Takata recall. recently while driving, my car will randomly say service stabilitrak or service traction control whenever i turn the wheel backing up but wasn't affecting the car in any way as far as i could tell. my headlights would also flicker at the same time so i figured it had to be something electrical. yesterday while turning onto a different street and today while driving straight down a street i lost power steering.
It's been one year and my chevy cruze has overheated twice. the first time the thermostat was wrong along with the thermo pipe that needed to be replaced. and now similar issue is happening where my car smells funny, i turn the heat in and the car will start to over heat and never warm the car.
Engine light comes on and car will slow down and barely take off. engine is responding to gas pedal but no power in low gear so takes off very slow nearly resulting in wreck. two shops, including transmission shop, state its electronic problem including 'lack of communication'. it happens from being stationary or in process of driving when it loses power suddenly. when engine light goes off it runs ok. dangerous to drive as never know when it'll act up. started about six months ago, and is intermittent.
While driving the engine totally looses power and the entire car is shut off and comes to a stop. lots of electrical messages show up, and sometimes the key cannot come out of ignition. after an hour, sometimes it will restart. i have had it towed three times to the dealer. at first they thought it was the negative battery cable, but its still has the problem. starting to not be able to trust this car as its a hazard to drive not knowing when it will cut out and just stop with no power to even have windows roll up.
Takata recall my car is shutting off then powering back up by itself.. seems like something is stuck reading a code of p0234
Engine power reduced light comes on, car idles rough, like it is going to shut off. when initially taking off car putts like it is not getting gas. car acts like it will stall while driving and during idling. stability service traction light comes on periodically and engine rmps increase. had car looked at in case it was o2 sensor, but was told by mechanic there is an electrical issue. issue has been occurring since may 2018. there are 126k miles on the car. car has been well maintained. i drive 45 minutes to work, 5 days a week. i have young children that i transport in the vehicle. car feels unsafe.
Drivers side heated seat shuts off after about a minute.
Smells like it's burning, smokes into the inside. it's been numerous times in the shop but it keeps doing the same. electrical problems with the driver seat and lighting also

My car just went out. no warning no nothing. the dashboard wend haywire and was unable to read anything at all (speed, rpm, fuel or temp). the ignition downshifted on its own almost causing an accident while i was on the highway. once safely off of the highway i tried to park the car in a proper parking space so that i could inspect the issue and it wouldn't reverse and shortly after would no longer go forward.
After starting the vehicle and driving forward the dash screen started to show different "check" warnings. check stability control, check power steering. the check engine light came on as so did most of the dash indicator lights. the power steering stopped and the engine temporarily quit. the engine responded again and while driving the dash went dark and the car died. i had to turn the ignition off and restart the car. this is the third time this has occurred. the last event was while driving through a parking lot.
Powering down also ac.some times stop runing.the pvc was not made right had to replace it was cauesing a vac. leak with no recall.now there is a posting about the intake exioes manfold broken down may have to replace mother and canylt ventor.a again no recall.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that the gears failed to properly change over from park. also the vehicle jerked and stalled several times without warning. the dealer diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 11v273000 (power train) and 16v502000 (electrical system, power train). the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was not available.

