We have classified the 64 complaints from 2009 Volkswagen Jetta about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
2009 volkswagen jetta tdi at 53,000 miles my radiator went out due to a design flaw were a clamp rubbed a hole in the radiator. vw would not cover under factory warranty, at 68,000 miles the alignment went out in the automobile, and finnally at 72,000 miles i noticed my transmission making a hard shift and a delay shift when taking off, i inquired about it twice at the dealer ship and was advise nothing was wrong. then at 94,000 miles i started hearing a loud noise from my motor it is the dual mass cluch flywheel has gone out. the dealership wants $3000.00 to fix. i called vw of america, the vp i talked to, said just because the part was recalled in australia and canada it doesn't mean anything to them. *tt
First incident in july 2011 but same ongoing issue and at the dealership at least 8 times in 11 months. currently at the dealership again for almost 3 weeks now. its always the same "symptoms" but always told its another problem..... as follows: -sputters and jerks -exhaust or gas fumes overcome the car -engine revs but the car wont move, then jolts forward. -stalls when trying to start, it jerks violently making a putting noise as if it can't get fuel then dies. -there's a beeping noise coming from something in the engine when it stalls that no one seems to know what it is. i have replaced: -intake manifold -all fuel sensors -low pressure fuel pump -high pressure fuel pump -melted fuses with unknown cause -two batteries -other smaller items related to fuel system. *jb
I was on the exit ramp of the interstate and the go to workshop warning came on along with the glow plug warning light. vehicle lost power, i was able to get to a side street and turned off vehicle, it restarted and seemed fine drove about 2 miles and stopped for a light, car stalled and warning lights came back on. car did not restart had push to side of road and tow home. towed to dealer first of week. found to be high pressure fuel pump failure of the diesel engine. this is the second one to go bad first one at 135380 miles and now at 228605 miles only 93225 miles on repair job. vw repaired the first one, replaced entire fuel system at no charge, do to faulty hpfp. even though this pump has less miles they will not help with repair cost. both times car died at a major intersection and had to be pushed to side of road. *tr
Power train:clutch assembly 2009 volkswagen tdi 18000 miles and again at 61000 thousand miles. just should not be... one under warranty one not. 2 replaced means poor design on volkswagens part. i should not have had to pay. *tr
My 2009 jetta tdi engine started running rough when i pushed the clutch in while turning into a parking lot 3 weeks ago. i coasted to a parking spot and turned off the ignition. i started the car back up immediately to see if it was going to be ok and it sounded good so i shut it off. when i returned about 45 minutes later, the car started but sounded like it was running on only one or two cylinders and then died. i called a tow truck and it would not start at all when he arrived. the dealer asked if i had ever run gasoline through it. i said 'no, why would i do that?' he said that the entire fuel system needed to be replaced and that vw would pay for this 'one time' even though the warranty has run out. well, if they are at fault this time, they will be at fault the next time too. my concern is the next time. i drive on a 70 mph interstate 90 miles round trip to work 5 days a week. what are the chances that i will be lucky enough that it did not happen in traffic at that speed the first time and just where will i be when it happens again? if they are replacing this shredded high pressure fuel pump with the same model made of the same materials, it will happen again. is there ethanol being put into diesel in this country? what about the additives to diesel that are necessary for lubricity that are put in by the different companies? is one or more types of these the culprit? this problem is all over the internet and i hope that vw can come up with a permanent solution before someone is seriously injured - if it hasn't happened already. meanwhile - still waiting for my car to be returned to me.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta sportwagen. the manufacturer was contacted in regards to an unrelated issue when the contact was told to take the vehicle to an authorized dealer for repairs under nhtsa campaign id number: 09v333000 (power train:automatic transmission). the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that the vehicle was outside of the mileage range of the recall and would not be repaired under the terms of the recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 84,600.
Transmission slips or fails to engage in reverse. *tr
Engine abruptly stalled entering large multi-lane intersection, as engine repair light came on. suddenly inoperative power train on the vehicle without any prior warning. tdi diesel powered vehicle. towed to dealership and diagnosed with hpfp (fuel pump) & fuel system failure.
