Started in 2015 transmission shuddered/vibrated/hesitation on highway, lack of power, car would jerk like i had been it on highway, onboard computer was re programed in october of 15 and again in jan of 17. car is not storing computer codes when it acts up. on 7/17/18 the check engine light comes on i called dealer got an appointment for 7/17/18, check engine light had gone off before the dealer saw the car, and the on board computer did not store a code for them to figure it out. when i left the dealer i did not get a block when the check engine light came back on and the car started jerking, i pulled into a parking lot to turn around and go back to the dealer however the car would not go into reverse, i tried a half dozen time to back up including turning off the engine. the car next to me left and i was able to make a u turn, by the time i got back to the dealer they were closed. i brought the car back the next morning they were able to retrieve to code and replace the transmission control module. in august of 18 one day leaving the gas station when i put the car into drive all it did was rev the engine another time when i backed out of my parking place and tried to drive away it would not go into drive. this happened again in december. lately i have a problem where the engine will rev up while driving on the highway, it usually is only for a few seconds. the rpm's would double when this happened. on 12/7/18 this happened again, however i had to take my foot of the accelerator in order for the engine to stop the revving. the revving of the engine is not on specific dates, however happens once or twice a week usually on the highway.

While driving on a highway my vehicle 2014 ford focus se began to sputter. continues to do so until i got in the street on my home and began going under 10 mph. once i entered my home to put some items down before returning back out, i attempted to start my car. i noticed upon entry of my vehicle that my radio was on without my keys being in the ignition, also my driver door was still open. i attempted to start my vehicle but nothing happened, it didn't tick nor turn. what did happen though was my entire computer system began to cut on as if the vehicle had started and turned. radio on, dashboard lights present and then cut off, alert for my low tire, trip timer began running. then an error code regarding something in the lines of fuel. wasn't quick enough to take a picture of the error message. when i removed my key and called my sister to inform her that i may need a ride for myself and my 6 year old daughter, the dashboard needles jumped vigorously. while sitting. in the vehicle again, the computer system opened up and my trip timer began running and the radio. again without the keys in the ignition, they were in my lap. the entire night while my vehicle was stationary periodically my car would cut in and off, and engage without the keys in the ignition nor present near he car. consequently, the constant running of the vehicle by it self ran the battery dead as well. attempted to contact the ford dealership, where i purchased the vehicle, and check service and the technician was very rude and continuously interrupted me. when questioning regarding and open recall, 18s32, and mentioning that not only did i call the nthsa number but i also read the recall regarding my vehicle serviceman became even more rude and even disconnected the call.

Our well maintained 4 year old fusion with 1.6l ecoboost, started making noise, engine completely died while driving on city street, smoke came pouring out. ford determined crack in engine by cylinder head to be the cause. ford informed us our vehicle was not involved in a recall, and over warranty miles (80k). we have researched and learned of the 1.6l ecoboost engine recalls because of risk of cracked cylinder head/engine. our local sm told us ford was likely to cover all but $700 of the repair, then the next day informed us ford would only agree to pay 1400 toward new engine, with us responsible for the remaining cost. ford refused covering our rental. we have been without the vehicle for nearly 3 weeks now

This car suffers from the powershift transmission issue that causes dangerous jerking and acceleration issues. i have contacted ford regarding this and they state this car is not covered under the extended warranty and i have to pay for the repairs myself which will run 2k. this car was just purchased used 3 months ago and is dangerous. how this car does not fall under the extended warranty, i don't understand.

