Problems with 2013 Ford Edge SERVICE BRAKES

On average, the 2013 Ford Edge starts to “feel” problems with the SERVICE BRAKES and its various aspects after 86 989 miles.

Recently reported SERVICE BRAKES problems on 2013 Ford Edge

Vehicle had brake booster recall 13 no2 done previously. and brake booster has gone out again. car does not start properly ford will not warranty the repair.

I have a 2013 ford edge awd sel model, this past feb. 7, 2020 as traveling on a 3 hour trip to northern new york, for the most part their were no issues until i approached my destination which had heavy snow the day before.i needed to decline on a steep road that had snow, slushy spots, as i applied the brakes and shifted into low gear the abs system kicked in and after that the pedal was spongy.and pedal approached the floor.after being a former ford dealer for 40 yrs. was able to take the trip back but with caution.i have practiced mechanics for 25 yrs of that 40.now retired and to it to a local technician, had brakes checked, were in good shape but on the check of the abs system it indicated a possible stuck valve in the hcu unit which is costly.taking it to fellow ford dealer whom i've known for 45 yrs. to varify. i know how the ford system works and it takes pressure from public to collect data and at some point issue a recall on this matter.

While braking, the brakes didn't not perform as expected. they were working fine, then it felt like i couldn't stop in time. i had to push the peddle all the way down to stop. it caught me off guard, and almost couldn't stop in time. there was a hissing noise from the petal afterwards. the condition existed until i stopped, parked the car, and waited several hours. then the next time i drove it, no issues. i checked the brake system and determined. - no visible leaks - brake pads have plenty of life - brake fluid reservoir still full

For several months my brakes have gotten worse and worse. brake pads were replaced, brakes adjusted and even flooring the brakes sometimes does not work. car has hesitated and shut off at intersections. rain has caused some hydroplaning. car continues rolling with brake pedal pushed all the way down. i stopped the car at a traffic light, but the car continued to roll slowly and ran into the vehicle in front of me! help! no damage to either exterior, but i don't know what might happen next.

In september 2014, ford has issued a "customer satisfaction" notice regarding the extended warranty on brake function component. notice id :13n02. the issue was possibility of break booster premature failure leading to unpredictable braking performance. there are 2 significant issues with this notice: 1. the part that fails is a major safety issue and should have been treated with immediate recall instead of an extended warranty offering - as the failure of this part leads to unpredictable braking performance at an unpredictable time frame. 2. it only covers vehicles produced between certain dates, while the real extent of faulty brake system component goes way beyond the scope covered in this notice. i own a 2013 ford edge truck with production date of 06/13. the mileage on this vehicle is under 58000. about a week ago the braking function of this car has failed significantly leading to a near crash situation. this happened when i was driving closer to a traffic stop at about 20 mph and started gradually applying brakes and to my surprise the car kept on moving without any noticeable braking applied. realizing that, i pressed the pedal much harder to a degree that would be close to activating abs and only then the car came to a hard stop. after experiencing this i started researching online and have learned about ford's notice of extended warranty on brake booster part failure - 13n02. i had exactly the same symptoms as described in this bulletin. upon visiting dealership, they refused to service my car under this extended warranty as my car was just outside the production dates covered by 13n02. upon further research, i have learned that this issue impacted a much larger number of ford edge 2013 owners, whose safety concerns are plainly ignored by ford motor company same as is my case. both dealership and the ford hotline refused to anything about it.

While driving at approximately 55-60 miles per hour the traction control and traction control off light lit up and a red brake malfunction light came on and the engine stopped while the car was in motion. we coasted to the side of the road and it took two attempts to start it again. the traction control light and traction control off light is still on. it happen three times so far and two of those times was while we were on the interstate in traffic travelling at 60-70 mph. this was not safe at all. when it shuts off there is a big thud sound and the traction control, traction control off and a red brake malfunction light comes on. after the second time there is now a rattle. i have the car at home now but it has a hesitation in it when it is first started this all has happened in the last 4 days.

