Turn signal problems. i turn on the turn signals and either they don't work or you never know which one will come on. sometimes nothings works and other times you turn on a turn signal and the 4 ways come on. today 5/13/10 while in heavy traffic i was going to make a right turn, put on the right turn signal and nothing worked, turned on the left signal and the right one came on..now i made my turn and i cant get turn signal to go off. drove that way for 5 miles when turn signal went off by itself. *tr

Turn signal malfunction. left one would make the right turn signal come on, right turn signal would make the flashers come on. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while the contact was driving approximately 70 mph, the left signal was engaged during the lane change. unexpectedly, the right turn signal activated and not the selected turn signal. the failure occurred whenever any turn signal was engaged with the desired one would not responding properly. the vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. the contact had concern of the safety issue. the failure mileage was approximately 50,000. the vin was unavailable.
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that when he attempted to use the turn signals, they would not function properly; if he used the left turn signal, it would indicate a right signal and vice versa. periodically, the turn signal would not work and the hazard lights would not turn on immediately; they would function one after the other. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer but the dealer stated that he could find nothing wrong. the vehicle had not been repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the current mileage was approximately 78,000. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
There has be a number of occasions this has happened about probably 100 times but paid not much attention until this winter. the turn signal level is also used to turn on the wipers on the vehicle. the problem arises when the vehicle lights are turned on, the wipers are on, and the turn signal are turned on. for no reason the turn signal from the opposite side of the vehicle is the one that operates. normally when you are turning to the right the turn signal does not turn on and the left side signal turn on. in order to alleviate this problem i have to turn the wipers off completely. this causes a problem because this impairs visibility an also is giving other drivers the wrong signals. i have no idea what caused this issue but since i reside in the state of virginia it is a requirement that when it rains you must turn your lights and wipers this has caused me a problems since i depend on this vehicle and when it snows or rain i cannot operate the vehicle. i am taking the vehicle to the dodge dealer tomorrow to see what is the problem. i have not caused any accidents. some drivers had got aggravated since some times i give them the wrong turn signals. the incidents have occurred many times in the last 8 months and i have noted that is getting more frequent since we have got more snow and rain in the north east i whish i can provide specific dated but it has happened so many times that i got tired of it and i am taking the vehicle to the dealer tomorrow. i am putting today as the most current date. *tr
Much like the ram 3500, the turn signal on my 2006 ram 1500 began malfunctioning several months ago and continues to do so intermittently. at times, the left turn signal turns on the right blinker; other times, the opposite happens - left turns on right. still other times, the multi-function switch does nothing at all. in response to similar complaints about the 3500, chrysler has voluntarily issued an extended warranty on this issue for the 2006 model year. they should do the same for 1500 models as well as this is a very distracting and an obviously serious potential safety hazard. *tr
When the left turn signal is activated, immediately the right turn signal engages. the failure occurs intermittently. i've contacted the dealership and was told there is nothing they can do because the vehicle is out of warranty and manufacturer has not made a recall on my vehicle. this is extremely dangerous especially when entering the interstate. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the turn signals, windshield wipers, and hazard lights failed intermittently. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who performed a diagnostic test, but was unable to duplicate the failure. the dealer replaced the multi functional switch, but the failure was not remedied. the failure continued. the vehicle was not repaired a second time. the failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 64,200.
