Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2019 Volkswagen Jetta

When putting my car in reverse and backing out of a spot brakes make a high pitch ringing. also, when parked muffler/ tail pipe on the left side, it gurgles as if water is boiling in it. car is less than a year old.

The vehicle is a 6-speed manual transmission. the vehicle will stall out when coming to a stop. not user error, since the stalling happens when the car is in neutral - coasting to a stop. stall out is very soft - akin to just shutting off the engine. this happens nearly every stop after running the car for about 15 minutes. this phenomenon is repeatable and extremely unsafe.

Sunroof spontaneously exploded and shattered into pieces while moving.

While driving about 70mph on the highway, car in motion, going straight, not turning, i hear a loud pop. the sound was similar to a gun shot. in fact, it was so loud it startled me, causing me to swerve to the left, almost hitting the car in the lane to the left of me. i frantically looked around the oustside of my car, and noticed the sound of wind above my head was loud and then saw broken glass all over the passenger seat. the sunroof had broke, and i know for sure it was no rock or outside cause. it was still daytime, and i never saw anything fly at me. there was not an overpass or bridge to drive under for about 8 miles. so, i know nothing had dropped onto and threw the window. curious about this, i look up online 'defective broken sunroof vw jetta 19' and find multiple stories of people having similar experiences. i guess this is happening more often with a lot of makes and models of cars, because the sunroof is a common feature put in cars nowadays and they are larger in size. also, i found out vw is in court now for older models of their cars having defective sunroof, and they know they were poorly designed but still put them in and sold them with no disclosure to thw customer of the poor quality sunroof. this happened 12/29/19, and as of now the dealership wont fix it. vw wont fix and claim that their engineers are saying the window broke from the outside, like from a rock. these engineers are concluding this by looking at pictures. they are not investigating my car in person but by pictures sent to them. if one looks at the sunroof of my car in person you can see that the glass has broken up and out ward towards the sky not downward towards the seats, which is what a rock would do. they want me to call my insurance and have them deal with it. this is frustrating and not right of vw. i almost wrecked, so this surely could cause a death or someone getting hurt

I have the 2019 jetta sel premium that includes the beats audio system upgrade. the speakers rattle and sound blown starting at just below 50% volume. i am at the dealer and they are inspecting the issue. there are many complaints of this on public forums. it seems as if the stereo head unit is too powerful for the speakers or is improperly allocating power to the speakers instead of the subwoofer. it is definitely not right whatever the issue is. this occurs on fm radio, satellite radio or iphone apple music via carplay.

I have a 2019 vw jetta gli and the car stalled while i went coming to a stop or preparing to turn, even with the clutch pressed and the car in neutral it happens like 5 times per day

Grinding noise from transmission when travelling at 30-40 mph. sound is loudest in eco mode. having the same issue that many others have stated online with the 2019 jetta, and it sounds like vw is aware of this problem but say it's normal since all of the 2019 jettas are doing this.

When grabbing things from inside the vehicle through an open window, pushing your body against the door with keys in a pocket may cost the vehicle to think that you are pushing on the door lock button and hence closing the windows when you are retrieving things inside and the windows take too long of a time to sense that something is blocking the windows and hurt whoever is retrieving items.

When vehicle reaches 30-40mph, there is a loud rattle sound on the driver side of the vehicle. sounds as if pipes are loose under the hood or under the car. the rattle sound happens during acceleration randomly at any speed. the sound is reduced when in sport mode and does not make rattle from 0 to 30-40mph, but does make the rattle sound during acceleration. during my research i've noticed there are a ton of my same model vehicle that are having the same issue. i took the car to the dealer two weeks after my purchase to have if checked out, the mechanic brushed me off and said it was normal. my brand new car should not should like pipes are loose and rattle during acceleration. its really embarrassing and i hope this does not cause a safety issue in the future.

2019 jetta se automatic transmission i have been having issues since i purchased my jetta in january 2019 it seems like my car has a serious lag. i was driving and went to make a left turn and as i was accelerating out of the turn the car wouldn't go for a little while then it shot off.. i noticed that it does it when i slow down also it have very slow response time with the acceleration. it doesn't it every so often. maybe about once or twice a week also when the 'auto engine turn off' is engaged the car lags and sometimbes doesn't want to go.. sometime i have to turn the car off and back on. or shift it out and back into gears at red lights or drive through i take it to the dealership savannah volkswagen and they say they can't find a issue or a fix. i honestly don't feel safe driving the car.. especially with my kids

2019 volkswagen jetta gli 35th anniversary edition 6 speed mt odometer: 408mi built 12/2018 in mexico vehicle intermittently stalls when coming to a stop with no cel. the dealership was unable to recreate or diagnose the malfunction because it's occurrence is intermittent and there are no codes left in the ecm or tcm.

Jetta 2019 makes a grinding noise when putting the gear on reverse(manual car). even if stationery for more than 3 seconds it makes a grinding noise. there is something defective on the car that the dealership is hiding from me. i dont feel safe driving the car knowing its defective

Transmission issue low speed loss torque converter issue

At complete stops (6 speed manual transmission) occasionally the engine stops. it has happened countless times while in traffic. engine turns off but everything electronic is still operating. was at a stop light and light turned green. engine turned off and had to start the vehicle up in heavy traffic.

2019 jettas with a production date before january 2019 have trunk lids that need to be pushed all the way back or you risk having the trunk lid fall on your head causing possible injury.