While driving at any speed whenever i press my brakes the brake pedal went all the way down to the ground and it barely stopped the vehicle, i took the vehicle to the dealership and they told me it was the hcu and module that needed to be replaced at a cost of $1600 and the vehicle was in the shop for 9 days, i can't believe this very expensive part went bad after only 6 years and 67,000 miles.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving various speeds and attempting to depress the brake pedal, an abnormal hissing noise was heard coming from the brakes. the contact had to apply excessive pressure to the brake pedal for the brakes to engage properly. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was determined that the brake booster failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. beach ford (2717 virginia beach blvd, virginia beach, va 23452, (757) 486-2717) was contacted and confirmed that the vin was not included in a recall. the manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to nhtsa to file a complaint. the failure mileage was 94,005.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced a failure with the brake booster. while driving and depressing the brake pedal to the floorboard, the vehicle failed to stop and then slowed down. the contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road, checked the brake fluid, and noticed that it was ok. the vehicle was restarted and was able to drive normally. the failure recurred three times. the contact called corwin ford nampa (5707 e gate blvd, nampa, id 83687, (208) 475-1110) and was referred to the manufacturer. the manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was 147,000.

During a recent snow fall. i was driving down the road. when i went to stop the abs system activated due the the snowy road conditions. from them on the brake pedal has gone to the floor with out returning back to normal. i did have the brakes looked at and found out the pads and rotors are fine. the service department was not able to see any issues and told me i would have to take it to a ford dealership to have the computer looked at. because the repair shop does not have access to ford software.

While driving over a bump in the road on a city street, the brakes stopped working. brake pressure was lost and only by depressing the pedal to the floor could a small amount of braking power be applied. no warning lights appeared and no noises, hissing, ect were heard. the issue occurred three times in the same location in the span of a month. after two incidents, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who suspected the brake booster may be failing. the mechanic could not confirm an issue with the braking system, but we elected to replace the brake booster as functional brakes are essential and a booster recall has occurred for this vehicle, although this vin was not included in the recall. within a few days of the repair, the exact issue occurred again in the same spot, so the booster replacement clearly did not resolve the issue. the vehicle has been well maintained with newly replaced pads and rotors and has approximately 75,000 miles. once the vehicle was stopped, the brakes started working normally and continued working normally after the car was turned off and then back on again. the vehicle will be taken to our local ford dealer shortly to attempt to diagnose the issue.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving approximately 45 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and a high-pitched whistling noise was heard. the contact also stated that the brake pedal was difficult to depress; however, the vehicle was able to stop. the contact stated that the failure also occurred while his wife was driving. during the failure, the low pressure warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled. the contact stated that the vehicle was able to restart. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the extended warranty coverage for the brake booster (13n02). the failure mileage was 130,000.

Brake cylinder booster system failure. vehichle vin not included in previous recalls. car would not brake; hissing sounds; had to put in neutral and push brake to the floor. this is not acceptable or safe in a city with the traffic we have in houston. independent dealer estimate to fix exceeds $1200. ford needs to recall this vehicle for continued brake issues.

Brake master cylinder developed an internal bypass leak, at times the pedal would go to the floor while attemptoing to stop, other times the pedal would fade while sitting stopped with foot on pedal. barke vacuum booster diaphram developed a leak causing a hard pedal and vacuum leak when the pedal was applied. vacuum leak caused service engine light issues.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop. the contact stated that excessive force had to be applied to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact also stated that the brakes made a whistling sound. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power brake booster needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact called edwards auto sales co (3440 blue ridge blvd, west union, sc 29696, (877) 365-4221) and explained the issue to the parts department who agreed that the power brake booster failed. the dealer informed the contact that the vin was not included in a recall. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 24642713. the failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

Brake booster failure causing decreased stopping power. ford released a bulletin 13n02 covering this vehicle up until march of 2013. vehicle was manufactured in july of 2013 at same plant. calling them, they stated that they will not cover. my vehicle has 128k miles on it and they offered an extended warranty on the bulletin for 10 years 150000 miles due to the high rate of failures and safety issues. dealership and ford customer care are unwilling to acknowledge that the problem continued longer than their cut off dates. the vehicle was in motion at the time of failure at highway speeds of 60mph . during traffic, as the brakes booster failed during normal stopping in congested traffic, my wife had to swerve to avoid the car in front of her as she pumped her brakes to try to stop the vehicle. fortunately her experience allowed her to avoid an accident. the local service station, found that the booster had failed, but was a few months out from fords supplement date. i'm asking that the nhtsa review the problem and will be saving parts and service repairs for further information if needed.

