Problems with 2000 Chevrolet Impala AIR BAGS

Consumer stated that some wires shorted out in the air bag module causing air bag to become inoperative. ts

The air bag light illuminated intermittently since 12/02. the dealer stated the air bag internal wires may be corroded. *jb

While pulling out of a parking lot a toyota pick up slammed into consumer's vehicle driver side middle door. upon impact, none of the airbags deployed. please provide any further information.*ak

While traveling about 40 mph on the highway another vehicle jumped in front in consumer's lane and hit him. upon impact, dual air bags didn't deploy. dealership has been notified.*ak

Consumer states that while driving at any speed and no warning the air bag light comes on and the air bag could be inoperative in the event of a vehicle accident. dealer notified. nlm

While pulling out of a parking place another vehicle traveling at about 35 mph hit the consumer's vehicle on driver's side middle door, none of airbags deployed. *ak *scc

At 40 mph vehicle rearended another vehicle, neither airbag deployed. driver suffered injuries to head/knee and ankle. damage to vehicle unknown. *ak jlg

Vehicle has been taken in to dealer 7 times to get air bag light fixed because light will continuously come on. contacted dealer, and the dealer cannot find a remedy.

My air bag light comes on intermittently. had a fender bender in july of 2006, air bags did not deploy. i asked mechanic at auto collision shop if bags looked ok and he replied that he noted no defects. light has been coming on for years now. *tr
