Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. when the contact purchased the vehicle, he was informed of nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v593000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 16v384000 (air bags). the dealer (sheehy ford of marlow heights, 5000 auth rd, suitland, md 20746, (800) 640-5368) was contacted to determine when the vehicle may be scheduled for the repairs. the manufacturer was contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the vehicle would receive the recall repair. the contact was not experiencing a failure. parts distribution disconnect. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Engine went to limp mode.

In lower gears / below 3500 rpm, i will occasionally experience a sudden deceleration, and then an abrupt acceleration as the vehicle attempts to make it to the commanded speed. this only occurs when the vehicle is already in motion, most often city streets, occasionally while accelerating onto a highway. i believe this creates a potentially dangerous situation, as a driver may not have the full, consistent acceleration that he expects to have. this issue began shortly after receiving "check fuel filter" codes, due to a poorly designed inner gas cap gasket, which allows for contamination to obstruct the easy fill system's inner seal. i believe this may also be related to an issue with a throttle body controller, similar to the many ford products and customers whom have submitted prior complaints. not sure why those throttle body controllers didn't get a recall, the problem is common enough and the potential damage substantial.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while at a stop, the vehicle jerked and tended to surge. the contact stated that the same failure occurred when the fuel tank was full. the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the failures recurred several times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (delehanty ford in flushing, mi) where it was diagnosed that the purge valve and the charcoal canister needed to be replaced. the technician stated that the purge valve caused fuel to leak into the charcoal canister. the dealer stated that the failure was repaired in 2015 per an unknown recall and the contact would be responsible for any future repairs. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and agreed with the dealer. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin search showed one open recall: nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the failure mileage was approximately 157,000. parts distribution disconnect.

Driving locally, wrench and engine lights came on suddenly. when i got short ways to store, turned engine off and restarted, lights gone - thought it was a fluke. proceed to drive home to contact ford, both lights come on again, car begins declerating with no warning, no action on accelerator, car slows (i didn't know this was called limping) and i pulled of highway and get to parking lot. car towed to ford dealer. i had no clue what problem was replaced electronic throttle body car is 7 years old, only 43,700 miles. afraid to drive car as this can happen again - what if i'm in heavy traffic at high speeds. can't believe ford was able to avoid a recall --- this is a very dangerous problem!!!!

Tamara recall! my cars engine light keeps coming on and the machine says it's a evap leak through the fuel neck. and there is two recalls on my car

Purchased used 8/1/14, was not informed of any recalls or issues by dealership. april 2017 after learning by searching on google that there was a recall on fuel tank/system. spoke with ford corp. which emailed the recall process step by step, was influenced to mention the throttle body which was covered under ext. warranty. took to dealer in tucson, az jim click ford. after 3 hours of possessing vehicle i received information that fuel tank/ system and throttle body were not affected and no work was required and even after agreement by ford corp. and the sales rep. that no diagnostics fee would be charged. i spent 3 hours arguing that it was covered by warranty and recall. found out later throttle body is recalled issue, that's why ext. warranty. issues with fuel/ air intake required inspecting throttle body. discovered extensive carbon build up and the fuel tank had evidence of rusting. jim click ford of tucson damaged vehicle from driver side to pass. side in center of vehicle including main frame. changes to the sync and computer became noticeable due to upgraded options that had never been usable. ignition switch had been removed and replaced with cheap rubber, lighting no longer existed( light for on/off, acc), was told spark plugs and boots needed to be replaced and they had begun work (without permission). later that week plugs had been pulled nd inspected, only one plug was no good (had them replaced in december by close family friend who owns mechanic shop 40+ years. employees left box of approx 50 new jim click coffee mugs, foot prints on passenger door, stole debit card, threw girlfriends underwear and bras out of bag and spread out in trunk.