While driving my 2013 edge (148,000 miles), when going to apply the break it suddenly did not want to break causing me try to veer from traffic to avoid an accident with another vehicle. never had a warning or issue before this.the pedal will then go all the way down. edge has an fsa item for extended warranty of the break booster. taking to dealership i was informed that the master cylinder was bad. the mechanics i spoke to state that the master cylinder and brake booster go hand in hand so to speak yet ford states they are not responsible for that only the brake booster. upon looking up customer issues for this i saw the 2011-2013 f150s have the same issues and both the master cylinder and brake booster were being replaced by ford at no charge. why not the edge? it is clearly having the same issues and my brakes are in good condition.the dealership also stated the abs hydraulic control assembly was bad, yet the abs light has not turned on and i am not sure this is accurate as prior to taking to the dealership i had a mechanic look at it and they told me it was the brake booster and master cylinder.

Vacuum brake booster needs to be replaced. i went to drive my car, backing out of my driveway, and immediately the brakes were extremely hard to push on. luckily i was backing out of my garage, but my brakes failed, and i had to hit the emergency brake to make the car stop. i had a 1 year old in the car, and this is a huge safety issue. also, i had noticed earlier that when i was in drive, but sitting at a light, the car would shake. a minute later, the car died.

Brakes started to make hissing noise. brought to mechanic to find a failed brake booster. contacted ford because it is part of extended warranty. was told by ford that my vin was not part of the extended warranty coverage. was told the car was safe to drive, but if the brakes becomes hard i was to 'mash on the brakes and my car would stop'. ford knows there is a problem and is not taking responsibility for the safety of their vehicle.

When going to break, break pedal goes half way down and then stops, all while car is still moving. becomes hard to push. while applying break, there is a hissing noise. car stalls while sitting at a stop light. at time is has almost caused me to crash my car with my 8 year old in it. very unsafe to drive. upon taking it to a mechanic, they diagnosed it with a failing break booster. dealer stated my car is not covered under the 13n02 extended warranty even though my car is a 2013 and was produced in oakville canada. i have seen thousand of claims/complaints about this issue. this is a safety concern that obviously needs to be addressed and the 13n02 needs to be extended out to more models of the ford edge. i bought this car back in april so that me and my son are safer while out on the road, unfortunately now i am stuck with an unsafe care that should be fixed under the 13n02 extended warranty.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving various speeds, the contact heard air leaking while depressing the brake pedal without warning. the contact stated that the brakes did not function when needed and the vehicle took some time to come to a complete stop. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that they were aware of the failure. the manufacturer once offered an extended warranty regarding the failure. the contact was informed that the vehicle did not meet the guidelines to qualify for the recall. the manufacturer offered no further assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the dealer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 75,000.

Brake pedal went to the floor as i applied them after exiting interstate and pulling into a parking lot. it was taken to a ford dealership where the master cylinder, booster and hcu were all replaced, but problem still persisted

Brakes make a noise like air is coming out when i'm pushing on them. had them checked out by a garage and they said the pad and rotors look good. however, still having issues with immediate stops when going down my inclined driveway. brakes feel spongy and not touchy. also, recently, sitting in a drive through line and after idling stationary for a few minutes with my foot on the brake, the car turned off. something is not right with the brake system. it's a 2013 ford edge.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. the contact stated that the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when depressed. the vehicle was taken to mark mclarty ford (4400 landers rd, north little rock, ar 72117, (501) 945-1200) where it was diagnosed that the hydraulic control module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 36,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving approximately 45 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but was very firm. the contact stated that extra pressure was needed to slow down the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to sisk family ford (565 oak st, forest city, nc 28043, (828) 245-1626) where it was diagnosed. the results were still pending. the contact stated that an independent mechanic informed her of a tear in the diaphragm of the brake booster. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000. *bf consumer stated tear in diaphram was repaired.*jb

