service and they said since my vin # has no open recalls, they couldn't assist and that i have the option to take it to a service shop and pay out of pocket to fix. it is frustrating that with all the information online i couldn't get any help on this matter.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while the contact's husband was driving at low speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate and stalled. also, the gear shifter failed to engage in any gear. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was pushed to a parking lot. the local dealer was not contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer stated that the warranty was expired and provided case number: 8-4792950260. the failure mileage was 102,000. *dt*jb

Vehicle looses power when turning, radio screen flashes on/off, stabilitrak error displays on screen, total loss of power to vehicle while on the road while driving while in motion. this specific vin# was involved in a recall for the exact issue last year and was repaired but is still functioning as per manufacturer agreement. this vehicle is unsafe to be on the road as is. took it back to autonation gulf fwy to get a diagnostic they claimed it was the neg batt terminal, i got that fixed still having the same issue. gm nor chevy want to help with this issue. i guess they are waiting for someone to die before they take this issue seriously . i don't see paying for all the repairs out of pocket if i just bought this vehicle aug 28, 2018 and was never informed that it had been involved in a recall.

While driving vehicle while turn itself off with no explanation. this has happened multiple times in the last few months. it has increased since i got the last recall done. this is extremely dangerous as it has shut off while i was turning across lanes and died in the middle of the intersection. the truck shuts completely off and has to be restated by turning the key.

Was pulling out of my driveway when the transmission slipped and car had to slam on its brakes so it wouldn't hit me. then it was sluggish and slipping on my 30 minute drive to work on interstate 81. on the way home it started to get worse and making an awful humming sound out of the transmission. i've researched this problem and everyone is having the same problem with gmc and chevy 1500 trucks from 2014 to 2017. i check the fluids every week and there are always good. it just seems there should be a recall if everyone is having the same problem. thank you.

There are 2 conscerns i have there is a vibration so bad it will spilll a coffee in the cup holders when i am on the highway at cruising speed and passing speed up to 80 mph and my second issue will happen during city driving where i will step on the gas and the truck lunges forward making me hit the brakes so i don't hit another car i have had my tires balanced and had the truck in the shop multiple times and got different tires to try and fix the vibration and nothing worked and i've thad the truck at the dealership for the transmission issue but they said 'it's normal'

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle made a growling noise. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the following day, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the transmission failed and needed replacement. the contact stated that this was the fifth transmission replacement for the vehicle. the first two repairs were completed at jim glover chevrolet (707 w 51st street, tulsa, ok 74107). the manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 328,665.

Incident occurred on may 27th, 2018. at 65 mph (interstate) going on a downhill grade of approximately 6%, towing an approximate 2500 lb trailer with wet roads to slow the truck down applied brakes lightly, the transmission upshifted (higher rpm), applied brakes again, upshifted again, did a third time, upshifted again (now at 4000 rpm). had to tap the gas to get the truck to downshift. transmission was set in drive, not manual mode. this is a repeatable condition; it does not matter if trailer mode on the transmission is selected or not. less downgrades (approximately 3% or less) do not seem to cause the issue. transmission programming seems to have an error. this is highly undesirable and could lead easily to an accident.

2014 chevrolet silverado ltz crew cab transmission fluid was serviced in 2015 at 48,900 miles. still experienced hard down shift and told by the dealer this is because its a truck. at 100,763 miles the transmission begins cavitating, loss of power while traveling and with loud intermitting sounds of metal on metal. got the truck in for local transmission service and the service manager said the transmission fluid was burnt and littered with heavy metal fragments from the transmission gears. other local (friends) of 2014 truck owners have reported this condition which all resulted in a transmission rebuild which is $4,000 for this vehicle. the strange problem is they are failing at 100k miles and the dealer has been sent service advisories to not warranty any powertrains after 100k miles even if the date is still effective. this truck was in motion when the cavitation began and shortly after (100 miles or so) began metal on metal sounds and loud clacking form the transmission area under the truck. if you need any further information to look into this don't hesitate to contact me at your convenience. just a quick background, i am ...
