This truck was purchased at 8 pm on 9/22/2014. when driving on 9/25/2014, the truck vibrated as though i was driving over rumble strips at approximately 40 mph, 55-75 mph. in hi-2 mode in drive, the transmission did not shift smoothly, shifting with a mild clunk at lower gears. we called the dealership and described the issues to a service person and made an appointment to bring the truck in for service on 9/29/2014. the dealer stated that the problems were probably due to alignment issues. on 9/28/2014, i drove the truck and experienced the same shifting and vibration issues. i pulled off the freeway near my destination and stopped at a light. when i attempted to accelerate from the stop, the truck would not move and "revved". it had switched into neutral without any input from me. the transmission shift lever still indicated that i was in drive mode. i drifted into the intersection, unable to get the truck to move. i was able to shift into park, then neutral, and then drive. the truck began to drive and then i felt a strong "thunk" that felt as though i had been rear-ended by a car going at least 25 mph. the truck then drove normally for approximately 150 feet. i had to stop at the light on the other side of the underpass and the same thing happened again, leaving me drifting into an intersection. i was again able to get the truck going after a minute or so, with the same strong "thunk". i called onstar to have the truck towed to the dealership because it is unsafe to drive. on the four other days that we have owned this truck, it was driven only a few miles each day, at low speeds. i am extremely concerned. the truck is unsafe to drive and has less than 300 miles on it. additionally, some of the issues i have experienced are similar to those addressed by a recall, but this truck's vin is not listed in the recall. *tr
While sitting at a traffic light while removing foot from brake pedal vehicle jump forward (as being rear ended) at other times at low speeds while parking vehicle lunges forward. vehicle acts like transmission is slipping then lunges forward. took vehicle to dealership and they reported that problems are a normal and are a normal characteristic of vehicle operating as designed. dealership then gave me a list of service bulletins of past issues that were not part of my original complaint. vehicle problems started with less than 800 miles now has 1800. vehicle problem is intermittent. *tr
This truck has a vibration at different speeds. i was told by dealer that they are having a problem with 2014 chevy trucks with the 6 cylinders. the dealer said they are waiting on a fix from general motors. the 8 cylinders are not having this problem. is general motors aware of this? *tr
The vehicle was purchased on august 27th 2014 and had a bad vibration on the drive home. it has a wobble sensation at 35-45 mph felt strongest at 43 mph that feels like it has a bent wheel but it doesnt. when you get to 65-70 mph there is a strong vibration from the truck felt strongest at 68 mph and it only occurs on smooth level roads and even changing lanes does not change the vibration at all so it is not related to the road conditions other then being flat and smooth. the dealer has made five unsuccessful attempts to fix it already and cannot find the problem and cannot fix the problem and has refused to try to fix it anymore. after researching this issue i have found that one out of five gm trucks (chevy & gmc) have this same issue even though there are not many people reporting this yet. do not buy or let anyone you know buy a chevy & gmc truck in the 2014 or 2015 years, 1 in 5 are lemons the vibrations are so bad that it will make you car sick after a few miles and can aggravate existing conditions such as people with back issues. this problem also greatly reduces the trade-in or resale value of the vehicle and will make selling it yourself very problematic if not impossible. if you look on youtube you will see people are starting to post some videos to show this vibration problem. *tr
Transmission issues: surges forward and shifting too soon loud clunks when it shifts up and down lower gears vibration when coasting to a stop difficulty/hesitation on shifting properly on acceleration loud clunking at downshift from 3rd to 2nd gear and vise versa and also a clunk shift when the vehicle approaches a complete stop. the downshift is so hard that it is a safety concern. there is tons of complaints on the internet claiming that a plate on the 2nd gear has to much of a gap. it's a manufacture defect, gm service bulletin: #pip5175b and refers to mexican sourced transmissions that were built with the stator support bolts not being properly torqued, leading to various concerns, the first of which to show up is usually the 1-2 shift flare/slip. the kick is hard enough when it shifts that you feel like your getting rear ended from 3rd to 2nd. also you think your transmission will drop out it goes into gear so hard.
I was towing a trailer utilizing the tow/haul mode, when suddenly the vehicle drastically slowed and the tires squealed and the rpm's went way up. it was like the vehicle suddenly downshifted into low gear by itself. *tr

Backlash was not setup properly from the factory. i had a loud whining noise from the rear end while cruising around 55 mph. i have had the truck in 4 separate times to fix it. first visit to a dealership refused to work on it. the second dealership replaced the ring and pinion and the axle bearings. this resolved the problem at the original speed but a new sound developed while decelerating from 50 and down to 40. took the truck back in again and replaced the bearings again. noise seemed fixed after this fix but the longer i drive it the noise is coming back again at 55 mph. dealer refused to work on it again saying that its not loud enough to replace the axle but if it gets louder they will replace the axle. spoke to the dealer where i bought it from and the service manager said this is the 3rd 2014 truck that the bearings and ring/pinion gears had to be replaced with very low miles and with improper backlash setup from the factory. i have a 2014 silver ado with the 5.3l v8, 3.42 limited slip rear end, 2 wheel drive. i have looked into lemon law for the truck but now the dealer is saying that its not loud enough to justify fixing it again. *tr

