Problems with 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On average, the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 starts to “feel” problems with the UNKNOWN OR OTHER and its various aspects after 52 541 miles.

Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2014 GMC Sierra 1500

Ac problem - my ac just went out for the third time since i bought this truck new in 2013. i went to have it repaired and was quoted ~$1,000 for a new ac condenser. after researching online, it looks like this is a very common and expensive problem that gm hasn't resolved.

Started having trouble with brakes, pedal is getting hard at low speeds. dont have trouble until in at red lights or stop signs. no check engine seems to come up yet.

Air condenser failure. there is a recall for suburbans, yukons and tahoes for the same issue, and same parts, however not for the silverado and sierras of the same year. this is not covered under any recall or warranty from gm/chevy. there are multiple class action lawsuits across the us regarding this topic alone. i do not believe that there should be this type of failure on a 4.5 year old truck, especially when the original cost of the truck is $50,000.

I have a leak in the a/c condenser. this is a very well known issue. there are stories written about this issue because it is so wide spread. at one point the parts were on back order, that is how many people have had issues. just contacted gm and they will do nothing about it. they do not consider this to be a safety issue. yet on the front page of even your website, there is an article about death's from heat rising. so a defective a/c system seems like a safety issue to me- here are the many stories written on the issue: https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/gm-air-conditioning-responds-439572983.html https://chevroletforum.com/forum/2014-2018-gmt-k2-110/2014-silverado-ac-problems-already-67170/page8/ https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2018/gm-ac-compressor-condenser-problems-lawsuit.shtml https://www.torquenews.com/3768/owners-2014-chevrolet-silverados-want-federal-trade-commission-force-recall-their-air-conditioning-problems http://www.radiatorhelpline.com/2017/06/2014-2017-chevy-gm-condenser-widespread-failure.html https://www.consumerclasslawyersblog.com/bunch-hot-air-ac-gmc-chevy-trucks-simply-not-work/

I have noticed an issue for a few years while parking that my brakes would lock up if used repeatedly. while getting service done i had asked if they noticed anything and they had said no. they have know recognized it is a problem but are limiting the fix to 72000 miles which i am 3k over. they said i have never formally complained about this so i disqualify for the $ 540.00 repair. yet they recognize it is an issue with the vehicle. i feel they are trying to avoid a formal recall.

Leaking condensor

The door locks dont always lock. my grandson was in the back seat and fell asleep, while asleep he bumped the door handle and the door opened while we were going 50 mph., lucky he had the seat belt on. the door should not have opened as the lock should have engaged when the truck is put in gear and made the door handle inoperable. the door lock actuator is the problem, this will be the second one replaced. you dont know they dont work because they make a locking sound when activated. they just dont lock, very dangerous glad he didnt fall out of the vehicle.

Brakes loose pressure, when pressed on uphill/down hill,in reverse. ac hose from condenser to compressor is faulty leak out all fluid

Air conditioning condenser leaked out all freon due to faulty weld

Vehicle will not switch out of auto for the 4x4. can not switch to 2wd.

A/c compressor failure, $1267.43 to replace by chevy dealership. only, 33,000 miles. a known chronic problem as found on internet, gm states out of warranty

Air conditioning leak cabin becomes excessively hot

My 2014 gmc sierra 1500 has a air conditioning leak in the condenser for the 2nd time. the first time was at 48,000 miles (2 yrs old) and now again at 92,000 (4yrs old). the first time the part was on national backorder, however i was able to locate one at a different dealership. i paid $600 for the replacement. now they want to charge me $1000.00 for the same thing. however they are willing to cut me a break down to $699. i believe this is because there is also a leak in the cooling system. i have contacted gm and there standard warranty is 1 yr on parts so they are not willing to anything about it. upon doing some internet searches this appears to be a wide spread problem. please note that the phone number on the uploaded paperwork is incorrect.