My husband has a 2006 dodge ram 1500. he is in iraq and only home every 4 months. i do not drive his truck except to the mail box and back once a week to keep the battery going. about 6 months ago the wipers did not want to work. it was not all the time. we thought maybe a glitch. then it was the blinkers. sometimes they would not come on at all and others the opposite blinker would come on. but since he is only home for 2 weeks and it would only happen once or twice we didn't think about it. now the wipers will not come on at all and when you turn the left blinker on the right one comes on. i did not realize it until i was nearly hit by some one trying to pass me on my left while i was trying to make a left turn. i got online to see if there was already a recall for this and saw there are many people with this same complaint. the only tsb i can find is for the dodge ram 3500. also when driving over 50mph the truck will shake violently when you press the brakes. the harder you have to press the brakes the harder the truck shakes. we have replaced the brake pads, calipers, and had the rotors turned. this is costing too much money for maybes and it is scary when you are on the high way in rush hour traffic when this starts happening. *tr
I have an 2006 dodge megacab with only 40,000 miles since we hit 34,000 miles the turn signals work intermittently or not at all. recently my wife was on the freeway and activated the right turn signal indicator and the left blinker came on she was nearly hit by a fast approaching driver from behind. i contacted chrysler corp. and filed a complaint a rep called me and stated they would by happy to cover the cost of the part if it was deemed defective by and authorized tech i would however have to cover the service fees. i explained to her that our current financial situation would not allow this and in essence this was a defective part and the manufacturer should stand behind their product she gave me the impression that they were not concerned this was an issue or even a safety issue. i stated that the repercussions of such short sightedness could be fatal for some unfortunate chrysler product owners if this is not addressed immediately as i have noticed a growing number of online forum complaints regarding this very issue. all we ask is that this issue be addressed as a recall issue and repairs be completed satisfying customer requests to ensure a safer driving experience. here is my ref #1974126 in deference to my complaint to chrysler corp. *tr
When u turn the signals on they go the opposite way or completely go off it causes the break lights to go out as well this is a major safety issue and can result in a crash this should have been recalled along time ago why haven't you done anything i my self feel this is a major safety issue it gives everyone a false direction and results "wreck" i have had multiple incidents with this it happens frequently i have replaced bulbs and it is not the problem the problem is in the factory screw up. *tr
Turn signal malfunctions. when left turn is selected, sometimes right signal flasher comes on, sometimes no turn signal comes on, sometimes it works correctly. the problem is intermittent. when right turn signal is selected, right signal flasher works normally. the problem is very dangerous as i had someone pass me on the left while i was making a left turn because my right signal was on due to the malfunction. *tr
When driving trying to change lanes i tried to signal right and my left turn signal came on then the turn signals were alternating back and forth. this has been happening on and off for quite a few years it will start working again then later break again. *tr
The interior light stays on for mere seconds, then shuts off. this is the interior light that turns on when the door is opened or the push button to turn on is pushed. after a few seconds, the light shuts off. *tr
Well some times the wipers will not work or do not work properly and the signals are completely different than chosen it does this most all the time i can press forward on the switch lever sometimes and get it to work properly but sometimes it does not. *tr
The turn signal switch will occasionally be faulty causing a hazard when turning or switching lanes. when signaling a left turn the right turn signal will come on and when signaling a right turn the signal does not work. i contacted the dealer and they were all out of the part and waiting for inventory to come in. *tr
I activated my left turn signal but noticed that my right turn signal indicator light was blinking. this problem nearly caused an accident. the problem occurs approximately 90% of the time (when using turn signal). also, my wipers have begun malfunctioning (turn signal and wiper switch located together on steering column). i do not know how to correct the problem (vehicle out of warranty). *tr
Turn signal randomly flashes the opposite direction than indicated. also will flash back and forth between left and right when either the left or right turn signal is turned on. *tr
Front light module failed at 37,122 miles, front lights failed with no advance notice. part was order by the dodge dealer, they didn't have it in stock, 1 and 1/2 month waiting for part and was not covered by warranty. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while the contact was driving approximately 55 mph, the left turn signal lever was engaged and the windshield wipers began to operate. the failure occurred intermittently. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for the malfunction. the failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
No incident prior to failure. head lights failed while driven at night on the express way at 65 mph, given no prior notice that it will fail. dealer was contacted and will be replaced. *tr
Multi-function turn signal/windshield wiper control handle on left side of steering wheel column. the defect was causing the turn signals to flash right to left when in the right turn position. i took it in for repair just a day or two after noticing the problem. the dealer service writer said there was a short in the switch and they replaced it. the vehicle was approximately two months out of warranty and my bill was approximately $300.00. i believe this to be a safety issue and would expect functioning equipment for more than three years/36000 miles. my vehicle had 35,000 miles on it at the time of repair. i was not offered the old part. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the directional signals and windshield wipers were defective. when activating the turn signals, the windshield wipers would engage and vice versa. the directional signals were also operating in the wrong direction, the left turn signal would cause the right signal to engage and vice versa. the dealer advised that the failure was a program module failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 17,000 and the current mileage was 24,000.
