The transmission began shifting oddly and more sudden than normal and was not getting enough power unless the accelerator was pressed really hard. while my car was under warranty (<60,000 miles), the dealership, lafferty chevy, indicated the shifting was a result of an adaptive transmission that learns my driving habits and it was normal. now, the problem is worse 6 months later, and the car is out of power-train warranty (65k miles), and they inspected it further and have told me the transmission needs to be fully replaced. the transmission and power train made it very safe to drive these past few months and gm knows this is an issue and the dealer said nothing about this until the problem got much worse and is now out of warranty.
My transmission went out. i was driving down the highway and i could feel it slipping. i managed do make it to my street and it locked up and skidded to a halt as if was thrown into park even though it was in drive. revers would not engage nor would drive. the truck would roll in neutral. the truck is only a 2014 and has 130000 miles. most hwy miles. it is currently in shop javing transmission rebuilt. this event happened yesterday morning july 15th 2019.
While driving the truck started making a weird noise and then would almost feel like u ran over rumble strips. within a couple weeks the truck will now no longer switch gears. there are shavings in tranny fluid. almost had an accident because the truck just wouldn't shift or go while on the interstate. chevy has put faulty torque converters in these trucks and they need to be held responsible for fixing this problem. there are thousands of other people that have the same exact thing happen to them. failure was at only 120,000 miles and our truck is very well taken care of, maintenance done, and was never ever drove hard.
Takata recall the vehicle i had for about maybe 6 months while driving on a city street we all of the sudden heard a pop we thought it was a tire so we pulled to the side and seen that oil started leaking from the bottom and smoke came out from the hood and now it will not turn on we believe is the engine that broke by husband looked down and saw there was a piece broken of the motor as seen on the description of recall number 14v152000
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. the contact stated that the vehicle shook and the rpms increased while driving. the contact took the vehicle to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that the torque converter failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 112,000.
14192a transfer case shifts out of gear while driving, causing loss of power, that could result in a crash.
I started my truck and while in a parked position the dashboard displays a message regarding power-steering has been reduced, please drive with caution. i googled it and notice that my particular model has a known issue and re-called. i called chevrolet customer service and they said since my vin # has no open recalls, they couldn't assist and that i have the option to take it to a service shop and pay out of pocket to fix. it is frustrating that with all the information online i couldn't get any help on this matter.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while the contact's husband was driving at low speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate and stalled. also, the gear shifter failed to engage in any gear. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was pushed to a parking lot. the local dealer was not contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer stated that the warranty was expired and provided case number: 8-4792950260. the failure mileage was 102,000. *dt*jb
Vehicle looses power when turning, radio screen flashes on/off, stabilitrak error displays on screen, total loss of power to vehicle while on the road while driving while in motion. this specific vin# was involved in a recall for the exact issue last year and was repaired but is still functioning as per manufacturer agreement. this vehicle is unsafe to be on the road as is. took it back to autonation gulf fwy to get a diagnostic they claimed it was the neg batt terminal, i got that fixed still having the same issue. gm nor chevy want to help with this issue. i guess they are waiting for someone to die before they take this issue seriously . i don't see paying for all the repairs out of pocket if i just bought this vehicle aug 28, 2018 and was never informed that it had been involved in a recall.
While driving vehicle while turn itself off with no explanation. this has happened multiple times in the last few months. it has increased since i got the last recall done. this is extremely dangerous as it has shut off while i was turning across lanes and died in the middle of the intersection. the truck shuts completely off and has to be restated by turning the key.
Was pulling out of my driveway when the transmission slipped and car had to slam on its brakes so it wouldn't hit me. then it was sluggish and slipping on my 30 minute drive to work on interstate 81. on the way home it started to get worse and making an awful humming sound out of the transmission. i've researched this problem and everyone is having the same problem with gmc and chevy 1500 trucks from 2014 to 2017. i check the fluids every week and there are always good. it just seems there should be a recall if everyone is having the same problem. thank you.