Pulled the truck into the garage and put the truck into park. turned the vehicle off and the vehicle did not register as it was in park but rather seemed to be in neutral. the truck began to roll backwards. i placed my foot on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle and moved the gear shifter to ensure it was indeed in park, it was in park. i turned the vehicle back on and confirmed that the truck was displaying p (park) on the instrument panel. *tr

my 2014 chevy silverado 1500, ltz, z71 started to have numerous issues since this past april. the truck has been in the unethical landers mcclarty chevrolet in huntsville, alabama seven times with only the smallest of the issues being fixed. 1st issue was the driver side seat moved when turning left or right. the dealer's service department informed me there was no fix and that the seat was within manufactures specs. the seat moved to the point that the ventilated seat cooler plug disconnected. the service dept eventually "fixed" the seat and reconnected the plug. lastly the issue i cannot get resolved through gm corporate, dealer service department or the regional gm manager. my truck "shakes" from speeds of 65 mph and greater. the service dept first told me i needed an alignment and have the tire rotated and balanced. the shake still continued, so i complained again to the service dept. this time i was told that two tires where "bad" do to road force and replaced them. the truck still shakes like a stripper so i emailed the ceo of gm on 11 july and assigned an executive liaison to work the issue. since then my truck has been in the service department twice. each time i was called a liar indirectly by the service department manager "[xxx]" and the district manager "[xxx]" after they test drove the truck and couldn't replicate the complaint. i had the service dept foreman "[xxx]" ride along with me as i drove the truck and pointed out the "very" noticeable shake at high way speeds. after numerous phone calls to the service dept, gm corporate, i found out that the service dept can utilize a vibration analyzer on the truck. this has not taken place or even considered. i continue to drive the truck with the shaking becoming worse with each mile. just like the ignition switch problem, gm down plays the issue and lets the problem compound. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
While driving in 4wd 'auto', off pavement in waterfront area, i did not think 4wd was engaging. when i shifted to 4h, the seat immediately clam shelled in and down on me. i reset seat, and noticed mirrors also had moved. a few minutes latter i tried the same maneuver while moving <5 mph, with the same results. i drove the 20+ miles back home in 4auto, but ready for a surprise shift into 4wd, with the accompanying, dangerous seat position change. it occurred 1 more time, while driving slowly approaching my driveway. i tried to duplicated it a few more times during a 2 week period; no occurrences. the sales people told me to use 4auto as my regualr mode. i decided to try 2h. now when i go from 2h to 4auto, the seat moves backward in short jolts. going to 4h or 4l, as directed in the manual, a clam shell effect occurs. i have done it with others in my truck, so they can witness the seat try to devour me. the last time it happened, i left it in the driveway with the seat & mirrors in their final position, so others could get in and see if they thought they could drive in that position. i have not set the set memory, and was very careful to not touch anything but the 4wd control while changing drive modes. as an aside, i noticed others owners had complaints about the seats. my 'safety alert' seat, 'heated and cooled (perforated)', 'front full feature', 'leather appointed buckets' developed a small tear in the lower, middle portion of the seat. i wanted it replaced, and of course, the friendly dealership staff tried to say this was 'normal wear and tear'. this was at less than 500 miles, 350 of which the dealership put on while driving it from another dealer. this truck is used for pleasure only, not work, no tool pouches or in pockets... if it wasn't such a bad example of how customers are treated by some dealerships, it would be laughable. current millage: 1,711 mi. *tr
1.average gas mileage between 10 to 12mpg on freeway which is nowhere near what was shown on the sticker. 2.radio not working/locks up, constant system errors, and display screen going black or green at random. 3.mylink system not working correctly, won't take voice commands & shows error messages on screen. the computer will completely lock up & become unresponsive until restart. 4.navigation system screen turns solid grey & locks up at random. 5.backup camera is coming on & the screen then turns black while at freeway speeds in drive, shows error messages. 6.lane departure system not working/detecting drivers side lines on road when crossed. 7.driver and passenger's front seats feel loose at mounting brackets while driving (rocks back and forth). 8.heated/cooled seats not cooling. 9.transmission not shifting correctly, misses gears on acceleration; constant slips & clunks' from powertrain while at road speed. 10.transmission/torque converter won't disengage from engine properly when braking & pushes the truck under engine power, to a stop at random times. the ecm/tcm is having communication errors or problems causing hazardous conditions to present themselves at random unpredictable intervals to drivers. 11.engine misses/stalls when making sharp turns at random: fails to accelerate when merging into oncoming freeway traffic or turning out of parking lots. again, the ecm/tcm is having some sort of software communication error which is causing hazardous conditions to present themselves at random unpredictable intervals to drivers. freeway merging with oncoming traffic or out of a parking lot into oncoming traffic without the ability to accelerate the vehicle is an extremely hazardous condition not only to the passengers of the unresponsive vehicle but to the passengers/drivers in the oncoming traffic. -truck just bought back by gm at our loss. *tr
When driving at highway speeds between 72 mph +, the vehicle will vibrate very badly to the point where you can not drive so fast. it comes and goes and when it comes back sometimes even at reduced speeds of 65mph the vehicle still vibrates very bad. i have informed gm of my issue and my local dealership and they choose not to do anything. really, because they don't know what it is. the vibration is so bad that it can numb your body by the end of your drive or distract you enough to crash. i drive up to 9 hours with my vehicle for work and it is very uncomfortable. i am filing this complaint to see if i can get help to stop this issue from happening. a lot of people are also having this problem and from my understanding, gm is ignoring them as well. *tr
