*takata recall * realizing my truck is one of many gm vehicles involved in a " preliminary recall" which has been procrastinated repeatedly at this point . not sure why exactly they (gm)have failed to prove otherwise to nhtsa by their given deadlines..that these specific vehicles arent affected like all the others involved. which has said to be the " largest recall in us history ".. my truck has recently (4/1/19) had the "service air bag" msg appear in the dic along with the airbag warning light illuminated. comes on and continues to stay on each and every time i start the truck until shutting it off . has continued to do this consistently every single day after 4/1/19. causing me to be even more concerned than before since my kids commute in this truck 7 days a week! i've made contact with the dealership from which i puchased the truck but can't get an appt until 4/10/19 .i also have had them tell me a time or 2 b4 that they don't have parts to fix and they currently aren't responsible for repair /replacement at this time .. so im sure i'll get the same routine speech and be sent on my way to roll the dice on whether my airbags will be suitable to do their job and worst case cause serious injury or death to me and or my family. . doesn't seem fair to us owners who spend several thousands of dollars to this manufacturer /dealerships (gm).

I have a crack on dashboard along the instrument panel side and at the passenger side airbag. i'm worried about the safety of the airbag deployment.

Takata recall the recall was posted in 2016, almost 3 years later and gmc still has no remedy? how can i feel safe with airbags they may not work properly.

My dashboard is cracking around my passenger side air bag and also around my cluster readout. it appears very brittle and i'm worried it is going to send plastic everywhere if i am ever in a situation where my air bag is deployed

Takata recall parts still not available to fix my truck dealer has not offered another means of transportation to me. i have 2 children that ride in my truck daily since it is my only transportation to work and taking them to school, sports activities, store etc. and all other places i have to have a vehicle to get to. i do not feel safe driving my truck with a huge safety issue thats been recalled for over a year now. especially with having my 2 children in the vehicle 75 %of the time . parts not being available still at this point gm should be making sure i have a safe vehicle to drive until they can fix it. the airbag light has now came on and off a few different times now.

Received safety recall on takata air bag in 07/2016. have received no further communication. called today for status and to update my mailing address since i moved from ca to ky in 01/2017. the girl i talked to stated i needed to do this through dmv. i did that in january! it's a state law! i wanted gmc to also update. she was not the least bit accommodating. also stated gm has not approved the cost of replacing the air bag. this is an urgent safety recall and a danger to me as i have to drive this vehicle. gmc is dragging its feet and putting my life in danger by not acting on a resolution (replacing the airbag) in a timely manner. time is of the essence.
