2013 ford raptor super crew 27953 miles. oil change 2 months ago. oil life still at 69%. i went with the recommended ford motor company synthetic and ford motor company oil filter. i was on my way home from work about 10 minutes into my drive. i went to take off from a stop light and i got through the intersection and had an immediate reduction in power the truck was stuck at 1,000 rpms and would not do anything but slowly creep forward at 5 miles an hour. i limped to a lighted parking lot about a half block away as my low oil pressure light came on and a wrench icon on the dash. i shut it off and popped open the hood. i check my oil level transmission fluid level power steering level and everything was well above tolerances. i could find no problems and when i got back in the truck and started it, it ran fine all the way home. i just scanned the system and no error codes. the stop light road was at a slight downward angle and i had just below a half tank of 93 octane fuel. k and n air filter in stock holder. no other power train or engine modifications. loss of power, power steering and decreased braking. it would have been very dangerous had it not been later at night.
While driving at 45 miles an hour on 4th gear my truck unexpectedly shifted into first gear, causing me to lose full control of my vehicle
The upper radiator hose a leak after talking to a number auto parts dealers and ford dealers there is back log for that item until february
Truck has downshifted from drive into a lower gear. also engine rattles on startup. mechanic advised the rattle is probably a stretched timing chain. downshifting occurred on the highway at approximately 55 mph. my son has a 2011 4 wheel drive ford pickup with a v-6 engine. 45,000 miles. the timing was replaced at a cost of $1800. ford motor company will not fix problems.
T-connector (base part #8566) from radiator coolant reservoir to engine block cracks in cold temperatures draining coolant disabling the vehicle. ford indicates national backorder with no estimation on when parts will be available. i was told i was #17 on the waiting list at repair shop for the same piece due to the number of device failures due to recent cold temperatures in the ohio valley. the vehicle was stationary for four days when i noticed a large puddle under the vehicle. upon inspection, i found the coolant reservoir was empty and coolant draining all down the serpentine belt and pulleys. mechanic verified cracked t- connector. due to the number of cracked t-connectors and a national backorder, i feel there is a material deficiency in the t-connector and should be recalled for replacement. i've been told my vehicle is out of service for an undetermined amount of time. with a snow storm looming, this is unacceptable!
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of engine power and the gauges did not function. the failure occurred without warning. the failure was corrected after a manual restart. the failure occurred on three separate occasions. woodhouse ford (3633 north 72nd street, omaha, ne) was contacted, but the failure could not be duplicated. the manufacturer was notified and did not assist. the failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
When accelerating engine goes into "limp mode". the result is no throttle response.
At freeway speed engine began to shudder severely when passing on uphill grade. engine went into limp mode. narrowly missed being involved in collision with several vehicles while attempting to get out of traffic. light misty rain at the time. engine would not start afterwards until battery disconnected to "reset" vehicle. date approximate.
Timing belt failure on ford ecoboost v6 engine with only 65000 miles
Ford's ecoboost turbo has leak and needs to be replaced. acceleration has decrease power and causes delay before acceleration finally kicks in.
T-connector from radiator coolant reservoir to engine block cracks in cold temperatures draining coolant disabling the vehicle. ford said its on national backorder with no estimation on when parts will be available. mechanic verified cracked t- connector. due to the number of cracked t-connectors and a national backorder, i feel there is a material deficiency in the t-connector and should be recalled for replacement. the vehicle was stationary when i noticed a large puddle under the vehicle. so far its cost me 219.99 and 507.32 to try and fix this. and it still leaks.
Traveling at various speeds on highway. the orange wrench waring lights came on, speedometer went to zero, mileage indicator went out , gas dte indicator quit working, speed reduced. switched vehicle off after stopping, switched back on everything reset - vehicle ran fine until the next time, same thing reoccurred. this has happened several times. took it to dewitts automotive repair, windsor, va. dianostic report indicates wiring harness and module sensor for powertrain needs replacing. must be replaced by ford repair shop.
