The service air bag light is on when starting, driving & standing still.
The service air bag light keeps coming on while we are driving our car. and i'm worried that the air bags will not deploy in a accident, or they may deploy while driving down the road. i don't want to disable the air bags but not knowing why the light for the air bags is coming on. i have looked online to see what i can do about this and i have found out that this is happening a lot on the 2006-2014 impala's. and people have taken there car in to the dealership to get fixed and the dealership can't figure out why this is happening. and they can't seem to fix it. plus our service our traction control keeps coming on and the dealership can't figure out why this is happening. this seems to be the problem with this car and the dealership can't figure out why this is happening so they can't fix it. so i'm worried that this car isn't safe to drive because the air bags might not deploy in a accident or if they will just deploy driving down the road.

Had car repaired and was informed that the passenger airbag is malfunctioning. i cannot afford $900 for a new one. is there someone who can help me with this issue?
While driving on a street, the airbag service light illuminated and warning indicator for the red airbag sign displayed. checked all connections and drove it to the dealership. they said they fixed the problem but they did not.
Airbag light stays on and it has a airbag message on the dash the ignition switch doesn't work the car won't turn over
My impala has had airbag issues since 2016 display panel constantly says to service air bag especially when someone sits in the passenger seat. i received the airbag recall notice back in 2016 and took the car to the dealer. they rewrapped the wires under passenger seat and system was ok for around 6 months then it started doing the same things with same issue. stating to service air bag and when in passenger seat is the only time it says this and it also displays that the passenger air bag is off.
My airbag light keeps coming on and off, i owned another 2009 chevy impala that i had a recall on but when i type in this one it doesn't come up. but the airbag light does keep coming on and off.
The car started to state the airbag needed servicing. i looked up the issue online and saw the recall for my make and model. recall number 273230. the nhtsa number is 16v507000. separately, the steering wheel is incredibly stiff when starting the car, and while making turns. need both arms to force the car to turn. there is no issue with power steering fluid. the steering loosens a small amount when applying pressure on the gas.
Car was parked at home on street.when i started the car service air bags message was on panel. car only has 50,800 miles. no dealers were open on saturday, and i was afraid to drive the car to work. missed a day of work, and maybe more days depending on repair time.
Door locks work intermittently with remote, especially over 75 degrees. usually driver door lock but can be any. all still work manually. this can be very dangerous because handicapped people are often in this vehicle and can't get out on their own. also intermittently dependent on how hot it is the service passenger airbag light comes on but often disappears. this started soon after the so called airbag recall was done.

