Problems with 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 AIR BAGS

Cracked dash over airbag and steering column. upper glove box is protruding out from dash warping.

Cracks around air bag in dash passenger side, sharp plastic parts could injure occupants in case of air bag deployment. this is common on most 07 gm pickups. the dealers will not repair this.. the plastic is brittle and has sharp edges.

Takata recall. this recall was initiated years ago, and i'm still driving around putting my wife at risk. inexcusable! i have a copy of the original recall - just can't find it.

Dash has cracked on passenger side where the air bag will deploy. concerned that it may affect the deployment or send shards on deployment that could injure someone. this is a safety issue! it was brought to my attention by a friend with the same model chevy and is a common issue. gm needs to replace as it's an obvious defect with their trucks.

I have a 2007 gmc sierra that i filed a complaint about before because the airbags deployed when i hit a small pothole. after gmc fixed vehicle they assured me it was safe to drive because they fixed the overly sensitive sensor. i was driving the vehicle home in september of 2010 and the side air bags deployed again. i still have vehicle while gmc decides what they should do to fix the problem . really? i hope they realize why they needed a bailout. *tr

We need to install a toddler's britax car seat in the front passenger seat of a 2007 gmc sierra truck. our truck has no way to allow us to turn off the passenger air bag. we have contacted gmc corporate headquarters and our local dealer at crown gmc in st. pete fl and they told us there is no way we can turn it off. then erica called from gmc corporate and told us it could be turned off but we needed to contact you and fill out a form. her phone number is 866-790-5600 ext 11292. please help us figure out a safe way to install the seat and authorize gmc to show us how to turn the passenger air bag off when the child car seat is in and on for when the seat is not installed and an adult passenger rides in front. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 gmc sierra 1500. while driving 30-35 mph, the air bags on the ceiling of the vehicle deployed without an impact. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for repair. the failure and current mileages were 26,146. updated 11/24/08 *cn the vehicle had an exhaust leak, the drivers side window was inoperative, the window switch and connector had melted, the heater seats didnot work, the rear tires were out of balance. updated 11/26/08. *jb

1-airbag system issue, 2-tire monitoring scan issue, 3-door lock/unlock issue, 4-check engine light issue.