There are 2 conscerns i have there is a vibration so bad it will spilll a coffee in the cup holders when i am on the highway at cruising speed and passing speed up to 80 mph and my second issue will happen during city driving where i will step on the gas and the truck lunges forward making me hit the brakes so i don't hit another car i have had my tires balanced and had the truck in the shop multiple times and got different tires to try and fix the vibration and nothing worked and i've thad the truck at the dealership for the transmission issue but they said 'it's normal'
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle made a growling noise. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the following day, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the transmission failed and needed replacement. the contact stated that this was the fifth transmission replacement for the vehicle. the first two repairs were completed at jim glover chevrolet (707 w 51st street, tulsa, ok 74107). the manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 328,665.
Incident occurred on may 27th, 2018. at 65 mph (interstate) going on a downhill grade of approximately 6%, towing an approximate 2500 lb trailer with wet roads to slow the truck down applied brakes lightly, the transmission upshifted (higher rpm), applied brakes again, upshifted again, did a third time, upshifted again (now at 4000 rpm). had to tap the gas to get the truck to downshift. transmission was set in drive, not manual mode. this is a repeatable condition; it does not matter if trailer mode on the transmission is selected or not. less downgrades (approximately 3% or less) do not seem to cause the issue. transmission programming seems to have an error. this is highly undesirable and could lead easily to an accident.
2014 chevrolet silverado ltz crew cab transmission fluid was serviced in 2015 at 48,900 miles. still experienced hard down shift and told by the dealer this is because its a truck. at 100,763 miles the transmission begins cavitating, loss of power while traveling and with loud intermitting sounds of metal on metal. got the truck in for local transmission service and the service manager said the transmission fluid was burnt and littered with heavy metal fragments from the transmission gears. other local (friends) of 2014 truck owners have reported this condition which all resulted in a transmission rebuild which is $4,000 for this vehicle. the strange problem is they are failing at 100k miles and the dealer has been sent service advisories to not warranty any powertrains after 100k miles even if the date is still effective. this truck was in motion when the cavitation began and shortly after (100 miles or so) began metal on metal sounds and loud clacking form the transmission area under the truck. if you need any further information to look into this don't hesitate to contact me at your convenience. just a quick background, i am a long time chevrolet owner and have a 1998 k 1500 and have replaced the engine and replaced two transmissions so i know it doesn't last forever but i would hope chevrolet wants to know this is happening in their premium line up of trucks. i would only hope the power train would last longer than 100k miles. thank you for your time!
My 2014 chevrolet silverado has the chevy shakes at highway speeds. the truck begins vibrating at 70-80 miles per hour. begins to reduce the shaking between 80-83 and then shakes even worse at 85+mph. the shaking is so bad it causes water to shake out of a cup in the cup holder. not only does the steering wheel vibrate, but the entire center console, and the front seats. the vibration didn't begin until i hit 60,000 miles and seems to worsen with the higher mileage. i now fear for my safety, because i skidded the in the rain due the vibration at highway speeds. i only have videos showing the vibration. total bummer. i had my tires checked and balanced (which have been on the truck for 1 year +, prior to the vibration starting) my truck has lifetime alignment on it, and this is not the issue either.
In less than a year that i have owned it the welds on the radiator cracked open the welds cracked open on the ac condenser the transmission had to be rebuilt from something exploding inside and sharding metal everywhere and i have also had my vacuum pump go out which has shot metal into my engine and almost caused a crash when it first started going out i didn't realize what it was and almost crashed a few times on the way home .
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving and making a right turn, the vehicle stalled and restarted immediately. also, while driving 10 mph, the vehicle turned off and did not restart for at least thirty minutes. ryan chevrolet (1101 oliver rd, monroe, la 71201) was contacted and stated that the contact could bring in the vehicle to be diagnosed for a fee. the manufacturer was also contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 30,000.*bf . consumer stated vehicle has issue with engine. vehicle has shut down several times while in heavy traffic and took twenty to thirty minutes for the engine to start back up.*jb
Vehicle vibration at 45 to 65 mpg
Truck shakes/vibrates at highway speeds above 65 mph very badly slight vibration at lower speeds also know as the chevy shake
I bought my 2014 silverado new . after 10,000 miles i could hear something in the drivetrain between 2nd and 3 rd gear make a moaning sound . brought it to the dealership and couldn't find anything . this went on until 141,000 miles and the transmission came out . had it rebuilt for $ 3,700.00 and was told the torque converter caused the problem . now i'm at 181,000 and we are hoping it's the tcm inside the transmission but if not who knows what this will cost . i think gm should be responsible for defective torque converters as i have read more customers have had the same problem . it would be nice to see some kind of reimbursement . i love my truck and have owned nothing but gm vehicles but this should not happen twice .