Possible takata airbag recall ? the dash displays 'check airbags' every time the vehicle is in use, stationary or driving, stays continuously lit. this airbag display and symbol never goes off. airbag symbol stays on continuously on dash also. very concerned about my family and my own safety while operating this vehicle. thank you (xxxxx) parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
General motors has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2009 ' 2010 chevrolet impala vehicles. the front passenger seat frame in these vehicles may rub against and damage the wires of the passenger presence sensor (pps) module, which could cause the pps system to fail to recognize that the passenger seat is occupied and improperly suppress the front passenger airbag. in addition, the cluster gauges and driver information center (dic) alerts may intermittently turn off or not function properly. in rare circumstances, the damage to the pps module could cause the airbag fuse to short, resulting in the loss of all airbags and seat belt pretensioners. general motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in 2005-2009 model year (my) buick lacrosse, 2006-2011 my buick lucerne, 2000-2005 my cadillac deville, 2007-2011 my cadillac dts, 2006-2014 my chevrolet impala and 2006-2007 my chevrolet monte carlo vehicles. if the key ring is carrying added weight and the vehicle goes off road or experiences some other jarring event, it may unintentionally move the key away from the "run" position.
While driving on the interstate at 70mph, air bag light, engine light as well as traction control light came on. felt as if brakes were on. dash read "service traction control" & "engine speed reduced". 140,000 miles
I have problem with air bag , air bag light pop up by it self and close by it self. it's not working properly.
Service airbag light comes on intermittently and then goes off. i took it took the dealership and they couldn't replicate it. this has has more than one time. i'm concerned that this can cause an issue during a front end collision. multiple chevrolet impala owners have the same issue and gm won't stand behind this. same for the power door locks, driver door doesn't always open. same issue and since they can't replicate it, they say keep an eye on it. concerned if the door won't unlock sometimes. air pressure monitoring system & stability trak monitors also seem to have issues. the sensors on the car constantly go off and my vehicle has less than 65,000 miles on a 9 year old car. concerned when driving it if it's just a sensor issue or a real problem that can cause a safety concerned when driving and chevrolet doesn't want to do anything concerning the issue. i've already paid 645.00 for the actuator, 345.00 for the tire monitoring system and i keep getting told keep an eye on the service airbag issue cause they can't replicate it.
For over a year now, an airbag red light comes on sporadically along with a beeping noise. i can't afford the hundreds of dollars the local dealership requires to check it out to see if it is the drivers side or passenger air bag. i just want to know if it imposes any danger. they say it may me just a faulty system and that it doesn't necessarily mean that the airbag wouldn't deploy in an emergency. but they have to take the whole front side out to check. the labor time is quite price. also, when using my remote, the door locks stay locked off and on. no rhyme of reason. it has been going on for over a year; but your form here makes me put just one date down in order to proceed.
Service air bag . how do you do it?
Takata recall i recvied a recall from tk holdings inc.
I took my car in for the last recall for the passanger air bag sensor it did not turn the light off and the dealer says ther is a differant issue with it and that's why the airbag light is on. i couldn't tell you what they did as far as taping the wires or replacing the sensor. but i feel like they did nothing now they tell me the part is 433.00 and labor and programing is almost 1000.00. i see many cars have this same issue with the passanger presence sensor module. the airbag light on keeps me from getting the car inspected. basically if you sit in my passanger side front seat it can't recognize anyone sitting there. any help would be welcome on this situation.
Service air bag light keeps coming on and off. there should be a recall against something like this with safety involved.
Airbag light is on paid to get it fixed and it's still on afraid to drive it if i get into an accident it will probably not deploy the electrical system doesn't work my brake lights don't work to fix them and get new balls it's all electrical i seen there's a recall but i bought the car after the recall so i had no idea there was a recall for the electrical system wiring and the electrical system ignition my key gets stuck in the ignition and i have to push a button in the back in order for it to release
Takata recall, traction control (abs) 1. service air bag 2. service traction control, abs light comes on. car loses power when pressing on the gas pedal
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet impala. the vehicle was serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 16v507000 (air bags, electrical system). while the vehicle was being serviced at pat o'brien chevrolet east (2810 bishop rd, willoughby hills, oh 44092), the dealer diagnosed that the air bag wiring under the driver's seat had failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided some financial assistance. the approximate failure mileage was 84,807.

