Death wobble occurs between 50-70 mph if hit a rough spot on paved hwy. has happened multiple times. have had dealership fix..but only reduced severity.

Death wobble. truck started shaking around 55-60 mph and was shaking so bad i could not hold on to steering wheel. it had right over 15,000 miles the first time . if have called dealer ship and had it back in a total of 3 times with nothing but excuses and they say they put a new steering dampner on it . it helped for about 2 days . i have fought it ever since i first noticed it and now it is too the point it does it with the slightest pothole or manhole cover in road. please someone do something about this before someone gets killed. my truck now has just over the 36,000 mile warranty on it....... so i wasn't smart enough to play the game with the dealership was playing which was just get it passed the warranty period then its my baby. i lost

While driving down the highway at 65 mph i have experienced the death wobble on several occasions while crossing a bridge.the steering wheel about came out of my hands (moving back and forth left to right) and the truck was shaking violently the truck was taken to the dealer where they fixed it. now less than 10,000 miles later the truck is doing the same thing. this time it was both on the highway again and on a back country road doing 45 mph.this truck is going to kill someone if ford cannot come up with a solution. i will not let my kids or wife drive this truck! when it happens on the highway ,i must slow to about 40 mph to regain control. i would hate for this to happen on wet roads!!!! i am not the only one this is happening to! please help us!

Steering and suspension violently shakes intermittently when going over bridge groove, pot holes, small bumps, and at certain speeds. this is a major safety issue as it is hard to control vehicle when this happens. known as death wobble. truck has been at dealer 3 times for this without any progress in removing issue. someone will die as a result of this issue.

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 ford f-250. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle shook violently. phil long ford (301 s 2nd st, raton, nm 87740) was contacted and stated that the vehicle should not be driven and should be towed to their facility. the manufacturer was contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 25,000.

At normal highway speed and hit a bump excessive shaking in the steering and/or front end

Bought vehicle on wednesday, 4/3/2019. on 4/4/2019 i was driving home and the truck began to shake uncontrollably after crossing a bridge. after slowing down, the truck smoothed out. today, 4/6/2019, the truck did this two more times within 10 minutes. i was driving down the interstate. i had to pull over to the side of the interstate and nearly stop before it smoothed out again. i do have a video of the second incident. my child is now too scared to ride in my "new" truck and quite frankly, so am i. i contacted a dealer and was told i had to pay several hundred dollars to fix it even though it is under warranty. that is a separate battle that i now have to fight. this is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Driving truck on highway 60 to 70 miles per hour the steering wheel begins to shake erratically.

While traveling down the interstate at approx 70 mph i hit a bump and the vehicle's steering became violently erratic, jerking the steering wheel from my hands and the vehicle was shaking as if it was being torn apart internally. i had to slow to almost 10 mph before i was able to regain control of the vehicle. this is the 4th time the vehicle has acted in such a manner.

Violent death wobble experienced at speeds over 45 mph. i experience this over 20 times in the last week from 45-75mph. nearly caused several accidents and is a potential for a deadly situation. vehicle only has 35000 miles.

Death wobble front steering. happens anywhere after 55mph. total loss of steering at high speeds. need to slow down to under 30 and "death wobble" subsides. has happened 3 times in past week.

Death wobble continues to be a problem after dealership replaced worn parts. i have been fortunate enough that it has only occurred on an open road and not a busy highway. i have less than 50,000 miles and it has been a consistent and reoccurring problem for the last 20,000 miles. a recall should be pursued in order to make driving a 2017 ford f-250 super duty safe.

At about 60 mph on a highway and driving in a straight line i experienced a violent shaking in the front end which almost sent me off of the road. the only way to stop it was to slow down rather quickly and regain control. the more i research i found it is named "death wobble". it is a very random and dangerous situation and needs to be fixed. i now have a $46,000 truck that i have absolutely no trust in and will not let my wife drive. it has happened twice now, about a week in between and in different locations.

Hit a bump in the road and truck started shaking uncontrollably. think what everybody is calling death wobble, was going around 70 and wouldn't come out of it till i got slowed down to 25. happened 3 days in a row now, wife wont even drive it anymore. this will cause a deadly accident at some point.

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 ford f-250. while driving 65 mph over a bump in the road, the front end of the vehicle vibrated violently. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact pulled the vehicle over to regain control. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 36,000.