When accelerating into traffic the engine shuts off leaving me crossed opposed traffic. will usually start right away after. car has to be in park to restart. on occasion the security light flashes and will not restart without locking and unlocking the car. performing this action while blocking traffic (in both directions) can't be safe in any way. the car also dies at speed even when the cruise has been set for over a hour. help please. thanks [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*jb

My car has a capless fuel system but my check engine light keeps illuminating after i fuel up and stays on. i have had the code that appears tested and always comes back as a "missing or loose gas cap " which clearly is immpossible since it does not require one, when i called my ford dealership they informed me that they are aware of a problem with it but would cost $700-1000 to fix the issue and ford will not issue a recall. it's alarming that my check engine light stays on for a silly problem and have no way of telling if something else is going on with the cr since the light is always on. i should not have to pay up to $1,000 for a ford faulty system

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that the vehicle suddenly stalled without warning while driving various speeds. the contact was able to restart the vehicle and it functioned appropriately. the contact took the vehicle to the turnpike ford dealer where the nozzle was cleaned; however, the failure recurred. the dealer was contacted again and stated that cleaning the nozzle was the only remedy. the contact stated that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the remedy was not performed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. the contact mentioned that the check engine indicator illuminated 90 days after the recall repair. the vehicle error code was in reference to the canister purge valve. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

I noticed today there is a ford recall for 2012 through 2018 ford focus for a faulty part that could lead to engine stalls. the recall states a malfunctioning valve that could result in inaccurate fuel level readings and potentially engine stalls or an inability to restart the vehicle. this is exactly what i have been experiencing in my 2010 ford fusion. while i am driving and start to slow down at a stop sign or to turn the corner the engine stalls and jerks and then it goes away until the next time i slow down or turn. i believe this to be the same situation as the current recall for the ford focus.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving, the check engine sensor warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank had failed causing fuel to leak out. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact mentioned that in october of 2016, the vehicle was inspected under nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system). the manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system) due to the previous inspection performed. the contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 105,000......updated 03/08/17 *bf *cn

Recall 15s34 fuel tank and purge valve inspection: i received a notice for recall and i delivered my vehicle for inspection on february 20, 2016. ford replaced my purge valve because it had failed. my paperwork shows the inspection was completed prior to 0830.the problem is i began to smell gas a few months later. the smell became worse and i returned my vehicle to ford on november 28, 2016 for inspection. ford said my tank is cracked and need replacement. i asked ford to cover the cost of the tank replacement and they refused. i believe ford should cover this cost due to condition of the tank. the tank's crack was caused by internal pressure (see photos). i don't believe the tank was properly inspected. i don't believe the ford dealer could have tested the system and replaced the purge valve and dropped the tank and tested the system in one hour. note: the dealer opens at 0730 on saturdays and the invoice shows the dealer completed everything at 0829. invoice does not show the dealer using a gasket after tank inspection. please help me recover the cost of the tank replacement.

Had a ford dealership perform recall inspection of safety recall 15s34, they replaced fuel tank and said they checked the purge valve, 3 months later my gas tank imploded due to malfunction of the purge valve , i was driving 55 miles per hr. it is very serious fire safety hazard, no warning light came on to identify a problem, fuel leaking all around the gas tank, suppose to be a warranty of 12 months/12,000 miles. now i am told there are multiple reports for other vehicles with the same problem. why haven't the purge valves been recalled? *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving approximately 55 mph, a loud noise emitted from the vehicle without warning. the contact pulled over and discovered that fuel leaked continuously from underneath the vehicle. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the fuel tank was replaced and the recall repair was performed; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was towed back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

I have called the dealer 2 xs now and neither time have they had the part that needs to be fixed from the recall. i also just found out that there is a 2nd recall on my vehicle. i would like a new vehicle- a trade in asap. as one of these can result in death and my children are at risk.

Gasoline smell inside car. poor gas mileage. smell is there while in motion.

It's the recall with the throttle body. i've taken car back 3 times already. first they replace purge valve. then light came back on and car was jumping forward. now this is 3rd time light back on and now they won't fix car unless i pay. they said it's all a part of the same system but i need to pay for a leak that is coming from filter neck. so i left. i shouldn't have to pay for this. this is a recall. does this qualify under lemon law? this car scares me to drive. drive with both foot on gas and brakes.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 16v384000 (air bags) and another one for the fuel system. the parts for the recall repairs were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. the contact had not experienced a failure. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the nhtsa campaign number for the fuel system was unknown. vin tool confirms parts not available.