Airbag light comes on and service airbag is displayed. this is not related to the current recall about the passenger airbag. i took it in to the dealership for the passenger airbag recall hoping it would fix it. it did not.
I called my local chevy automobile place and they can not find the recall on 36110 passenger presence sensor and instrument cluster malfunction i need this fixed because i can tell how fast i'm going not see how much gas i got in my tank none of the instruments in the dashboard work i'm always running out of gas and i can't tell if car is hot or cold car is in motion when all this occurs
I have problem trying to get the passenger air bag fixed. the light keeps coming back on after they try to fix it. a recall was done but that was only to tape wires and light was still on. the car was not in as accident.
My air bag on the driver side never deploy and i have been hit 2 times within the last year .
Tires: are constantly needing replaced have had three sets of 60k goodyears tires in addition to a set of perillis with about 40 % tread since febraury 2015. brakes: three sets of brakes on vehicle since february 2015. everytime vehicle goes to mechanic they state that rotors are severely warped. electrical: having issues with abs traction control. this is causing reduced engine power when turning. when crossing a main intersections the car coasts across oncoming traffic. actuators and wiring to many vehicle components having ongoing issues. air conditioner, doors, door locks, relays the main issue i am having is non operational doors locks in vehicle. i have to craw through the car to open the door locks. i have young children and my daughter was standing out of the car awaiting me to unlock the door. another vehicle pulling into a parking spot nearly hit my child. another incident was having items stolen from vehicle due to intermittent of the locks. it has really become a major safety issue for me with this car. this issue with locks became a problem about two weeks ago. i stated to chevorlet i was able to press lock or unlock a couple of times and was always able to at least free one lock within the rear and front. any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated thanks [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Autonation along with gm communicated with my mechanic and myself and told me that my car repairs would be completed and paid for by gm as part of recall work and subsequent damage from the recall work not being performed before additional damage could occur. we were even told that our rental car would be paid for but once they towed the car from our mechanic to their shop, they told us that we would have to pay for that, although didn't communicate that to us until over a month had gone by. subsequently, autonation towed my car back to my mechanic but with even more damage than they themselves stated had been the situation with my car. their own mechanic stated both verbally and in writing (in the work order) that the recalled wires shorted causing the damage to my car. no one will tell us why that changed once our car was towed to them as we would never have towed it to them if that would have been the case. additionally, no one has told us why or who the someone is who disagreed with their own mechanic (and 3 additional mechanics subsequently) and made the determination that we would have to pay for the short and related damages. i do have the gm document safety recall report associated with this recall that outlines what happened to our call will happen to 1 percent of the cars manufactured during the timeframe my car was manufactured as well as the work order from autonation clearly stating a short caused damage to my vehicle
At around 140,000 miles i noticed my service airbag light coming on and off. overtime it continued turning on and off staying on more frequent than being off. i brought it to the dealership for a recall that affected the airbags. they told me they just had to wrap some wires that go underneath the seat and that was it. however this did not turn my airbag light off and i have gotten no help from any dealership or online forums. i believe chevy should recall this as many other individuals with impalas are experiencing the same issue. as to the seat problem. where my seat comes together at the low back, it shifts and moves around. the dealership said they could fix it at $900. they said they would have to find a new seat and then put my cushions and upholstery on it.
Approx 2 weeks after having a recall repair completed for passenger presence sensor 36110, my airbag light is on. now the dealer wants to charge me $250 to clean connectors. how would they get dirty? dlr says they have to remove both fronts seats to do this repair. i never had an airbag light prior to the recall repair.
Issues with the airbag and light the blinkers shorted out, the car kept dying and the key got stuck in the ignition in a parking lot. the gear shifter was getting stuck in different gears been undrivable since the beginning of august 2018 didn't know about the recalls till august but the recalls are in 2016 and 2014

When starting , it states service air bag, this will then clear but a few days week or month it comes back on [service air bag] it runs fine and has 148000 miles, i see there was a recall because of wire not connecting well. was this recalled? if so i never received the recall, thank you [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*jb

My car went into the shop on 9/20/2016 for the airbag recall. a little over a week later and the "service airbag" light is still coming on and off. the recall did nothing to fix the problem. reading up i am not the only one who is still having issue. please issue a recall that will fully solve this problem instead of just a week long bandaid
The airbag light comes on intermittently. was in a collision and the airbag did not deploy. the car was repaired but airbag light still comes on. also the horn does not work when i press on the steering wheel. the cruise control does not work either. the lights on the cruise control buttons do not light up.
This problem includes more items than your form allows me to check. it stated out about 7 months ago when you would be driving down the road and the service stable tract and service traction control light would come on causing the engine power to be reduced which is an annoence but is also a safety issue is you are passing someone on a two lane road when it happens and you can not complete the pass due to reduced power. if you pulled off to the side of the road and shut the car off the service lights would go away and may not come on again for weeks. this problem went away after a couple of months and then the car started a new one with a no crank, no start problem which when this would happen you would get up to three warning lights, (service table trac, service traction control, and service air bags) with time the no crank, no start problem kept coming and going and the only light that came on when it wouldn't crank or start was the service air bag light. if you kept trying to start it after 3 to 30 times it would start and run fine and may not act up again for 1 day or even up to a week. a couple of weeks ago i had my wife switch cars with me as this was the car she drove to work daily and i didn't want her to get stranded. i am so glad i did that as the very first day i drove it to work on my way home while driving down the highway the car shut off for no reason and the service air bag light came on, i lost my power steering and power brakes and again i could have been in very big trouble if this would have happened when i was trying to pass another car and i don't think the air bags will deploy with the service air bag light on. i reported the to chevrolet and they told me trying to fix it would be at my cost since it is out of warranty. the local dealer and found that they have been trying for 3 days to find a no crank, no start on a corvet with no luck.
This recall for passenger presence system harness was replaced in 2016 and replaced with another defective part still showing the airbag recall light no dealer will fix this defective recall replacement and general motors keeps saying i have to pay for it. only 600 miles have been placed on the car since the replacement and no one will respond. the car is unsafe to drive. my mother owned the car and it was transferred to me.
