Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated the passenger side turn signal illuminated whenever he attempted to illuminate the driver side turn signal. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. the failure and current mileages were 60,000. the vin was unavailable.

My 2006 dodge ram pick up has had intermittent problems with the wiper blades coming on, or not, slowing down or speeding up with out assistance from the operator. last week my turn signals started to act up. i turn the left signal on, it shows up inside and out as a right turn, or nothing at all. my emergency flashers are not working either. i had to turn them on and only the right blinker came on, then everything shut down. i can not count on making a lane change safely, i can not count on my wipers working in the rain, and if i have an emergency stop, i can not use my emergency flashers. *tr

I own a 2006 dodge ram quad cab 1500 4x4 that has been having repeated problems with the multi-function switch that controls the wipers and the turn signals. several times while driving in the rain this issue has happened to were i have had my children in the truck with me and had to pull off the road because of not being able to see because of the wipers not working and in doing so drove into the median causing me to puncture the left front tire. i had to do this because i didn't want to have or cause an accident. my vehicle has been in the shop twice over this problem and it still isn't fixed. what does it take to get something done about this! there has been several, and i mean several complaints over this same part. does it take someone being killed or seriously injured before someone is held liable. i spent several thousand dollars on this truck, along with an extended warranty, but there is no price tag for loss of life do to someone not being held accountable for their equipment. please, we need something done to remedy this problem that millions of dodge owners are being forced to deal with. please don't let loss of life be the reason for a change because then it's too late. *tr

My turn signals do not work at all i replaced the multi switch and still nothing i have been reading on different message boards that they have the same problem so any help would be very greatly appreciated. *tr

I signaled for a left hand turn and after about 2 seconds the blinker went from left to right. now whenever i signal for a left hand turn, the blinker goes left then right after a few seconds. *tr

The blinker switch on my 2006 1500 ram doesn't work. when i flip the switch to turn right the left blinker comes on. sometimes no blinker comes on. also, at times, when i turn the wipers on they don't always come on and when they do come on they don't always turn off after turning them off. *tr

The turn signal on 2006 dodge ram 1500 fails on daily basis. turn signal to left and it turns on right signal. push indicator forward for bright lights and it turns on windshield washer and wipers. this issue has been going on for approximately two months, daily. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the turn signals malfunctioned. when signaling to turn left, the right turn signal would illuminate instead and vice versa. the dealer was contacted and advised him to bring the vehicle in for inspection. the manufacturer was also contacted and advised the contacts that he would need to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis before they would be able to provide any assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

The tail light function of the trailer wiring harness stopped functioning. still have use of brake and turn lights. this is hard to catch on a visual test since i usually check turn and brake functions. towed for weeks before i was told of the malfunction. therefore cannot see trailer at night. dealership could not fix problem. *tr

When i put my left turn signal on, sometimes the right blinker comes on. there is also an issue with the windshield wipers not turning to high speed. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the when the right turn signal was engaged, the left turn light would illuminate and when engaging the left turn signal, the right turn light would illuminate. in addition, the windshield wipers would also activate intermittently without being engaged. the contact stated that the battery failed and was replaced numerous times. the dealer was in the process of repairing the vehicle. the manufacturer was not made aware of the electrical failures. the failure mileage was 33,000 and the current mileage was 35,000.

My name is [xxx]and i own a 2006 dodge ram 1500 pickup truck. after purchasing the truck i noticed that every once in a while when i pressed the turn indicator down to turn left, the right turn indicator light would turn on. this happened once or twice a day. a few weeks later this was happening everytime i drove, also the windshield wipers would only stay on low speed. i took the vehicle to a mechanic, and he "re-set" the system. well, this worked for only a couple days. i had paid the mechanic a large sum of money to fix the problem so i could not afford to take the vehicle back. i drove around with this faulty turn indicator problem for around 6 months. this problem was such a nuisance for me, and not to mention illegal! everytime i took a left turn i would have to place my arm out the window and turn. this was such an embarrassment for me. finally i took the dodge ram truck to a dodge dealership, and they informed me that the problem was that i had a faulty "multifunction switch" and that it would cost $263.00 to replace. so i gladly paid the money and go it fixed due to the un-safe turn indicator problem. i have been searching the internet for this problem and found that several people have had this "turn indicator" problem, and it seems to be that chrysler had installed faulty "multifunction switches" in their 06 dodge ram pickup trucks. i am asking you to please issue a recall on these faulty "multifunction switches" in the 06 dodge ram trucks before someone gets seriously injured or loses their life. thank you information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