While traveling in our 2013 f150 with 37,000 miles from wisconsin to texas on interstate 35 at 70 mph towing a 4000 lb trailer the engine suddenly shut down and the gold wrench illuminated. had to quickly pull to the shoulder to get out of the way of traffic to avoid getting rear ended. the ecoboost engine went into limp mode when the gold wrench appeared and max speed was about 2 mph with the trailer attached. turned the engine off and when restarted after 10 minutes it seemed to be back to normal. went to the nearest ford dealer, rusty eck ford, wichita, kansas where a selftest was performed. no codes were found, no tsb or ssm found, but said they suspect the throttle body is going out (invoice no focs664277). continued on our trip and the same thing happened four more times that same day. the next day of our trip south the truck ran flawless during the remaining 500 miles of our trip. since we have reached our destination the problem has occurred once during local driving. i am planning on replacing the throttle body but no one can assure me the this will fix the problem. this sudden loss of power is extremely dangerous and depending on the specific road and traffic conditions could result in an accident with injuries and/or fatalities. we were terrified driving through fort worth construction at night with heavy traffic and absolutely no shoulders for many miles fearing the gold wrench would appear.
Engine rattles upon cold startup and check engine light illuminates from p0016 error code relating to the timing chain being stretched. ford has issued technical service bulletins regarding this issue meaning it is a known issue with this model of vehicle, yet they refuse to help with the repair yet i have purchased an extended warranty and just so happen to be 3000 miles over the mileage limit.

On first occurance, truck was in motion on highway. vehicle lost power, gages zeroed out and engine light came on. pulled over nad restarted vehicle and it ran fine and engine light cleared. multiple loss of power occurances. does not throw a code when diagnostics are ran. tonight, when merging onto the interstate, while accelerating, truck lost all acceleration, all gauges stopped working and engine light came on. restarted the truck, gages did not start working unitl truck was turned off a second time but the truck was driveable. engine light did not clear.
While coming off the entrance ramp to the interstate in front of a semi i increased my throttle to merge and the truck started to shutter and engine light come on as soon as i pulled in front of the semi. pulled over put the truck in park and turned truck off to turn off the engine light. truck was able to run after turning truck off.
Two days in a row my vehicle stalled after violently shaking the steering wheel, i had a complete power loss. i coasted to the side of the road and waited to restart the engine. after about 5 minutes i was able to restart my vehicle. the second time it happened i was one the way to the dealership. the dealership called me back to inform me that my vehicle was driven for 26 miles and could not duplicate. i have been researching online to see if there have been any issues. back in 2013 an investigation was started for this issue. i spoke with the dealership and the service department told me they could not do anything because the cars computers did not throw a code. not only did nothing happen ford did not mention any tsb that would help or fix this issue, after i asked about any tsb that would help or fix. still i got nothing from the dealership.
While driving at both high speeds and low speeds, we have lost acceleration ability. a large yellow wrench appears on the screen. we have to pull the truck over by coasting to the side, put the rough running truck in park, turn the truck off, wait, and then restart the truck for the acceleration to work again. we have had the throttle body replaced 2 x's in the last year and it continues to do it intermittently. unfortunately the dealer says they can not recreate it and it does not come up with a diagnostic code they are not able to help us with the issue. i called ford after looking it up online and saw that there are many of the same occurrences happening with others out there. they stated there is not a recall and basically i needed to just keep trying at the dealership level. this is not a new problem and has been happening for the past year and a half!
Truck unexpectedly stalls. error code is p2112. throttle body failure. i have installed 3 throttle bodies during ownership. complete loss of power during driving. engine stutters, continues to run very roughly, with complete loss of power. this has happened while towing a rv trailer as well as normal driving. extremely dangerous to experience.
While accelerating to pass engine lost power and began to shutter check engine light flashed several times and finally cleared all power was restored. this has happened several times since i've owned the vehicle. this was the first time the check engine light flashed. this causes safety concerns. it had 98,000 miles on it the last time it happened.
Driving on interstate when brake light came on. tried brakes but they did not work. very hard pedal that could not be pressed on without noises coming the brakes. stopped vehicle with ebrake and took to locale ford dealer. discovered that vacuum pump locked up causing the exaust cam to break into pcs inside the motor. had to replace motor due to the vacuum pump issue.
Fuse #27 for the fuel pump is burning up on one side. engine stalls intermittently. will not restart for a while after.

Timing chain rattle on ecoboost engine, i believe ford issued a bulletin on it, i feel it should be covered under recall, makes a horrendous noise on startup everytime, and its very expensive to fix. the engine feels as if it is about to fall out on startup its that loud, shakes the whole truck.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving 30 mph, the engine stalled and the maintenance warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was able to restart and resume normal operation. the vehicle was taken to the local dealer (coconut point ford 22400 s. tamiami trail, fl 33928), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 114,000.