I received a recall on the fuel system of my 2010 fusion. i took my car to the dealership in april 2016. they inspected the system and said everything was fine. no parts were replaced. a few months later, my check engine light came on, indicating that there was a problem with my fuel system. the recall was on the canister purge valve, which is the exact part that needs to now be replaced. i returned to the same dealership and asked what they were going to do to fix it. they said that they could no longer fix this problem under the recall because they had previously inspected it, and it was fine. this is not a problem that should occur on relatively new cars, and ford has already admitted to putting in faulty canister purge valves. i contacted ford customer service and hit another dead end. both claim there is nothing that can be done because it is not an "open recall". i am filing this complaint because it should be an open recall. just because a crack had not formed in april, doesn't mean that the exact problem that could cause a crack to form didn't exist then. the dealership missed the problem, and now ford is not being held accountable for their mistake in manufacturing.

Several months ago, in the middle of a busy intersection, my car unexpectedly shook and went to "limp" mode in the middle of a busy intersection with the wrench light coming on. i pulled into the closest driveway after putting on my hazards and, after turning off the engine, restarted the car, which took about about 5 seconds of trying to turn over the ignition. since that time, the same problem has happened at least two dozen times, sometimes several times in a row; and the rest of the time, the rpms flutter in an irregular way. i do mostly city driving and have thankfully been able to avoid an accident when having to pull over and restart; but in each case, it is not a good situation. by all accounts online, this is a very frequent problem and due to a faulty throttle body. notably, the problem with my car began to occur at around 45,000 miles, which is typical from what i've read of other complaints. this seems much too early, much too common, and much too dangerous of a problem for it not to be covered under an extended warranty or recall. there was, in fact, an extended warranty, but it expired in early 2015. i was told by the local dealer that it would cost $600 to repair.

While in motion driving at highway speeds, the vehicle's engine stopped responding to the accelerator. the wrench and battery lights came on and the car lost drive and electrical power (no power brakes or power steering). after rolling to a stop, the car could be restarted following a few minute pause. this has happened three times

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle hesitated when started. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve (cpv) needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was also taken to billy howell ford lincoln (1805 atlanta hwy, cumming, ga 30040, (770) 887-2311) where it was inspected per nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline) in august of 2016. at that time, the contact was informed that no leaks were found on the cpv fuel tank. the contact called the dealer again, but was offered no assistance since the vehicle was previously inspected under the recall. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

I received the ford safety recall regarding the fuel system surface crack/leak, in january 2016. in february, i took the car to the dealership and was advised i could not drive it off the lot due to an active leak. they kept my car and have provided me with a loner for the past 6 months while i have waiting for them to perform the safety recall repair. i received a call today (8/8/16) that my car might be ready by 8/12/16. they will call and let me know on 8/10/16. the problem is, i have had to move out of state for work since february, and i will not be able to physically return to michigan until 8/22/16. it is a 16-hour round trip for me to return the rental to the dealership, and they are telling me i have to be there because they will no longer pay for the rental after 8/10/16. i called the ford recall department directly and was told i have to work that out with the dealership. so in my current situation, i am going to be penalized with paying for a rental car for 12 days. this is a rental car i don't want and am only driving because of ford's recall. so due to ford's recall i will have to spend an additional $500 for this rental. they have made me wait 6 months, but they can't wait 12 days. it isn't right that i am going to have to spend money due something that is ford's fault. i would like ford to continue paying my rental until 8/22/16 or to ship my ford fusion to me in kentucky when it is repaired. my car is currently being repaired at imlay city ford in imlay city, mi

When at a stop it stops running. the idle speed drops and fluctuates. it is stalling when stopped. wrench light came on and lasted 20 miles and then went off.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact received a recall notification for the fuel system, gasoline; however, the part for the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the contact stated that the vehicle would leak fuel. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the nhtsa campaign number was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 102,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the remedy required the vehicle to have some test performed in order to determine if the remedy was necessary. at the time of the testing, the contact's vehicle was deemed fair, which meant a recall replacement repair was not necessary. shortly after having the vehicle tested, the contact began to smell a fuel odor emitting from the vehicle and noticed fuel leaking from the vehicle. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced, as indicated in the recall. the contact was informed that the repair would not be covered under the recall due to the vehicle passing the previous test. the contact stated that the vehicle was emitting a fuel odor prior to the recall testing. the manufacturer opened case number: 12281400. the approximate failure mileage was 166,000.