The turn signal multiswitch malfunctions constantly. sometimes both signals flash when your turning one way other times it is just the opposite side flashes. this is a major saftey issue that chrysler should have to recall. it could very easily cause an accident if another driver thinks you are turning the opposite way than you are going to turn. needs a recall, many blogs on line talking about this! *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that both turn signals and the windshield wipers failed. if the left signal was engaged the right signal would come on. when the right was engaged the left signal would come on. whenever the windshield wipers were on they would automatically switch to a high or low mode intermittently. the dealer or manufacturer were contacted. the failure mileage was 110,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that when he engaged the left turn signal he noticed that the right signal indicator illuminated. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileages were 36,000. the consumer stated the ac failed twice. updated 03/02/11

Turn signal problem - sometimes the wrong signal blinks causing other drivers to misunderstand my intent. *tr

Turn signals operate sporadically. moving the turn signal stalk to signal a left turn can result in no flashing of the left turn signal but improper flashing of the right turn signal. likewise when moving the turn signal stalk to signal a right turn the signal will not flash or sometimes will incorrectly signal left. this improper signal appears at both the dashboard indicator light and at the exterior front and rear turn signal lighting positions. additionally the wiper blades have begun failing to operate when needed. when selecting an on position on the turn signal stalk the wipers will sometimes stutter across the windshield or sometimes no move at all. when the vehicle was under factory warranty the multifunction switch was replaced. this fixed the problem the first time. the vehicle is having the same problem again but is now out of warranty. factory repair claims it will be the same replacement at owner cost. the problems happen intermittently, and can not be reproduced at will. over time, however, they are happening more frequently. *tr

I was attempting to make a left turn off the highway, and when i signalled for a left turn with the turn signal, the instrument cluster showed a signal for right turn. i pulled into the left turn lane, and the car which was behind me and continuing straight slowed down and refused to go by me, even though i was in the left turn lane and they had a clear path ahead. this indicated to me that the taillights were also indicating a right turn. there was no accident as a result of this, but the normal flow of traffic on the highway was disrupted. since this incident, i have watched closely and the multifunction switch has done the same thing several times intermittently. we live near a busy highway in the country, and often when someone is slowing down to make a right turn, the traffic behind will pass on the left. if someone is actually making a left turn, but the signal is showing right, this could lead to a fatal collision. i contacted chrysler, and they simply told me to get it fixed and hang onto the receipts in case there is a recall. i also found that 2006 dodge 3500 pickups did have an extended warranty on the multifunction switch for this reason.

2006 dodge ram 1500 quad cab. 132000 km. indicated left but right indicator light came. now also both sides flash intermittently when indicating either direction. nearly had a major accident when following vehicle misintepreted my intentions and just missed overtaking me on the wrong side. i understand several other cases of this have been reported on this vehicle and should be a n urgent safety recall! *tr

Turn signals fail to operate correctly .when left turn signal switch is operated the right signal flashes ..the windshield wipers fail to operate... *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact was driving approximately 35 mph when he engaged the right turn signal and the left turn signal began illuminating. the failure would occur intermittently when turning left or right. the vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed and was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 44,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while driving approximately 70 mph, the contact noticed that when engaging the left turn signal, the right turn signal light would illuminate. the contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently and became a constant failure as time progressed. the emergency lights would also flash on and off intermittently. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostics testing and the manufacturer was not contacted. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was unavailable. the approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

The switch on my 2006 dodge ram that controls the turn signal, wipers and light dimmer does not function properly. it turns the opposite signal on that i have specified, my wipers shut off while driving and it will not allow me to dim my headlights. driving in the rain is very difficult and turning becomes a problem becasue i never know what signal will turn on. i spoke with mechanics at a dealership who informed me that the problem is so common that the mulit function switch is now referred to as the malfunction switch. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the multi-function switch for the turn signals, washer and wipers, headlights and bright lights would fail intermittently and operated inaccurately. the dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, but denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 77,000.

