I was on my way to work and my car just shut off out of no where at a intersection, i was scared i didn't know what to do. the car behind me almost hit me because of it. i tried starting my car back up and it wouldn't roll over or make a sound and my brakes were like locked up . but all my dash lights were on and my air bag light kept blinking and my radio was working. after about 6 times trying to start my car it finally started up and the air bag light went off for like 2 minutes and came back on and my turn signal stopped working and started making a buzzing sound . til this day if that air bag light is on my car wont start and sometimes i can put it in neutral and it will start . every once in a while my car will accelerate on its own and when i put it in park it sounds like my car is just going to blow up because it sounds like my foot is on the gas . i took my car to advanced auto and got a free testing on it and my starter is good and so is my battery i recently got a new one . so i don't know what it could be . but i have noticed that alot of older impalas have this same problem because i have googled and searched online . *tr

Hit a pot hole on the highway. key fell out of the ignition, was able to retrieve the key off the floor and restart the car while driving. i think that my knee may have hit the key knocking it into the accessories position resulting in the key falling out of the ignition. i just left moran chevrolet in clinton township, mi to have the ignition key recall fix. i notice the key can still be removed in the accessories position. in my opinion all the fix did for gm recall 14350 was add more weight to my key by putting a larger, heavier head on my key. nhtsa campaign number: 14v400000. *tr

As i was driving home from work i accidentally went through a red light and t-boned the other car. although no one was hurt, there was extensive damage to both cars. my concern is the airbags never went off. i have always thought this was strange. now that i'm hearing about the impala recall due to faulty airbags it raises more concerns, because now this is my sons car. my understanding is the 2000 impala's are not part of the recall but maybe they should be. there is absolutely no reason those airbags should not have deployed. now i'm am concerned if my son is ever in an accident he will not have the airbags as a safety net. should the 2000 impala's be part of the recall also? *tr

Airbag light came on and flashed and stayed on. vehicle taken to dealership, and replaced. i was told that the airbag module had an internally open circuit and causing dtc. they replaced the airbag at the cost of $445. there was no tampering on my part, obviously there is a defect so why do i the consumer have to pay for it? this is a huge safety concern, i am a paramedic/ lt and know how well airbags work. just thought you should check into this matter and hopefully no one will be injured because of others who have not reported this to you. *jb

Regarding 2000 chevrolet impala ls vin [xxx]. my local dealer wants to replace the side impact airbag for a considerable fee. i believe per recall #00v371000 that this should fall under this recall as it is exhibiting the same symptoms as the recalled airbags, however gm has not marked this car for recall, and refuses to pay for the airbag replacement. the dealership describes the problem as, "code b0041 lh frt side deployment loop open. needs lh side air bag module replaced." information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Reported to the dealershiip that ther air bag light displays on and off during driving. the service department ran it through a scanning machine and found the air bag defective. they said it could prematurely deploy during driving or be disabled during an accident. all air bags needed to be replaced.

Air bag readiness light stays on while driving. it was brought for service and was told that it?s a loose wire. okay for a month. now comes on intermittently. reported to gm, incident#1-114736540. was told no other person has had this problem, to take for service again, it could be a different problem. spoke with the service manager and was told as long as the car isn't stalling, probably it?s just a loose wire again. emailed gm again and told that they apologize for any concerns, but are unable locate a previous request, or create a new one with the information i provided. i do not understand this response. the owners manual states this indicator light checks ,the air bag system: the electrical, the air bag module, the air bag sensors, the wiring and crash sensing and diagnostic module. that the bag could go off without a crash, or might not go off in a crash. to me this is a safety hazard. i know 2 other people with the same year vehicle that have the same problem. *la