My son was driving on the interstate when all of a sudden the car lost power and he could not accelerate. he had to cross lanes to pull over to the shoulder. turned the car off and then restarted. car ran okay. i called ford after this happened twice. they informed me that the car was over the mileage allowed and was not covered. they said they sent out a csp#13n03. i did not receive this letter. i think that this should be a safety recall and not just a bulletin. he almost got hit both times when this happened.

I have multiple items that have come about all of a sudden over the last month or two for no apparent reason. 1.) fuel fill inlet message has appeared on the dash, along with the check engine light. 2.) driver side door handle just stopped working. 3.) the air conditioner has intermittently stopped working. cool air comes and goes, and from the outside of the car it seems the fan stays on all the time.

Throttle body failure. a known high failure item which ford has ignored. car went into limp mode while on the freeway at 75 mph, able to maintain 40 mph with barricades preventing getting to a safe location. this is a safety issue! at a minimum ford should notify all owners this is an issue very likely to happen and should be inspected by ford. the service writer knew exactly what it was when i dropped the car off, seen it many times.

While driving at highway speeds my vehicle lost power (i.e. the engine and electronics stayed active, however my accelerator no longer was operable). i coasted to the side of the road and my engine began to operate in a rough manner. i also noticed that my rpm indicator was bouncing erratically from low to about half way along the dial. my check engine light also illuminated. i shut the vehicle down and immediately turned it back on and operation was restored.

My 2010 ford fusion suddenly lost power when accelerating to get on the highway. it was during a busy time and was very dangerous. the car went to limp mode. i took the car to the dealer and they told me it was not covered by the extended warranty i have. they did acknowledge that this was a common issue, so much that the tech knew the part number off the top of his head.

Throttle body being replaced again. in june 2014, as part of the recall, the throttle body was replaced. on may 24, 2016 the car started decelerating and then suddenly accelerating while driving on a city street at about 40 mph. then the orange wrench light came on. i went to dealer on may 26, 2016 and they diagnosed the throttle body as defective. replacement is covered under the 10 year 100,000 mile extended warranty that ford agreed to with the nhtsa. now i'm wondering if the throttle body will be a recurring problem and hasn't really been fixed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact mentioned that the vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 111,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that the vehicle emitted a fuel odor and the check engine indicator illuminated. the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who located failure code: p0453 (evaporated emission system pressure sensor switch high input). the contact also performed a diagnostic himself, which located the same failure code. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer and dealer were not contacted. the failure mileage was 93,000.

Stalls in traffic, goes into "limp" mode or shuts down completely. google says etb problem that describes the issue exactly.

Veh. recall on fuel tank. ford recall # 15s34 car kept by dealership 3/23/16. there is no return date for the completion of repair.possibly 8/16 but cannot verify when the parts will be in. there are no parts available right now. possibly their third quarter (they say). looking for "reasonable" time from from ford for repair. or definition of "reasonable" to decide how to proceed.

Nhtsa recall 15v-793 i have contacted my local dealer numerous times to perform this required service but dealer claims that since january 2016 that parts are unavailable. service manager claims no one has had the issue of the recall fixed.i think that the problem of cracked gas tanks is pretty serious. i will not park car in garage for fear of fire. there seems to be no effort on fords part to correct this serious issue. there is no known date to have parts available. it's real sad as a consumer to have a faulty vehicle knowing a fire or worse, an explosion may occur. i was told if i should smell gas to park the vehicle. if that occurs i now have a useless vehicle with no parts to fix????? are you kidding me??? i was told to check back next month. come on !!! this is rediculous.these auto manufacturers need your agency to lean on them to expedite and support these recalls in a timely fashion. ........especially one that involves fuel?! geez. .........