Takata recall amongst the known recalls, is a lot of unsaid issues with this vehicle. it started with the tcm. when i had the dealer fix it, the codes were showing ok but the vehicle continued to display the same issues when trying to accelerate. for some reason when driving, it seems as if i'm driving a manual vehicle instead of a automatic. the clutch is giving me problems. it tend to get stuck in the hill assist mode. a few weeks ago my car just died. it seemed to be the battery. when replaced it was ok for a day or so. i had it checked to see if my alternator was bad. it both places stayed it was fine. periodically it would stop. it didn't seem like there where any determining factors on when (like cold or hot weather). so i drove it less. one day when driving, going 46 mph, it just shut down. the screen showed 'not in park', starting system fault and it would not allow me to place the vehicle in neutral. it then began to start and stop whenever. the grounds were checked, the starter, the alternator, the fuse and orhers. my horn would sometimes go out for days, up to weeks. when trying to start the car, it would eventually flash 'normal mode'. it's so many things going on here! i fear all the time with this car. when the tcm started acting up, it stopped while driving too. i'm a mother of 5, i've has this car for 4 years as for the past 2yrs i've been living in fear of my children and i dying in this car. i've spent more money buying rentals and having others assist with transportation when this car acts up, i could've paid half of my last 2yrs off. this is not fair because everyone doesn't have the ability to just get up a go trade in a car or walk away. i've been having different problems for over 2 yrs now but when it shut off while driving on the highway, it was in the beginning of september 2018 (this month) it got worst and i had it towed to the dealer.

Hello, i'm seeking help from your department as i am an owner of a ford 2014 focus. i've had three transmission/clutch replacements after purchasing the car brand new in 2014. usually the car becomes unstable/jerky when driving which signalled a clutch replacement. however over the past two months after two more clutch replacements the transmission/engine ceased while driving in towson md inner city streets. the first being exactly over two weeks ago and which a new clutch was installed. i picked up the vehicle and two days later called the delearship stating it is still not driving right. i could feel something was wrong. i noticed sudden jerks and what seemed like the transmission was wearing off again. i was informed by the service person mike mazor that this is normal and the adaptive systems will have to get used to my driving pattern and to give it 1000 miles. i expressed my concern that something needs to be done because the vehicle felt unsafe to drive. two days later while traveling on interstate route 40, the car suddenly decelerated, made a loud roaring sound and when i pushed on the pedal it seemed as if it was on neutral and did not want to move. all i heard was the engine rerve. extremely panicked and scared i quickly moved over to the yellow line without causing an accident or injuring myself. i had the car towed to the delearship closeby as i felt very unsafe driving any further. i was informed today by alpacker ford that they worked on the vehicle and the engine light is no longer on, the car runs just fine. they will be doing one more test tomorrow to see if they can replicate the problem. i'm totally baffled as to how the engine light turned off or why they can't find the issue. i'm afraid this car is going to cause a terrible accident if i keep driving and and pleading help from your department to get ford to find the fault and fix urgently.

Car shut off completely while moving 25 miles an hour on a local street.. battery was functioning perfectly. when looked at by the dealer was told starter motor was dead, this also later confirmed by repair technician at another facility (riverside service). starter motor would not have had anything to do with the vehicle shutting off completely while in motion. at the same time starter motor was replaced, 2 ignition coils were identified as failed or failing. in the last 9 months a total of 4 ignition coils have failed. ford has not identified the problem with the vehicle, merely replaced broken parts. they have not addressed in any way the dangerous condition posed by my car's stalling on an active roadway.

Have a 2014 ford focus has many recall now transmission went out and it's in shop.

Takata inflators. this car was unsafe to drive, when you get to a red light, the car jerked you ,when you place your feet on the brakes. then when you press the accelerator to go it jerk back and pulled you forward. changing geers would hard to shift and sometimes stick. the engine light would come on, the car was taken to ford dealership 3 times and tested, they never fixed the problem. i almost crased at the stop sign trying to stop, the brakes got stuck. i had the car for one month, and filled a lemmon law complaint on line, and they insisted i had to wait a period of time, because i just purchased the car. after the 3rd, time visting the ford repair shop, in one month time, i was disappointed and where i bought the car from at a kia dealership, they would not give me my money back , only offered to trade the ford focus in back to them and buy a kia car from them, i loss my down payment, and got stuck with a roll over fee of 4,500 from the remaining balance of the ford fusion added on to the new kia. and a higher car payment. they sold e a lemon, and had a warranty and still refuse to fix the car. the transmission was bad and they sold the ford to the auction to get it off their hands. i was stalled for 30 days believing they would fix the car, the lemon law couldn't help me after i faxed all the papers to them. the ford focus was on the recall list, and i don't have the car now, is there anyway i can get credited for the $4.500 in a law suit for buying the ford under warranty and they refuse to fix the car right.

