Takata recall. car hesitates to speed up, abs light come up some time and go off. light cover all the signal p r n d s when the gear lever is on drive (d).

After months of car bogging eventually my check engine light went on. code read for oxygen sensor. shortly after epc light came on. car wouldn't move. after research i found that many jetta's hv this issue. recall?

While driving the vehicle all of a sudden starts to beep and the abs light, epc light, check engine light, brake light, and skid control light show. the vehicle sometimes loses the speedometer reading which drops to 0. this sporadically happens, sometimes it'll stay for days and other times it'll go away after 10 minutes and not appear again for a day or two. it seems to be happening more and more frequently. it happens when in motion and when starting the vehicle. this makes it very difficult to drive since the speedometer malfunctions and in the snow the vehicle seems to handle worse than usual and the brake system does not kick in every time. the abs module seems to be malfunctioning. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph, the vehicle would start to decelerate when depressing the accelerator pedal. the instrument panel lights all illuminated. in addition, the contact stated that while driving and depressing the brake pedal to come to a complete stop, the brakes would make a squeaking noise. the abs, the bracket and engine warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed but was not repaired. the vin was included in a manufacturers recall where the abs control module software needed to be updated. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. the contact stated that while driving at any speed and depressing the accelerator pedal, the speed reduced and the vehicle failed to accelerate without warning. the vehicle was restarted but the failure reoccurred. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the valve body had failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

Going down the interstate at 70mph beside a semi, the car slightly (not enough to take me out of my lane) pulls to the side & ding! ding! ding! 'abs' & 'esp' lights come on & the emergency 'brake' light on the dash starts flashing. no additional symptoms that i noticed on the next 15miles to work, just the dash lights. upon arriving at work i park & shut the car off. restart it. and everything appears as thou it was an aberration. no lights. no dinging. from a car that goes nuts when you're simply just low on wiper-fluid, it could be something major like an abs module or 'speed sensor' (from what 100s of other owners say online) or something 'minor' like a corroded fuse. needless to say, while i'm wincing at the potential repair costs, i'm in fear of & dreading my drive home this evening. i'm glad no one was hurt this time but as we all know, the odds are someone is going to get hurt. whatever is causing this problem for numerous vw owners is a safety issue. if abs & traction control are mandatory features on a car via the nhtsa, it stands to reason that rampant problems such as vw jetta owners are experiencing is a manufacturer's quality issue. it's not normal wear & tear. i actually trust the nhtsa to do the right things here; find out what the problem is & make vw fix it. the only other option the nhtsa has is to ignore a blatant problem with the abs & traction stability controls of a mass production family sedan/vehicle. *tr

As i was traveling from ft collins back to denver on the i25 freeway going approximately 65 mph when my car suddenly lost power. when i pressed on the gas pedal all i heard was the engine revving but no power. i was able to move my car safely to the shoulder of the freeway by sheer luck of the time of day this happened and then promptly called a towing company. *js

My jetta lost power from going 60mph to 35-40 and after a min it shut down on highway. i managed to push it on a shoulder and tried to start again but nothing happened. i towed it away to mechanic and found out that my high pressure fuel pump shattered and released bunch of tiny metal peaces in to the fuel filter and engine. mechanic told me that it happened because of a design flaw with the pump that vw admitted but haven't done anything about that. so i'm wondering what if a semi truck came at the same time and hit me would they do something about it then? *tr

Traveling at highway speeds when glow plug indicator light started flashing and engine power was immediately lost. engine failed to hold idle and stalled while car was moving with clutch engaged. engine was able to restart and mil light illuminated, glow plug indicator light flashed and driver information system indicated engine malfunction. car had no acceleration and had to be towed to dealership. vw service technician indicated fuel pump failure and showed evidence of metal filings in fuel injection system. *tr

After returning from a service at the dealer, my 2009 sportwagen instrument warning lights displayed a flashing glow plug light followed immediately by a message to bring the vehicle to in for service. we were four houses down from our drive, and as we pulled into the driveway, the vehicle shut off and would not restart. it was towed to the dealer who reported metal debris in the fuel filter indicating a high pressure fuel pump failure and a cost for replacement parts (entire fuel system) totaling over $5000. this is a certified pre-owned vehicle, owned for less than one year. i called and filed a claim with vw usa. *tr

Vehicle began stalling at stops at about 55000 miles. vehicle at complete stop, take foot of brake and it either (1) rolls then moves forward, (2) lurches/shutters and moves forward or (3) stalls before putting foot on gas. the stalling has become more frequent in the last month and on may 31 2013, the vehicle stalled multiple times and on one occasion did not restart after approximately half dozen attempts but finally managed to restart. the vehicle is going in for service to hopefully identify and fix this issue on june 3 2013. the lurching forward can be drastic and the potential for "jumping" forward into another car and causing an accident is now a real concern. *tr

Car stalled again after new exhausted flap was installed (1ko-253-691-e ) . as per other older complaint odi # 10476791.vw paid $646 for new part but refused to pay labor $183.93. now on the new exhaust flapper they gave me a new part free, but it cost me $529.63 for new sensors along with labor for the install. per the auto shop there has been a lot of changes in this part . the customer is engineering this part for vw. *tr