Coolant leaking under pressure from water outlet & water pump. causes check engine light to malfunction as well as engine coolant temperature sensor & radiator control temperature sensor.
I was driving on my way to work in my 2011 chevy cruze with my precious 1 year old daughter on the highway going the speed limit (60mph) when all of a sudden my transmission goes out just out of no where luckily im a good driver and know how to drive otherwise me and my daughter would be absolutely dead right now! i contacted chevy and the dealership they didn't care they seem to think it's absolutely normal for 2011 chevy cruze for this to happen with only 66,107 miles. i bought this car brand new in 2011 and i have taken it to the dealership where i bought the car for oil changes services etc every 3 months their is no neglect on this car it was properly taken care of. they have no sympathy for the situation. faulty electrical parts were put in my transmission when it was assembled in their factory but this is somehow my problem now lol what a joke. *tr
The car has a burning electrical smell. sometimes we can smell the odor in the cabin, but mostly coming from the engine after we have finished driving the car and walk around the front of the car. the odor has been present since we purchased the car in november 2016.
This vehicle safety complaint is in regards to my 2011 chevrolet cruze lt, which was serviced at ourisman chevrolet of bowie, a general motors (gm) authorized dealer, for the repair of my vehicle. i incurred charges for unwarranted maintenance repairs on the following dates september 26-october 5, 2016 ($134.95 and $139.07 (cost for a new battery)), april 26, 2016 (warranty covered repairs), april 11, 2016 ($590.92), and april 14, 2015 ($382.14) that never addressed the safety complaints i made, all of which were handled by service advisor buddy reio. on these dates, i took my vehicle to be serviced for experiencing hazardous issues with its electrical systems and reduced engine acceleration while i was driving between 40-55 miles per hour. without warning, my vehicle's speed would decelerate (both on the highway and residential roads) and my car doors would begin to lock and unlock uncontrollably with error messages 'service stabilitrac,' 'service parking assist,' and 'service airbag' displaying on my dashboard. after about 30 seconds of this condition, my car would resume normal functioning. i incurred $1,247.08 in unwarranted repairs for my vehicle, which was never properly diagnosed, leading to my vehicle shutting down while i was driving it on october 22, 2016. on october 22, 2016 at 3:20 p.m., while driving on a busy thoroughfare, my car decelerated and error messages displaying 'service stabilitrac,' 'service parking assist,' and 'service airbag' showed. after approximately 30 seconds, the car began to shut down and i managed to steer it out of the way of oncoming traffic. i immediately contacted chevrolet's roadside service and informed the representatives that my engine would not start and i was stuck on the side of the road.
Hello. my complaint is about the keys on my 2011 chevrolet cruze ls manual model. the metal key separates from the key fob. it has done this on three separate occasions, on two different fobs. the first two times my chevrolet dealer covered it under warranty and fixed it. the warranty is over now. at any rate, this shouldn't happen to car keys! it is a safety issue, and a nuisance as well! if this should happen to somebody in an area where it's unsafe, or the weather is bad, etc, it could turn out to be unsafe...because the key is broken off from the fob and it's unlikely one would be able to rig it up to get the car started...and should not have to because it should not break in the first place! thank you! hope i can make a difference. ps: vehicle was stationary when this has occurred. still...not good! *tr
I smell gasoline when the heat is on , and we cannot use the heat cause of the smell of course the car is in motion , is there a recall for this problem ? and also there is a leak from the engine , i think
I was driving when my car starting beeping saying my door was open while in motion and also my locks kept locking and unlocking while driving also my windows kept opening and closing without the button being pushed.
My car hesitate sometime during driving at low speed or high speed and the stabili trak light appear, the check engine light stays on even when i have replaced the part needed..
Loss of power steering during driving, radio flickers on and off while driving, while pressing brake while stopped the car continues to jump forward - city driving on highway and streets. began happening one month after i purchased car on 4/3/2016.
Possible electrical problems. dash board randomly lights up; radio has gone completely off; steering wheel difficult to turn; security lock out engaged once; traction control came on and hard to steer and several occasions. this incidents are happening randomly and had near miss on highway not expecting the steering to lock up or become extremely difficult. this has happened over last several months. independent car repair shop could not find anything, but still happens.
2016 ecm reprogramming recall ever since i brought my car in for the recall in 2016 to have the ecm reprogrammed, i have had severe issues with very rough idling, slow acceleration, and inconsistent fuel usage. check engine light comes on and lists several sensors that need to be replaced. we replaced all of them and the problem still comes back. now the codes indicate there is a catastrophic issue with the ecm and chevy will not cover it even though this issue started from their own recall.
The radio/hvac display turns off and on; the antilock brake system, service traction system, service stabilitrac and steering vehicle messages comes on and off; the turn signal sound may not be heard; 'battery saver active' and 'service steering' displays in the driver information center (dic); and the interior and exterior lighting may flicker. power steering assist is also lost, and greater effort may be needed to turn the steering wheel at low speeds or while the vehicle is stopped. this only happens in the summer. doing speeds of 65mph. the car loses power and then the dash board and radion flickers on and off. the cars sometimes shuts off and i will have to put my hazards marker on the let the car pull over to the side of the road. and im not able to take the key out the ignition. the key will get stuck and about 3 minutes later i trying again and the key will come out. i try to start it up again and the car will start up. the steering will lock up while im trying to turn or is turning the it will go back to regular state. it only does this in the summer or when the car gets hot. so i took i to the dealership and they said it was my negative battery cable. this is unsafe. this has been going on for almost a 1 year it starts and stops when it wants too. also when im stopped or sitting at a stop light the matters are even worser
From a stopped position, i would accelerate through 1st gear, just before i change gears to 2nd. the whole car's electrical system goes haywire. all systems reset, most of the time this means i can a very bad jerk in between gears 1 and 2. a few times the car turned off. if the car does die, i am unable to start the car or jump it for at least 15 minutes. the longest i had to sit was over 30 minutes. chevy's dic system tells me to check a variety of things, not always all of them. but usually check power steering and airbag systems. a few times it told me to check traction control systems. the check engine light has never come on in any of these instances. chevy says this is due to a faulty ground wire, which they replaced and it continues to do this. this is a very dangerous situation, where if i was in a busy intersection i could easily be caught in an accident. luckily, this has happened mostly in residential areas.
On 12-5-15 i was on my way to ct from mass and was on 91. about 45 minutes into the trip the car began to loose power and the check engine light came on and the service stablitrack light came on. as soon as the light came on the temperature gauge and rpm gauge would fling up and down quickly! i immediately went from 65 mph to 30 mph.( i was almost rear ended by a car behind me) i coasted my way to the right lane and was able to get off the exit. the car took about 4 hours to go back to normal. ( i returned to mass, i had to take the back way home and avoid the highway as the car still had reduce speed) the car will return to normal and the check engine light will go off. everyday now the check engine light will come on and it will say service stablitrack. the car immediately looses power and you can hear the engine (sounds like a fan blowing hard) the transmission will not shift. the rpm will jump to 4-5 while only getting to a speed of 35 mph. the dealer has no idea what i am talking about. this car was bought in january of 2015 and has less than 65,000 miles on it. i have read a few complaints about this similar situation happening to the same car i have. this is a safety issue!!! the car has been serviced on time!!! please help me!! i refuse to take the highway as i never know when this is going to happen.....

