Engine overheats when idle, or in slow stop and go traffic. i had this addressed once by ford due to a bulletin, but it seems to be doing it again. *tr

Since purchasing my 2011 explorer, i have just replace the coolant fan on june 20,2015. this is the second time the fan has quit working entirely and caused the vehicle to overheat and required immediate replacement. requested ford to reimburse cost of most recent repair.

Purchased this vehicle for my wife a little over a year ago. at first everything was fine but then at about four months we started having issues with the window not rolling up. the dealer took care of that issue with no problems. then we take it in for the scheduled maintenance (oil change/tire rotation) & our tires had inside cupping in which the dealer does nothing about & still have not. at around 22k miles my wife notices the vehicle starting to jerk when stopped or moving. over the past 8k miles this gets worse & gets to where the vehicle has stalled out numerous times (still or moving). i have made an appointment with the dealer to resolve this issue. not sure the cause yet. *tr

After a rapid acceleration in order to get to toll speeds (65mph) the vehicle started to produce a burnt smell. thought it could be new vehicle stuff but right know its 30,000 miles and every time i go over 4000 rpm on a rapid acceleration it gives me the odor, plus the vehicle losses power on the hills. disappointing when you pay over 40,000 for a new luxury suv. *tr

Exhaust leaking into cabin from broken header has been like this since 2012 ford did nothing hard acceleration cabin smell is very strong

Got my explorer new in 2011 had exhaust fumes coming in to cabin took to dealer 3 times for that problem happens when accelerating over 3000 rpm strong odor comes into cabin. dealer told me nothing was wrong with vehicle. they said was because it was new eventually would clear up...tired of being stonewalled by ford on this issue. please take action on our behalf you have the power to force ford to fix this issue and make it safe for me and my family to use this suv safely. we cant afford to get a differnt vehicle at this time. please take quick action on this matter i dont want pass out behind the wheel of this truck...

Upon medium to heavy acceleration, such as accelerating onto a freeway, the vehicle cabin is filled with exhaust fumes from the engine. this injures the respiratory system of the passengers. ford has finally admitted that there is a problem, and they are working on a fix (after my family has been breathing polluted air for almost 1.5 years). *tr

When merging into lane and passing a car about 3500 rpm exhaust gas enters passengers cabin and everyone inside will complain of very strong odor, breathing problem and headache. had this problem since car was new and dealing with uncomfortable smell with the rest of the family. wife had numerous times having problem concentrating driving because the exhaust fumes or odor is causing her to have headaches and almost passing out on long trips. it is a hazardous/dangerous issue. if ford can have a fix on this and it has to be soon. i think it is thousand or hundred of thousand of ford vehicles out there that has this problem. pls. don't wait for something like gm did. *tr