Truck seems to have an issue when shifting gears. the truck jerks hard when it shifts ramdonly at lower speeds (5 to 25 mph) and can sometimes startled you because it makes you think that you been rear ended by another vehicle. when coming to s stop the truck has a hard time deciding which gear to be on and after you are at a complete stop just about 3 seconds later you feel a strong hit coming from the back of the truck moving the truck forward about a foot if your not pressing on the break really hard, this also happens but with more intensity after the truck has been moved in reverse and it put in drive it takes a few seconds to engage and you feel a strong jerk forward without giving it gas. last but not least the truck shakes more than normal while in idle almost to the point where it feels like its going to shut off.
Purchased a new 2014 off the lot with 7 miles and we have had nothing but trouble with this truck. from air bag sensors going out and the dealer refusing to cover this to the seat being replaced. the rear went out and had to be replaced. the ac has been replaced twice. both times called chevy asking for help and was denied assistance. seatbelt issues. computer screen issues. tire senor issues rattling in the dashboard. i will never own another chevrolet product again. this is the primary vehicle my husband drives to work and back home. this truck is only 3 years old and we have actually think we have a defective product and chevy doesn't seem to wanna help us. i hate to write the monthly note out each month paying for something that's always breaking down. i will never own another chevrolet product.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. the contact stated that the vehicle seized in 4-wheel high. on several occasions, the service 4x4 or service stabilitrac warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to bidelman chevrolet buick gmc (located at 4048 oak orchard rd, albion, ny 14411, (585) 331-8162) where it was diagnosed that the tcm module needed to have a software update performed. the contact was informed not to shut off the vehicle in the 4-wheel drive position. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving over 50 mph, the vehicle shook and vibrated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission torque converter was faulty. the transmission was rebuilt, but the failure recurred 99,000 miles later. the vehicle was taken to h&n chevrolet (713 grand ave, spencer, ia) where it was diagnosed that the torque converter failed again. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified and did not assist. the failure mileage was 145,000. *bf *tr
After a state inspection of my 2014 chevy silverado, i was told that the transmission cooling lines were leaking and needed to be replaced. the transmission lines had failed where the two pieces are crimped together causing the leak.
At 113,000 mostly highway miles, truck started shimmering when a load was placed on it, like going up hills. was told at chevy dealer it was transmission. my warranty was up till 100k which was 2.5 months before this problem. i flushed transmission every 30k (way early) and local dealer said transmission should never have gone like that. gm is not wanting to help at all on a 48k cost truck and i had to pay 5150.00 to replace transmission. plus out of town "being stuck" costs too.
1. driver's seat reclining mechanism jammed and stopped working. had to have seat back frame assembly replaced just after warranty. 2. six speed transmission generally works good most of the time. on occasions (about 50 so far) when backing out of a space and shifting gear from reverse to drive, the transmission does not shift, there is a 2-3 second delay before it shifts and jumps into gear with a clunk. this causes problems when you are backing out into traffic in parking lot, onto a street, or making a 3-point turn and the transmission does not shift when you anticipate it should and you are stuck there for the delay. this could cause a crash. took to dealer under warranty, they could not reproduce problem. date at bottom is a guess. have to check dealer records at home.
Very noticeable vibration at 25 mph and again at 45 mph. only seems to affect vehicle in 4 cylinder mode. lots of internet research has found this to be a recurring problem with many chevy silverado 1500's as it is in mine. i have contacted gm with a complaint and they have given me case # 8-2286316021. there seems to be no fix established as of yet. but, my concern is when driving on snow, ice or wet roads, the vibration could cause a serious issue with traction. if it vibrates while on slippery road conditions then the traction is reduced causing a safety concern.
Truck shifts bad, almost like the gears are slipping usually seems to happen around 3rd-4th gear. the truck also vibrates at 35 mph up to highway speeds. this all happens when driving.
