Front tires begin to "wobble & shake" violently of speeds above 60 mph.

Truck started experiencing severe front end oscillations at 70 mph when one tire passes over an expansion joint. or other seemingly insignificant bumps. this first happened when i had about 17k miles on the truck. took it to the ford dealer on 12/19/2017 and got it back on 1/12/2018. ford dealer could not identify any specific cause for the wobble. problem is repeatable on a specific bridge in fond du lac, wi. i took the ford service manager and technician on a ride to witness it on 3/16/18 when it occurred 3 times on the bridge in one day. i have also recorded the event on video and shared it with ford. i would attach it to this complaint but it exceeds the 5m size limit. after repairs the truck was ok until 2/17/2019 when i took it back to the dealer for the wobble. parts were ordered and installed on 3/1/2019 when truck had 28k miles on it. the truck was returned to the dealer on 4/10/2019 when the problem returned with 29k miles on it. the truck drove without incident until 2/3/2020 when the wobble reappeared with 35.3k miles on it. it is scheduled for service on 2/10/2020. this is a known defect at ford and the truck should be recalled. it is a safety hazard. i've been fortunate that this "death wobble" hasn't yet occurred while towing my 5th wheel rv (for which i purchased the truck).

Death wobble.. when driving at speeds of 65 to 70 on highway if you hit any kind of bridge or bump in road the vehicle shakes violently like a wheel has fallen off.. you have to come down to 20mph or stop to regain control.. i have only 19000 miles on my truck and this has happened 4 times now.. this is going to kill some one needs fixed.. have had it to dealership 3 times on my way for 4 th today . i bought a new truck to feel safe and i am afraid to drive it now.

Excessive wheel bounce.

At approx. 7k miles, front tires seemed out of balance. i took the vehicle in to authorized service dealer and they had trouble balancing front wheels and had to balance more than once. at approx. 40k miles the steering wheel and front end began to shake violently when driving over a bump/pothole at speeds of 60 mph and over on highway. the only way to stop the shaking cycle is to slow down to approx. 35 mph. the truck currently has 58k miles and begins the shaking, intermittently, at speeds of 62 mph and greater on highway. i recently took the vehicle to the same authorized dealer and the mechanic's recommendation was to replace the tires and install wheel cams, which are not parts currently on the vehicle from the factory. none of this recommended work or diagnosis was covered by ford.

My f-250 has some terrible steering issues when i hit a bump and much worse when i hit a series of bumps. the front end starts bouncing and the truck will basically bounce sideways. the first time it happened i was prepared and come close to losing control. it will bounce or wobble going 40 mph just as bad as doing 55 or 60. i will not let my wife drive it on any highway, only around town because i am scared to death she might lose control and wreck or lose control and hit another vehicle. it scares the hell out of me and something needs to be done.

2017 f250 44,000 miles experiencing extreme front tire wobble on the expressway (death wobble) normally happens when im crossing over a bridge or hit minor imperfections on the highway. usually happens at around 65 mph and when the wobble starts it will not stop until around 30 mph i lose control of the vehicle when this happens until i can get the wobble to stop. this has been going on for the last few months. i have everything stock on my truck . i have brought it into a shop to check front end and everything seems to be tight. i have had the tires rotated properly. this needs to be recalled by ford. i have been going through ford truck owner blogs and this is a serious ongoing problem with these trucks. i am not the only one. i am a long time ford truck owner and i have never had any issues with any of my trucks.

Vehicle developes a severe vibration, wobble at highway speed after hitting a bump in the road..i lose all steering control till i can brake to a lower speed.very dangerous.ford dealership has worked on this problem for me 4 times.