Currently my dodge ram 1500 is having a problem with the multifunction turn signal. if you try to signal a turn the wrong blinker comes on, if you try to turn your high beams on or off the washer fluid comes on, if you try to turn the windshield wipers on they rarely work often getting stuck in the intermittent phase. i first found this problem when my windshield wipers would not come on in a flash thunderstorm while i was traveling on a highway at 65 mph. this is going to cause an accident, if you look there are too many people having this same problem for dodge to ignore it. if an accident occurs i will be taking any legal actions i can to make dodge liable, i just hope that nobody is hurt or killed before it is too late. *tr

Turn signal malfunction. when i move turn signal lever for left turn, the right turn lamps flash. sometimes it does not signal at all. *tr

This is a complaint about a malfunctioning blinker in my 2006 dodge 1500 ram truck. i have been reading that there are numerous complaints about this happening. the blinker starts going left when you have it to turn right and vice versa. it's crazy and so dangerous! i took my truck in to see about getting it fixed and of course the warranty went out yesterday! i hope for others sake that this becomes a recall item! thank you *tr

Turn signal lever doesn't work properly. *tr

Multi function switch intermittent failure causing turn signals to operate incorrectly, wipers and other functions also effected, occasionally causing truck to quit running along with gauges and information display to not work correctly. *tr

2006 dodge ram truck turning on the wrong turn signal, for instance you are making a right turn and you push the stalk up, the left turn signal turns on. *tr

i was driving on the highway and attempting to change lanes , i pulled down my turn signal yoke to engage the signal and changed lanes - approx 500 yards later i was pulled over by a state highway patrolman who explained that i never signaled when i changed lanes. after assuring him that i did we explored the possibility that my lights were out - after going through all the motions we concluded that my lights worked fine but for some reason , my turn signals would randomly decide not to work and work at other times for no reason. the officer let me go with a warning and a promise to look into the situation right away. after doing some research , i have found many other people with the same problem from the same automaker - dodge needs to recall all of their 2006 ram's and replace their defective parts. i believe ( from what i have read) it is the multi-function switch that needs the replacing. this is a major safety concern if people are thinking that their turn signals are working properly and in fact they are not - if it is concern enough to warrant a failed inspection from a dealership or state mandated law , why does dodge believe that it is not necessary for them to replace their mistakes ? this is going to get people killed !!!!! *tr

I have a 2006 dodge 1500 and my blinkers and my windshield wipers are not working properly. when i signal to turn left the right blinker comes on. and the windshield wipers on low start going really fast. this is very frustrating. it started at about 69,000 miles. *tr

2006 dodge ram turn signal switch, when activated for left turn both turn signals flash or will completely shut off. when activating windshield wipers during rain they sometimes turn off by themselves and i have to fiddle with the switch to get them going again while driving down the road. went to dealer they want $300.00 to fix it since its not a safety issue, wipers turning off in the rain is not a safety issue? *tr

I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 and the turn signals do not work correctly. the truck was functioning properly before and there has not been any changes or accidents to the vehicle that could have caused it. when you turn the right signal on, it will blink a few times, then the left will blink a few times, or it will go back and forth like a police car. some times both will blink at the same time. some times it has a strobe light effect. my truck had 70k miles on it when it started and it happens every day. it might not happen every time i turn the blinker on, but it does happen every day. it has made driving very dangerous, because vehicles will cut me off because they are unable to determine what my turn signals are telling them. it makes it dangerous to change lanes and turn at intersections. driving at night is even worse. this is a safety issue and should be recalled. i have done online research and found that it is a very common problem with this year and model truck. the solution to the problem is to replace the turn signal switch in the steering column. i called my local dodge dealership and they said it would cost around 500 dollars to fix. i highly stress that this issue be addressed. i strongly suggest this issue be addresses as it is only a matter of time until a serious crash will be caused by the malfunction. *tr

I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 slt that when you turn the left turn signal on the right turn signal flashes. when you turn the windshield wipers on the fastest speed is delay. the problem was happening once in awhile now it is happening on a daily basis. took it to a dodge dealership they couldn't find any problem but did change the multifunction switch. *tr

My 2006 dodge ram 1500 is having issues with the signals and wipers. serious problem when i am driving in the rain and my left blinker says i'm turning right and vice versa. wipers not working at all. i was caught in the rain today and manually had to flip my wipers and signals almost caused a wreck. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while driving approximately 35 mph, the contact attempted to engage the left turn signal but it did not respond. the failure had become intermittent and when engaging the turn signals either the opposite turn signal would illuminate or neither would function. he also stated that the windshield wiper would not operate intermittently. the vehicle was not examined for the cause of failure and was not repaired. the contact stated that the multifunction switch was previously replaced to correct the failure. the vin was not available. the failure and current mileage was 55,000.