Now the second time in and the truck doesn't even have 50k miles on it. truck would turn over but not start and left my wife and kids stranded in a parking lot where i had to go get them. it's hot as heck in june/july in texas so i know it isn't a cold weather start thing. researching online we are not the only ones with this problem. eventually leaving it there and messing with the key and ignition switch i'm assuming it started after a few hours. the truck was not over heated.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. the contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal rattling noise, which was a distraction. the vehicle was driven to ford lincoln of franklin (1129 murfreesboro rd, franklin, tn 37064, (615) 800-6500) where it was diagnosed that new cam phasers and a timing chain kit needed to be installed. the vehicle was scheduled to be repaired today. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and transferred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was 53,000.
Stumble/misfire on acceleration from highway cruise up hill conditions or hard acelarecion eqped with 3.5l ecoboost and engine light flashes . very dangerous in the highway becouse my the truck engine stops working and you have to pullover right away if you luky .
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to pick up speed and stalled. the contact had to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and restart the vehicle. the second time the vehicle stalled while driving over 50 mph, and the oil indicator illuminated. the vehicle was unable to be restarted after coasting over to the side of the road. the vehicle was towed to a dealer (levittown ford, llc, 3195 hempstead turnpike, levittown, ny 11756, (866) 421-1288) who replaced the fuse and re-wired the fuse box per a tsb. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified and stated that they would follow up with a response within 48 hours. the contact wanted to know why a tsb had been issued and if the dealer stated this was a known issue, but there was no recall issued yet by the manufacturer. the approximate failure mileage was 19,600.
3.5 eco-boost engine on two occasions put me in an unsafe condition by causing a loss of throttle response. each time this happened a "wrench icon" flashed with a loss of power. no throttle response until the engine was shut down and restarted. when these incidents happened i was towing a trailer at highway speed and had a difficult time pulling out of traffic onto the shoulder. each time this happened a trouble code of p2112 was set and the cel came on. the throttle body had to be replaced each time. the first time this happened i had 23131 miles and ford replaced the part under warranty, the second occurrence was at 45558 miles and i had to cover the cost for replacement. with the loss of power at highway speed this could lead to a serious accident in not being able to move out of the way of traffic at a critical moment. the ford service managers can't give me a reason why this part is failing.
I excelerated from a stop, suddenly my check engine light started to flash and i started to lose power and acceleration. my vehicle then began to shudder, i let off the accelerator pedal and moved to the side of the road. after about a minute the engine light turned itself off and the full power came back to the truck.
As i am driving the 2013 ford f-150 raptor 6.2l the gears seem to be off, if i am driving only 30mph the gear is at 6. also the more dangerous and scary thing is that it shifts down without any warning, i was traveling about 35mph and the gear seem to shift down to 1 locking my rear tires and making me skid almost causing the vehicle behind me to run into me. the tires locked almost as if i put the brakes on. i'm glad i was only going 35mph but what if i'm going 80, this would be a more dangerous and scary scenario. it also happened when i turned on to a street and as i started to accelerate it dropped my gear to 1, locked my wheels and acted like it didn't want to shift or accelerate , i pulled off to the side of road, i sat there for a few minutes wondering what happened and went on my way nervous if it will happen again, which it didn't and made it home. next day i took to ford and they said they cant duplicate the issue so there is nothing we can do. this is scary , i don't fell safe with me and my son in this vehicle. what could be causing this dangerous situation? what is my next opposition to get this fixed. thank you
Driving on interstate at roughly 70 mph with cruise control engaged, truck lost power and started to coast. speedometer swept to 0 indicated speed, tachometer indicated engine at idle speed, around 1000 rpm, while coasting from 70 mph slowing to roughly 40 mph. vehicle regained powered drive briefly then again lost power and coasted. after resuming coasting, the back tires then breifly locked up, vehicle shuddered, then resumed coasting. extremely dangerous as vehicle being driven in traffic on interstate and became nearly uncontrollable. explanation from dealer service department was that the wiring harness from transmission to ecu passes through firewall through a grommet that is known to fail. the wiring chafes and causes a short and the transmission to malfunction. apparently a tsb is issued for repair at customer's expense per dealer but i have not been able to find it. this appears to be a proverbial ticking timebomb for f150 owners and should absolutely be subject to a recall.
