Air bag did not deployed at the time of accident. damaged/rip apart front bumper...car is total loss as per insurance adjuster. other collided honda cr-v had all its air bags deployed. none on my prius. accident happened at major intersection ,when green light turned on i paddle my car , other car honda cr-v came at a speed to make left turned and hit my front bumper.
I was turning left and was hit by an oncoming car. most damage done to the front right. the car was totaled. i was going about 5-10mph though the oncoming car was going approximately 40mph. the firemen, police and insurance adjuster were all very concerned that the airbags did not deploy. my babies were safe in the backseat thanks to their car seats. i had to go to the hospital and suffered a concussion. we just had our car tuned up at our local toyota dealership not even 6 mos ago. they did not say anything about a concern with the airbags.
I was driving up to my garage on the side of my house on a clear day, early afternoon. i was traveling about 3 mph and tried to stop to park in front of the garage door. i depressed the brake pedal and it did not engage, but lurched forward into the garage, crashing into the garage and causing damage to both the garage and the auto.
The blizzard pearl paint began splitting and flaking off my passenger side doos. the location on both doors is the area right below the windows. this started several months ago and now large chunks are coming off despite having used a 3 paint touch up process. now the pattern is repeating on my driver's side.
Since a couple of weeks ago the left back door won't open from the inside. it can only be opened from the outside. since thursday, feb. 28, 2019 the right back door also can't be opened from the inside, only from the outside. that door hardly ever is used. the passenger was trapped inside. i had to open it from the outside to let him out. this has never happened before to any car i ever drove or was a passenger in. it's very dangerous to be trapped inside. something is seriously wrong with how the door was manufactured.
First issue is with the rear latch being useless sometimes depending on the weather as the molding is all melted and access to the trunk being impossible. second and most important i've noticed the braking on this car is very very suspect. purchased this vehicle around 6 months ago from westbury toyota and i've learned i need to apply my brakes at least a good 50 to 100 feet before the vehicle in front of me. couple months ago the car in front of me braked so sudden that i also hit my brakes, the abs sign flashed as if it "was" working but the car just kept going, i ended up pressing the brake all the way to the floor and still no result. if i hadn't kept my distance i would've definitely ended up in that cars trunk. i can say from all my experience as a driver and all the cars i've owned this car has the worst braking system in the history of motor vehicles. feels like braking a 747 plane. extremely dangerous braking
I was coming up the freeway off ramp and my car just turned off i had no braking i hit six other cars rolled over and was severly imjured in the hospital forr three days
We were stopped at a traffic signal going north. when the light turned green, the car in front of us started to go and all of the sudden, our car went into rapid acceleration. we could not stop the car. it crashed into the car in front of us. we tried jamming on the breaks and turning off the ignition, but could not get control. because we were heading uphill, the car finally came to a stop. we were on a city street at a stop signal.
Takata recall possibly. wet pavement, traffic slowed on interstate to about 45 mph, tailgating small pickup hit my rear crumple zone, shoved me into a small suv that crushed my front crumple zone. airbags did not deploy. neither my wife (front seat passenger) nor i felt any discomfort, but a few days later she complained about pain in her waist area. she was later determined to have a fractured pelvis and a jostled left hip joint.
On december 8th, 2018, i was driving eastbound on interstate 10 in phoenix, az at approximately milepost 141 around 5:45 pm. suddenly, i heard a large, *bang* which sounded like a gunshot. i immediately checked myself for injuries and felt the car to determine if a tire was blown. i was intact, and the tires seemed ok as well, but i heard the noise of air escaping from the vehicle. after turning south on i-17, i exited on the first street, exit 199, jefferson st. i turned left and looked for a safe place to pull over. it isn't a good neighborhood, so i slowed down and continued to look around the vehicle as i tried to find the place where the air was escaping. finally, i cracked open the sliding door at the top of my sunroof, and i noticed shards of glass. i immediately closed it and was relieved it had not been open when this incident happened. i decided i must get home immediately, proceeded back to the freeway, and drove home. when i arrived, i noticed the sunroof was shattered - one main horizontal ...