While driving the car 40 miles it completely died and the steering wheel locked up. i took the car in for diagnostic test and it came back nothing. the car was giving back to me and it had the warning flashing on the dash with the wrench . i took several pictures. driving west on i-40 during rush hour traffic. i paid for this repair and see this exact same thing has happened. several month later the brakes felt like i was pushing on a brick. i was unable to stop,. the ford company has a recal on the brake boaster and i was told to pay 900.00 and maybe some time they will include my 2013 ford edge. sept 16 2019 , the check engine light is on. there is a recallfor the ford edge 2013 but again not mine i have a faulty purge valve . ford is charging 349.00 to put on a part that is again on recall. this part is also on the outside of the car.

This car is horrible. multiple safety issues! first, my axle needs to be redone. clicking and popping with all turns. secondly, the electronics are haywire, with the ac blowing hot on one side and cold on the other and not starting with brand new batteries. third, the brake system... had the booster go out. ford replaced and upon the drive back, it failed even worse locking my engine, smoke fromthe brakes being locked up. i had to tow back on my expense and rent a car for days. the replaced the booster, but i still have even worsening brake issues. ford told me i need a new abs and master cylinder. it only did this after the 2 failed boosters... now if i hit a bump or gravel while pressing the brakes, my brakes go out! i mean they fail! luckily i haven't hit anyone yet. it's off and on but happens with no warning. the pedal goes all the way to the floor and there's the constant sound of hissing and air. i have contacted ford multiple times which is horrible and taken to the dealership where i leave with no problems until the next unexpected blow out on the brakes. all you have to do is google this model and there are tons and tons of reports of complaints for the same issue. ford should stand by their products and fix to avoid injuries, death and lawsuits. i had no issues with my car until other than the initial brake booster failure, until my car was left with smoke all under my car from the second brake booster. i got one thing fixed only to have major problems after. how is that fair? obviously ford didn't fix correctly and/or gave me bad equipment which burned my system up. now i need to pay for my abs to be fixed? shame on ford! very dangerous. will never buy ford again. at least the foreign cars stand by their products. buyers beware the edge is tainted.

While turning into a shopping center, my brakes suddenly had to be pushed to the floor to stop the car. the issue continued for an hour of driving, and my husband was able to duplicate having to push the brake pedal to the floor. once we determined the car needed repair, we drove (carefully) to a repair center and the tech was unable to duplicate the issue. on the drive over to the shop, the brake function gradually returned to normal.

Brake failure on a 2013 ford edge. i applied my brakes as i approached stopped traffic on i-26 east bound. the brake pedal went all the way to the floor without stopping the car completely. i pumped the brakes and it slowly began to stop. fortunately i did not hit the car in front of me. i pulled off to the side of the road. the brake pedal remained at the floor of the car. there was no warning that there was a problem with the brakes. my vehicle has never had any type of brake problem. it has around 50,000 miles. i had the car taken to my mechanic to determine the problem. in the mean time i looked to see if there was a recall for this problem. i did find a number of complaints from edge owners that experienced this same problem but no recall. this is an extremely dangerous situation that needs to be addressed by ford. my mechanic later informed me that both the brake booster and the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. the location of these parts requires a lot of labor to replace them. total cost $1,375.

In august 2019 i suddenly experienced lis of brake boost and brake pedal went to the floor. i was able to pump up the brakes and drove to the local ford dealership where i was given an appointment to evaluate and repair. dealership reported it was not a booster issue, but abs sensor not communicating with ecm. dealership reported they reprogrammed and was working fine. less than a week later i experienced the same issue. dealership checked and found no codes issue and started they believed it to be master cylinder failure, but they weren't sure. they suggested replacing parts step by step until they found the faulty part, starting with master cylinder. master cylinder replaced, same issue. electronic module tested and found to be okay. now they have no idea. from reading online posts, it's obvious there is an issue with this model brake system. contacted ford customer service and they won't address issue. local dealership is james hodge. help!! *tr

There is a hissing sound and it is literally taking both feet for me to stop my vehicle, this is a severe safety issue, and i have less than 110,000 miles on this car. it happened suddenly and out of the blue. it has been an ongoing issue for over a week. this happens anytime i'm in the car and its moving. the hissing is not as bad right now, but when it started, it was nonstop.

