Problems with 2014 Chevrolet Cruze AIR BAGS

I was driving to work on jan 2 on a 4 lane road in the rain at 45 mph and my car hydroplaned and hit the guard raid head-on several times. my car was totaled, both front tires came off. my side airbags deployed but the front airbags dinnot deploy. my insurance company said i should report this to you, in looking at the totaled vehicle they felt the front airbags should have deployed.

I was hit by a truck driving at least 50mph. his air bags all went off, mine did not. i was at a rolling start to drive, he was on the highway. with the amount of damage done to the car and the force of the accident it is absolutely terrifying that the airbags did not go off to save me from hitting the steering wheel so hard.

All digital electronic messages will spin if you turn key where you would read speed. manual gauges are not working. check engine, air bag, stability control system lights all on. car started for less than 5 seconds and the smell of extreme electrical so bad.. turn off immediately. lift hood and everything too hot too touch. can't get help from anyone! they say no recalls. the car is a recall where. i purchased it at, gallas chevrolet, albuquerque nm told me before this di not drive could be fatal. but will not pay for a tow or diagnostic test. gm financial, my financial company said it should be easy they take the car back send it in. they will credit our note. Driving home from work at 11:15pm on september 8th, nearing the toll plaza in gary, indiana the car made a sudden sound kindve like a bang, the engine shut off, all the lights on the dash came on, i came to a stop and tried several times to start the vehicle and it would not do anything. every time i tuned the key to the off position and then turned it to accessory, the dash displays service air bag and service power steering. the windows, door locks, truck release will not work. i had to call my insurance company and set up a tow to get the car back home. i had to be at work at 7am that day, i worked 16 hours, and didn't get home till 1:30am on september 9th. the car is in my driveway, it will not start or even turn over.

Car was stolen left front end was damage. paid 2500 for repair. pick up car 07/27/2018. the was in the shop 03/2018. they the car back to me no air bags. no front for cover on the sterring wheel. they want to pay another 279.00 for air bags. now their a sound coming from under the car. i just don't have extra money insurance did pay off because i was not driving the car. the car do drive the same it keep cutting off. the speed is 20 to 40 it wontt go any higher and the engine is not shutting off. the is trying to zoom fast on its on. iam really scare.

Hit a deer head on air bags never deployed but the service air bag light came on

A warning light came on for the airbag randomly. it evolved to the following issues: radio control panel going out with no volume control besides the steering wheel, static on the radio, a warning that park assist needed to be serviced (vehicle does not have park assist), headlights would not turn off upon the vehicle being turned off. the "solution" as there were so many errors that randomly started popping up (mind you, my car was serviced less than a month ago) is a $1500 change of a sensor or unplug the backup camera permanently. this clearly is a manufacturer defect, as why all of a sudden would the car suddenly think i have features that i don't even have on the car.

October 12 2016 my chevy cruze was hit by a peterbilt 375 dump truck in two place the driver side rear wheel and driver and passeger door speed was just over 20 mile per hour increasing because the mack truck bulldoze me up the road my airbags did not deploy and my seat belt did not tighten up. i complained in 2015 august about the fuel injection not allowing the car to accelerate when i suppress the gas pedal to the floor my car just did not move for about 5 seconds then surged violently. wentworth chevrolet and gm customer care center conducted a product safety check on my anti locking/airbags/ and fuel injection releasing the car 15 days later stating the vehicle had not problem then 10/12/2016 happened. i believe gm and wentworth allowed a compromised and broken vehicle back out on the road endangering my life acting with reckless negligence and complete lack of ownership and responsibility.

My vehicle was totaled in an accident in which the drivers airbag did not deploy. due to the fact that my son (the driver) who recently returned from the military was not in my insurance policy they refuse coverage. 2 weeks after the incident i received a letter from chevrolet informing me about a recall on my vehicle pertaining to the reason of the accident.i filed a claim with chevrolet , filed a claim with gm motors. till this day i have called and left messages and they won't respond to my calls.

Had i head on crash and the air ages did not deploy at all ?? i have necklace and back pain was in the hospital for 19 hours. and need to get my basic fixed i hit my head as well . but if the air bags worked i think that it would not have been as bad .i was moving about 35 mph and he was about 4o to 45 mph and he turn into me.

Local chevy service center told me this morning that there are no current recalls on our car, however the automated phones at central customer service said there was an open issue and to call back during normal business hours. this was a cincinnati city intersection accident both cars in motion at 20-30 mph traveling at 90 degrees to each other. our 2014 silver chevy cruze was struck on driver's side left front quarter panel (engine compartment) hard enough to snap the left front axel and spin the car around. waiting to hear from insurance adjustor whether our car is totaled. zero airbags deployed in our chevy cruze! son who was driving has bruises to both knees, left shoulder, and a knot on the left side of his head. the other chevy cruze had front end damage and all airbags deployed.

Daughter was involved in an accident on highway. vehicle in front of her used no turn signal or brakes. daughter ran into the back. damage to cruze was minimal but airbag did not deflate. only message center stating that airbag needs to be services as soon as possible. airbag warning. driver seat belt also jammed and will not unhook after accident.