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the part to do the repair was not available. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the driveshaft, solenoid, and motor mount were damaged due to a fuel leak. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 120,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. after refueling the vehicle, there was an abnormally strong fuel odor inside the vehicle. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the first dealer performed a routine maintenance check in addition to the recall repair. when the service engine warning light illuminated, they cleared the code. the contact was unable to determine if the dealer performed a leak test on the canister purge valve (cpv). the dealer did not remedy the recall. after the dealer allegedly completed the recall repair, the contact was driving and the service engine light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a second dealer for further inspection. the manufacturer was notified of the failures and refused to provide any further coverage to repair the vehicle. the contact was unable to determine if the manufacturer would remedy the failure and was uncertain if the vehicle was safe to drive. prior to the repair, the only failure experienced was the service engine light randomly flashing. the approximate failure mileage was 107,168.

1st time, i was stopped at a red light after driving 50 miles when the light turned green, i stepped on the gas, the car rev'd like the car was in neutral and would not go into gear. after several tries, it went into gear and drove ok. the 2nd time, i was traveling about 60 mph, and the car started reving at 4,000 rpms and lost all power. i pulled over, put it in neutral and back in gear several times till it started again. i pulled out again on the 4 lane and the car continued reving at around 4,000 rpms and had no power so i got off the road again. the "wrench" trouble light lit up. i turned the car off, sat about 5 minutes, started it back up and it worked fine. i took it straight to a ford dealer who could not find out what was wrong with it.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline) and stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to receive the recall repair. the dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. the dealer scheduled a recall appointment and mentioned that it would take less than an hour for the repair. the contact arrived back to the dealer who stated that it may be longer than two months for the part to become available. the manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the vehicle would receive the recall repair. the contact was not experiencing a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Took car in for safety recall number 15534. due to myself and family noticing a gas smell in my car all the time. took to ford dealership, they examined and a crack was noted and corrosion of my fuel tank. was told they could not release the car back to me. i would be without my car for approx. 10 months. they are providing me with rentals, however, have to trade in every month. contacted ford corp. to ask for assistance to assist with possibly trading my vehicle in and purchase another from ford. they told me "sorry, there is nothing that we will do. you just have to wait for the part to be available." i am still paying for my car, however, it will be sitting at a ford dealership for atleast 10 months. can forward actual car report from ford dealership, if needed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving at any speed, the steering wheel seized and was extremely difficult to turn. in addition, the service engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a repair shop. the cause of the failure was unable to be diagnosed. the contact was advised to check with the manufacturer for diagnostic testing. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline), but was unable to determine when the part would become available to receive the recall remedy. the contact was waiting on the manufacturer to supply the part to the dealer to receive the recall repair. the failure mileage was not available. vin tool confirms parts not available.

My vehicle went into limp mode while traveling 60 mph on the highway. i was able to stay under control and pull to the side of the road momentarily. when i arrived home my obd-ii reader revealed code p2111 throttle body stuck open. i contacted ford and my vin does not fall under the customer satisfaction program 13n03 however it is obvious that these are the exact same symptoms the program is supposed to cover.

Takata recall my air bag sensor light came on air bags never deployed in my vehicle in an accident i was in in june of 16.i purchased this vehicle with multiple issues the dealership that sold me the car new it was under recall and never fixed the car.it was in and out of shop for abs,gas leak, accelerating by itself now i've burned up 3 calipers keep burning break pads gas is never accurate and there's no light but it still pulls code for abs, also it went in for factory recall and recall was never performed.more than fed up and sick of spending my $.

Takata recall - recall received - 2 yrs. later no resolution. fear of driving car. only comfortable driving close to home. 10 yr old vehicle with only 35,000 miles on it. feel this car should be re-purchased by dealer since they do not seem to care about the safety factor. have aleady had to have throttle body replaced due to car just stopping when being driven at highway speeds. recall on possible leaking gas tank. almost 2 years - no resolution. would you like to drive this piece of crap on the highway?????
