2003 toyota camry involved in an 8 car accident on 6/20/09. car accelerated uncontrollably and driver was unable to stop car.*tr
Often during acceleration, my car seems to sputter or misfire. when taking off there seems to be, as the only way i can describe it, an air bubble in the fuel line. kinda like fuel isn't constantly being fed to the engine. there are gaps. while driving at a constant speed, this does not happen. also, sometimes when accelerating from a stopped position, my car accelerates slowly and then all of a sudden, takes off as if its playing catch up. although there isn't an active recall on my car, i think there is a problem with the fuel pump.
While on the street as i was backing my car into a parking space adjacent to the street curb the car suddenly accelerated in reverse at high speed, crashing over the curb and sidewalk, rear end first. my stepping on the brakes in an attempt to stop the car was unsuccessful; the car did not come to a stop until it crashed into an iron fence which bordered the yard causing damage to the fence and the car. a similar incident occurred quite a few years ago when the same car suddenly accelerated in reverse out of control and i was unable to bring it to a halt until it hit a parked car. i do not know what caused either of these incidents to occur.
I previously made a complaint about my 2015 toyota camry. i attached a copy of my complaint to this complaint. i am now experiencing loss of power while i drive from the torque converter shudder issue i am having. car is shaking rather than a vibration now between speed of 40mph to 50mph. this is unsafe
When car was completely stopped at a stop sign, car made a loud noise and started shaking. then car accelerated on its own. brakes locked. car wouldn't stop in neutral or in park gear. it caused an accident by rear ending the car in front of me. car accelerated very quickly and steering wheel locked as well. passenger in car heard the noise too. the car accelerated abruptly on its own.
I have a 2012 toyota camry. while making a turn the car loses acceleration. if the turn is long, as in a cloverleaf exit, the vehicle will almost stop. pressing the gas has no effect. the vehicle will lag until it almost stops or until you come out of the turn. from what i find on the internet, this is a common problem with 2012 and later toyota camrys but dealers stonewall about it. i hope you get enough complaints on this to issue a recall.
While being driven down the road (with the driver's foot on the accelerator pedal) the vehicle intermittently loses acceleration (begins to decelerate) despite continued pressure on the accelerator pedal. the driver must release their foot from the pedal and then press it again. the car accelerates (sometimes with hesitancy) and sometimes the car will jerk as the engine revs. this has happened over 20 times. no warning lights have displayed. i changed the engine air filter (though it was not yet due for its next change) and i cleaned the mass air flow sensor with the the appropriate spray. however, the problem continued (with 3 separate drivers). it was taken to a toyota dealership for a diagnostic workup. they couldn't find anything wrong with it. they suggested cleaning the throttle body and adding a bottle of heet to the gas tank. i added iso-heet to the gas tank and took it to a private mechanic who cleaned the throttle body with the appropriate cleaner and added a bottle of seafoam to the gas tank. none of these resolved the problem. i took it back to the toyota dealership. they did a test drive and obd-ii scan. again, no codes. ...
When driving to work on the freeway the car deployed by its self and would not stop the steering wheel is so loose and i have no controll
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 toyota camry. while attempting to make a left turn, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle accelerated. the contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard as the rpms revved excessively. the contact stated that the front passenger side wheel struck the curb. the contact stated that the accelerator pedal was not depressed when the engine revved up for approximately 15-20 seconds. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. a local dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 28,000.
I started my car and put it in reverse. i had my foot on the brake and put it in reverse. the car lurched very hard backwards. the car hit a pole that holds up the covered parking. i had my foot on the brake hard and it was still trying to move and i put it in neutral and it revved a lot. then i turned it off. it has done this a couple of times but not to this extent.
Check engine light came on. code stated that the gas pedal throttle was stuck in open position. my car was not idling high so that had to be an error. mechanic reset the check engine light 2 days later light came back on. this time my car would not accelerate at all. i had my car towed to dealership and was told the accelerator pedal throttle assembly was bad.
