I bought my 2014 buick enclave at the end of may and had it in the shop at the beginning of december, after putting 3000 miles on it, for power steering issues, (noise and vibration) and it turns out the needed to replace the pump but were not comfortable with the design, while they were looking at it they said they needed to also replace a ball joint. then in mid jan. the noise started again, i had it checked and they said it was from the cold, well that became untrue as it became worse in the next few weeks (noise and vibration as i was turning) and i brought it in again 3-7-2018 and sure enough the same problem is there!! so the mechanic has to figure out a different solution by calling the buick dealer. i am extremely disappointed with this as this is my first "new" vehicle i bought, very unhappy!! buick needs to recall and find a fix for all these problems!
My wife went to local store and parked the car. when backing out of parking spot, she was unable to turn steering wheel !!!!. it happened on 12jan2017 with only 18,824 total miles. car had to be loaded and hauled to local dealer due to steering failure. and the cause was, i quote or copy from dealer work order inspected and found belt hanging loose on engine. found idler pulley bolt broken and pulley laying loose extracted broken bolt from block. tapped threads to ensure none damage {end of copy} what happens here in az driving in the mt's around curves?? would they say oh he's old lost control and went over the edge and the crash broke the bolt. or looking at cell phone crossed over center line hitting a semi head on. the crash broke the bolt. and never find out they have bad bolts in the steering system. i told several shop supervisors but they just shook there head. are the bolts not harden correctly? was to much torque used for bolt size when installing?? are the bolts to small of a size for the job?? the bolt only had to hold the belt pulley tight on the serpentine belt. so that you can steer, run the generator and other things. t. but it snapped while parked or car was started. i am scared while i am driving the car. when can it happen again? car was in warranty and fixed at no charge. ...
