2004 silverado corrode brake lines. one broke while driving. no accident. all line corroded. seems like a safety notice should be sent to owners, my family could have been hurt. gm put cheap parts in, other manufactures are not having this problem. seems like a big public safety concern and it will get worse as the 2004-2007 line start breaking.

When turning on the the air conditioner smoke came out of the vents. changed actuator, it burns out immediately, air still does not work. recall on this part/product and prince chevrolet in valdosta, ga was unable to fix the problem. keeps shorting out. do not want my truck to catch fire. still have no air! *tt

Drivers side ac randomly blows hot air in my 2004 chevrolet silverado. if ignition switch is turned off and then restarted cold air blows again. *kb

Without warning of any sort my 2004 z71's speedometer has quit working. it stays below the 0 mph mark and if it decides to come alive while i'm driving it is completely off. i can be driving 20 and it will say i'm going 50 mph. this is my primary vehicle....i have 3 little girls and this is our main source of transportation. why won't gm recall this? i'm also hearing the clunking sound that so many other people have reported it is accompanied by a wobbling sensation in the steering column. i can't afford to keep having these issues serviced just for them to stop working again. recall or lemon law. *tr

Hello, i have a 2004 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 extended cab. i started to notice that the anti-lock brakes were acting unusual. between 10 mph and 7 mph, the anti-lock brakes will act like they were on wet pavement or icy pavement, pulsating until i come to a complete stop. i have 62,000 miles on the vehicle, it has been properly maintained and looks like the day it came from the dealer. i have been doing some research and have noticed that the goes back to the 1999 model year. i have contacted my dealer and there is not any recalls for my vehicle. thank you *tr

When driving or stop and the air conditioner is on it start blowing hot air just on the left side. the vehicle can be stationary or in motion. city street or a highway or turning. *tr

2004 chevy truck battery went dead, changed battery. the air conditioner started blowing hot air out of the drivers side and cold air out of the passangers side . gm wants $100.00 just to test and see whats wrong! ! ! ! checked the internet, found over 100 items with same problem. gm will not recall. why? *tr

I have a 2004 silverado,z71,and it has 106,000 miles. i just recently had the 4x4 system repaired,at a cost of $802.50. the encoder on the transfer case motor went bad, thus not allowing the 4x4 to engage. i am aware of three other similar trucks that have had the same problems. this is a very costly repair to someone like myself.thanks...david *tr

Radio, the radio in my truck broke within 12,000 miles and had it replaced. i now have 36,000 miles on my truck and the radio is broke again with the same problem. the problem is the cd gets stuck in the slot and won't eject out. i have yet to get my cd out. *tr

Speedometer stopped working. *tr

Tl*the contact's father owns a 2004 chevrolet silverado 1500. everytime the vehicle is driven, the air conditioning changes from hot to cold, the speedometer displays inaccurate readings, and the tachometer does not work at all. the contact had to constantly restart the vehicle in order for the components to work properly. he received a recall letter regarding the instrument cluster, but it was not repaired due to the mileage on the vehicle. the recall number was unknown. the current mileage was 91,400 and failure mileage was 75,000.

Air conditioner blows hot air and then cold. have shut down vehicle and pull battery pos. cable to reset. found web-site where 100s are having the same problem. *tr

2004 chevrolet silverado. the a/c blower stopped working, i took it to the dealer they said it wasn't covered under the vehicle warranty, the cost was over $400.00 for repair. the blower mostly worked on lower speeds so we did not pay for the repair. two years later the blower stopped working all together again. i inspected the blower and wiring harnesses my self to find the wiring had gotten so hot it was smoking and melting the harness connector and protective insulation around the wires leaving exposed wires and melting plastic that was surrounded by foam (flammable) insulation. why this is not recalled i don't understand, is this not considered a fire hazard? the vehicle now sits until i speak with the dealer who most likely will say again it is not covered by warranty which has now expired anyway. this is my wife's vehicle that she also carries my 2 year old son around in. so the vehicle now sits until we one way or another have the problem solved. in reading the other recalls on this make and model, i believe there may be a lemon law, or at least a fire safety warning of some kind with these vehicles. *tr

My 2004 chevy silverado has had a knock in the steering column it started at 18k. i had it fixed by gm at 30k. it came back at 37k. i did research and found out it is a very common problem that people keep paying to get fixed and it brakes soon after. i as many others are driving around with the problem. we cannot keep paying to get this fixed with defective parts. please help by investigating this issue. thank you *tr