Brake pedal is spongy, takes more effort to push to have an effect on the brakes, and there is a hissing sound. brake booster is bad.

For over a week, i have had issue with my brakes being very difficult to press, and stop my car. it is a 2013 ford edge with about $106,000 miles on it. this issue started suddenly, and almost resulted in a crash, as i was not able to stop my car in my neighborhood, and blew through a stop sign. i have since driven in manual mode, so that i could downshift to slow my vehicle, but have to leave adequate braking time b/w my vehicle and the next, and am leaving early and late for work to avoid any traffic situations in which my car will not stop. we have a 18mth old, so driving with her in the vehicle is not going to happen for her safety alone. we called, and were told this was covered as long as it was the brake booster, but from reading these complaints it is the exact thing i'm having and i'm not sure how it could be anything else. the hissing is when i brake, and the first time it happened, there was a very loud squealing. my brakes are "spongy" and i literally have to use both feet to stop my vehicle. fortunately, when i called i was told this was covered as long as it is the brake booster, but this is clearly an issue with ford, and it should obviously be a recalled part. this has been an ongoing issue with my car since 8/19, and i took my vehicle this morning to be serviced, and hopefully it won't take long.

Driver noticed the breaks needing extra pressure to get vehicle to stop, hissing sound when break pedal is depressed, at times breaks are spongy, at times breaks need extra pressure then all of a sudden pedal goes to the floor board and very rapid stop takes place. all this happens from varying speeds while stopping.

Vehicle was driving roughly 60mph on a highway when driver attempted to stop. the brake pedal had to be fully pushed into the floor for the car to begin slowing down. the car did eventually stop. the driver then continued to drive slowly (5-10mph) on back roads and when attempting to brake the brake hardly needed to be tapped and the car stopped immediately. there was an air deflating noise and screeching noise when applying the brake. took the car into a ford dealership and they identified the issue as a power break booster and vacuum hose failure. ford currently has a customer satisfaction program (13n02) for select 2011-2013 ford edges with under 150,000 miles. my car is a 2013 edge with 139,773 miles. however ford claims the vehicle is not covered under the extended warranty program.

Trying to stop at 35-40 mph at a red light, brake pedal went all the way to the floor, had to step very hard on the brake pedal to stop. after that i felt a spongy brake pedal, hissing sound, and abnormal braking movement. dealership initial diagnosis; brake booster & master cylinder, at a cost of 1600 could not figure out why they still have a spongy pedal, now asking for 800 more for a abs module. complete defective brake system from ford! 2013 ford edge 125,000 miles

Brake booster vacuum intermittent failure at around 100,000 miles. failure is worsening over time.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while operating the vehicle, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when attempting to stop the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the brake pads and brake calipers, but the failure continued. the cause of the failure was not determined. the manufacturer and parrish ford (2900 river rd w., goochland, va) were notified. the failure mileage was 45,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. the contact heard a hissing noise when she depressed the brake pedal. on other occasions, the contact had to apply more force to stop the vehicle. the contact called chaparral ford (102 co rd 773, devine, tx 78016, (830) 665-4461) and was informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. the contact was informed that she could bring in the vehicle to receive a repair estimate. the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in an extended warranty and to call nhtsa. the failure mileage was 138,000.

Break booster went out on car. the 2013 ford edge did not include my vin.