Around 35 mph, i hear a grinding noise (not exactly sure where it's coming from). i did call the dealership but was told this is normal. seems like i'm not the only one.

While in neutral, the engine shuddered a little and then cut off. this has happened multiple times. most recently i was stuck in the middle of an intersection while i had to restart my car.

All sensors including airbag and abs reported errors. vw representative over the phone said it does not sound safe to drive. dealership claimed no issues found with the vehicle. rattling sound which is persistent after vw installed a software update for a known issue with the transmission shifting gears. while the engine running and changed from park to reverse, the car rolled forward and transmission would not respond to attempting to accelerate. vehicle rolled into a pole which stopped it from moving forward while in reverse. all photo and video documented. volkswagen claims this proof does not matter because 'there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. there is also a residue from manufacturing on the windshield which they have attempted multiple times to remove, and the issue is still persistent. they refuse to replace the windshield or admit the problem is from manufacturing. multiple trips to have the vehicle serviced and continued to be told 'nothing is wrong' and my documented proof 'does not matter'.

The person on the other end of a phone call made via cars bluetooth and carplay, will hear an echo of themselves. the dealership replaced the radio, but the issue remains.

Took my car in for an oil change and the dealership notice my transmission was leaking. also have been making a grinding noise since i bought it.

My brand new vehicle has been stalling. engine struggles to turn on after electrical system is down. vehicle states that the air temperature control sensor is malfunctioning and vehicle completely stalls w/o power. engine fails. electrical fails.

This car has vent issues and cowl seal issue. the seal is not tight and the inside the windshield and window freezes

1. 1800 miles-transmission fluid leak, the service people told me it was a known problem with 2019 jettas, repair took 2 months 2. heater doesn't blow out warm air when traveling under 40 mph, even after 18 miles of driving 3. grinding/croaking noise like a frog at 28-30 mph and again at 40 mph 4. brakes squeak 5. trunk falls on my head unless i push it all the way up per owners manual addendum

On very cold days (below 10 degrees f), the car does not produce heat. my wife drove it 20+ minutes without the temperature gauge ever moving. this problem poses a safety threat because of inability to defrost the front windshield, and threat of hypothermia. the dealer acknowledged the issue as a common problem but did not do anything to correct the problem because they were unable to duplicate the problem on significantly warner days.

Since day one of ownership, the front speakers on my 2019 jetta r-line have sounded abnormal/defective. there is a huge thread on reddit regarding this issue and is apparent upon all trim levels. this rattling sound is exponentially more noticeable on the front passenger side. you can notice this defect during any genre of music if the correct frequencies are apparent in the song you're listening too, the rattle gets louder if your volume is over 50%. i took my car to the dealership to have them document this widespread concern. both the service advisor and lead foreman sat in my car with me and it was easy to replicate the issue using the balance/fader. the technician agreed that this is indeed a design flaw and ordering replacement components will only result in the same thing. at the end of my appointment the service advisor deemed the concern as a "normal characteristic" of the vehicle. it literally sounds like blown speakers or as if they are covered in liquid! i've only called vw customer care once about this and they refused to put me in touch with my regional vw representative. i'm planning to call them again, this is extremely disappointing as it's progressively getting worse.

Forward collision assist system unabailable

Trunk has randomly opened numerous times even after it has been fully closed. this has happened while i'm driving or while the car is parked, and the trunk just becomes loose and slightly ajar. immediately after, i will close the trunk, which secures it, but then at some point it becomes loose and open again.

Trunk lid does not stay open unless it is pushed up all the way, multiple passengers when using the trunk in different occasions were hit by the trunk lid. when traveling low speed on cruise control vehicle speed will be lowered when getting close to another vehicle in its lane but if the immediate car switch lane at the same time another vehicle get into your lane, the forward collision system has a delay in detecting is there vehicle there or may not identify the vehicle joining your lane as a vehicle immediately and may suddenly increase speed as no vehicle was detected and result in a rear-end collision.

Rear trunk lid does not remain open resulting in the lid crashing down on my head when i'm putting stuff in the trunk or taking stuff out of the trunk.

All issues written here have been happening since day of purchase, as of june 2018. vw currently denies issues and claims reports are of normal operation of vehicle. i love this car i just want vw to provide a fix. vehicle has a continuous grinding noise coming from behind engine area when vehicle is in motion accelerating from 27- 30mph after that it subsides. sounds of grinding depends what drive mode your are in. eco has the loudest noise. many other reports suspect transmission problems. vehicle while stationary has a strange noise coming from the front left engine area that sounds like a rotation humming grind noise, usually occurs after vehicle was in motion and then stopping at a red light. vehicle while in motion blind spot monitor on driver side mirror lights up during bad weather even when no vehicle is present in blind spot. also, can happen when there is no bad weather. vehicle while in reverse during rain if equiped with drive assist will automatically break stop for you while no vehicle is present. winsheild wiper blades leave streaking marks into windshield that doesnt go away. paint also easily chips when pebbles from highways hits the hood of the car. i have taken the vehicle to vw north hills 1cochran pittsburgh pa they stated they do not know about the grinding noise, and it was most likely the turbo charge engine. they also investigated the blind spot monitor stating sensor is dirty just needs cleaned. that's also false becuase after vw north hills 1cochran cleaned it on a clear sunny day as i left the dealership the blind spot monitor came on intermittently. this vehicle at time of report has 23000 miles on it has it drives a lot of highway. risk of vehicle accident while accelerating usually between 30-80mph with known issues are high. please investigate.