Have had repeated issues with service stabilitrak light coming on while driving and then power being reduced to vehicle, causing unsafe driving conditions; following recall to reprogram computer engine fan ran continually for days; car died when startong, dealer replaced computer tried to return with check engine light on, now stabilitrak issue has recurred again. not confident that dealership has any clue what is really wrong with this car. the dealership's most recent guess is that something is wrong with the transmission but that they are getting a code they don't recognize.

This incident with my chevrolet cruze has happened on more than one occasion in the same month. i will be driving, coming to a stop and the whole car will turn off on me. the air conditioning shuts off, radio, the whole car powers down. i put the car into park, turn off the car, wait a few minutes and turn the car back on. praying that me and my two year old don't get into an accident throughout the incident.
While driving the radio shuts off and a warning pops up in the center between the speedometer and rpm gauge that says service stabiltrac or service traction control. while that happens the power steering shuts off. that's a normal occurrence that happens randomly once or twice during my 20 mile drive to work, and on short drives for errands. today the vehicle completely shut off twice while driving down the road. i almost wrecked 3 times going around corners when the power steering shut off along with the radio.

I purchased a used 2011 chevy cruze lt three months ago. prier owner owned the vehicle for 3 years and hardly drove it. i was sitting at a light when the check engine light came on the "engine power reduced" flashed on my screen. the car slowed to 2 mph. i pulled over and turned off the vehicle. later i turned the car back on, check engine light came on. when i started to drive "service esp" flashed on my screen, then "service traction" flashed on my screen following by "engine power reduce." this happened to me 3 times in the same trip and is very dangerous. i thought maybe it was because of the snowy weather and freezing temperature? anyone have this happen? how can i fix it? help!? *tr
The chevrolet cruze 2011 is compromised by hacking and tampering and allows for the endangerment of the drive, other motor vehicle drivers or pedestrians. the radio antenna will sound off and constantly make a roaming noise as if being accessed. this is at every stop sign and every stop light or every destination reached by gps markers. the cruze system is allowing the 24/7 tracking when it is used and tampering with the intent to cause malfunction or annoyance. the throttle is being cut off deliberately at stop signs, and traffic lights and destinations, the radio antenna will constantly make a roaming noise "searching or access". the vehicle is deliberately being used for stalking blacks for hate crimes while testing out vehicle halting systems by clearly satellite. this has happened 100 or so times in the 3 year i have had the vehicle and there is no remedy. when other persons use my own vehicle these issue do not arise and i have confirmed this with other owners, my vehicle is a unique occurrence that involves also a hate crime in public, police stalking, law enforcement stalking, home stalking and tampering of all electronic devices i own or use in my home. this car is not safe and the throttle cut offs are deliberate and specific. the throttle as i said already is cut off at a stop sign or mid acceleration with the intent to remove operator control and halt the vehicle. the lights are turned on and off on their own on one occasion. i have had other people test the car, these things do not occur even while i am in the passenger side. only when i am the sole individual driving the vehicle alone is the throttle cut off and the lights tampered with including the antenna for stalking and tracking where i go. this is my second filing to address white supremacy under the color or law that interferes with personal property and use and control of property. *js
Leaving a parking lot the instrument panel began to blink on and off every check engine light started to come on and off. power steering was lost for a short period. still in the parking lot at a stop sign turn the engine off. the car was completely dead, no lights no clicking noise when you attempt to re start. opened hood checked the new battery wiggled the cables interior lights came on and car started up. since then it has happened numerous times each event getting worse. eventually it died and was towed to the dealership and is being looked at. this seems to be common with chevrolet cruze.
I was driving on my way to the store, suddenly i started smelling something burning. i the thought that the smell was coming from outside. but it happened again on december 31st when i was on my way home from work. i didn't see any smoke, but i smelled something burning. the fumes were coming from the vent. this needs to be checked out. *js