My truck.was.fixed.once for the sterring and is still.cutting out its.so.bad that its shutting the hole truck down.in the.middle.of the road an.on the highway or when u go to speed up it cuts out n the streen comes tight

The service trailer wiring warning comes on with no trailer connected or if there is a trailer connected you have no trailer brakes this happens at any speed i have had this truck to 4 different dealers but the light went out before i got there and they could find no problem this started when the vehicle was new and still happens it seems to be the worst when it is damp or raining but not always it does not matter how fast you are traveling

A/c condenser and hose defective manufacturing causing it to malfunction and cease working. has happened on numerous models but gmc refuses to to cover the costs associated with this. items needed to repair are out of stock causing long delays in getting repair. driving in the extreme heat in socal with small children is not safe. would like for your agency to help in protecting the consumer by standing up to gmc / chevy to hold them accountable for this faulty manufacturing. there is a pending class action lawsuit in tn i believe and countless social media posts about this widespread problem yet it remains the burden of the consumer to not only pay out of pocket but to wait for repairs because parts are out of stock. 1st quote was $1600, then gmc said they would pay for a portion bringing the costs down to approximately $700. its a huge financial burden that shouldn't exist. do a quick google search on gmc ac problems and you will see the problem is not unique to me. we've only owned gmc cars and never had an issue and have put over 150k miles on it. please help.

Ac started blowing hot air, shop came back to me with a bad condenser and over $1100 to fix. truck only has 73k miles on it and has been well taken care of.

Air conditioning began not producing cold air. in less than a couple hours only ambient air was being blown out of the vents. this is a known problem with gm vehicles years 2014-2015. gm has put out a service bulletin to it's dealers on this problem yet refuses to assist it's customers. based on online searches there are thousands of gm customers who are having the same issue.

Discharge hose failed causing air conditioning to not function. it leaked at the bend, near the compressor. this is a known issue as there was a bracket made to reduce vibration and increase life of hose. very many failures of this hose and condenser.

Air condition compressor is leaking .air conditioner is blowing hot air. have seen multiple reports on the same issue. also there is a class action suit on this issue. contacted gmc and they will not assist with replacement of repair. just bought vehicle in december . had vehicle since december 31 first tried to use a/c on 5/1/2018. problem started immediately.

The ac condenser was leaking, which made the ac blow hot air. after much research, this has been an ongoing, and known, issue that has not been addressed. many individuals have been taken advantage of monetarily (me just yesterday) because of this issue, and needs to be recalled. i just had hip surgery, and the cost of repair really put a financial strain on me. i live in texas, and no ac is not an option.

Air conditioning system failure. approximately 50,000 miles. air conditioner blows hot air.

2014-2015 gmc sierras were produced with a known faulty a/c condenser with a bad weld that causes an a/c system leak requiring replacement. there has been an overwhelming failure of the product across the country, so bad to even make nbc news. gm became aware of this issue and sent new (properly produced) condensers to their production lines first, leaving hundreds of gmc owners without a/c over the summer. they put out a "special recall" on a very small number of vins saying it "may" happen in other vins. there is an overwhelming volume of complaints online (to include myself) to where gm is acknowledging this issue but refusing to cover the replacement cost of their faulty part for hundreds of owners having this issue. the replacement cost of this faulty part for my vehicle was $1,338.61 at the gmc dealership. i've called gmc and their response was: "it may happen with my vin but they will not cover the replacement" even though i have confirmed that this was in fact the issue with my vehicle as well as hundreds of other owners across the country. see many links to this issue below: https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/gm-air-conditioning-responds-439572983.html https://www.consumerclasslawyersblog.com/2017/08/01/bunch-hot-air-ac-gmc-chevy-trucks-simply-not-work/ http://www.radiatorhelpline.com/2017/06/2014-2017-chevy-gm-condenser-widespread-failure.html http://www.silveradosierra.com/climate-control/2014-silverado-ac-not-blowing-cold-t414162.html http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/191160-2014-sierra-ac-leaking/ http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/200888-ac-condenser/ https://www.carcomplaints.com/gmc/sierra_1500/2014/ac_heater/ac_condensor_leaking.shtml https://www.carcomplaints.com/gmc/sierra_1500/2014/ac_heater/ac_not_working.shtml https://www.torquenews.com/3768/owners-2014-chevrolet-silverados-are-furious-they-cant-get-their-ac-fixed

A/c condencer

Ac condenser leak. history of faulty condensers with gm trucks

My truck only has 50000 miles and the air conditioner no longer blows cold air. i recharged they ac system an two months later it again only blows warm air. did research and numerous owners of this vehicle are having the same issue. some have had it repaired and it has been identified as a faulty weld at the compressor. a manufacturer defect that gm refuses to repair.

