Gm safety recall 14291 dated january 2015. as of today we can not get information on parts to clear this recall up. have contacted dealership and the chevrolet customer assistance center and no one seems to know when these parts will be available. its has been over a year, do you not think they should have been available by now? what is the solution to this. thank you for your input on this. *tr

Lights start dimming while driving. passenger side headlight and rear lights keep burning out. replaced headlight twice within a year plug was melted. number 4 on the air conditioner/heater control has gone out twice. clutch fan has been replaced 4 times in the last 3 years. code says on high speed. water pump has been replaced 3 times and continues to leak after a few months. all have been on highway or in city driving.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v755000 (exterior lighting); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

My vehicle was recalled nov 24, 2014 for it's low beam headlights. the nhtsa recall number is 14v755. gm still has not found a remedy to this. they make many models of vehicles, all of which have headlights, so why they have been unable to develop a solution after 17 months is very disturbing.

While driving on a freeway at night the low beam headlights suddenly went out. i was unable to get them to come on again and had to drive 15 miles in traffic with the high beam lights on. i checked the lamps, sockets, fuses and wiring. no problems were found, so i replaced the low beam headlight relay. the low beam lights continue to intermittently fail. after parking the car the headlights begin working again. the dealer and gm say there is a recall in the works for some 2006 trailblazers, but my vin is not included. gm needs to expand this pending recall to cover all affected vehicles. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving various speeds, the headlights failed without warning. the failure recurred persistently. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

While driving down the road my headlights would go out. we put a new fuse in that has helped for a while. now about 2 months ago i shut my car off and opened the doorthe radio would not shut off so i turned my car on and back off it went off that time. i took my daughter into dance went out to get something out of my car and my headlights were still on. so i turned my car on and off looked still on so i went back to watch my daughters dance. after another hour it was time to go home walked outside headlights were still on. got home my husband looked at it and tried turning them off nothing would turn them off. so he pulled the fuses he said the relay was so hot he couldn't even touch it. so i have no dim lights unless i carry fuses with me to out in and take out or i just can't drive it at night.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet blazer. the contact stated that the headlights and the brake light would illuminate intermittently. the contact stated that while at a stop light, she noticed that there was smoke coming inside the vehicle from the vents. the contact removed the key from the ignition but the vehicle failed to power off. eventually, the vehicle powered off but restarted independently. the vehicle revved for approximately five minutes and shut off independently. the contact discovered that the fuse box caught fire. the contact distinguished the fire. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 159,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the headlights would turn off and on intermittently. the contact mentioned that on a different occasion, the low beam lights failed to turn off causing it to over heat and catch on fire. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the relay switch was defective. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 100,000 and the current mileage 101,000.

Last year, i was pulled over by a police officer for a burned out headlamp. i had it replaced and it burned out again on my 2006 trailblazer. the mechanic who looked into the issue told me it's a known problem for many gm vehicles, namely an issue with the headlamp driver module. i spent hundreds of dollars to have this fixed. i now see that the there is a recall for certain gm models - including some 06 trailblazers. however, chevrolet tells me my vin # is not included. obviously, it is an issue & more vehicles should be included. *tr

My lights started going out quite a while ago, for no reason at all. when it first started they would go out for a short period of time, and as time went on i had to revert to using my high beams, because after changing 3 switches, putting new lights in, having the wiring inspected wire by wire, (in surch of a bad wire). the low beams might come on for about 10-15 seconds when i first start my engine, (might) every once in a while, and then that go off and i'm back to using the high beams. i had to adjust my high beams down so i'm able to have lights, without blinding on coming traffic. that means i don't have any "high beams" when i need them. my vin is not in the recall, yet my lights are doing what many others have been doing. i've been dealing with this for about 5 years if not longer. and it doesn't matter if i'm driving straight, turning a corner or just sitting still, if the lights want to turn off or come back on they'll do what they want, whenever they want. the lights did not work for over 4 months, then all of a sudden they're coming on again for a few moments. they started coming on as i'm coming into my driveway and turning off my high beams. but again just for a few moments. it doesn't matter how fast or slow i'm going it happens from zero to 70+.