On a 2006 dodge ram when u turn the left turn signal on u might get right left or both and it messes with windshield wipers to not good when raining or turning. *tr

The turn signals and wipers on my 2006 dodge ram 1500 are not working properly. nothing happens when i move the switch up, and when i move it down, the right blinker comes on. the wipers don't work properly, and sometimes they don't work at all. these are all controlled by the toggle switch on the left side of the steering column. today 7/29/2010 i was driving through a heavy down pour and the wipers stopped as described. the problems have been occurring for 1 and 1/2 weeks. i have read online of others having the same problems, and the fix is a new switch. *tr

Turn signal blinks opposite of direction the switch is on. i was turning left and a car almost hit me when i turned left. i noticed my signal was blinking on the right indicator light on the dash. i have now noticed it does it quite a lot. *tr

2006 dodge mega cab w/ hemi. when the blinkers are turned on ( left or right) they blink in the wrong direction or do not blink at all. on my truck they started about 1 month ago and are increasingly getting worse. now every turn they are sure to mess up. this could be a very serious issue if another vehicle think you are turning 1 way and you are actual turning another. this needs to be recalled.......... *tr

I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 quad cab truck. i have had this problem since shortly after i purchased the truck. the turn signals and the wipers intermittently do not work. also, if i put on the left turn signal the right one goes on most of the time. from research i have done this is due to a faulty multi function switch that controls the turn signals, wipers and hazard lights. the dealer has replaced this switch twice under warranty and will not replace it now that it is out of warranty. this is a real safety hazard especially when the wipers stop working driving in the rain. i have researched this problem and there are thousands of posts on the internet with people having the same problems. there needs to be a recall for this. it is a real safety issue that needs to be fixed. *tr

I had my daughter out for drivers training when all of a sudden the turn signals stopped working. we pulled into a parking lot and checked fuses but found no problem. i took over driving and the signals started working by there selves. a week later i was at a stop sign turning right all of a sudden the left turn signal started flashing alternate of the right flashing. then they stopped working all together. when i restarted the truck the turn signals started working again. yesterday the signals would work once and then stop working until i would restart the truck. the dealership said they could not diagnose the problem until the signals acted up so they could see it. i guess it's time to go to the dealer and get it fixed. *tr

Dodge ram 1500 2006 - turn signal problems. on occasion the turn signals show opposite exterior lighting when used. for example, turn switch to left or counter clockwise, the right side exterior signals will light up. sometimes they do not work at all and the hazards will not work either. this is a very significant safety issue. *tr

My 2006 dodge ram 1500 had the turn signals fail. first when i told it to turn right, it blinked left. then it stopped working. it rotates to whatever it wants randomly and usually shows an incorrect direction. i'm safer not using a turn signal than showing a left and going right. i can't use hand signals at night and most people don't understand why i'm putting my arm out the window anyway. this is a major safety issue on this vehicle. this occurs all the time now. it was intermittent (problematic for one trip) then it would fix itself for a few days. dodge dealer says they don't know what is wrong or never heard of it. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the turn signals would only function on an intermittent basis. when engaging the right turn signal, the left turn light would flash and vice versa. the vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 82,000. the vin was unavailable.

I have a 2006 dodge ram quad cab and recently the turn signal / wiper switch has been acting up. quite often when i push down to turn the left turn signal on the right comes on and there are times when no turn signal comes on at all. i was almost rear-ended because of this. also sometimes the wipers will not come out of intermittent no matter what setting i have them on. again this almost caused an accident because during a heavy rainstorm all that i could get to work was intermittent. i have read online of other 2006 dodge ram owners having these same issues. this is a huge safety concern and should be recalled. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. when the vehicle slowed down with the left signal on the right signal also came on. he stated at times they both began blinking intermittently. the failure had occurred for approximately three months. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who did not have the parts to repair it. he was advised by the dealer to notify them the next time he took the vehicle in to be service so that they could order the part. the contact was unable to provide a vin. the failure mileage was 86,500 and the current mileage was 87,300.

I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 and the multifunction switches go out very early. it causes the turn signals to come on in the opposite direction intended, and causes the windshield wipers to slow or cut off completely out of no where. *tr

I own a 2006 dodge ram 1500, purchased brand new, 40,000 miles on it now. for the past several months, i have had an increasingly frequent problem with the turn signal switch. when the turn signal is activated, sometimes nothing works at all. sometimes the wrong signal comes on. sometimes the hazard lights and windshield wipers don't work when the turn signal is activated. this occurs about 1 out of every 4 times. in researching this online, i am finding many other dodge truck owners experiencing the same issues. i contacted the dodge recall center, inquiring about possibly recalls on this and was told there are none. it is my understanding that the problem lies in the multi function switch located within the turn signal indicator and it is my opinion that with so many people reporting the same problem with fairly new vehicles, dodge should replace the defective switch at no cost to the owner. *tr
