We have classified the 93 complaints from 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer about EXTERIOR LIGHTING into the following categories.
Engine will shut off going down the road then after several minutes it will start again. also i have had the headlights go out driving at night they will suddenly go out.
Daylight/headlights sometimes do not turn on upon starting truck and also have shut off seven different times while driving at night forcing me to drive with fog lights and high beams on endangering not only the oncoming traffic, but my family which includes a 5 and 9 year old child. as stated in the recall and which is the exact action occurring not every time but (7 times)1 time alone is enough to be a major safety concern to me and my family, the headlamp driver module (hdm) may overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to not illuminate.this is the recall on this issue currently which 2006-2007 chevy trailblazers, yet hendricks chevy says that my vehicle is not included in this recall. this is obviously a huge safety issue especially when my family?s safety and lives are seriously in danger every time we travel or drive at night due to the recurring issue of the lights not being reliable at all times of turning on due to an overheating issue, that once again is occurring in these models yet my vin is not a part of the recall. the most recent occurrence of this issue was on july 12, 2019! please address this issue to have other vin numbers apart of this recall with whom ever necessary so my family?s safety as well as other driver?s safety are not at risk every time we get into our 2006 chevy trailblazer! again the main issue at hand is headlamps that do not illuminate reduce the driver's ability to see the roadway and reduce the vehicle's visibility to oncoming vehicles, both of which increase the risk of a vehicle crash. regards, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Headlights cutting out (completely off) at night while driving vehicle in a normal fashion and during good weather conditions with all interior lights off except gauges in dash display. no secondary lights or electronics on and on a dark road with very limited street lighting and while driving at 45mph. able to regain lights by turning switch through full range a couple of times and putting on manual mode. light sensor on dash is unobstructed.
Break lights are not lighting up but light blubs are good something to do with wiring with break lights

Headlights went out driving them came back on then off again. went to the dealer for known recall 14291 and said my specific trailblazer is not listed for the recall. this is very dangerous as i was driving in the dark for many miles. i should be reimbursed for any fixes as gm knows there is a problem not sure why it's only to specific trailblazers and not all from 2006-2007
My low beam headlights won't come on. i've replaced the relay switch, fuse once already. fine for a short time now they're not working again.
Head lamps go off at night while driving won't come back on , stabilitrack shuts off an warning bells go off for no reason. now out of the blue transmission will not work. only has 1st and 2nd, while driving on any road in town or on. highway.
Headlight and daytime running lamps go out completely. it can happen at any time wheter it is stationary or while driving. when driving at night headlight lamps go out completely making it unsafe.
My passenger side light has not been working due to the wiring melting and not being able to get this fixed. this problem should not happen
Left turn signal is intermittent. while switching lanes or in need to switch lanes the left turn signal might turn on then completely stop or won't turn on at all. the right turn signal works all the time. the left turn signal will work fine, then out of no where will stop working, then will start working fine. it does this whether the car is moving or stationary, on the highway, streets, or in my garage. the safety concern is when i need to turn it seems like i've changed my mind and might cause an accident.
While i was driving at night my head lights went off and wouldn't come back on until about 30 minutes. neither the bright or deam lights would work.

The low beam lights flicker and the go out when driving. this is caused when the #46 hdm relay/module overheats. other trailblazers have been recalled for the same issue but not mine. the is a major known safety issue. *tr

Ref:14v755000 per hte above recall, as previously submitted i had replaced the headlight bulbs at least 4 times in a 1 1/2 year period. the last time the right headlight did not illuminate i left it as is awaiting a fix. on or about the first of this month we came out of an establishment after dark and as i started to drive off it became apparent that neither low beam lights were lit. i had no choice but to drive home with high beams on, creating a safety condition for oncoming traffic as it probably blinded them. i once again installed 2 new headlight bulbs. it is apparent that gm does not consider this safety problem as being serious as they have not made a fix for it. perhaps you should hit them with a million dollar fine to get their attention to get this safety item corrected. we are perhaps fortunate because i was the one driving and not the wife on a dark country road and it suddenly burnt out. you have now been notified twice, in the event someone becomes injured because of this deflect i of course will use these advisements to you in court proceedings.

I started truck at night noticed no headlights .i had parking lights and my bright lights worked. i manually turned the light switch to off and on and still did not work. i had to drive a mile in town with my bright lights on to get home.but then the next day they were working again. this happened 9 day after i bought this vehicle.i took it back where i got it and they put in a fuse.i still have issues with the lights flickering and going dim and bright while i am driving also noticed the volt gauge moves around..i am scared to death to drive at night and to even be able to travel any where out of town if they go out while i am driving. i or some one can be killed if the lights go out while im driving.

The low beam headlights would not come on. i contacted good chevy in renton, wa on saturday 3-14-15, about getting it fixed and they said i would have to pay for it as the recall parts were not out yet. i told them i had a letter from gm that said they would replace the headlight driver module with the same as it had and when the new module comes out they would replace it for free. they insisted that i pay for diagnosis and parts and would be reimbursed at a later time when the recall was performed. i diagnosed the problem my self and purchased the headlight control module and replaced it my self. my wife drives the car to work and leaves the house at 4:30 am and she needs the headlights to work. the nhtsa campaign id number is 14v-755. gm recall number is 14291. the letter states all this will be done free of charge. *tr
Shortly after having the power control module replaced & reprogrammed through a certified shop, the daytime runners/low beam headlights began working/failing intermittently. we noticed the daytime runner lights would stop working/turn off and only sometimes turn back on. the low beam headlights turned off while we were driving to the store and we had to use the brights the rest of the way there and whole way back home.
The drivers side low beam headlight was not working. when my dad opened the hood there was an aroma of burning wire. my dad removed the rubber cap for the low beam headlight and found the plastic electrical connector to the low beam bulb was burnt and charred. my dad removed the connector in order to avoid a fire. i contacted gm customer service and they informed me that there was not a current recall for my vin number and that i would have to take it to a dealer for repair. i contacted a dealer and they informed me that the repair could run hundreds of dollars and they could not confirm that the problem would not happen again. *tr

I was driving down the road at night close to my house when the low beam headlights went off completely. i tried switching them on and off with the switch to no avail, but found that the high beams do work. there were many instances in the past where i was driving at night and thought that the lights had flickered, but wasn't completely sure until this happened. i called my local chevy dealer today, and the woman told me that she could not find a recall or even a technical service bulletin after i told her the problem i was having. *tr