Vibration issues at different speeds between 70 to 80 mph on the highway. i had my wheels and tires rebalanced many times. still have issues on been checked.
Vehicle exhibits vibration at speeds of 75 mph +. vibration is coming from rear of vehicle, such as rear axle. vehicle started vibrating at approx 30k miles. vehicle is currently at 44k. no vibration in the steering wheel. vehicle is smooth below the threshold speed noted above.
The right rear axle seal was replaced by the dealer due to leaking at 16k miles. vehicle now has 44k miles and the leak is back. this leak allows rear axle oil to potentially contaminate the brake pads on that wheel if left unnoticed long enough, which could lead to hindered braking power on the wheel.
Shortly after getting my truck, i started noticing a vibration that appeared at certain speeds. i took it to the tire shop and had them computer balance, only to find that they were in balance. called the dealer where it was purchased, and they had nothing to add.now i am hearing that many owners of this model are having the same vibration. now i have received a letter from a group of attorneys that say that they are representing the truck owners with this problem. i really do not want to get into some legal thing. but want the vibration to go away.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 (na) chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle would not accelerate for approximately three seconds when prompted. the vehicle shook and vibrated without warning intermittently. in addition, the transmission slipped and caused further difficulty and discomfort while driving. furthermore, the vehicle hesitated while making a turn and the vehicle had issues accelerating. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures. the failure mileage was 23,600.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. the contact stated that the four wheel drive remained engaged during inclement weather, and it randomly disengaged with an abnormal noise and a jerking vibration. the dealer was notified several times and had not provided a permanent remedy. the dealer was notified of a manufacturer recall repair and stated that the vehicle's mileage was too high. the contact was unable to get the dealer to complete a manufacturer's recall repair. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 12,000.
@ around 32,000 miles i threw a code, stabilitrack system engaged and it had a significant lose in power. i checked the code and it was a misfire in cylinder 7. i brought my truck to the local chevy dealer and they replaced the ignition coil and plug wi
Truck vibrates at speeds of 28 to 50 mph.gm district service manager knows about the problem.havent heard from anybody going on 4 months.kept on sending and calling gm to no avail.service manager told dealer do not work on my truck at all.because of that, i couldn't file for the lemon law.
When the below messages are received, steering the vehicle is extremely difficult, the steering wheel thrashes back and forth (when at slower speeds - i.e. attempting to park) and usually enters a "low power mode" where you can't accelerate, steer or about anything. in all cases, turning off the vehicle and restarting seems to return to normal until it happens again. 9/6/15: while making a turn, received a "stabilitrak off" and "power steering assist reduces drive with care" 9/8/15; received the above two messages plus "service 4wd" - 9/10/15 dealer replaced the transfer case actuator per tsb 9/14/15: received stabilitrak and pwr steering messages when attempting to park the truck -- dealer stated love voltage codes present, so they charged the batter and returned the truck to me. 9/16/15: had the steering wheel thrashing when backing into my driveway, but no messages 9/24/15: while on the highway (lucky traffic was slow) received the stabilitrak (twice) and pwr steering messages, so i exited to take side streets home. when making a left turn received the stabilitrak and pwr steering message, the low power mode and thrashing steering. this occurrence was in traffic and dangerous. currently at dealer, they state they are replacing both positive and negative cables and rerouted a wire that may have been rubbing the frame. note: there is a recall on the 2015 models for the electric power steering (eps) gm # 14743 -- same symptoms...
While driving at speeds above 45 mph, there is a vibration from the rear of the vehicle. also experienced when accelerating around turns at any speed. dealer advised it was wheel balance and balanced tires with no relief. have since replaced all 4 tires with no relief. issue began after oil change at dealership at approx 15000 miles.
I had recently purchased the vehicle and was coming back from vegas, going up a hill there was a little bit of traffic i was probably doing 35 to 45 mph and suddenly i heard a loud thud coming from the rear of the vehicle kind of like when you get rear ended and it did again a few times after that, when i took the truck to the local dealership and i explained to them what had happened and they say that it was new vehicle with a all new drivetrain and it had a 6 speed transmission and it was normal.