The low beam relay switch went out which made my headlights totally go out. no one could see me and i could not see the road. *tr

In 2014 my wife received 3 ero's for headlight being out, each time i replaced the bulb and had the ero signed off. in the first of this year we became aware of the safety recall that you had issued for a headlight module problem. soon thereafter we recieved the gm notification about the recall. my wife immediately made an appointment with the local gm dealer, hertriech's in easton md, they called the following day and canceled the appointment advising that the replacement parts are not available. since then my wife has been stopped 3 more times and issued warnings, even after showing the officers the recall letter. we decided to do a follow up on the replacement part and hertriech has stated that the replacement parts is not going to be available for up to a year. in the meantime the occupants of the vehicle are at risk for injury or even death if the other headlight decides to quit while driving on dark road at night.

Had vehicle for about 3 years now. i drive mostly at night. headlights cut off at random times. come back on randomly. when they turn off i immediately turn highbeams on. they always work. been doing this since i've owned it.

Three times while driving my trailblazer, all lights have gone out. the three times did not happen under similar driving conditions. one was while driving on the expressway at 70 mph, one was while exiting a business route at less than 45 mph, the third was while pulling up to a stoplight. i have learned to use the lighting control knob on the console, turning it to the right and back again until the lights come back on. the part of system causing the issue is unknown to me.

The head lights poor visibility

When i am driving my low beam headlights just go complete out without warning. this happens anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes of driving. my bright lights will work but not the low beam. then several hours after i have stopped driving they work again. i understand there was a recall on multiple years for this problem with the trailblazers including 2006 which is my vehicle however i still have not received a recall notification. i don't understand why not!! i have called and filled out a complaint form previously with no response. can you please explain to my why my vehicle is not eligible? updated 10/9/15 *ln updated 01/05/16.*jb

The summer of 2013 i had it brought to my attention that my driver side brake light would fail to light up as the brake was applied. i tried changing the bulb but that proved to not be the problem as it still failed to light up. the following summer the same thing happened with the passenger side brake light. i am unsure if it is an electrical problem or a sensor that has gone bad. i can only assume that it is an electrical problem due to the fact that the back windshield wiper stopped working due to electrical issues. *tr

My low beam headlights will just turn off while driving at night, but the high beams will continue to work. very scary at night, i almost went into the ditch the first time it happened. they do come back on after a cool down period. replaced the relay, but continues to just turn off at times. while researching this online, i found this to be a common problem with the trailblazer. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the low beam head lamps shut off intermittently. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 138,000. updated 4/30/15*cn

2006 chevrolet trailblazer. consumer writes in regards to vehicle head lamps malfunction. *smd the consumer stated while driving, the headlight went out. the consumer had to activate the high beam lights. the consumer received a recall letter, regarding an issue with the headlight. however, the consumer was informed the part was not available. *jb

The suv would not start in october 2012. i was told i needed a new battery, so i bought one right away. i drive the suv very infrequently, maybe only 40 miles a week. on decmber 7, 2012 the headlights started to flicker while i was driving across the chesapeake bay bridge in maryland. this was very concerning because it was getting dark out. i drove directly to a friend's house, and when i tried to park the suv the lights would not turn off. even after manually trying to turn off the lights and removing the key from the ignition, the lights would not turn off. finally the lights went out, but the battery was dead when i tried to restart the suv in the morning. we tried to charge the battery. this caused sparks by the fuse box and the lights inside the cabin began to turn off and on, even with the key out of the ignition. the headlights also started to flicker off and on and the doors locked an unlocked. i had the car towed back across the bridge to my local mechanic and was told i need a new battery. obviously the battery is not the issue. i would like to know what gm intends to do about the faulty wiring in these models and how they are going to correct the issues related to the recall notice i received in october 2012. the recall number is 12180 and i think this current problem is related to it. i received the notice and it states the parts are not available at this time and to park the vehicle outside. i called and asked if it is ok to drive the suv and was told "yes". since i must drive across a 5 mile bridge several times a week, i am concerned the truck will break down and cause an accident. i am also concerned a passenger or my pet dog could be injured. *tr