Abrupt deceleration to 30mph from 50mph d/t vehicle in front of me hitting their brake and turning. then i accelerated to get back to the posted speed of 50mph. when depressing accelerator at approx 40mph heard a loud "pop", loss of power, glow light on dash came on and warning. loss of power with 3 cars coming behind me so i quickly moved to the shoulder and restarted the car. car turned over but was in "limp" mode - i was less than 1 mile from my house, so i pulled out and "limped" home. contacted vw on monday 11/14/11 and my dealership. the car was flat bedded to the dealership and hpfp failure was diagnosed, vw paid in full for complete replacement of entire fuel system. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta sportwagen. the contact stated they were attempting to park the vehicle and when she applied the brakes, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. the contact was unable to stop the vehicle until she crashed into the front of a glass building. there were no injuries, a police report was filed. the contact also stated that the air bags did not deploy. the vehicle was taken to the dealer to determine what caused the failure and the dealer stated they could not find any error codes. the failure and current mileage was 29,000. updated 10/12/11

When starting to move the car such as at a stop sign or at an intersection, when putting the accelerator pedal down to start the vehicle moving, the whole car almost stalls as engine power disappears for a terrifying few seconds. *tr this is very dangerous because you pull out into traffic and expect the car will move forward and not stall. i went onto a vw forum and learned that this is a common problem for vw. *tr

Was driving on residential street, approximately 25-30 mph, and car just lost power and stalled. after a few minutes it could start again - but the vehicle would not move, even if gas was pushed down. after a week at the dealership - they said it was the throttle. my car would not start before (after only having the car for approximately 7 months and approximately 2000 miles) - and after having it towed to the dealer, they just said the fuel was gelling. but they did do a computer upgrade and said there "particles in the fuel line" that they cleaned out and said i may have gotten "bad fuel". 1 week after my 40000 mile routine maintenance check - my glow plug light went on and i had to have a sensor replaced.

Car stalled while accelerator was pressed. stall lasted about 3 seconds. stalling occurs about once a month. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. the contact stated that while pulling into a parking space the vehicle accelerated without driver intent and crashed into the front of the store. the impact stopped the acceleration. no injuries were reported. the police and fire department filed a report and it is available. the vehicle was towed to a local repair shop to be repaired. the insurance company contacted volkswagen and stated that they had no other complaints related to the failure on file. the failure and current mileages were 2,000. the vin was unknown.

When at a stop sign or after applying the brake, there is a long lag before the accelerator will engage. once when stopped at a stop sign, i let the brake pedal go and engaged the accelerator because there was oncoming traffic. the car rolled into the oncoming lanes and only when i reached the third lane did the accelerator engage. an oncoming large pickup was accelerating away from his traffic light and almost broadsided my car. he apparently didn't see me until almost upon me. this long lag between letting the brake go and pressing the accelerator has happened several times since i purchased the car. the boardwalk vw people of richardson, tx as well as the university vw people in albuquerque, nm said the this was because both the brake and acceleration depended on hydraulic pressure that is shared between them. they also said that they have reported this to vw and vw said that this was designed this way on purpose. i think that this is a very dangerous situation. *tr

Vehicle was turning into a parking spot, driver had moved foot from accelerator pedal to brake. suddenly, engine surged and vehicle began to accelerate. the driver applied significant brake pressure to halt vehicle and turned off ignition. vehicle subsequently drove normally and dealer inspection found no problem. *cn

Tl*the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. while driving approximately 45 mph, the engine began to rev excessively high. there was no response when the accelerator pedal was depressed. there were also no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle finally resumed normal operation after the accelerator pedal was depressed several times. in addition, the vehicle exhibited unintended acceleration. the failures occurred spontaneously. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but they could not duplicate the failures. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer on three separate occasions for identical failures, but there were no resolutions. the vin was unavailable. the failure mileage was 2,500 and current mileage was 4,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta tdi.(na) the contact stated that while driving 30 mph and merging into traffic, the vehicle stalled suddenly when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who could not duplicate the failure. the contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. the failure mileage was 11 and the current mileage was 30,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. the contact stated that the vehicle would intermittently hesitate while accelerating from a stop. the contact applied pressure to the accelerator pedal but the vehicle would not respond for a few seconds. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer several times but the failure could not be diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 15,000 and the current mileage was approximately 50,000.

While driving, vehicle transmission disengaged resulting in no power to maintain speed. this occurred twice, once on a rural highway traveling approximately 60 mph and once on the interstate traveling approximately 70 mph. with the first occurrence the transmission re-engaged after a few seconds. with the second occurrence, the "prnds" shift indicator light began flashing and i had to merge over through traffic into the emergency lane to avoid high speed traffic, all the while having no power. i then had to shut the engine off and restart it to clear the malfunction. i scheduled an appointment at the dealer for repair and a sensor(s) were replaced on the transmission's computer. since the repair i've not had another malfunction. this malfunction poses a serious hazard as one loses the ability to maintain speed in traffic, resulting in a stalled vehicle situation. *tr