While driving, slowed the vehicle down to start a decent in the road, once vehicle reached level ground, i pushed the accelerator pedal, and vehicle would only rev up, would not got forward, while in drive. this continued until the vehicle was close to 5 mph, then vehicle started moving as the accelerator pedal was pushed. this has happened on several times, and the dealer states that they cannot duplicate the occurrence. tried to record the occurrence, but with the constant turning of the steering wheel, makes it hard to record for proof.
After driving for several hr. in rain wiper moter stop when start out trans slips and grabs so hard its like rear end is going out it like being hit it so hard several times i thought i was hit the time on radio wont stay on they tried to fix it several times but could not finely they said it was normal for that radio. took it to chevrolet several times could not find any thing wrong.
While driving, vehicle would quit pulling, as if in neutral. happened 3 times in a short period of time on may 10,2015. no warning before losing power to wheels and no warning lights came on the dash.engine was running normal before and after losing power to the wheels. i think this problem would be a serious safety problem if you were pulling out in traffic and loss all power to the drive. i now feel unsafe during the vehicle or taking it on trips. i think you should put a redall on this vehicle s drive train, computer and transmission before people are killed from this problem. *tr
Driving through the parking lot when i noticed a loss of power. i looked down at the dashboard and saw the check engine light was on. after calling the dealer, i attempted to drive back home. the truck wouldn't go past second gear. i even tried putting it on manual and shifting myself. even though the lever was on m, the m itself did not light up and the + - buttons did not work. thankfully i made it home with the hazards on. this is the second time dealing with this issue. the dealer said it was the transmission control module the first time. now they are saying it's the speed sensors. *js
Check engine light turned on while driving on the expressway. i pulled off the exit ramp and came to a red light. when it turned green, i stepped on the gas and there was little to no power. i pulled into the closest parking lot and turned the vehicle off for a few minutes. turned it on again and the check engine light was still on. i put the truck in reverse and the power was back to normal. i put it in drive and pulled up to the stop sign without incident. upon making a right turn, i noticed the rpms were unusually high and the transmission was not shifting higher than maybe 2nd gear. i pulled into the closest parking lot again and called chevrolet tow services and the dealer who sold me the truck as new with 450 miles on the odometer. *tr
Since about 15000-18000 miles this truck vibrates at most speeds, most noticeable at 65 mph and over. it is at the dealer for the second time. the first time all they did was balance the tires, but the problem didn't go away. the dealer is still scratching their heads on this. the loaner 2015 i have is worse and vibrates at all speeds.....
When driving truck on interstate i notice a vibration in the front steering and wheels once the truck goes over 65 miles per hour. this was doing it just after 1000 miles.. when the rotated tires when truck was serviced . the issue is still there
I was on my way home from work and traveling between 70-75. the engine began to feel rough. the check engine light was blinking and the traction control light was on. i exited the freeway and called the dealership. they said that it was safe to drive it to them. the engine idled roughly as if it wasn't getting air or gas and would die. as i drove to the dealership it shifted roughly, would only go 55, was shaking violently, and had significant loss of power. the technician said the code was for a miss fire on plug 6. they checked to see if the plug or wires had become loose. they thought it was a valve spring and later decided it was a bent push rod and have disassembled the head to inspect further. they are contacting the engineering dept. at gm to find out what would cause this issue. this is our second truck this year. our first was a 2014 silverado 1500 2x4, purchased in may w/ 4000 miles, rolled down a hill on july 26th and crashed into another car while unoccupied, locked and in park. gm was "unable to find anything wrong", and closed our case. the dealership was very helpful and this is our replacement truck. we took a loss but upgraded to the 4x4 because they had already been covered in the recall of june 27, 2014 "in effected vehicles, an electrical signal short may cause the transfer case to shift to neutral with out the driver's input." we haven't even made our first payment. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500. while the contact's son was driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle lost power and vibrated. in addition, the stabilitrak warning indicator illuminated. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to jim browne chevrolet (located 11300 n florida ave, tampa, fl 33612) where the transfer case shift control module and the instrument panel cluster were reprogrammed; however, the failure recurred. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v414000 (steering). the manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that a remedy part was not available for the repair. the approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