When starting to move the car such as at a stop sign or at an intersection, when putting the accelerator pedal down to start the vehicle moving, the whole car almost stalls as engine power disappears for a terrifying few seconds. *tr this is very dangerous because you pull out into traffic and expect the car will move forward and not stall. i went onto a vw forum and learned that this is a common problem for vw. *tr
During the snow storm the clutch and the four wheel drive did not engage. i was driving slowly along with the traffic and the as the car started to ascend an incline in the road, it started to skid; and when i engaged the brakes, attempted to change gears, the clutch would not engage. when the car came to a stop, there was a odor of burning rubber. i contacted vw america about the failure, they covered the cost of the part and not the service as a customer appreciation good will gesture. *tr
Vehicle transmission would not engage needed to turn engine off and back on before it would move check engine light would come on and than off on the day before i took it in for service it happened everytime i started the car that day vehicle is now at dealer and they told me they needed tech support from vw and it would be until next week before any thing was done. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. while driving approximately 60 mph, the contact stated that the gear shift selector shifted to neutral without warning similar to nhtsa campaign id number: 09v164000 (power train:driveline:driveshaft). he was able to pull to the side of the road where he manually powered the vehicle off and restarted it again which allowed the vehicle to reset. the manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to a local dealer. the vehicle was taken to a dealer who they replaced the mechatron. the current mileage was 40,000 and the failure mileage was 36,000.
2009 volkswagen jetta. consumer writes in regards to transmission problems *tgw the consumer stated as she applied the accelerator pedal, the rpm would spike and the engine would rev, but the vehicle didn't have any power as if the gear slipped into neutral when trying to accelerate. the dealer informed the consumer there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. the consumer stated there are two open recalls, but her vehicle identification was not included. *jb
Tl*the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. the contact stated that while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle would not move and the engine would not rev. the contact had to shift into neutral, manually rev the engine and then shift into drive so that the vehicle would accelerate. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer but the dealer could not find the cause of the failure. the failure was involved in a crash because of the faulty transmission; there were no injuries. the failure mileage was approximately 21,000.
Driving a 2009 jetta tdi - there seems to be a transmission issue with the car where the car will constantly jerk forward when stopping at a red light or starting acceleration from the light. at times, acceleration or braking on the freeway causes the car to 'shudder'. also, 3 times in the last 4 months, the car has stalled when trying to accelerate from a red light, and the clutch does not 'grab' the gear soon enough. stalling requires me to then place the car in park, turn the ignition completely off, and then restart the engine before i can continue driving. taking the car to the dealership multiple times has not yielded any findings, with the vw dealership telling me that the problems do not exist and they are not able to duplicate any issues, and that all parts of the car are up to specifications. the car is currently under 25000 miles, and was bought brand new from the dealer. continuous complaints have not gotten any. *tr
I recently purchased a 2009 volkswagen jetta tdi diesel car with a 6 speed manual transmission and 20,000 miles. i have notice that the car is extremely easy to stall when attempting to accelerate in first and second gears. it seems the injection timing may be too far advanced. i have driven lots of similar older model diesel cars in europe and elsewhere without any such problems. i do not know what to do to correct the problem. i have noticed that you must speed up significantly in first gear before shifting to second. the engine seems to be unable to lug at a low rpms. *tr
While the car is in the "drive" position i can turn off the car and take the key out of the ignition. this allows the car to roll freely if on any sort of a slope. *tr
I own a 2009 jetta tdi with a dsg transmission. i feel like i am going to get hit when i start from a stop. the transmission jumps and hesitates. it has been to the dealer with out being fixed. it is terrifying to drive a car that may or my not accelerate which also jumps in and out of gear! *tr
Car shifts into neutral while driving, engine revs and car will not accelerate. when engine goes to idle, transmission will sometimes engage. problem started at 4000 miles (now 37000) multiple calls to vw and trips to vw service with zero results. no fault codes,no repair. last call to vw customer service i was told by the rep. buy a new transmission and see whether the problem is resolved . this automobile was troublesome from the beginning with hard shifting and slamming into first gear. i also have a 2006 tdi with zero problems. *tr
The dsg transmission mechatronic unit is faulting causing rough shifts between 1st and 2nd gears. sometimes it takes a long time for the control unit to choose a gear and when it does, there is a hard hammering bang when it finally goes into gear. vw is replacing the unit - however, it will take two to three weeks to get the vin coded unit. *tr
Please reference nhtsa action # pe09035. my car has had this recall performed and continues to exhibit the behavior on multiple occasions since having the recall performed in november of 2009. the car has been serviced at the dealer numerous times to correct this problem and it still occurs. the dealer performed the recall in november 2009, replaced the affected temperature sensor in march 2010, replaced the brake light switch in may 2010, and replaced the instrument cluster in june 2010. i just got the car back from having the instrument cluster replaced on friday, june 11, 2010 and the "false neutral" referenced in the nhtsa action # pe09035 occurred again on sunday, june 13, 2010. the car is currently waiting on a service appointment at the dealer. this is a major safety issue!! *tr