To whom it concerns, needed to report this since i believe this is a great safety problem that needs to be addressed by gm. the issue is with the low beam headlights. on my vehicle its only the passenger headlight. if you search online you can find others that have same issue but with both low beams go out whenever without notice. very dangerous on dark roads. i've had my headlight fixed many times myself and than gave up and took to where i bought vehicle. what is happening is the bulb is making connector hot enough to melt to bulb so connector and bulb both need replace it may last a year most times not. there is definitely going to cause a fire before long. this could cause loss of life. i really need this important matter looked into and gm should have to correct this problem since it's a problem for lots of people. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving approximately 65 mph at midnight, the interior and exterior lights failed. the driver stopped the vehicle on the shoulder and shut the vehicle off. after restarting the vehicle, both interior and exterior lights illuminated normally. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 72,000. updated 11/29/12 *cn the consumer stated the failure was the body control module. gm states they are unaware of any problem. updated *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated both headlights on the vehicle were inoperable. the vehicle was taken a mechanic who previously replaced the fuse within the fuse box; however, recently there was smoke coming out of the fuse box causing the failure to recur. the vehicle was not taken back to the mechanic or the dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 150,008.

Having a problem with the vehicle rpm dropping while idling and the head lights flickering and sometimes shutting off. check engine light come on and the code said it was the "idle air control valve" it only happens when the ac compressor is engaged. the problem seems to go away when the ac is turned off. have not had it repaired yet because it's a fairly expensive part. *tr

Rear brake lights keep going and having to change them bi weekly. *tr

While driving during the day all of the speakers started going in and out. this has happened for the last year. as of now only the very front dash speakers are audible but very faint. the other issue we're having is at night the headlights will completely go out. we will immediately have to pull over and wait for the car to decide when the lights will come back on. *tr

While driving, my headlights will intermittently turn off on their own. this does not happen frequently but has occurred several times per month for about 3 months duration. i had experienced this same event about 6 times before contacting gm directly. i contacted gm directly due to the fact that i consider this problem to be a safety issue. this vehicle is equipped with automatic headlights which turn on when darkness is detected. this automatic activation cannot be overridden with manual controls when the headlights turn off unexpectedly. i attempted to pull over and manually turn the headlights back on without resolution. i attempted to turn off the vehicle's ignition and restart the engine without resolution. nothing i could do would make the headlights turn back on. the headlights seem to have a mind of their own and will eventually turn back on but this is completely random, sometimes taking a few minutes or maybe up to 20 minutes. a certified gm service center claimed the issue to be with the body control module and provided an estimate for replacement. i elected to not have the dealer replace the body control module for a significant amount of money. i instead started searching for another solution. i turned to the internet and found that this same issue has been reported on this make of vehicle since at least 2002 continuing until the late 2000's. gm informed me over the phone that they had not heard of this issue before. the certified gm service center claimed that they have not heard of this issue before. a simple google search will tell you a different story. i ultimately followed the direction of a youtube video which directed me to replace a relay located on the vehicle's fuse plate. the cost of the part was approximately $30. my headlights are working again. in my opinion gm should issue a recall for this part and not the body control module. *tr

Headlamp relay, i have had to replace it twice in a matter of a year. it was completely melted and caused the headlights to stay on resulting in a dead battery. there is obviously an issue here, it could have started a fire and caused harm. i will be reporting this straight to chevy too... *tr

while traveling around town on 3/14/12, i noticed when it got dark that i did not have any low beam headlights. i was traveling on a interstate which caused me to have to use only my high beam headlights until i got home. on the trip home many drivers became very agitated due to me having to drive with my high beams. . i found online that many trailblazer owners have had the same problems, but chevrolet has not issued a recall for those problems. i have not noticed or have been told that my brake lights are out at the same time, i just want gm to own up to this defect and offer assistance in paying for this repair. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the headlights and the heating system failed intermittently. the dealer replaced the battery and alternator however, the headlight and heating system continued to fail intermittently and without warning. the failure mileage was 700 and the approximate current mileage was 57,000.