The brakes became mushy and lost all stopping ability while driving almost causing me to run into vehicles in front of me. the ford dealer informs me that the brake booster has failed and it will cost $950.00 to repair/replace. the dealer also informed me that while there is a recall on this exact problem on the 2013 ford edge, my vin number is not included. my vehicle only has approximately 45 thousand miles on it and only driven by my wife and i in and around the local area...we are both in our 70s. while researching this issue i found that there are literally hundreds of brake booster failures on the 2013 ford edge that are exactly like the failure i experienced. so why would my vin number be excluded from the recall. obviously this is a defective brake system and should be repaired at no cost to me.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving approximately 35 mph, the brake pedal traveled all the way to the floorboard without warning. the contact stated that the brakes seized often. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. the vehicle was scheduled for a check-up by an independent mechanic. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

Brakes started losing grip as i entered a 4-way stop. car barely stopped and brakes worked intermittently after. brake booster failed. an extremely common problem on ford edge cars. mine missed the chance to be covered under extended warranty by one! month. lucky the car stopped, unlucky that it was an expensive fix.

I noticed that it took more effort to press the brake pedal to get my vehicle to stop. i brought the vehicle in to be checked. they told me it is the brake booster and will need to be replaced. they told me the cost would be $1000. i found a ford customer service bulletin #13n02 that specifically explains what i am having repaired. this bulletin affects 2010 to 2013 ford edge for 10 years or 150,000 miles. i was told by the dealership my edge vin is not on the list. this is the exact same issue occurring with my vehicle and should have been recalled before it became an issue. it was lucky i didn't hit anyone or anything.

When applying brakes at start up and at slow speeds brake pedal gets hard to press. at higher speeds brake pedal becomes spongy and you don't have much brake pedal left. when in traffic and gradually moving forward break pedal becomes hard to press again. when setting at idle after warmed up pedal will go all way to floor and a loud screeching sound can be heard. problem is with the brake booster. a recall was issued for that year (2013), recall number 13no2. dealership claims it doesn't cover this vehicle because it wasn't manufactured at a specific plant. this edge has the same description of problems that lots of other people have described on line for that year of vehicle. you never know when brakes are going to be hard to press or if they're going to be spongy. vehicle has only 45,000 miles on it. a brake booster shouldn't be failing that soon unless their is an issue with quality of manufactured part.

Sudden onset of erratic braking. pedal feels incredibly firm at times, requiring significantly more pressure than normal to stop. other times the pedal is spongy and have a huge amount of pedal travel. when the brake is applied there is an audible hissing sound, and if depressed fully, there is a loud audible squealing sound.

2013 ford edge current issue: without any warning brakes started hissing and screeching. in the same day the brakes were hard to press and did not stop the car and then they were loose to the floor, but they did not stop the car. i googled and found out that some vehicles with the same year 2013 have a recall, but my vin was not included. the symptoms lead to a failing break booster. my cars information system check does not show any warnings, brakes say ok, but i am not able to drive my car. the brakes are not grinding. twice i had to swerve onto the shoulder of the highway to avoid rear ending the car in front of me. this is frightening to occur to anyone without a system warning.

While driving down a hill into town i tried using the brakes and they want completely to the floor. luckily there was no one in front of me and was able to coast to a stop in town with faint to no brakes or feedback. turns out the brake/abs module was malfunctioning causing it to dump all the peddle input pressure instead of applying it to the brakes.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. the contact stated that the brakes malfunctioned while attempting to park. the vehicle rolled, but finally stopped when the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. the vehicle was taken to sentry west lincoln (940 boston turnpike, shrewsbury, ma 01545, (508) 845-7700), but was not diagnosed. the dealer stated that there was no recall for the failure. the manufacturer was contacted and provided a case number, but did not cover the repair cost. the contact stated that unknown repairs were completed at the cost of $890. the failure mileage was 49,000. *tr power brake booster failed. (diagnosed) 'this document was illegible.'*jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while attempting to stop the vehicle, the brakes malfunctioned and caused the braking distance to be extended. while depressing the brake pedal, the pedal traveled to the floorboard. the vehicle was taken to larry h. miller ford of draper (11442 s. lone peak pkwy, draper, ut) where it was diagnosed that the brake booster vacuum was faulty and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 83,000. the vin was unknown.