At 55mph i felt that i had plenty of time to stop in a hurry. i applied firm pressure on the breaks and the breaks locked up. the car began to go into a skidding motion and i had absolutely no control over the steering wheel to move out of the way, i could have avoided this collision if i turned to the right, but because i had no steering ability i rear-ended them from my skid. the abs braking system, it is suppose to help me by pumping the brakes for me, but it didn't. i sustained a broken leg when the air bag deployed at my leg. on other occasions, i had also experienced the loss of power while driving..car would hesitate and then power and thought there was something wrong with the transmission. brought it in for that and they said there was nothing wrong with it

I was stopped in a construction zone a vehicle crashed into the back of my car at a high rate of speed not one of the 6 or eight airbags deployed have photos my face and nose hit steering wheel swollen very bad still nose swollen left arm injuried have to have mri to determine still hurts very painful . i am not understanding why not one airbag came out my trunk was pushed into my back seat back window shattered no airbag deployed

Driving down a road on the friday morning. when a deer popped up in front of me. i hit the deer on cruise control going 70 mph; but was hard braking to avoid the deer. the vehicle clipped the deer on the front left side of the car by the hood. the airbags did not deploy, meaning it wasn't even a big impact. so i pulled over to call authorities when the car began to smoke. shortly after, estimated two minutes, the vehicle caught fire. the fire begin on the front left side of where the battery was located. it completely burned down the car. not sure how hitting a deer, would not set off the air bags and also start a fire. luckily i was able to make it out with no injuries.

I was driving east on the road. the car in front of me suddenly stopped and i was unable to stop before hitting them. i do feel i was following at a safe distance but for some reason the car did not slow down or stop as i feel it should have. the front end of the car crumpled though the air bags never deployed and the onstar crash response never activated. there was also very minimal, if any, damage to the car in front of me (possibly dented the bumper). on a side note, i have owned this car for 2 months now and have only been able to drive it for approximately 17 days because i have to keep taking it back to the shop to be worked on for malfunctions in other systems of the brand new car. i am concerned that there may have been a malfunction with the brakes system or airbags as well.

My 2014 chevy cruze eco was hit in the right rear of my vehicle by a 2015 chrysler that was going approximately 40-45mph. my vehicle was going around 20mph. once hit in the rear i was flung forward and to the left, causing me to hit my head on the left a-pillar and momentarily blacking out and then went forward more just stopping before hitting my head on the steering wheel. then i hit the vehicle in front of me. no airbags were deployed, not a single one. the onstar system said they detected an airbag deployment but nothing externally deployed in vehicle. i believe that if airbags actually deployed it could have lessened or stopped my concussion i received from my accident. *tr

I have been trying to get my air bag recall taken care of since june. keep getting the run around at fairway chevrolet that the part is not ready and i will get a notice when to bring vehicle in for repairs. even received an important email that this needs to be taken care of asap....meanwhile not able to use the vehicle as much as i want due to the air bag danger. you would think i would get a loaner until my car is fully fixed and safe to drive. vehicle is a year old this month and 3300 miles as we are not using the vehicle very much. just do not know what to do! *tr

we received gm safety recall 14305 on june 25th. we were advised of an air bag malfunction and to contact our dealer asap. we called the dealer (paddock chevrolet) immediately and were advised that they had received no instructions from gm. they would call back in two days, which they did. they advised that still had no instructions from gm. it has now been over a week and have not heard from the dealer . i cannot believe that it is taking so long to give instructions to the dealer. in march gm had realized they had a problem . in addition the recall advised us to contact the dealer asap due to the increased risk of injury.i guess this points out to us that gm does not really care about their customer, since their fiasco with the ignition key. i will never buy a gm auto again because of the lack of concern for safety issues with the cars. this basic problem can never be solved as it is ingrained in their management style. *tr

The car was coasting on a level road. just before the driver applied the brake, the interior lights started flashing and the steering wheel locked. the brake pedal went all the way to the floor but the car did not stop. then the front passenger airbag went off and then the drivers side airbag went off. no other cars were around. on star came on and stated that the occupants were just in a very serve accident and that emergency services were on the way. there was no damage to the vehicle at all. gmc sent out an inspector and he was surprised. a report was prepared and ultimately it was stated that the car was experiencing a roll over event. however, the data in the report does not support gmcs contention. one major error discovered on the report was that the sensor said it was a small adult sitting in the passenger seat. that adult weighed 265 pounds or more at that time. next one of the data records says the event took place on 7/5/2013. one of the event recorders states the car was rolling in a clockwise flashing but another one shows the car was rolling head to toe. finally, the graphical data shows no rollover in one sensor and a counterclockwise rotation in the other. gmc stated that they would fix the car for free and offered to pay medical fees and bills. the passenger suffered a broken collar bone, a ruptured ear drum and blood pressure on site of 220/140. the vehicle sensor stated that the vehicle was hit on the side (broadsided). the data recorder states that both airbags went off at the same time, but there was a three second delay between the passenger airbag, then the driver airbag. the passenger airbag indicator status was set to the off position, thus no passenger airbag should have deployed per manufacturer specs. no rear curtain airbags deployed. the report shows the airbag deployed outside the standards set for airbag deployment. *tr