This has happened more than once driving on the highway 65 mph automatic transmission suddenly shifts into first gear all lights on rear end squelling, completely no control over vehicle, dangerous, dangerous
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving approximately 10 mph, the low oil pressure warning indicator illuminated. shortly after, the vehicle stalled. the contact restarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred approximately four miles later. the contact took the vehicle to the d'orazio ford dealer where it was diagnosed that a switch associated with the ignition failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the contact stated that the failure recurred approximately four times while driving various speeds. the vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired a second time. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vin was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
Driving down the road under high way speeds and something internal in the engine let go. motor locked up almost caused me to get rear ended. ford dealership said it was not uncommon for it to happen. have about 85k miles on the truck.
Hesitation stumbles erratic acceleration. nothing happens when stepping on accelerator then suddenly takes off.
While driving down the highway, the vehicle flashed service advance trac, down hill descent control fault, trailer brake module fail and a couple more codes. all electonics in vehicle went blank, including all controls/gauges. before doing so, last code read, shift to park. almost caused me to have an accident, because the power steering went out and nearly pulled me into another vehicle. the acceleration is bad too, feels like it is not firing all cylinders again. have already taken in for a number of issues, including crankshaft sensor issues(was losing power to driveline); brakes locking up (have replaced the rotors and pads six times and last time i replaced both calibers as well; power steering has been replaced once before, front axles and bearings replaced. as well as, ac problems. when the first issues arose, i was told by service tech at dealership i needed a new engine, (later he completely denied telling me this) instead they fixed some things and gave it back to me. problems have continued since, like i said have taken it in at least 6 times to a dealer and once to an independent mechanic. at first the problems were covered by warrenty, now they are not, there is only 78,000miles on the truck and has been in shop at least 6 times and is only 4 yrs old. not sure what to do, as the problems resemble recall issues, but dealership says they aren't part of any recalls. concerned for my safety on the road.
Loss of power when i accelerate. i feared for my life, when i was merging on to the highway and a semi-trailer almost rear ended me because i could not accelerate to get up to the speed limit.
Driving at normal speeds, my truck loses power and goes into "limp mode" and the wrench icon appears on my dash. this has happened 3 times in the last 150 miles of driving. this could be deadly to me and my family!!! it has also happened a number of time previously as well. sometimes at 55 mph, sometimes at 40 mph. from my research, this is a known problem to ford and i don't want to be victim due to this causing an accident. i am now scared for my safety driving this truck!!!
Had the engine studded and drop a cylinder, this is an ecoboost motor, the check engine light started to flash while running rough.it happened as i was passing a tractor trailer on the highway,as i got around him another trailer was coming on behind me,this is when it dropped a cylinder, the trailer almost ran over me.this is a problem with this truck i found out once i did some research, ford needs to do something about this before someone gets hurt or killed.i called the dealer the first time this happened,as far as the studded and he said bad gas keep driving it(59,500 mls). it happened again at 61,381,took to dealer and they did a tsb 14-0017 reprogram, this worked for about a week then it happened again, took it to the dealer 61850mls,they couldn't get it to do it,i picked it up and 20 miles later it did it again,i got it on video this time so theres no questions, seems as though they know about it but are blowing it off, let me get outside warranty then take a look at it.let me tell you if it happens again, and my family gets hurt i will own ford !!!! thanks for you time.
Extreme loss of power when accelerating, and violent engine vibrations during the process, lasting for about one minute and then everything goes back to normal operations. this is extremely unsafe and dangerous given the situation.
Takata recall my ford f150 truck 2013 was purchased in 2014 brand new. in 2017 january i had the sparks plugs changed and now again in april 2017 my mechanic has said that the sparks plug needs to be changed. i believe and gathering from what my mechanics is saying there is a problem with the coil? which is why the sparks plug in black for the second time. this all started from a problem with the brakes the tried flushing the breaks and same thing than they looked into the engine and changed the sparks plug (jan) now in april same issue. need help this is costing me money.
I experienced a condition noted in ford tsb: asi-32166 "some vehicles, with turbochared gasoline direct injection engines, will exhibit flashing malfunction indicator lamp, an intermittent stumble and/or misfire during hard acceleration during extreme humid or damp conditions." while driving at a relatively steady 55-60 mph (on a rainy afternoon), i pushed the accelerator down in an effort to overtake a vehicle. immediately, the "check engine" light began flashing, the truck began to shimmy, and i started to lose power. unable to accelerate any more, i promptly exited the interstate, parked, shut off my vehicle in an effort to allow it to "reset". when i restarted the vehicle, the check engine light was off and the truck ran fine. i was (thankfully) unable to replicate the scenario on the remainder of my drive home. *tr