I have taken my vehicle three times to the dealership for the radio systems turning off completely, not giving access to radio functions, and stays on after the vehicle is completely turned off. now the issue is crossing over to the driver cluster control module where it turns off completely and restarts on its own while i'm driving. dealership has never given me a solution or have contacted me since then. when i called about on going issue, they stated that they cannot do anything unless the problem is present when at the dealership even after i explained it happens at random times. they refused to listen and look up prior service history. did prior research and located an article that radio and cluster were going to be part of a recall but gm claimed it was not an issue.

A/c condenser failure on a 3-year old truck. $1,200 dealer repair and google search online shows this is a massive systemic problem amongst owners. need a recall

Purchased my truck nov 2014. air conditioning does not work. condenser failed.

Ac condenser failed. when researched on-line found pages of others complaining about the same issue...always cracks in the same corner. gmc would not warranty. wanted to charge $1,300 to replace their faulty condenser. even the service dpmt admitted it was an issue. ended up paying about half that, but the bottom line is gm has a faulty component and they are hoping they fail just outside of warranty. an ac condenser is not something that should ever (or very, very rarely) get replaced in the normal life of a vehicle, certainly not before a 100,000 miles. this should be a mandatory recall and updated or at least it should be covered for those that fail during the normal life cycle of the vehicle.

A/c condenser has crack in weld on right upper weld as described by many others on forums for gmc and chevy 2014-2017 trucks. date below is just an estimate as when the actual date is unknown. the date is when air started blowing warm

Vehicle shakes excessively at highway speeds. shaking is so bad that it causes seatbelts to lock. multiple sets of tires and balancing have not solved the issue.

Started my truck on 7/30/17 and had no cold air blowing from the vents. drove it for the day and still nothing. took it into the dealer on 8/2/17 and received the diagnosis of a cracked ac condenser. the fix is not possible for 6-8 weeks because there is a national backorder on a replacement condenser from gmc. this is a design issue and not a ware and tear issue. the dealerships want the owners to pay for it even though their design is at fault to begin with.

Air conditioner fails because of faulty condenser, this is a widespread problem since a replacement part is not available worldwide because of the demand. the dealerships are sending vehicles to 3rd parties to have the condenser repaired. this repair is not covered by any warranty.

When driving at higher speeds (50+ mph - typically on the highway) the entire truck shakes: the console, steering wheel, etc. you can feel it in the seats and the floor boards. it feels as though the truck is going to go out of control or break down at any moment. over the past two years, we have had our entire truck suspension, alignment, brakes/rotors, etc inspected numerous times and were told more than once by gm technicians that this vehicle performs under acceptable conditions according to general motors, even though they agree that it does not feel acceptable. my last inspection was today and i was told the same thing.

Air conditioner started blowing hot air in november/december 2016 at or around 50k miles. in june 2017, paid a gmc dealership to diagnose the vehicle. results show a condenser leak.. contacted gm customer care dept. (spoke to beth). beth confirmed the diagnosis, informed me of the backorder, then informed me that gm would not provide cost assistance for the repairs.

A/c condenser went. gm has not issued a recall. there is a national back order on the re-designed condenser. people are being forced to wait months and are going without a/c. gm claims that they are aware and are working with two manufacturers to get the new part made and shipped to dealers. please see documentation of chat session with gm rep.

The air conditioning started blowing hot air. it went out in june andi hear now wont be fixed until october. it is unsafe to have young kids or my parents in the car.

A/c condenser failure. repair part is on national backorder. estimated arrival time is 10-12 weeks. texas summers create a very hot vehicle. children in car seats without air conditioning is dangerous when sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. rainfall requires either the windows get rolled up or children get pelted with rain drops on the highway. neither are acceptable.

