It is the typical throttle body issue everyone else is complaining about. it would randomly stall completely out on the main road. occasionally, i could turn off the car and then turn it back on and it would drive me a few more miles before stalling out again. car would randomly accelerate while applying the brakes. car would violently "jump" like it was missing gears while accelerating. almost impossible to accelerate speed without putting my foot to the floor. i bought a new throttle body for about $400 i think in september 2012 and within a year it was already doing the same things mentioned above. i just received an extended warranty from ford in the mail and will get a refund for my previous expense on a new throttle body. it pretty much seems like a recall but without actually saying it is. i don't know if there is any further action that can be taken but if so then please do. this is a dangerous car with a short shelf life. i almost got blasted from my side twice because i would be turning off a 4 lane route with plenty of distance from oncoming traffic and the car would stall. i was basically a sitting duck sideways hoping it would roll me fast enough to get out of the way. i hope this helps. *tr

Parking brake freezes in snowy weather when applied making it impossible to release. reported to dealer while under warranty and they said they "fixed" it but it still freezes. only way to free it is to drive and cause heat build up free the brake. this causes a safety hazard in snowy conditions because only one rear wheel is locked down which will cause the car to skid sideways while trying to get the brake released. this has happened on numerous occasions and now i just don't use the brake which causes another safety issue when parking on hills.

When the weather gets below freezing the parking brake freezes - you can release the parking brake with the parking brake handle and the parking brake warning light goes off but the parking brake stays engaged with the driver unknowing that the parking brake did not release. when this happens the driver is not aware of the parking brake being engaged until the brakes get so hot that smoke begins to pour from the rear wheels with the possibility of this causing a fire from all the heat. also when the parking brake does not release and you apply the brakes while driving the vehicle the brakes do not respond the same as when they are applied under normal driving conditions. this problem has been occurring every time the weather gets below freezing since the vehicle was bought new and the defect has been reported to the local ford service department numerous times with them making an effort to correct this defect but it has not helped and the problem still exist. this vehicle is in north alabama where the weather gets cold but not in an area in the northern states where the weather is much colder. this problem happened again this morning and the low temperature for the night was 30 degree f and it has not rained in over a week. i own three other vehicles that are parked in the same area as this vehicle that do not have any problem as with this vehicle. *tr