We're just now finding out that there was a recall on our car that causes it to stall out while driving and now are cars in the shop and there are saying ithat the engine needs to be replaced, we where on a highway going at about 60-70 mph at the most we heard a bang come from the engine and a cloud of smoke pourd out from behind us, t

Vehicle transmission will not shift promptly, rpm's rev over 3 to 4 rpm's before shifting casing jerking, shuddering, jolt car backwards coming to a slow and steady stop. red warning lights on dash console indicating emergency problem & unsafe to drive.

My car is not able to drive in reverse. it is not able to go over 40 miles per hour. it does a jerking while changing gears. it also do this while in park with key in and with key out. it is currently at ford for repairs and they are stating it does not have a recall on this model. i called yesterday and emailed to explained the issue and they stated it was on the list. now they are stating it is over $2000 to fix.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. the contact stated that the vehicle accelerated and jerked when engaged in the park position. in addition, the check engine indicator illuminated. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was taken to sawgrass ford (14501 w sunrise blvd, sunrise, fl 33323, 954-851-9000), but the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the power clutch was replaced. the failure recurred and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer; however, the failure was unable to be duplicated or diagnosed. the vehicle continued to accelerate and jerk. the vehicle was towed back to the dealer and the power shifter was replaced, but the failure occurred the next day. the vehicle was towed back to the dealer. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures and offered to buy-back the vehicle as a down payment for a new vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

When i drive my vehicle, i believe the transmission is having problems with shifting gears. it shakes really bad when i'm getting up to 20 mph then it some what stops. the car will ideal real loud or the rpms will go up high for no reason when i'm at a stop. sometimes the rpms will go up high when i'm on cruse control as if i'm pressing the gas down (fast and all the way to the ground) but i am not.

Car shakes violently and jerks when accelerating, car has been repaired twice before for this problem, once at 29000 miles, 2nd time at 38000 and now doing it at 62000.

Vacuum seal on gas tank is faulty and gets air bubbles and the car cuts off at random. it cut off in the middle of an intersection yesterday and i almost got hit. i've reported this issue multiple times. several other ones were recalled but not my vin number but it's the exact same issue.

My 2014 ford focus engine dies when it rains. it started to run rough when it rained about a year ago and then the engine died going 55 mph when it was raining. had engine wire replaced and it was fine for a week or so while it was dry. 1st time it rained it died again going 50mph. took it in again and had cylinder and computer box replaced (crazy only 4 years old). ran fine again until it rained and it died again while driving on highway. when it dies you are put in a very bad situation. someone could definitely die. i give up. it is sitting in our driveway because we put $800 into it getting fixed and so far no luck. if i knew it could be fixed i would take it in. the car does not restart when it gets dry out again. i try jumping it and fuse 38 blows every time. is there a recall on this? it is a very scary problem and i see this has happened to multiple people on the web.

When i come to a stop after doing freeway speeds 70-75 mph for 30 minutes it gives me a high temp warning. when i stopped to check under the hood it didn't look, or smell hot, but the warning light indicated high temp in the engine.

Extreme stalling problems driving on freeway and going on inclines. car has heavy jerking at stop and go speeds. transmission light came on asking to pull over and wait 6 minutes for overheating. 3 times in less than a year car has been to the shop