This first started a few years after i got the truck which i bought new. occasionally when i would turn on my left turn signal, the right or both would come on. this would also make my windshield wipers not function correctly. dealer replaced the multi function switch. same thing happened 3 more times over the next few years. now its happening again. i have narrowly avoided 2 accidents because of this happening. next, the heater/ac only works through the defrost vents. in the summer when using ac the windshield starts to freeze on the inside. causing visibility issues. also when using heat or ac the tachometer bounces around not reading correctly. all these electrical problems concern me. just waiting for the truck to catch fire going down the road!! dodge has not been much of a help. $300 a piece for multi function switch. $800 to fix the heater. and they can't figure our the tachometer. i have sent videos of the tachometer messing up, complained about the milking function switch. but nothing. all these problems definitely affect the safety. please help. lots of other people have the same problems. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while driving approximately between 45-50 mph proceeding to change lanes, the contact engaged the left turn signal but the right turn signal responded. in addition, the same failure occurred when using the right turn signal. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer twice where the battery cable was disconnected and then reconnected. also, the computerized system was updated. both faulty turn signals continued to malfunction. the failure mileage was approximately 24,000.
The problem started in 2009. went to drive the truck and could not get the truck to drive over 20 mph. was able to get it to a dealer close by and had to have the throttle body positioning sensor replaced. since that date i have had to have this same sensor changed 8 more times. each time the private mechanic talks to chrysler and they recognize there is a faulty problem with this part and will not recall the item. when this sensor goes out it will not let you drive more than about 20mph. also had to replace the accelerated pedal positioning sensor 4 times. blinker problems noted by many other consumers i have also had. where you turn on the left blinker and the right blinker comes on. as well as the a/c problem many consumers have mentioned the door breaks and then all you have is outside air coming in. my mechanic has tried to get replacement parts from chrysler to repair the problem and chrysler does not sell this part (please explain to me how they can make the vehicle and not sell the part to repair it when it breaks knowing it breaks often). tie rods have also been a problem with my truck. no matter how tight they are they continue to come loose even after being replaced and then the truck will shake. my main concern at this point is it intermittently will die while driving down the highway. it will start right back up but will die again and then it wont duplicate the problem for 2 or 3 days and then will do it again. have not been able to diagnose this problem yet. if anyone knows any suggestions to look at please advise. *js
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated the vehicle was parked with the left turn signal activated yet the right turn signal engaged instead. the failure occurred sporadically when engaging the left turn signal. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. the technician was unable to determine the cause of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact had concerns of the potential safety hazard. the failure mileage was 28,000.
Turn signals began to randomly blink on either side (or both sides) regardless which directional signal was being used. code reader at dealership showed problem with tipm. *tr
Driver side low beam head light does not work. bulb replaced, continued to not be operational. took to chrysler/dodge deal, who connected a 'code' reader which indicated the problem was the tipm. tipm was not replaced due to cost & the vehicle was out of warranty due to mileage. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. when the contact activated the driver's side turn signal, the passenger side turn signal became activated instead. another vehicle nearly crashed into him due to the failure. the failure was noticed while driving 10 mph. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and is in the process of being diagnosed. the failure mileage was 25,000 and current mileage was 26,283. updated 3/16/09 *cn the turn signal control was replaced in thee steering. updated 03/19/09. *jb
Purchased a new 2006 dodge quad cap at 33,000 miles the turn signal switch malfunctioned (if you signal to turn right the left signal would come on, and vise-versa, high beam would not turn off after getting it turned on, windshield wipers, would turn while signaling, and stop periodically during rain storms). the dealer replaced the faulty switch, and at 54,000 miles the switch malfunctioned again, and is doing same things. *tr
On my 2006 dodge ram 1500 i hit a pot hole in the road i thought that it just blowed the bulb i replaced the bulb that did not help the light burns on high beam but not low beam mechanic told me it could be the control module have not replaced pot hole should have not caused that to malfuntion.problem is still there. also heater /ac blower motor went out now i have one speed and that's high speed i replaced the motor.
I own 2006 dodge ram 1500 mega cab the turn signal and wiper switch works at best some of the time it is impossible to use the turn signals when they are turned on they just go haywire and the windshield wipers have to be turned on and of to get to work then they stop. trying to get dodge to fix the issue.. *tt
06 dodge ram turn signal indicates different direction than intended when making turns. had several close calls in 08 before realizing what was wrong. wipers also malfunction ninety % of the time. have not repaired these problems just use a lot of rainx but not my turn signals. *tr
I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500trx4. i have a serious issue with my blinkers and windshield wipers. if i turn my left blinker on, my right blinkers comes on a few times, then my left a few times, then both, and next they don't work at all. it is the same result if i turn on my left blinker, while all of this is happening my windshield wipers come on and it usually washes my windshield. it happens 9 out of 10 times i try to use a turn signal. the issue started back in march of 07 but happened very rarely, lately it is happening more frequently. this is a very serious safety issue and chrysler will not do anything about it. i have read many complaints online about this issue. should this not be a recall? *tr