While traveling out of town on 9/29/11, i noticed when it got dark that i did not have any low beam headlights. i was traveling over 800 miles on interstate which caused me to have to use only my high beam headlights for the duration of the trip. while on the trip, i stopped at a red light when a gentlemen pulled up next to me to let me know that i did not have any brake lights either. i immediately pulled over and checked the lights and found that none of my brake lights were working. the blinkers and flashers work, but that was all. during the trip many drivers became very agitated due to us having to drive with our high beams, one person became so enraged that they turned around and followed us while trying to run us off of the road. i found online that many trailblazer owners have had the same problems, but chevrolet has not issued a recall for those problems. i contacted chevrolet's headquarters and was told that a recall has not been issued and the cost would be my responsibility. *tr

I was driving down the highway and my headlights randomly shut off at night leaving me in complete darkness! scariest thing ever when you have no lights in the middle of a busy highway. i pulled over and sat there for a couple of minutes flipped the switch for the light a couple of times and then it came back on. it has happened about 20 times since then. *js

2006 chevrolet trailblazer lt. while driving at night, lowbeam headlights go out. happens at various speeds, happens sporadically. this has occurred 2 times before. the times before was in september 2010 mileage unknown at the time while driving in my neighborhood. then on october 08, 2010, at 91,164 miles while driving home on the interstate at 70mph in the occurrences in 2010 lowbeam headlights went out while driving, then independently re-illuminated within seconds. the latest occurrence happened on april 16, 2011 at 10:50pm. i had just driven vehicle 20 minutes earlier and had no problems. my wife used the vehicle at 10:45pm and lowbeam headlights went out while driving at 40-45mph. she stated it took repeated tries with headlight switch to get the lights to re-illuminate. wife pulled turnsignal arm back and highbeam lights would illuminate the flash to pass feature. no other electrical problems present. this happened while driving in neighborhood at low speed. this is a condition that could be very dangerous at highway speeds. this vehicle has automatic headlights, they come on automatically at dusk, and the headlight switch is left in the automatic mode and never touched. i have owned this vehicle since 19,000-20,000 miles, was a gm executive/demo vehicle. *tr

2006 chevrolet trailblazer. consumer states problem with brakes and traction control light illuminating. *tgw the consumer the abs would activate when making right turns. several components were replaced, but the consumer continued to experience problems. the blower resistor was replaced due to it only working on high. the engine light illuminated, the fuel sensor was not working, the heat was inoperative, there were noise/creaks coming from the steering wheel when driving slow and making turns, the power windows and heated seats stopped working, the fuel gauge was inaccurate, the 4-wheel drive switch had to replaced, the seat belt was difficult to fasten, the head lights and tail lights sockets burned out, the fan for the heater and defroster stopped working, the transmission would not down shift properly and eventually had to be replaced, the ignition switch didn't always work and the key would sometimes get stuck. *jb

Low-beam headlights go off without warning after about 20 minutes driving. dashboard lights still on... (not a fuse problem...not a blown headlight)...after car is turned off for a while(30 minutes or so). lights will come on when car is started...problem repeats itself after 20 minutes or so...the problem is that the driver may not know the lights are off unless the street is extremely dark...making the driver a hazard to others on the road, as well as himself. *tr

While driving at night, the low beam headlights stopped working without notice. stopped at next convenience store, checked all fuses and all were good. started ignition and lights still did not work. checked high beam headlights and they worked. followed up with mechanic the following morning. could not diagnose problem and referred to a local dealer. dealer diagnosed problem as being a faulty bcm. bcm was replaced. approx. 8 weeks later, same problem w/low beam lights not working. dealer replaced relay. now low beams work, check engine light has come on and fuel gauge has stopped working. *tr

While driving down the interstate the low beam headlights shut off. we pulled over as it was nighttime and turned on the high beams. a few minutes later we were able to use the low beams again. this has happened repeatedly since then. just once in awhile until recently. just last night, july 09, 2014; they turned off at least eight times going to and from church which is about 7 miles from my home. this is a very dangerous and scary thing to happen. we mentioned it to the dealership awhile back and they said unless it was happening right at this moment they wouldn't be able to find out the problem. i love my vehicle, except for the electrical issues (lights, wipers, stereo, etc.). please help! *tr
