We have classified the 56 complaints from 2004 Chrysler Pacifica about STRUCTURE into the following categories.
The car leaks in heavy rain and snow. from the sunroof and the sides of both front passenger doors, the water comes out through the side impact air bags and electrical panels. this somehow also causes the car battery to die. *tr
Power seats, driver memory, pedal height adjustment all failed simultaneously at about 58,000 miles. my wife is about a foot shorter than me, and cannot, therefore, drive the car anymore. i contacted chrysler, and they were no help. *tr
Dash is cracking, in the center, starting from the windshield and going towards the passenger compartment. dash bulging on driver's side at windshield. *tr
Power liftgate begins failing in cool weather (approx 40 degrees f). liftgate will fail to latch and will drain battery. *jb
I lease a 2004 pacifica with approx 30,000 on the vehicle. several weeks ago while driving up an interstate highway i felt a front vibration and suddenly heard a loud thump. i immediately exited my car to see if i had a flat tire and noticed that what had made the noise was from losing the bottom half of my front bumper. i drove directly to my dealer whereby the front was inspected and referred to the district parts manager for chrysler. i have just received word from chrysler that they, nor the dealer, will cover this 'lost part' because i never retrieved it from the interstate where it was lying in the middle of the road and had already been run over by at least one or two 18 wheeler trucks. i furthered whether chrysler expected me to pick up this large piece in my business attire or more importantly risk my life in doing so because if i had retrieved the piece from the highway then they would consider it under warranty. i actually had the car in for a routine 3000 mile inspection 1 week prior to this incident and would have expected that something like this would have been noted by the mechanic. chrysler say's that they back their dealers which naturally solicited a response from me that they should rather back their customers first. chrysler broadcasts an excellent bumper to bumper warranty and other than my fan belt failing within two months since taking possession of the car i have not used the warranty. *nm
My 2004 pacifica will not start at times. sometimes 2 weeks can go by without incident, but then the car will not start until i hold my foot on the gas. the dealer claims that unless it happens while at their shop, they cannot do anything. also, the drivers side memory mirror will change position and make a sound like gears trying to engage but cannot. again, the dealer could not find a problem although it happens each time i use it. i complained about the transmission being sluggish from a parked position, they told me they could not find a problem. i asked them to drive it. they claim the motor mount was broken. they said it happened because of a fender bender i was in. the fender bender occurred two months after purchasing the car and i have been driving it two years since that event without problem. my headliner keeps sagging where the headliner meets the moonroof. they have fixed it now three times each time using sticky tape. it doesn't work. *jb

Extensive rust formation on all suspension components and in particular the engine cradle. on the engine cradle, rust is most prominent on the weld seams and the lower portions where moisture probably is pooling on the inside and penetrating what must be unusually porous and/or untreated metal. i am the original owner and i noticed a rust color on the various suspension parts early in the ownership. i mentioned this coloration to the dealer and they explained it as a clay compound spray that is applied at the factory to protect undercarriage from corrosion during shipping. at the time, i accepted this explanation at face value but in hindsight it probably was premature rust. i can't find any information on the internet that suggests spraying clay is actually a real practice. furthermore, the car was manufactured in canada. not much rust concerns between canada and the us. somewhat plausible if shipping overseas. unless someone informs me otherwise on this clay spraying , i think i was duped. at first this rust was just an annoying cosmetic blemish but it has progressed to the point where i am concerned about safety. *tr

I have a 2004 chrysler pacifica awd, currently has 50,000 miles. we have had problems since we drove it off the lot. time after time we were told there were no codes signifying any problems, and they could never duplicate the noises we were experiencing. climate control screen went out, this was replaced. message display went out, unable to see safety warnings, compass, menu display stalling when turning at slow speeds popping and clunking noises when turning slowly load clanging noise when shifting from park to reverse, sounds like we ran over a large metal object. leaks on driver side when raining warped rotors at 35,000 miles fuel gauge needle will plunge from f to e when there is a least half tank of gas. i have taken the car in on numerous occasions, they can never duplicate the problem noises to diagnose or fix. *nm