Fourth incident: three unsuccessful attempts by dealership to correct problem. problem has occurred under different circumstances and driving conditions. speeds ranging from 65 mph to 20 miles per hour...generally while attempting to accelerate. auto is a 2009 vw jetta equipped with the dsg transmission. car will go into neutral without prior warning. when this occurs, prndsl indicator light will flash as will "apply brake" warning light. on at least one occasion, simple application of brake cured the problem. in the latest case (today, march 20, 2010) i had to turn off the motor twice before the transmission would return to normal functioning. as stated, this has occurred four times since i have owned this car. the car has less than 8,000 miles on the odometer. *tr
I was driving my 2009 vw jetta wolfsburg edition on the interstate at 65mph when suddenly the car loses power and shuts off. i happened to be in the passing lane and luckily was not struck from behind. this same situation has since occurred 10-15 times. my wife and i are hoping a new car will issued to us as we just can't risk the lives of our family. this car shouldn't be on the road anymore....it has been to the dealership 3x with no resolution. *tr
During the cold winter months in nh. my 2009 vw jetta sportwagen tdi has exhibited a engine stumble problem when it is started. the car will start but run rough and abruptly stall. it takes on average of 5 starts before the engine will stay running in a smooth manner. most of the events have been after driving more than 30 miles and parking it overnight in a non-heated garage at 44f. one occurrence was in my work parking lot after sitting 8hrs in 30f weather. this problem has occurred a total of 10 times. the problem occurs about once a week. most recently it started and didn't run rough until i had pulled out on to the road. the engine started to run rough and i had to pull off to the side. the car had to be shutoff and restarted before it ran smooth. the outside temperature was 10f. the car has been to vw service twice. the car doesn't trigger a code for vw to diagnose, but the problem is very real. vw doesn't know what is wrong and no repairs have been made. the car could leave my family stranded in cold conditions or possibly hit while the car is on the side of the road. *tr
2009 vw tdi jetta. engine runs rough, sutters at certain points and lacks power. will sometimes stall in traffic. have documented with dealers. vw america refuses to answer. vw has software fix, but will not apply it to vehicle. do people have to be killed before these people pay attention.
Vehicle shifts into neutral while driving. vehicle has been recalled for this problem, but vehicle still has problem after recall service has been done. nhtsa campaign id number 09v333000 is for the recall that was completed on this vehicle in oct. 2009. at vw dealer where vehicle was purchased. on nov 27, 2009 vehicle shifted into neutral while driving and has done it on 2 other occasions. have taken vehicle back to dealer on nov. 29, 2009 and awaiting results of their diagnoses. i am sending this complaint because i believe that this defect is not getting fixed with the original recall, which leaves a very serious safety problem open to owners of these vehicles and others. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. the contact stated that the clutch connector was fractured. the vehicle was taken to a dealer and they advised him that he needed to replace the clutch plunger. the vehicle was repaired. the failure recurred approximately one and a half years later. the contact stated that the plunger was dangling from the vehicle. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer but they offered no assistance. the failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
The transmission disengaged and display started to blink just as i was entering an intersection had to stop and restart car. *tr
The vehicle has a 1 to 2 second lag when accelerating from a standing start or when i step hard on the accelerator pedal. it acts like it has to think about it for a while before the motor starts to rev up and the transmission engages. this has caused several near-accidents when pulling into traffic, and at stop signs when other drivers decided i'd waited too long and started into the intersection at the same time my car finally decided to get around to going. this is a tdi with the dsg transmission. i had the dealer run a full diagnostic and they didn't find anything. i see others reporting the same behavior here and elsewhere. i suspect faulty programming in either the engine or the transmission software, though it may be just the inherent behavior of the system. i'll put today's date on the "approximate incident date" although it's been this way since i bought the car in november 2008. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta sportwagen. the contact stated that as she was driving approximately 45 mph her vehicle shut off in the middle of the road. there is a recall# 09v333000, power train, automatic transmission. the contact stated that the dealer repaired the vehicle under the recall at least four times and each time the repair was complete the failure continued to occur. the failure began on september 9, 2009. the failure mileage was 7,000 and the current mileage was 15,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. while driving 30 mph the gear warning light illuminated on the instrument control panel, and then the vehicle down-shifted into the neutral gear. he was able to safely restart the vehicle to continue normal operation. the vehicle was taken to the dealer three times for inspection. the technicians were unable to duplicate the failure; therefore, they could not provide a remedy. the vehicle identification number was unavailable. the failure mileage was 150. the current mileage was 6,000.