At 60 to 65 mph when you hit a bump in the road (going over bridges) the vehicle begins to shake uncontrollably / violently. in two cases i went off the road trying to slow the vehicle down. it will not stop unless you slow down to about 30 mph. in all cases it happened on the highway. typically while trying to merge into traffic while entering from an on ramp. most case the bridge joint starts the condition. this has happened 4 times in the last 2 months.

I have also experienced what is now referred to as the "death wobble" at least six (6) times at higher speeds (70+mph) and once (1) at slower in-town speeds (45mph). ford has replaced my steering stabilizer once (19,000m) and have been waiting on the second one (29,000m) for 4.5 weeks. to get it to stop the first time, i had to slow to 50mph on a busy interstate while the last two times, it has required me to slow down to under 30 regardless of the initial speed (i had to pull off on the shoulder). it is now bad enough i'm scared to drive it on the highway. a local steering shop will evaluate the f250 this next week - they, apparently, have had good success when replacing the stabilizer with an after-market double stabilizer kit along with new front shocks. it is also my new understanding that it could also include other steering components including the track bar, and tie-rods ..... we'll see. the date of the event is the first time i experienced it - it is now the end of january of 2020 and it is still ongoing.

While driving down the highway around 60mph. the front end and steering wheel was shaking so hard could not steer the truck. this is the second time it happened with this truck.

Driving straight down the road hit small rough spot in the road truck front tires started shaking violently. i could not control the steering when i got slowed down i was in the other lane of oncoming traffic was running about 55 mph.

Death wobble as the dealer calls it has been a reocurring problem on my 2017 ford f-250. i have taken it to the dealer and asked them to address the death wobble 3 times in the last 15,000 miles. i am still experiencing the death wobble on a regular, but unexpected, basis. i hope ford will address the issue but i am not pleased with their "solutions" to this problem. it is, without a doubt, a safety issue. the death wobble is violent and out of control.

Death wobble at highway speed.

Ford tsb #18-2268. death wobble. sudden, unexpected and violent front end oscillation when traveling over expansion joint, pot hole or other uneven road surface at speeds greater than 65 mph. event is remedied by slowing down to less than 45 mph.

2017 ford f250 has a uncontrollable shake in the front end. it shakes the steering wheel so hard, even with two hands on the wheel it will throw you into another lane. it happen today 3/13/2019 at 60 mph on the interstate. the truck has 26066 miles on it. i have the tires rotated and truck service only a ford dealership. my tire are not worn, i do not have any cracked boots nor is there and grease coming out of them.

At 55mph and above the steering shakes violently after hitting a bump in the road.

Front end wheels and suspension vibrates badly when you hit a small rough spot or expansion gap at highway speeds. ford refers to this as steering oscillation, the internet refers to this as a "death wobble"

Condition becoming known as death wobble. have had it happen back in april of 2018. violently shaking of the front end of the vehicle after hitting a minor bump in highway. very scary and life threatening. was supposedly repaired at dealership when it had 17,000 miles. was fine up until two days ago or 3/12/19. the same problem occurred again and is currently at same dealership being evaluated. vehicle is a deadly accident waiting to happen. the pickup currently has approximately 32,000 miles.

My 2017 ford f-250 was having what i would describe as a "death wobble" when i drove over 65mph and hit any imperfection in the roadway (small pot hole, uneven surface at bridges, very small textured road) this happened around 5 times before i took it to the dealership. once they looked it over, they said it was stabilizer bar, tension rod and bushings wore out, pick-up had 50k miles so... no warranty on repairs ($895.00 in repairs) . this is a major safety issue, once wobble started i had to slow down to 40-45 mph and pull to shoulder of hi way to stop severe shaking of steering wheel and front end bouncing. it felt like a blow out on the front tires.

2017 f-250 currently has 19,000 miles. 100 percent stock vehicle. has severe shaking of the steering wheel and wheels of the truck on concrete roads at 60 mph. has happened four times now. first time happened when pulling a horse trailer on the interstate. the truck had approximately 17,000 miles at the time. almost caused a horrible accident. was the most violent shaking i have ever felt in a vehicle. i was able to barely get control of the truck. there needs to be a recall. this is a severe safety problem. that will cause accidents. i thought this was a freak incident but has become more common. called the death wobble according to the internet. has happened 3 more times while not pulling anything at highway speed of 60mph and i am scared to drive this truck on highways or interstates.