45,000 miles. air conditioner starts blowing warm air about a month ago. the following week, take the pickup to the local dealership to diagnose the following. condenser is leaking. informed that the part is on a national backorder and they will call me when it comes in. three weeks and counting so far. i live in the southwest so the temperatures have been very hot lately as this is the hottest part of the year.

A/c condenser issues across many different vehicles have caused the part to be on back order in some cases for months. to me this sounds like a defective part that warrants a recall. a can of refrigerant can leak out, for me, in the matter of just a few weeks and i took it in and was informed of the condenser leak. this has been an ongoing thing that many others have complained about. i understand that this does not qualify as a safety issue but others have stated this is the process to conduct a recall investigation if warranted.

I currently own a 2014 gmc sierra 1500 with 55,000 miles.on may 15 2017 the vehicle was diagnosed with needing an ac condenser at greiner buick gmc because the vehicle had stopped blowing cold air. we were told the part had to be ordered and they would call us when it arrived to be installed. that following day we received a phone call from the parts department at the dealership stating that the ac condenser is unavailable and they did not have an eta because the part was backordered. about a week had past, and being frustrated with having no ac , living in 110 degree weather and driving this vehicle with a 2 month old and 4 year old child, i was desperate to have it fixed. i contacted general motors directly to see what the issue was with the part and see if they could help me. after speaking to the representative, i got no answers besides they are "working on it." she told me this was a nationwide problem and they are trying to get the part available from the manufacturer. i told her my situation and the safety issue with no ac and the climate i live in and she told me they couldn't do anything or expedite getting the part. my husband and i looked into getting an aftermarket condenser and those too are unavailable. we did research and there are tons or complaints about the ac condenser breaking in the gmc sierras and chevy silverado models and gm has done nothing about recalling it. this part rarely fails in a vehicle, unless it is damaged. it is clear that this part is defective, and is unavailable even to be replaced. this is a huge safety concern and gm needs to address this. still, 2 months later our vehicle still has no ac and gm has done nothing to help us.

Ac is blowing hot air. dealership confirmed the condenser was leaking and required replacement. dealership has ordered new part and advised that part is on a national back order and could not provided an estimated time of arrive for replacement part.

Major problem with my air condenser that is defective... does not work. there is a nation wide back order for this item for all gmc sierra's and nothing is being done to service the customers. it's been 3 weeks and counting now and still no answers. air condenser problem... my ac unit is not operating.

October 2016 a/c stopped working brought to dealer. dealer recharged system found leak to be a/c compressor hose and bracket needed to be replaced and not under warranty customer pay. april 2017 a/c stopped working brought to dealer. dealer recharged system found leak to be a/c condenser needs to be replaced not under warranty - customer pay. no condensers available - national back order. 50,000 miles

Air conditioning hose between condenser and compressor failed. needs a bracket to hold it. gm knows about this but has not called for recall. they charge 700.00 to fix. virtually all 2014 chevy and gm trucks are affected. i am very disappointed with gm. truck had only 60k miles.

Air conditioner not working. ac condenser has developed a leak. in doing research i discovered that this is a common problem for gm vehicles of the model and the like, but gm has also pulled all condensers from the shelves but will not do a recall to address the defective condenser.

A/c not working. been told by gm dealer that tgis problem was on a recall but our vin did not come up.

A/c stopped cooling last spring/summer. i live in louisiana so driving without a/c was not an option, especially with children and elderly parents . i was told that this was a nationwide issue due to a faulty design, but that gmc would not pay to repair it. i had to pay over $1,000 out of pocket to get this fixed. gmc needs to reimburse everyone who has had this problem.

Air conditioning went out in april 2017. dealer replaced schrader valve and reloaded refrigerant. failed again in a few days. dealer then told me gm had a design failer on air conditioning unit and did a nationwide recall of the a/c condensor. my air conditioner was not repaired until august 4, 2017 when the dealer got the a/c condensor. i not only paid $198 for the original fix, but also $350 for the final fix which i continue to monitor. all because of a design failure attributed to gm. why is this my problem and why do i have to pay?
