Takata recall - i have contacted my local vw dealer several times (at least 3) to inquire about repairing the vehicle, but they said they have repeatedly said they don't have the necessary parts / airbags to remediate the recall. the vehicle runs fine. i have also filed a claim through the ch. 11 takata bankruptcy.
Takata recall i have had my volkswagen passat since may of 2015, since then my journey as a customer has been frustrating and a very scary experienced. once i got the car within a week i took it to mechanics to get the usual diagnostics done to ensure the safety of the car. it automatically had the tire warning light on till date after tire changes, diagnostics, and timely services. my car's steering control has been a very big issue, turning and the performance of the vehicle ended up to be very unsafe as if i will lose control of the car one day. i have gone to get wheel alignments, tire changes, arm control changes and other several remedies that always tend to resolve in the same issue within weeks. i have put $1000 within the last 4 months and i have still a car that is going to fall apart very soon. i am also experiencing the air bag signal being off every time i enter my car and i am driving. as a young mother and student, i have found this car to have too many issues and every unreliable. to have entered my vin in the recall system and realizing that my car has a rotating clock issue with no remedy has had me very worried, and i am afraid to drive my children in a vehicle that has no safety features that are due to fail in case of an emergency. i in some unsafe weather conditions pay for mta or cab services to get to locations safely. to have a remedy that is unfound as of yet puts my family and myself in harms way.
My airbag light on my car came on and none of the controls on my steering wheel work including the horn. i looked on the vw website and saw that there was a recall. i called the dealership and they said there was no repair. this is concerning because i drive a lot of interstate miles each week. saturday i received a letter from volkswagen about the airbag recall and it says to contact the dealership immediately for repair due to safety issue but when i called the dealership, they had no part to repair it. i am driving without a working airbag and am very concerned!

I was making a turn into my drive way, when i heard a cracking noise. at that point my heads up display showed 'airbag error' and my airbag led lit up on the instrument panel. the horn and other controls on my steering wheel are no longer functioning. we took my car to the dealer and they were able to verify that it is in fact the clock spring, but are not sure if it will be covered as part of a recall yet.
The clock spring failed and air bag light was on in my 2013 passat. i took it to dealership and because volkswagen had just acknowledged a recall i had to pay for the repair and they said i would be reimbursed. now volkswagen is saying my vin is not in the recall. how can they recall and pay for vehicles that haven't even had the problem but refuse to cover mine?

My daughter was hit in an accident that crushed the front end of the vehicle jamming the front doors and the air bags failed to deploy. this causes great concern that the air bags are faulty in the 2013 vw passat. the car was so severely damaged she had to crawl out the back doors of the car as the engine was shoved in.....updated 11/18/14 *bf updated 8/12/2015*js *tr
Company is claiming that an outside influence of a spill on passenger seat has caused the air bag fault that disables the airbag. *tr

My name is [xxx]. my wife and son was involved in a head-on collision back last year on may 02, 2014. wife was sitting still at a light waiting for light to turn green in order to turn left when a car heading from opposite direction ran a red light slammed into another vehicle and then slammed head on into my wife's car which was sitting still at approximately 55 mph and then air bags in the car did not deploy. due to the impact, wife's head was slammed into steering wheel giving her a concussion and blacking out and getting hurt badly and my son was sitting in passenger seat and jarred around pretty good. i am very upset as how the airbags should have deployed and they did not. it is my firm belief there is a manufacturer defect in the airbags on this car and possibly many more. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr updated 4/5/18*jb *tr
These steering wheel components stopped working: horn, turn signals, high beams, windshield wipers, and cruise control. not sure if air bag will in case of a car wreck. instrument panel displays the following message: "button for driver assistant system defective". been an ongoing issue for the past since buying the car 2013, roughly 5 years ago. volkswagens technicians repaired the issue multiple times on seperate occassions *while the vehicle was still under warrant.
Car owner was driving at approx. 60mph reached across the seat the car swerved she over corrected twice due to very "touchy" steering. the car then careened across four lanes of traffic, and down a 30ft embankment bouncing off several trees. then striking one head on with enough force as to bend and push back the frame. none of the five air bags this car is factory equipped with deployed. the driver sustained many bumps and bruises along with a shattered ankle which required surgery to place two steel plates in her ankle. recovery is expected but it will take several months. upon reporting the crash and non-deployment of the air bags to the dealer where the car was purchased, all the salesman had to say was "thanks for getting our lemon off our lot". *tr
Brand new car and the plastic over the steering wheel airbag is cracking and disintegrating. it has formed a crack that is starting at the bottom and forming a circle around the emblem in the center. resembles a question mark. picture of it starting shown here in the lower right of the emblem. http://s191.photobucket.com/user/lightflyer1/media/2013%20passat%20tdi%20sel/img_20130603_122923_zps5dbe1ca3.jpg.html other reported occurrences at www.tdiclub.com http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?p=4206936#post4206936. *tr
Takata recall. no remedy is yet available and this vehicle is unsafe to drive as a result of the defective airbag.
1. the lighting recall i have had my car serviced at least 4xs for light.. the light is still not fixed, every time the hood is open and closed the light goes out. 2. i was sent recall letter about airbag, i went to have it fixed and was told that the sensor got wet and its my responsibility and was charged alomost 1k to fix it.3. my car while driving says settings are not accessible, this is constant and its not as though im trying to change the settings, while driving. also the last time i took my car in for service i paid for my ac filter to be changed and it wasn't they said my tires were ok they were not. i have been kicked out of one dealership because the service manager was clearly a racist. i have had so many problems and when i call vw of america im put on hold, just to be told that there is nothing they can do. now they are calling me over, and over to extend my warranty, i paid for my car in full.. i cant get one person to take my issues seriously, i can barely see the road when driving, the cars settings constantly change. last but not least i paid for cosmetic issues and had a new battery put in all while under warranty. because the service manager kicked me out of dealership.
