The air bag lights comes on and off from the dash all the time, i went to a dealership and they told me that there is nothing they cam do about it because the light wasn't on when i went there but i think they could at least take a look at it but they didn't care, it's a safety problem and they should be more careful with these kind of problem
Tl* the contact owned a 2016 toyota rav4. while driving, the contact had to quickly veer out of the way to avoid striking another vehicle. as a result, he crashed into a tree at 42 mph. none of the air bags deployed. the contact sustained injuries to the chest and shoulder, and also had whiplash. the contact was transported by ambulance to the hospital. a police report was filed. the damage to the vehicle was extensive, primarily in the front. the insurance company declared the vehicle destroyed. the vehicle was towed from the scene to a body shop. the manufacturer hired an independent engineering firm that took the information from the vehicle's black box. their findings stated that all of the sensors were working and the vehicle's speed was 42 mph. the reason the air bags did not deploy was "insufficient deceleration". the dealer had not been contacted. the failure mileage was 90,000. *ln *tr *dt *dl

Daughter was driving 65mph on interstate when large truck in front of her dropped their drive shaft. she tried to straddle the object due to no shoulder and another vehicle in next lane. report stated it rupture gas tank and loss ability to steer vehicle sending get into and through guardrail. totalled everyone front end of vehicle. no airbags deployed. she suffered significant concussion and whiplash.
Takata recall i purchased this car in january 2019 and since that time have received numerous mailed notices from toyota "safety recall follow-up notice." i have made at least 8 phone calls to toyota and been promised repeatedly that i will be contacted for airbag replacement...but have not been contacted. each person with whom i speak faithfully promises that i will be contacted, then nothing. i live in rural alaska on an island without a toyota dealer. the closest toyota dealer is in anchorage. getting my vehicle to anchorage will entail a 12-24 hour ferry ride and a 2-8 hour highway drive.
Air bag recall: i have been getting recall notices for years. i have notified toyota many times that i no longer own this vehicle!!! it was traded in to toyota of lewisville tx in october 25, 2014. this is bordering on harrassment! it is also a waste of money. i recently recieved a notice via fedex!! please update your records. thank you.

Toyota found occupant ecu needed replacement internal failure. simply the seatbelt light and airbag warning lights came on. . air bag system automatically shuts off and is not protecting passenger in the event of an accident.