Heater at first did not work; dealer removed air bubbles and topped off radiator. the dealer mechanics mentioned that typically the thermostats or temperature sensors have gone in the cruzes. 2 weeks later - sure enough, back at dealership - need 2 temperature sensors now. based on blog activities - it seems like these warrant a recall. *tr
Was traveling on the highway with cruise control set at 67mph when suddenly the car just lost power and the engine quit running. all of the dashboard instruments lost power ,gas gauge registered empty, etc. although the radio did not go off. luckily this happened with very light traffic and was able to pull off in the emergency lane and put the vehicle in park and restarted the vehicle with no trouble. continued our trip and did not happen again. after thinking about this i did notice the vehicle a few weeks ago losing some accelerating speed/power intermittently while traveling. not sure if that was an indicator or not. did call onstar approximately 5 hours after incident to diagnose and see if any error codes came up and they stated they showed nothing. this is my daughters vehicle and i fear that if she is traveling in heavy traffic and this happens again that this could cause a sever accident. *js
The vehicle would not shift out of park nor remove the key. the wheel was locked as well as the shift lever. the car would turn on however would not move. there was no lights in the vehicle. *tr
Was driving the cruze, a message flushed in screen "ac turned off due to high engine temp" ac was not on, heat was not working, turned off blower, the screen changed to engine overheated idle engine, then changes to partial power loss and the car became sluggish, i had to continue driving until a safe place was available to pull off, then the reactions control light started blinking and my oil life indicator told me to change oil before returning to the partial power loss message. i towed to dealer. *tr
My car keeps shutting off while im driving it.. it is now not even turning on at this point. i try to start it and wont turnover. last week while driving down the highway at speed 35-40, my radio and a/c turned off, then the car began to slow down, then shut off in the middle of the highway. i want to add how extremely dangerous this is for me (7 months pregnant, and 2 little girls in car). i tried scheduling an appointment several times for the electrical recall and have been scheduled far out. *tr

I was driving at a low rate of speed when my car died. i had no brakes, power steering or engine power. i tried to turn my key to restart the car but the key on my fob was stuck, it wouldn't move forward or back or out of the ignition for quite a white. when i was able to get the key out, i returned it to the ignition and restarted the car and drove straight home. i called chevy corp. office where they towed the car to my locale dealership where they could not find a problem. i am scared to drive my car, due to this happening again. *tr

On this date we scheduled a oil change with a dealer who has performed all maintenance, recalls and repairs since the purchase of our new car. we where notified that the car was ready for pick up that morning as we arrived we paid our invoice, the consultant made us aware that the engine light came on (first time since new?) this consultant did not document this engine light to our records. well, the engine light kept going off and on during the next 10k miles (2 oil change later, out of warranty, my fault) i had this check engine light diagnosed by our dealer and they had the codes and then further tried to correct the problem. they wanted $800.00 to install a new air intake manifold and throttle body then continue to test for more problems with no guarantee of repair. i could not afford the repair and declined the fix. the other problem surrounding this car since april 21, 2014 was that the fuel gauge would not show full after fill up and would move up and down the scale on the gauge. the ac would come on at strange times when running the heater? well any ways that was 7 hours at the dealer and made for a long day. i had to return to pick up the cover they forgot to install over the spark plugs, and complained about the leather sets being soaking wet with water and that the car has had these problems since april 2014 under warranty, the dealer did not want to help us? i purchased this car from them and purchased the 35k oil change extended warranty and bumper to bumper warranty? this dealer did all ! the maintenance, recalls and repairs. i'm glad we didn't go over the 1000 foot cliff at yellowstone when the brakes decided not to work (we learned later of the brake recall) they have a excuse for every question you ask, no reports on the all point inspection on our brakes and tires, password problem they say? i'm ready to buy a truck elsewhere now, poor gm an chevy. *tr