I bought my first brand new car a 2014 ford focus. i decided to go with a new car to have less problems in the long run. boy was i wrong. after only 25000 miles my car began having transmission problems. i then brought it into the dealership and found out that ford had issued a recall on the transmission module. so i had that replaced free of charge. my car now has 45000 miles on it and it began causing me problems again, so i thought it was the same thing as before. i brought it into the dealership to have it checked out. after a day of waiting i received a call entailing all that was wrong with my car. this time it as much worse, my catalytic converter needed to be replaced which i was told this was covered by my warranty. now the next part i was told is the reason i am here writing this compliant. the dealership told me that my fuel tank had collapsed, and it was going to cost me upwards of $2100 to be fixed. so i then asked the question, what caused this to happen? i was told that this is a rare occurrence and there was nothing i could have done to prevent it. now keep in mind i change my oil every 3000 miles and do all the normal maintenance to keep any car running smoothly. i began to research collapsed fuel tanks in 2014 ford focuses, and i found that this not a rare occurrence and in fact it has happened to quite a few people. i hope this is found and read by corporate ford, so a recall can be initiated and i can be compensated.

The first incidence (2/26/18) was while stopped on a highway off-ramp, the engine stalled. the car was able to be restarted and driven. on a second occasion (2/28/18), i was driving and in motion on a residential street when the engine shut off. the brakes and steering was not affected and i was able to stop the car and restart the engine. prior to this, the check engine light came on and i had scheduled service on the car for 3/7/18 (the earliest they had available). the car has had multiple transmission replacements in the few short years that i have owned it.

I have a 2014 ford focus that is currently having transmission issues. i took my vehicle to a ford dealership hoping it was under warranty and that they would fix it. they told me that my vehicle is not under warranty since it was built in november of 2013 and that 14m01 only applies to those that have cars built before july 3, 2013. my issue with that is that ford noted that "vehicles having a build date of june 6, 2013 or later have improved transmission input shaft seals that are not likely to experience leaks." obviously their "improved transmission input shaft seals" are not improved since my car with 60,000 un abused miles has encountered transmission issues. i would just like to see what my legal options are with this lawsuit as i don't think its right my vehicle is not eligible for this lawsuit. i believe that ford never improved their input shaft seals since i encountered the same problem that was recalled.

Driving my 2014 focus engine shut down ,pulled over to the shoulder of road in snow storm ,all most hit by tractor /trailer ,this was on i- 376 in pa ,after few minutes car started then stalled again , then car started and was able to continue on

When pressing on the gas vehicle hesitates before jerking forward. when placing the vehicle from park to reverse, vehicle will not engage/move in reverse. constant problems with vehicle while trying to begin driving or while trying to operate basic functions on a daily basis. this needs to be added to the extended warranty/recall for the transmission.

The capless gas tank is trapping air, causing the car to "burp" and sometimes turning engine off even when driving. this has happened numerous times in the last 8 months. but more frequently lately. i was driving down the interstate and my engine cut off from it. went to get it checked out and the service centers keep giving me the same response everywhere.

My 2014 ford focus transmission gets hot and is not changing gear while driving after i got it from the ford dealer service center in ga 01/2018. it won't start because the transmission gets hot so i have to let it cool down before i can crank it. it cuts off while i'm driving. i have bought a front and rear dash cam to record and upload live video and an additional cam to for dashboard to show the red (i) light and engine light that remains on while i'm driving. i had a new battery, tcm module, clutch and clutch motor put on 12/2017, but i can't drive the car, it won't back up hills, it looses speed, don't change gears, again, i just got it out the shop!!! i have to drive it because it is the only transportation i have, so i am videoing every trip in case the whilethe car is jumping gear or transmission gets hot and car turn off while i'm driving , i can have an accurate account of an accident due to the transmission issue i am having with. i hope that the overheating doesn't cause a fire, but, if that happens,it would be recorded on my dashcam and i will post in social media.

The dual-clutch transmission in many ford products has issues. the cars often slam into gear or feel like they are slipping.

I have had absolutely nothing but problems with this car. haven't been able to drive it for two years because it's problem after problem. first the transmission went out and we spent 3000 to fix it just for it to get home and start knocking in the engine. now the car won't even turn over or even turn on. i've heard of so many recalls on this car and it's extremely unsafe and i'm too scared to even take it back in to fix it further because i do not feel safe driving this car. i've contacted ford multiple times with absolutely no help. no one should buy this car at all.