Turning left from turn lane with green light. oncoming traffic with ample space to make the left turn. started to accelerate into intersection and auto transmission (dsg) shifted to a lower gear causing sluggish acceleration. i pushed the accelerator to the floor to get more power and to avoid the approaching traffic. by that time, it was too late and a collision occurred, totaling both vehicles. *tr
2009 vw jetta tdi wagon with dsg transmission. harsh / jerky shifting during low speed stops or acceleration. *tr
Transmission spontaneously disengages while vehicle is moving. problem sometimes fixes itself immediately, sometimes the vehicle needs to be restarted in order for the problem to be cleared. the dealership is aware of the problem, but is unwilling to fix it sitting that they cannot reproduce the circumstances surrounding the problems. the dealership will only examine the problem 24 hours before i incur charges for the loaner vehicle. so far no parts have been replaced, and no work has been done beyond attempts to reproduce the problem. this problem caused a near accident at highway speeds when it occurred while the engine cruise control was engaged. after disengaging power, the engine revved to red line, the transmission then re-engaged. this problem occurs frequently, up to 3 times per week. *tr
Jetta vehicle goes into neutral on it's own (while still in drive position) and then may go back into drive. many occasion the vehicle has gone in to neutral and back. on one occasion at an intersection it would not return after shifting back and forth. i had to turn of the vehicle and restart it to have the ability to drive. the dealer found the mechatronics unit failed and spent 3+ weeks to repair. the same day i received the vehicle my wife and i experienced similar failures twice. both these incidents were coming down hill to stop. approaching the stop the car went into neutral, revved up the engine, and then went back to normal. all in a 3-4 second time frame. incidents like this have a concern for me on these cars. for one, when stopping these cars downshift to aid in the braking. a sporadic shift into neutral could scare/alarm the driver and cause an accident. i think there is something seriously wrong with these vehicles that requires intervention.*tr
Windshield wipers system failed in snow storm. parts replaced complete loss of engine power while driving in traffic. 8 times this has happened. dealer can not find cause. no start situation, twice. dealer can not find cause. transmission noise. dealer can not find cause, will replace transmission if noise continues. *tr
There is a false neutral on the vehicle. the throttle is depressed and there is no response as far as power to the wheels. the engine responds by increasing rpms, but the power is not transferred to the wheels. this is unsafe and unsettling as you are placed in the position of not knowing when it will occur and whether one might be trying to merge or make a left turn and suddenly be without power and subject to being hit. *tr
While driving, vehicle appeared to go into neutral with no transfer of power from the engine to the drivetrain. the prnds indicator began flashing though still indicating it was in drive. the vehicle rolled to a stop and was unable to move to get off the highway. problem corrected itself briefly after turning the vehicle off then on again, but happened again shortly after resuming driving. vehicle had to be towed to the nearest dealership. dealer states it is a faulty transmission speed sensor and is awaiting a backordered part to repair it. *tr
This is for a 2009 vw jetta tdi with a dsg transmission. the vehicle has a tremendous lag when pulling away from a stop, it also has a loud clunk and a hard jerk when coming to a stop. the vehicle has also seemed to be in neutral once and was still in drive, it would not move and the vehicle had to be restarted to move again. i have made a service appointment at my local vw dealer. *tr