Severe steering wheel oscillations after hitting bumps or bridge expansion joints with shaking from front end at highway speeds. must slow down to cease

After hitting certain types of bumps, potholes etc, i experience what is called the "death wobble", violent shaking in the steering system. this is happening in increasing frequency.

Well travelling at 65mph i went over a bridge expansion joint and got what is referred to as the "death wobble". had to slow down to 20mph before it stopped. the truck is 100% stock with 24k miles on it. this is the second time this has happened in two days.

2017 pre owned ford f250 diesel purchased with 10k miles on it. purchased truck nov 2018. experienced 6-7 episodes of "death wobble" at speeds over 60 mph. this issue occurs only at speeds over 50-60 mph when hitting semi rough road. it begins to shake very violently and won't stop even when continuing on to smooth road. only way i have been able to stop it after it starts is to slow down below 50 mph (thereby front loading the suspension by applying the brakes) which is not a safe thing to do when traveling 75 mph on the highway. also, be aware this truck is totally stock from ford. no aftermarket parts of any kind. truck now has about 30k miles on it and i have owned it about 11 months. truck is great in every other way and drives really well in every other way. this death wobble doesn't happen with every patch of rough road, but is more likely the rougher the road is at those speeds. took to dealer ship in aug 2019 and they replaced multiple parts in front end suspension all free of charge. it just did the death wobble again this last weekend 10/12/19. i am scheduled for a 1k mile trip this next week so i will just have to be careful and truck is scheduled for service on this issue on 11/4/19. we will see if anything can be done. but please understand this does nearly cause the vehicle to run off the road. it at least causes it to veer 1-2 feet out of the lane you are in. it's even worse when towing a 5-10k pound load. i have seen many less dangerous items recalled on various vehicles and this should certainly be addressed. someone will be killed one day with this problem. this is not to mention advanced wear of front suspension parts and tires over the life of the vehicle.

Death wobble, the truck will randomly start shaking the steering wheel and front tires at around 60 mph with little to no warning. the truck has veered into other lanes of traffic while this shaking is occuring. the only way to stop the violent shake is to brake extremely hard down to about 30 mph rapidly. this has happened several times so far and is getting progressively worse each time.very dangerous situation. usually highway driving at around 60-65 mph when this happens.

Steering shimmy uncontrollably when @ 55+ mph and uneven payment. to gain control of vehicle must slow vehicle back down to 30 mph and rock the steering wheel. after researching this issue on line for f 250 2017 it's commonly known as the death wobble' below requests date this occurred. began @40,000 and progressively gotten worse now occurs daily.

Driving on interstate at 70 mph passed over bump in road, steering began shimmying violently. slowed vehicle down to around 30 mph and steering stopped shimmying

Driving around 60-65 miles an hour on the highway and the vehicle started to shake uncontrollably almost causing me to crash. slowed vehicle down to about 40 and was able to regain control. this is a significant issue that ford needs to address before someone dies. the tsb issued for the ford death wobble problem is just putting a band-aid on the problem and doesn't fully acknowledging that there is a major issue going one here with multiple complaints.

While traveling at about 65 mph on a controlled access highway, drove over a bridge joint and the steering wheel started to shake violently. the speed needed to be reduced to about 30mph before the shaking stopped. the same condition happed about 2 miles further down the road when a small bump was hit at about 50 mph.

At freeway speeds 70-75 mph, an extreme wobble and shaking took place after running over a little rough pavement. truck had to be slowed down to about 35 mph for shaking to stop. some posts on the internet have called this the "death wobble". this happened 3 times on i 90 freeway in recent trip from tacoma to spokane. dealer is checking out the truck. shaking is so bad that steering control is limited. problem first experienced 3-3-19. truck has 40,000 miles.

Saturday, may 2nd, 2019. drove over a highway bridge expansion joint that was on an angle. the steering wheel suddenly started to oscillate fairly violently back and forth and the truck began to shudder. i was going between 60 and 70 mph. as i pulled off the road, once around 30mph the shudder/shaking stopped. my truck has 19,037 miles on it. it is stock. no modifications have been done.

