While driving on the freeway my prdns lights were in red lit up at the same time.not sure what type of warning it is, however it cannot be good..

Hi, i have a 2009 jetta 2.5 se and the door locks stopped working g both manually or with the key remote. i cannot lock my doors except for the driver door. it started this morning out of nowhere.

Key will not turn to start the car '. ( i search online and there many ' many... many issues with the 2006 to 2012 vw jettas. there also many... many... many cases online about car will not turn off do to the key no turning ) call the service department in delaers and have many issues with same problem. keys getting stuck or not turning to start or to shut off the car, they will need to complete run of the gas or unplug the battery to safe turn off the car.

Key will not remove from the ignition . car will not cut off. key stuck in the ignition. tried moving the steering wheel and moving gears to place back in park. i had to remove fuse 15 and remove battery cable to shut car off. key is still in the ignition .terrible inconvenience

Ignition key was hard getting it to turn on finally got it to turn on and then when i got home it wouldn't turn off took me 45 minutes to finally turn it off

The headliner adhesive for the vehicle has come unglued and is causing the fabric to sag and prevent a clear line of sight. this is a latent safety defect. from a reasonable search on the internet it appears that many jetta owners have had the same issue, indicating a common manufacturing issue. the adhesive that was used is the same as the adhesive used on the remainder of the interior panels which are also coming off.

My key is stuck in the ignition and my car would not turn off. the car was in park; however, the ignition switch would not turn back to the off position. it would only turn forward. my car ran for 4 hours until my husband came home from work. he had to remove the fuel pump fuse and disconnect the battery to turn the car off. the car continued to run after he disconnected the battery. i had the vehicle towed to the dealership so that they can remove the key and repair the vehicle. the dealership stated that they have never encountered this problem; however, i am reading on the internet and it appears to be a common problem with volkswagen. unfortunately vw won't issue a recall unless enough customers complain.

Starter will not allow you to turn off vehicle or take key out.

I got the 2009 vw jetta on 8/2017 at a used car lot i went on website vw schedule appointment for a oil change check vin # on recall by then it come up recall called the number website gave me

Drivetime-downey sold me the above vehicle with no brakes, blown air compressor, and a faulty transmission. the bureau of automotive repairs is investigating the warranty company that failed to repair the brakes.

The driver's side rear door lock does not work. it doesn't work manually or with the key fob. i am concerned about the safety of my passengers if something were to happen and they cannot exit the vehicle from the rear. also, the inability to lock the rear door is another safety issue. i have noticed several complaints about the same problem. does it take an actual vehicle fatality for this problem to be dealt with?

Abs recall - i just received my recall for the jetta stating the above problem and remedy. but i don't the one paragraph in my letter above stating "please be aware that other conditions (unrelated to the issue described in this letter) may cause the abs system warning light in your vehicle to illuminate. customers should be prepared to cover diagnostics and repair costs associated with these other, unrelated conditions"....really! are you fkm! i'm supposed to trust them when they tell me...."were sorry sir, but your problem is not related to the recall and the repair will cost you $650.00, thank you" haha, volkswagen is just trying to recoup the money they lost to the tdi scam. never seen such a mischievous recall in my life! i have been having this problem for years now, rain or snow. if i turn the car off and back on it seams ok

Ignition key tumbler will not turn. cannot start vehicle and other times the engine cannot be turned off. only buy luck was able to eventually turn vehicle off. no other option available to shut down vehicle engine if this problem experienced.

Randomly, most of the vehicle warning lights, check engine or malfunction indicator light, brake system, abs, traction control or esp, airbag fault, appear while i am using a brake for red light and driving on any kinds of roads. then i feel the wheel as heavier than usual, the past (cannot turn smoothly like before). i just purchased the used vehicle on december 16, 2015. the cardealer, autonation, sold the car by advertising that's well maintenanced and all checked. however, within6 months after the purchase, those vehicle warning lights came up on the display. autonation suggested me to go to wollswagen dealer. the mechanic at the local volkswagen dealer gave me an estimates for the repair around 2,000 usd saying that abs system is not working and needs to be replaced by a new one. i asked a help to autonation, but the dealer said that's why volkswagen car is known as a risky choise. the dealer appolozied me saying that he cannot help me. is there any way to return the car to autonation or to get my car repaired by autonation?

In april of 2016 car just had 6 indicator lights on dash. just happened one day on the highway. speedometer, gas gauge none of the dash worked. red light constant flashing. we ended up having to park it for 6 months while still paying 300 a month car payment and full coverage insurance until i had money to fix it. around the same time the back passenger window stopped working and still doesn't work. i got this car in march of 2015 i believe. it has cost me so much money and i am hoping that i may be able to get a reimbursement on the 800 i spent to fix it, only to have it do this stuff randomly every few months. just 2 weeks ago i had to slam on the brakes while driving and there was a bang sound and i drove it home. the next day it drove to work ok and then on way home when it started it immediately was running badly and check engine light and all that was on again. we took it to mechanic and he said thermostat was stuck open and it did need a coil and wires or something also. it has been just constant with this car and i am spending a ton of money. it's really difficult raising a family and working 30 miles away from my home and dealing with this constantly. oh, and the air conditioner only works in the winter time. definately not when idleling. mechanic says that's a 400$ part so i'm just trying to scrounge up the money to fix that part of the electric disaster this car is before it hits 101 on my days sitting in traffic. please help. the document i have to upload is the reciept from the repair. it was messed up for almost a year before i could fix it. mostly just sitting.

The sun roof opened to the first tilt position without any action caused by the driver or passenger. it happened again on may 17 during a slow left turn in a shopping center. my concern is that it may be electrical in nature and may affect the door locks as well. on a previous occasion, i had difficulty opening the trunk and had to use my key to open the drivers side door.

Automatic door locks won't work causing the vehicle doors to remain locked or unlocked without repair at $400 per door. if door is stuck in locked position, passengers can not exit the vehicle in an emergency. if stuck in unlocked position, vehicle can not be locked and uninvited passengers can enter the vehicle. both are safety hazards. issue occurs regardless if the car is stationary or in motion.

Vw jetta reverse / forward action error. malfunction of car electronics / mechanics causing sudden acceleration and surging.

Driving up a mountain highway, the car lost all power (even with the gas pedal to the floor). once pulled over, the vehicle wouldn't start again. the high pressure fuel pump in the tdi failed catastrophically and sent metal shrapnel throughout the entire fuel system. *tr

Car door locks not working / erratic. when i bought the car from the dealer in santa cruz, california in 2012, they did not tell me the rear right passenger door did not automatically lock, nor could it be locked from inside. i had to manually lock it from the side, and now it stays locked all the time unless i pull the inside lever. then, an year later, the other (left) passenger side started never locking too, and most of the time i have to manually lock the driver door with the key. the front right passenger door still works fine, as do all the alarms. the dealer says it will cost me $1400 to fix.

Vw jetta 2009 stalls and engines dies while driving. lost ability to steer vehicle - able to coast to side of road. car towed to vw dealership and they have been unable to recreate the problem. concerned if this happens on major road and loss of steering could result in accident.

Shortly after purchase, car began to fill with water. not directly from the sun roof but from a disconnected or damaged drain hose. causing serious mold & electrical problems. vw has reluctantly looked into the problem, replaced parts, but only made it worse. and the car is now undrivable. *tr