Purchased a 2009 vw jetta sportswagon tdi on 5/31/09. on august 4th, the car was taken in for a 90-inspection. prior to this, i experienced the panel lights flashing and when attempting to accelerate, the car did nothing and appeared to be in neutral. i stated this to the vw service representative. we were given the car back on august 6th, stating that there was a faulty harness connector and a wire repair was performed. between august 6th and august 13th, i experienced the same problem with the acceleration approximately 5 times in the space of three days. on august 14th i had the car towed to the same vw dealer that performed the 1st repair. when telling the service representative what occurred, the repair shop could not find any problem with the transmission and inferred that perhaps my driving was at fault. on 8/20, the vw dealer called and said that they had spoken to a vw factory rep and that there was a faulty temperature control problem. on tuesday, 8/25, the vw dealer called and told us the car was ready to be picked up. i picked the car up that evening (8/25) and the repair notice stated that the sensor was replaced. when driving to work on wednesday, 8/26, i experienced lurching, seizing and non-acceleration of the transmission approximately 4 times. vw of america has been included "in the loop" from the beginning (case # 90204213). on thursday, 8/27, the car was towed to a different vw dealer, however, with the same business name (david maus). this is the third time within a space of 3 weeks that the car has been into the dealership for the same circumstances (e.g., transmission failure). i am fearful of driving the vehicle because of the lurching, non-acceleration and seizing of the transmission. the vehicle has been towed to the vw dealer because of the unsafe driving conditions i have experienced. *tr
New 2009 jetta tdi sedan with dsg engine. two incidents...one on the 3rd and second on the 4th of august. on the 3rd was dropping off a grandson at his mothers office. car was in park, engine idling, child exited car, i put food on brake, shifted into reverse, whereupon the car went into neutral mode, and the lit gears indicator light started blinking, while the green depress brake pedal light came on, engine raced and suddenly re-engaged reverse, lurched backward almost striking passing car. on the 4th was traveling north on a smooth highway, between 50-55 mph, when suddenly car slipped into a neutral mode while remaining in drive on the gear selector. as this happened the entire gears indicator light started blinking rapidly and the depress brake pedal before starting light came on too. engine raced to redline and car slowly coasted to a stop. as an older driver, 68 years, these two incidents alarmed me. i love the car and its overall performance, but i fear lost confidence in the car. the vw service mgr. dan is great and the dealership kempthorn moyors is high quality...i think volkswagen should replace my car or modify the warranty on the transmission and dual clutch/flywheel on the car. *tr
We recently purchased a 2009 vw jetta tdi sportwagen which recently left my wife stranded along the highway. the incident took place on aug. 3, 2009 and the vehicle has just over 4,500 miles on it. my wife was driving at a speed of about 65 mph on i95 north when the car lost power, the engine was running and it seemed like the car just slipped into neutral. my wife put the flashers on and made it to the side of the road on a major interstate -- scary! she then put the car in park, lights were still flashing on the dash, so she then turned it off. she restarted the car and it seemed fine. she pulled back out onto the highway and about a half mile down the road it happened again, she again coasted to the side of the road and called vw. they came and towed the car to the dealership. the car is currently in the dealership waiting to get fixed. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. while driving approximately 35 mph on normal road conditions; the transmission exhibited a pulling sensation and began hesitating intermittently. the failures progressed between 0 to 55 mph and the engine surged while maintaining speed. an authorized technician informed the contact that the problem was a manufacturers design without a remedy. the computerized system code was reset to the manufacturer's service code. the vehicle was inspected by an authorized dealer to further diagnose the failure. the contact had concerns of the safety risk involved. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 150 and the current mileage was 6,500.