Vehicle enters an uncontrollable steering warble when exiting bridges on the interstate. problem was mentioned and "repaired" at 17000 miles. yesterday the warble came back after exiting a bridge. it was so bad that i struggled to maintain control of the vehicle and ended up in the median. the vehicle is stock with only a tool box and bed cover added. yesterday it happened at 65 mph heading in a straight direction while pulling a trailer on hwy 64. tsb # 18-2268 has already been completed. the first time this happened the vehicle had approximately 17000 miles on it. it has returned more violently after the repair at 30124 miles

At around 20,000 miles driving down the highway i hit a bump doing about 70 mh and my steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably. had to slow down to about 35 mph to get it to stop. took it to my local dealership and they said the steering dampner was bad. they replaced it. fixed the problem for about 12000 miles, now at around 30,000 miles it ha started again. took it back to the dealer and they did an alignment on it and it still has the same problem

Death wobble. truck has about 28,000 miles on it. when going around 70 mph on the interstate i hit an average bump and the whole front end started shaking violently. actually hurt my wrist from hanging onto the steering wheel. had to slow down to about 20 mph before i had control again.

On two separate occasions, our ford f-250 started to violently shake in the front end after going onto an overpass on the highway. this is a violent wobble of the front end. it feels like the entire front suspension is going to self destruct. this happened one time at a speed of 65 mph and another time at a speed of 75 mph. in order to get the front end shaking to stop, the vehicle had to be slowed down to approximately 35 mph. during both episodes, the steering wheel was violently shaking and it felt like the front tires were wobbling. the first time this happened, it was so violent that the front windshield cracked. the first episode occurred with approximately 21,000 miles on the vehicle. after that episode, we took the truck into the ford dealership and they replaced some parts in the front suspension and indicated it was fixed. the second episode occurred with about 29,000 miles on the vehicle. we again took the vehicle into the ford dealership and they changed the caster setting on the vehicle to an out of spec condition and told us that the ford regional service rep told them that would fix the problem. after getting the vehicle back from that service visit, there was a vibration in the steering at speeds between 72 mph and 76 mph. the steering wheel would vibrate back and forth at a relatively high speed. the vehicle is at the dealership for a third time to address this newest problem. the vehicle now has right at 36,000 miles on it and is at the end of the warranty mileage. the first instance was approx october 1, 2018 and the second instance was approx march 1, 2019.

My father was driving the truck at highway speeds and all of a sudden the truck started shaking violently, it was very unstable . we have taken it to the dealership many times but the shaking is still there and it occurs at lower than highway speeds now.

Driving on interstate 75 coming home from trip when all of a sudden truck went into a shack that almost killed myself and my passengers. took all i could do to keep from crossing lanes into tractor trailer that was next to me. got pulled over checked truck over and found nothing out of place. later checked on websites and found out ford calls this the "death wobble". happened a few more time before we got home ,but not as severe.

2017 f250 with 43,000 miles and have had the death wobble many times. i've brought it to the dealer multiple time to have the issue fixed. all they do is put a new steering damper on. the problem goes away for a few thousand miles, but happens again. i keep waste time and money to have this issue fixed. every time it happens i just pray it's not the day i die, for how violently it shakes the vehicle. would hate for ford to have a lawsuit against them due to the death of someone because of this issue, and they won't do anything to fix the problem.

I was driving on a state highway. the speed limit is 65mph. when i drove over an overpass. at 65 mph i went over the expansion joints in the road the truck started to shake violently. the steering wheel shakes back and forth to the left and right. and the whole truck shakes. after slowing down we returned to the posted speed limit only to hit some potholes two miles down the road. where we experienced the same problem a second time. i made an appointment with the dealership i purchased the truck from, and on the way to the dealer, on the same highway in the same spot, it happened again. the truck was supposedly repaired. however on 03/07/2019 my wife took the truck to an appointment, and once again on the same highway in the same place at 70mph it happened a fourth time. i would like to add that our tires are properly inflated, balanced , and are not even down to the treadwear indicators.

Front end wobbles violently when i hit a bump over speeds of 40mph. problem started @ 26k miles. i've taken it to santa margarita ford 3x's for fix. they couldn't fix it and have told me to take to tuttle click ford in irvine. need help!!!! this is a huge safety problem for me and my family!!

Driving at highway speeds, hit a bump in the road causing a 'death wobble' almost causing me to crash. had to slow down to 45mph or slower for it to subside. this has happened 4 times. it is very unsafe.