My jetta sportwagen tdi with dsg transmission was purchased new in may 2009. within 3 months of purchase, we noticed the car would jerk and slam into gear. every time we had the car in for service we complained of the "jerk" or "slam". then, in dec 2009 we received a warranty extension for the dsg tranny from 60,000 miles to 100,000. this obviously showed there were known problems. at all of it's scheduled maintenance appointments, i would mention the jerkiness. the dealership said there was no problems since they never felt it shift funny when they drove it. it wasn't even until 43,000 did anyone ride in the car with me to see! not once did they hook the car to a computer to run for codes or faults. i did not have a check engine fault code either. we had the tranny serviced per the vw manual at a little over 40,000 miles and that did not help the car. now, the car tends to downshift while completely stopped, still slams/jerks into gear, rocks back and forth when you put it in park and rolls backwards several feet when you put the car in drive from reverse (in our sloped driveway.) this never happened in the past, but now you have to "power" brake the car to ensure you don't roll back and hit the others in our driveway. since i was getting no where, i finally called an opened a case with vw customer care. this time when i took the car in for service i mentioned the problem again and referenced my case number. they checked my car out today and said they ordered a new mechatronic unit. the service bulletins showed the exact symptoms that my car was doing, but we never got any help. it wasn't until i opened a case with vw that something was done. we'll see if this new part fixes our problem or not. i love my jetta, just not the crappy transmission! *js
2009 vw jetta tdi sportswagen. when moving from complete stop, vehicle sometimes pauses, then lurches forward with sudden acceleration; even thought steady foot pressure was on the gas pedal. *tr
1. driving at highway speeds in 6th gear, flat road, in cruise control. no erratic driving or fast acceleration. 2. the automatic transmission fails by falsely shifting into neutral when the transmission shifter is in drive. the prnds gear indicator on the dash began flashing when this happened. this has occurred 5 times since i bought the car on july 15, 2009. the car lost all power to the front (drive) wheels and had to be stopped on the side of the highway, then restarted for the car to return to normal operation. 3. the car has been submitted to the vw dealer's service dept. no parts have been replaced or repaired. *tr
Entering traffic in 2009 volkswagen tdi sportwagon. as i applied the throttle, the car went into a false neutral, and lost power. the engine still revved, but nothing got through the transmission. all the gear indicator lights (p-n-r-d-s) on the dash flashed. i turned the car off, and restarted it, (in the intersection) and it worked fine. the happened three times while driving from seattle to san jose on 29 july. *tr
Commuting from work, on the highway driving at approximately 65 mph, i momentarily release the gas pedal on my 2009 vw jetta tdi automatic (dsg). when i step on the gas once again to maintain speed, there is no power. engine behaves as if it is in neutral, with rpms going up with no acceleration. prnds indicator lights on dashboard blink. it takes a couple of tries of releasing then stepping on the gas pedal again for the gear to take. in the meantime, car has slowed down quite a bit in a busy highway during rush hour making for a safety hazard for me and other motorists. this has happened approximately 7-8 times since i purchased the car (1 month, 2200 miles). *tr
I was driving home in rush hour after work on a four-lane road, in a heavy rain storm. at mile 1,565, my car lost power, the p r n d s transmission options were blinking, the foot break icon came on, and when i pushed on the gas, my rmps increased, but no power. i was able to safely maneuver the car out of rush hour traffic, pull over on the shoulder, and sat there wondering what just happened. being that the car was new, i did not know what had happened, there was no service engine soon light come on. i put the car into park, sat there for a bit, and then put it back into drive. about 3 miles later, the transmission options blinked again. once i arrived home, i called the vw dealers service dept. where i bought the car and talked with the service manager. he never saw anything like this, told me not to drive it to the dealer (i am 100+ miles from the dealer), to have it towed to them. i am very unsatisfied with vw, jetta, and my car. i do not feel like my car is safe, reliable, or trustworthy. now, because of the instances that occurred, i will always be paranoid with my car, worrying if i will be able to safely get to and fro the places i need to be. i recently was on the interstate with an inconsiderate tractor trailer behind me not giving me a reasonable distance between me and his oversized vehicle. i was not able to change lanes for other cars were in the adjacent lane. fear came over me as i know i would be in a severe accident if the transmission decided to fail again resulting in a loss of power. there would have been no way for the oversized tractor trailer behind me to stop in time without causing an accident because the car i was driving lost power. *tr
Our 2009 volkswagen jetta tdi stopped and would not move. fortunately we were not in an intersection the first time. the second time there were no other cars around when the car stopped. all of the gears were lighting up. there was no warning. the dealership replaced the input speed sensor and the fluid temperature sensor and we fortunately have not experienced the problem since that time. *tr
